The Victor, God Among Men, Jakkob

I smirked at the Praetors, before leaping unto the air and hovering over the crowd before me. They all had the same grin, and waited only for my decree.
"HELL HOGS! THE DAY IS OURS!"
"OOH RAH!" Exploded in my ears as a response, and ride of the valkyries cut out to "we are the champions"
"NOW CLEAN UP SO WE CAN CELEBRATE! PARTY AT 3RD COHORT TONIGHT! ALL ARE WELCOME! BUT FIRST, ASUKA! UP HERE NOW!"
She looked scared as she approached, unsure of her fate. But I saw her move to the side to flank. Someone has to praise her. Heroes are the best motivators.
ASUKA FLANKED FROM THE SIDE DURING THAT MASSIVE FIGHT! AND ULTIMATELT IT LET OUR VULCAN BROTHER PUSH TO THE FLAG POLE! SO GIVE HER A HELL HOG HOO RAH! DISMISSED!"
"HOO RAH!"
The Hell Hogs disbanded into sections, and went to work cleaning up our mess. Putting out fires, picking up caltrops to return to the second, and even helping other cohorts when finished.
I flew over to Jenna for a moment, to personally inquire about our date.
"So when will I pick you up?" I chuckled. I went to work helping to clean up right after, but was stopped by a lighting strike. Not close, but not far.
"Stay here," I told my second in command. "I'll take a look. I don't like the looks of this, and we don't need an already fatigued army."
And with that I was off.

I found the strike. At the temple. Something had happened. There was damage clearly. Where was... still here.
"Auger are you here? Can I come in?" I called into the temple.

Alexandria Gunther
Though she hated to admit it, Jakkob's quick thinking and strange methods won the battle. After the battle Alexandria helped out the Third Cohort wounded, singing softly as she passed between troops to help heal bruises and lighter wounds obtained on the battlefield. After the most of the legionnaires were healed, Alexandria volunteered to help take a heavily wounded legionnaire down to the infirmary, helping another member of the Third carry the stretcher to the infirmary. The kid was unconscious from the pain, but not fatally wounded. When they finally reached the infirmary, Alex helped a healer (one of her half-siblings) move the legionnaire to cot where he would eventually receive medical attention, more than Alex herself could help. "Poor kid, had too much fun winning the game." Her 'brother' gave out a slight chuckle and congratulated them both on their victory on the field of battle before getting back to work on the wounded soldiers.

"DON'T JUST STAND THERE YOU IDIOTS!"

Ah, subtle encouragement is the best.

Alex walked through the tent, looking at the wounds that some of the legionnaires had and wished she could have helped more than only healing slight wounds. She started to leave the tent when, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Austin carrying what looked like a Greek from Camp Half-Blood. What is a Greek doing here? I don't remember seeing any at the battle.. Maybe she just arrived? But why is she so beat up? And where are the other Greeks? Alex didn't care much for the Greeks, but this little mystery was very intriguing and she wasn't about pass by. She got near the area with Austin and started to help take care of some of the lighter wounds on some of the patients, while eavesdropping on Austin. When Jenna came in, and Austin started to spill the truth, Alex moved a bit closer to hear the whole story. She didn't get all of it, but she got enough to understand what had just happened outside the camp. She was trying to process everything when the Austin asked the now awakened Greek who she was and why she was there. By this point she had stopped trying to take care of the wounded and was pretty close to the two Praetors and the Greek.

Maddison Perry
Second Cohort, Centurion

"Third Cohort is...the winner."

“I hate technicalities,” came the voice from one of the Cohort, a freckled-face kid who was, despite his looks, a Legionnaire. He looked tired, with a smear of blood across his face like someone had slapped him. It was crusted and dry at his nose; the kid had been bleeded, and recently. People these days. The kid breathed-out a sigh of relief, almost, shaking his head.

“Yeah, well. Figures. How many injured?”

“Two.”

“Well, we’ve won by how many we lost, then. Congratulations. Second Cohort, fall out!” Maddison shook her head. She hadn’t even gotten the chance to use her sword, which was as odd as it was relieving. You know how it is; at least her arm wouldn’t ache a bit after life. Relief mixed with disappointment would be how she’d describe it. Maddison had been practicing, after all.

