Research on faster firing rate?

Mate, we're still in 1870s. Why you need a faster firing rate anyway? Is Gatling gun not enough, as much as slow it is?

The Berdan II is Russian equipment, that isn't even in use with 65% of the Russian military at this point. Stop using it.

Mate, we're still in 1870s. Why you need a faster firing rate anyway? Is Gatling gun not enough, as much as slow it is?

What government, especially a highly militarized republic, doesn't want to increase the deadliness of their individual soldiers? A Gatling gun is good and all but not for the individual soldier so that's why I thought it reasonable that the Legionary Republic would assign people to find ways to increase the firing rate of their soldiers.