The unit fell out, people treading off the field in a languid way, most gong back to the barracks for a shower and the like. She’d been entertaining the notion, too, before a Probatio ran-up to her. Maddison disliked using the Probatio for war games; they needed more practice, in her opinion. Needed to move more. Needed to fight more. Needed to learn the terms better.

The Probatio in question, though, had a buzz-cut for hair, a short little girl who looked at-home with herself. She breathed a bit, before saluting. Maddison returned it.

“Centurion, a Grecian was found at the gates. Injured, but alive. She’s been taken to the infirmary.”

“A Grecian? Are you sure?” The Greeks kept to themselves, for the most part. It’d be more than interesting to have one here, no less injured.

“I’m sure, Centurion. I saw her myself. Had an arrow in her. The Praetor took her to the infirmary himself.”

“Sonuva...look, drop these off in my quarters, Probatio? I need to see this. Then return to your normal duties.” She handed the kid her bow, quiver, and shield, and he took them quite easily. Shield slung over one shoulder, quiver over the other, and bow in hand, he looked like one of those pack mules. He walked-off, taking more of a measured pace.

Maddison, meanwhile, jogged over to the infirmary. Entered it quietly, and with helmet under the crook of her arm, she watched the events before her.

Martin Lager

Martin's eye twitched at the words the came out of the Praetor's mouth, it irked him so much he didn't even dare thinking of them.
"Bovis Stercus" he mumbled under his breath before clenching his fists and counting to ten with deep breaths to prevent the wrath of a son of the war goddess.

But Martin's hands were still shaking from anger and probably adrenaline when he pulled out a thermos full of the liquid goodness that was coffee. If there was an accurate way to describe the anger he was feeling, He wanted to rip out someone's heart Indiana Jones Temple of Doom style. Martin took off his helmet as calmly as possible and marched his way back to the barracks. Despite the anger he felt, his face was mostly blank, aside from the edges of a frown on his lips and the slightest furrow in his brows. Well there was that and that his eyes were fierce, if looks could kill as they say, and for Medusa and children of war gods, this was definitely the case.

The Centurions of the Fifth were trying the plan Martin had made, but unfortunately, a certain group on the flank got too caught up with fighting the First Cohort, and stuck the Fifth in an all out brawl with the First for most of the fight, actually it was pretty cool with the clash of swords, arrows, and flames everywhere, the music playing kinda ruined to mood but, hey what can you do.

After taking a shower, Martin concluded the most reasonable action to take was to hunt down every...single...one of Jakkob's speaker and mangle them to the point of no return* (*unless a child of Vulcan really wants to waste their time with a speaker instead of you know, something like a new weapon or machine beneficial to everyone in the legion)

Martin made his way back out to the Field of Mars with the looks to kill to find those wretched speakers, and find some other vengeful legionnaires along the way.
"You know...maybe I could've been a good Son of Nemesis too..." He mused to himself.

Sarah McFlyn

Her vision came in to focus as more of the life saving gold was pumped in to her. Her eyes darted across the room and she noted down a few things. She was in a room, on a bed, under a blanket with an IV in her arm. She noted the Romans in the room and judging by their reactions and what one of them called her, they werent all too pleased to find her.

"Well...better then being crucified." she sat up, wincing at the healing wound. "Sarah McFlyn, Head Councilor for the Ares Cabin." she motioned to the small box and sealed letter among her things. "Was sent here to deliver those to a...Praetor...something or another. Correction, the letter is for a Centurion Perry, while the box is for a Praetor."

She'd take a breath. "I honestly hope what ever in them was worth the 2 week long trek here..."

Ann Aludra, Daughter of Auster, Fourth Cohort Centurion

Ann and most of the Fourth Cohort stood stunned at the bottom of the flaming hill as the Praetor announced that somehow, for some reason, the Third were being considered the victors for the night. "Whelp, that seems about right," Josh said with a strange mixture of amusement, resignation, and hatred. As a son of the victory goddess, losing was especially hard on him, but he had learned to get used to it by now. Losing to the Third, however... He clapped his hands together and thought for a moment, then said, "I'm gonna go to the barracks, lay in my bed, and lament. Everybody is welcome to join me." Without another word, he spun around and walked away, followed by a good three quarters of the Fourth that remained able to move. Some time ago, Ann would have tried to boost his spirits, but at this point she had learned that was a mostly futile effort. Still, she didn't want to give up on her co-commander, and made a mental note to do something nice for him later. Maybe bake him a cake. Though, she wasn't that great of a baker, so she might have to enlist one of Ceres' children. Unless there was another god who had greater command over baking?

Her runaway train of thought was interrupted when Jenna, Ann's personal favorite Praetor, came down to the battlefield and ordered the fire be put out. All thoughts of Josh's cake were pushed out of her mind and she looked at the fire, now threatening to spill off the hilltop, for a moment before an idea came to her. She ran back up onto the hill a short distance away from the flames, and basked in their light for a moment. The hot air didn't bother her at all; instead, it seemed to reinvigorate her. Using a combination of her powers over air and heat, she willed the fire to move slower and burn hotter, and soon it exhausted all of the grass atop the hill and burned itself out. Satisfied, Ann turned around and looked back down the hill. It looked like her troops that hadn't left with Josh were helping their injured comrades up and to the infirmary, which she appreciated. She never liked how many people got hurt in the War Games. But, they were good practice for the legionnaires, and if they helped keep the people in real battles from dying then the Games were alright in her book.

Ann was about to report her fairly obvious success to the Praetor, but something in the distance caught her eye: the other Praetor, the meaner one, carrying someone she didn't recognize into the camp. Curiosity immediately overtook her, and she ran down the hill in Austin's general direction, eventually deciding he was in the infirmary. She went inside to see what was going on, and found herself right next to Maddison. "Oh, hey Maddy!" she said, making a small effort to keep her voice down. "Some fight, huh? What's going on in here?" Ann turned her head to see what Maddison was looking it, and fell quiet once she saw the Greek girl lying in bed. Once the girl was awake and mentioned a letter for a Centurion Perry, Ann gasped and nudged Maddison in the side with her elbow, then whispered "You're a Centurion Perry!"

Asuka Tanaka

They had won.

How did we win? How did we even concentrate hard enough to plan something?

The Third Cohort was universally known as one of the rowdiest cohorts at camp. From the amount of times that Asuka saw that someone from the Third Cohort was doing something stupid, she honestly lost count. These things made her especially surprised when the Thrid Cohort, her own cohort, won the War Games. Thinking about it further, Asuka contributed almost nothing to this victory. She kind of went on her own and... Did her own stuff. She knocked out a total of eight people on the ground. Or was it nine? Seven? She honestly forgot in her train of thoughts.

"ASUKA! UP HERE NOW!"

Oh god.

The voice of the glorious leader, Jakkob, shot through the air. She immediately stopped in her tracks. Was she going to get yelled at in front of the whole Cohort for not doing anything in the War Games? Was she going to get bashed? Was her meat ration going to be taken away? These thoughts flowed into her head like a waterfall when she slowly made her way to Jakkob. The people in her cohort stared at her, and she tried her best to not screw up or trip or do anything that would embarrass herself. After what seemed like forever, she stood next to Jakkob.

ASUKA FLANKED FROM THE SIDE DURING THAT MASSIVE FIGHT! AND ULTIMATELY IT LET OUR VULCAN BROTHER PUSH TO THE FLAG POLE! SO GIVE HER A HELL HOG HOO RAH! DISMISSED!"

.... I did something?

Asuka was honestly surprised. She thought in her head that she hadn't done anything, but being praised for flanking around felt... Rewarding. She felt accomplished, like she had won the entire battle herself. Her thoughts were interrupted when the entire Cohort gave her a "Hoo Rah" in response to her accomplishments. She smiled as the cohort disbanded, off to do their own thing, help clean up, or prepare for the party that Jakkob had yelled. Deciding to help out, she started by helping out put out the fires that were burning from the... Incineration of the hill. It was an event that she still couldn't comprehend. Why set the hill on fire? There was absolutely no strate--

An explosion.

Asuka jumped from the sudden noise. It sounded like a bomb had gone off in the distance. Judging from how loud it was, it wasn't far away. Most likely it was in the confines of the camp. Being a curious girl, Asuka slowly walked away from the field, and made her way to the source of what made the sudden loud explosion. It couldn't have been a bomb, because when she thought bombs she thought of a Mark 84 General Purpose Bomb. A gut feeling was telling her that it wasn't anything military grade.

Maybe it was a lightning strike?

Arriving at the source, she looked at the Temple of Jupiter. The Auger was usually present here, so he was most likely inside the temple. Asuka also saw Jakkobs calling into the temple for the Auger. It seems like she wasn't the only one who heard the loud boom. She slowly walked up to the main entrance, standing next to Jakkob and trying to see if she could take a peek inside the temple for anything, whether a person or any damages.

Jax stood alone, further away. The third cohort had won. "Good for them, definitely surprising." he thought to himself. The third cohort was definitely.....different, they were a rowdy bunch. Celebrating their victory. Jax hadn't really minded who won, only that he had a plan for the next war games, if he can get access to some stock of Imperial Gold. He shook his head, thoughts definitely crowding his mind. He sheathed his gladius, with the war game over, and the 3rd declared victor, he hadn't needed it.

His eyes wandered over to the tower, where the praetors spectated the battle. One of the praetors...."Austin", the name came to his mind, climbed down the tower. Austin seemed to start conversing with another camper, a probatio his tablet signified. Jax turned his head back, away from Austin and the probation, and towards the hill itself. The flames were clearly burning fiercely on what grass there was left to burn. Jax could feel the flames from where he stood.

Jax wasn't on the hill, not anymore, not since the third was declared victor. "The flames....." it reminded Jax of something, he just couldn't place his finger on it. Jax shook his head, and wandered over to the flagpole, or rather, the stack of spears standing against the flames that couldn't quite reach the base of the spears. A black flag, with a boar's head, was waving in the wind. The third cohort was yelling excitedly, and Jax tuned them out. The hill was certainly interesting, with a fire blazing, the flag waving, and the third cohort cheering.

Jax shook his head, and headed back down the hill. He wanted to get back to his barracks, to take his armour off. The game was over, and the armour wasn't exactly light. He began the trek back to the barracks. There were many lars muttering in latin. "Graecus". they muttered. Jax filed this information away into his mind, and continued his trek back to his barracks.

He arrived, and took his armour off, and once more leaving the barracks, dressed in his normal attire. A purple shirt and a pair of jeans. He made sure to grab the notebook, the one with all of his future designs he had in mind, before he left the barracks. The "Graecus" intrigued him, and Jax set off the find who this "Graecus" is. He eventually recieved word, after a small conversation with one of the Lars, that the "Graecus" was in the infirmary, after something happened by the river Tiber.

Jax shrugged, and started to head to the infirmary, where the "Graecus" was being taken care of. Jax reached the infirmary, and headed inside, to the main waiting area, where the medic with the paperwork, and the line of wounded legionaries were situated. Jax, waited nearby. It didn't take a genius to figure out that when someone is in the infirmary, that they are probably being taken care of. He decided to wait until the "Graecus" left the infirmary. He was interested, to say the least.

Chapter 2: We're All Going To Die, And It's Probably Jakkob's Fault

I raised an eyebrow towards Jenna, unsure what to think. Like she seemed to always do, she simply shrugged and let me handle it. I swear, she does that on purpose so that way I always seem like the mean one. I looked over at the box and envelope that Sarah had pointed out. I didn't know what was more alarming: The fact that the Greeks had sent me the box, or that they also had a letter specifically for our Second Cohort Centurion. Both of them likely spelled bad news for the Legion. I was about to take the items and leave when Jenna made an obvious fake cough to get my attention.

"Ahem, Praetor, I believe you haven't shown this girl the courtesy of addressing us."

I froze in my tracks. Gods, I couldn't believe I had almost...urgh.

"Er, my apologies. I am Austin Merinen, Son of Neptune, and Praetor of the Legion. My colleague here," Jenna waved at the girl with a smile, "is Jenna, Daughter of Venus, also Praetor of the Legion. We, um, thank you for risking your life to deliver these items. On my honor, I swear we'll make sure you fully recover from your wounds and provide you transportation back to your camp once you've healed. Until then, make yourself at home.I'll have a guard detail assigned to watch over you for in the meantime."

Jenna stepped in front of me.

"Austin, is that really necessary? I mean, surely she can-"

"Praetor, may I remind you that it is our duty to both defend New Rome and her guests? We wouldn't want her to wonder off somewhere she shouldn't and be further harmed."

Jenna shut up, getting the message. I didn't want this Greek to suddenly disappear before I could get some more questions out of her. The more information we had, the better. If it meant holding her in a sort of free-range imprisonment...Well, so be it. I grabbed the box for myself while handing Jenna the letter.

"Go and give this to Centurion Perry."

I leaned in closer and whispered into her ear.

"Find out what it says and report back to me when you do."

Jenna nodded. She may screw around a lot, but she could get serious when she had to. And right now, she needed to be. However, she still managed to give the Greek another dazzling smile, although I could tell that this one was faked. As a child of Venus, I doubted the Greek would care regardless. As she went through the tent door, several legionnaires jumped back in surprise. Apparently, my request for our conversation to be private had not been acknowledged...Yeah, they'd pay. But that'd have to wait. In the meantime...

"Guards, do not allow anyone else besides myself, the medics, or Praetor Jenna into this room. Do not allow anyone within ten feet of this room. Do not let anyone even LOOK at this room. This Greek will remain here as our guest, but she shall not leave this room until I give the okay. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!"

The two guards stuttered out a "Yes Praetor!" with all their might, their hearts likely about to jump out of their throats as they did. I suppose I should've been clearer in my initial instructions, but I should've known better than to let a bunch of Probatios handle it. I let out a frustrated groan and shot an evil eye at those who dared look in the direction of the room. Their gazes immediately went elsewhere, and I doubted they'd be stupid enough to return them back to the room for a long time.

As I exited the infirmary, I spotted several legionaries snooping around, likely curious as to what was going on. Another salvo of evil eyes reminded most of them of the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat." It appeared that these cats wanted to live, as they scampered away. As they did, I couldn't help but feel the pressure building up in my chest. I was nervous to see what was in the box and I was planning on going to my quarters to find out just what was inside when suddenly I heard a voice calling for me. Spinning around, I saw none other than Max rushing towards me. He seemed distraught, which meant more headaches for me. Great. I waited for him to catch up to me, not wanting to waste my energy when I didn't need to. When he finally did, my eyes widened at the news he gave me. There had been a lightning strike on the Temple of Jupiter. Seeing as Camp Jupiter was protected from severe weather, this could only mean one thing.

"Gods, why does this day have to get more complicated than it already is?"

I thanked Max for the news before rushing off towards the temple, box in my hand as I did. It was quite the distance, but I eventually managed to get there, albeit somewhat covered in sweat. Including the Augur, I also saw two campers I recognized as members of the Third. More specifically, Jakkob and Asuka. Why the Hades they were here was beyond my knowledge, but the sight of the Augur trembling where he stood took my attention instead. I rushed up to see what all the commotion was about, and when I looked down at the ground, I understood what was making the Augur probably...no, more than probably wet himself.

In the smoking crater left behind by the lightning strike, was a series of latin words arranged in a similar structure to the other collections of words on the temple floor. This could only mean...

"A new prophecy."

If he hadn't already (Which I had suspicions that he had), I'm pretty sure the Augur peed himself at the sound of my voice as he jumped up in surprise. He seemed like he was on the edge of a panic attack, so I guessed that my entrance likely increased his chance of a heart attack by tenfold. Unable to speak, he merely nodded and stepped back so I could have a clearer view. What I saw was...Well, read it yourself.

The greatest foe shall walk the earth,
Upon Eagle and Spear he shall lay a curse,
In his hands he holds the Daughter of the Sea,
To end the world unless she be made free,
Before the Sun reaches its peak,
And the bond between allies becomes weak,
Against beasts stronger than any man,
Must band together Nine Greek and Nine Roman,
To the ancient fields in which they last fought,
Must all members be brought,
Eighteen of these shall set forth to war,
And to end that which was ended before.

.
.
.

Well. That wasn't a good sign. I gave the Augur a look of "I told you that something was happening", but the poor guy seemed to just be stunned at what had happened. I didn't blame him. We hadn't had a new prophecy be added in...Well, centuries. To think that none other than Jupiter himself would deliver this message to us...This was bad news. I tried to wrap my head around what it all meant. There were way too many things to think about at once, and right now, I had no answers to any of it.

I looked down at the box below me. I prayed to the Gods that it'd have the answers I needed. I glanced at the others. I debated whether or not to order them to go away, but at this point trying to keep anything secret anymore was pointless. With a bit of reluctance, I set the box down on the floor and then proceeded to open it.

Inside, much to my bewilderment, was a small electronic tablet. A sticky note was attached to the screen, with what was apparently the access code. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I punched in the digits on the screen, and sure enough the tablet unlocked. There seemed to only be one app on the thing, however. It was a video player, and after clicking on it, there was only one video in the library for me to look at. I took a deep breath before clicking on it and waited for the video to begin to play. When it did, I was met with a bearded man who appeared to be middle-aged. He apparently had been lacking sleep as of when the video was taken, as deep bags were under his eyes and his beard looked like it hadn't been trimmed in quite some time. At first, I was confused, thinking that this was some prank done by the Greeks. But when the man suddenly stepped back and had...well, horse legs, I realized I was watching none other the Chiron, the legendary trainer of the mightiest of heroes who also ran the camp. I almost bowed in respect of his presence before realizing that I was watching him on a video. Before I could throw away the tablet in my embarrassment, he began to speak.

"Dear Praetor. If you're getting this message, then Miss McFlyn has successfully made her way into your camp and into your care. I hope she made it there in one piece, but I'm certain you've given her any medical attention if she required it. For that, I thank you, and for the suddenness in this message, I apologize.

As you have likely found out by this point yourself, a new prophecy has been issued by Zeus, or in your case Jupiter, himself. It appears that the world is in danger, and we have a week to find whoever this Daughter of the Sea is before it's too late. I don't know how bad it's been on your end, but the sightings and severity of monsters has tripled in the last month, and things are only getting worse. There are forces out there that are no doubt behind this, and if things keep up, both of our camps will be in danger of being overrun.

While I know you in the Legion are a very intelligent bunch, I'm guessing that you're just as confused about this prophecy as we are. As of recording this message, we just received the prophecy yesterday. By the time this reaches you, it'll likely be three weeks since then. In that time, we've rounded up who we have selected to represent the Greeks, including the messenger who is now in your care. There should be an envelope in this box as well that contains plane tickets to arrive in Washington, D.C. There's you'll meet our people. Trust me, you'll know them when you see them.

I pray that we aren't too late, and that there's still a chance. Gods be with us all."

I stood there, shocked. I couldn't believe what was happening. The world was in danger of destruction according to some vague prophecy, and they now were going to have to go who knows where to stop it from happening with a group of people had been our enemies not too long ago? It was almost too much for me to handle. I wanted to just throw the box into the Tiberius and cover the crater with a rug and pretend that this never happened.

But it was happening, and as Praetor, it was my job to see it through. I looked up towards the two from Third.

"Assemble the Legion. We're...we're going on a quest."

Danann Kelly
Son of Demeter
I blame the Butterflies for Hellhounds

Look, it is really not my fault that we are fighting a pack of hell hounds right now. The Hermes kid did not have to follow me after that butterfly...okay maybe it was my fault for getting distracted by a butterfly and ending up outside of the camp boundaries. In my defense, that butterfly had really pretty wings and not getting a closer look would have been a crime.

Anyway, back to the situation at hand. We were maybe 500 feet outside of the boundaries when a pack of 12 hellhounds. The Hermes kid, I think his name was Jake, only has a dagger and shield but was fast. We could certainly handle this situation without help...I think. Tugging on the charm, Anthos grew into its 7 foot tall Scythe form and I took a battle stance ready for the first attack. Jake did the same waiting for the hellhound two make a move. They didn't however and acted strangely cautious for their species. There had been reports of increased monsters over the last few months and them acting strangely but I didn't take to much notice. All the big prophecies where long gone back when the seven defeated Gaia. With the hellhounds circling and refusing to attack, I chose to make the first move to break the deadlock. If there is one battlefield you should never fight against a child of Demeter in, it is the forest. Vines ripped off of trees entangleing two hellhounds forcing them to stay stationary as I leapt and sliced each clean in half. Their forms melted into golden dust putting their numbers down to ten. A senses of dread filled me and I quickly rolled to the left dodging a hellhounds strike from behind. You have got to love ADHD sometimes, it has saved me life.

Jake was holding his own as well weaving between hellhound while slashing at their sides. He used his small stature and quickness to his advantage forcing hellhounds to run into trees or each other. I would have gone to help him if not for the fact that I was surround by 7 of the remaining hellhounds cutting me off from Jake.

"I really don't like this. I just had to chase the butterfly into the forest. Why did I chase the butterfly?"

My monologue was interrupted by the swinging paw of a hellhounds right for my face. I didn't any damage to my good looks so I parried the blow before spinning and cleaving the hellhounds front two legs of rendering it unable to fight though not dead yet. If there was one advantage for me, it was that I had a scythe with a long range compared to the hellhounds. I could attack them before the could attack me but I could only do that for so long. Dodging and weaving blows along with power usage can tire you out pretty quickly even with our spartan training. I didn't need this going on much longer and I needed to make sure Jake was not injured. The hellhounds became cautious again circling around me rather than attacking, aware of my weapon's reach. That was perfect fine for me as it gave me time to bring out my signature style. Every child of Demeter has a way of using plants in battle and mine involves using them as arms. Pounding my palm into the ground, the plant life rose to life creating 6 tentacle like vines. In a instant they shot out and grabbed each hellhound entrapping them in a vice like hold. They were easy prey after that with a stationary target being nearly impossible to miss.

"Finally rid of those mangy mutts. This is exactly why I am a cat person. You don't see giant shadow cats come in packs trying to kill you. We are lucky that it was just hellhounds. If they were monsters with some actual brains, it would be more of a fight. Ain't that right Jake?...Jake?"

A small scream of pain broke me out of my words as I realized Jake was not in sight.

"Damn, I forgot we were separated."

I ran in the direction of the scream just in time to see a sword pierce through the head of the last hellhound. Jake had killed the ones that went after him it seemed but the 3 bloody claw marks on his upper left arm showed that it was not a easy fight. The kid has only been here for a few months so combat must still be new to him. My expirence and training over the years at camp along with the reach of Anthos allowed me to escape unharmed from the encounter but Jake's sword only measured at three feet giving him nearly the same reach as the hellhound.

"You good there Jake? I guess you now have you first battle scars and I am sure the Apollo kids will be glad to treat the actual wound."

A laugh escape from his lips before he groaned putting a hand over the wound. "Do me a favor the next time you come to me to talk, don't get distracted by a butterfly and follow it outside camp." Jake's voice fired at me.

I gave him a mock salute saying "Sir yes sir" getting a laugh from the both of us.

We retired to the camp after that with Jake heading to the Infirmary and I to my cabin but on the way I was stopped by none other than out head trainer himself Chiron.

"Danann" he said to me "I need to speak with you. Please follow me to the big house."

I did as I was told simply because you didn't disobey the legendary trainer of heroes. Upon arrival, I found myself in a room with 7 other campers. The only one I was really familiar with the Demeter Cabin's head counselor who tried to act as a big brother figure to the rest of cabin. The other cabins would sometimes find him cold and unwelcoming but his half siblings know the real Jed that rarely came out.

Chiron cleared his throats bringing all of our attention to himself at the front of the room.

"Now as you know, our oracle gave a new prophecy recently. What you don't know is that we believe it to be another great prophecy that involves the nine of you. It goes

The greatest foe shall walk the earth,
Upon Eagle and Spear he shall lay a curse,
In his hands he holds the Daughter of the Sea,
To end the world unless she be made free,
Before the Sun reaches its peak,
And the bond between allies becomes weak,
Against beasts stronger than any man,
Must band together Nine Greek and Nine Roman,
To the ancient fields in which they last fought,
Must all members be brought,
Eighteen of these shall set forth to war,
And to end that which was ended before.

Sarah the head consulor of the Ares cabin is also a member of this group and was dispatched to contact the romans about the prophecy. Who this daughter of the sea is we don't know but we did know that this must be another quest with both Roman and Greek halfbloods. As such, you all will be leaving soon to meet the Roman's I'm Washington DC."

I was in disbelief as were several others around the room. Not only was this a new great prophecy but one involving both Romans and Greeks. And I was part of it for some reason.

"A new great prophecy? That can't be right can it? The last great prophecy was that of the seven and now there is one involving 18 of us?" I said in a low voice that barely anyone could hear, my Southern Irish accent growing thicker as he tended to do when I was uncertain.

Jakkob, the Extremely Concerned Centurion

When you get a prophecy, it means something big. I don't mean like the size of Austin's mouth when he's screaming at me and his face is red big, I mean like I'm probably going to die sometime within the next year big. And that's no fun. Unfortunately, that also means Im no longer allowed to resign from the Centurion position to avoid this fate. Looks like I'm a goner.

"Asuka. Follow. Now." We made our way at a brisk pace to the 3rd cohort, where screaming and yelling was commonplace. Especially in that moment. They where in for a rude awakening. I found my 2nd in command very quickly, and she smiled.
"Jakkob, I was wondering-"
"Somethings happened. Asuka is acting second for now. Im placing you in charge of the 3rd cohort for now. Gather the legion."

She stuttered at first before rushing about.
"3RD COHORT, THERE'S AN EMERGENCY. WE NEED TO GATHER AT-"
We where out of earshot for the rest.
Me and Asuka quickly gathered other cohorts, and soon I stood before hundreds of leigonairies, quiet as death waiting for Austin to appear. I turned to Asuka for a quiet brief word.
"Rumor is a greek is in the camp. Have you heard anything?"

Jax was waiting silently, writing up some schematics for a mechanism he wanted to assemble for the next session of the war games, when the praetor, Austin, headed outside the room the "Graecus" supposedly was. Jax cracked a small smile when he saw the other legionnaires reactions when Austin arrived. Jax shook his head, and headed out of the infirmary, few moments after Austin did.

Jax exited the building, outside, where there was a hubbub of conversation. Jax noted Austin hurrying away, towards the augur. But Jax was interested in other things, he'd head over to the Augur's later. Jax looked around him, seeing a few legionnaires, wandering around the area. Jax looked down at his notebook, and drew a few lines on the page before stowing it away.

Jax looked further ahead, and back to the Augur's place. Jax saw Jakkob heading out of the building, in a rush to go somewhere. Jax raised an eyebrow, curious. Jax walked on over to where Jakkob was heading, arriving to the 3rd cohort just as they started making a bunch of noise. Jax didn't catch what they said, Asuka and Jakkob, that is, but eventually they gathered together with the other cohorts.

Jax headed out of the crowd, he preferred not to be so close to others, but it wasn't extreme. He just pretty much wanted room to write down all of his thoughts before they dissappeared again. Jax didn't hear anything, and the legion was quiet, for once, so he assumed nobody was saying anything. The one thing that seemed to be missing was the praetor, Austin. Jax shrugged, and waited for him, absently drawing schematics on his notepad.

Sarah McFlyn
After the Praetor and company left, Sarah sat up in the bed again.

Her jeans and shirt were still on, though her boots, Jacket, and knife were on the chair next to the bed. Luckily, her gloves were still on her hands.

Pawing at her wounded shoulder, she pulled her shirt up and over her head, leaving her in just a black sports bra and pants, and checked the wound. It hadn't gone in deep, but it would leave a scar for sure.

Sighing, she swung her legs over to the side of the bed and stopped. The IV was still in her arm. Grimacing, she gripped the tube and pulled it out in one clean swipe. Something she should have thought through though, as her arm began to bleed a bit. Reaching around she opened the door on the bed side table and fished through it's contents.

"Ah Ha!" She pulled out a small roll of gauze and wrapped it around her arm, stemming the bleeding and securing it with a strip of medical tape from the same drawer.

She stood up, her head spinning slightly and started to stretch, wincing at her stiff arm. she spied a door to her left and walked towards it and nearly fainted. It was a full bathroom and shower, something she hadn't seen in weeks. Looking around, she figured it was meant to be used by who ever was occupying her room.

Quickly slipping out of her pants and underwear, she left them on the bed and grabed a towel. Stepping in to the shower, she reached for the hot water knob and to her utter bliss, found it raining warm water on her in seconds.

Feeling the bliss of the first hot shower she had in more then two weeks, she let a song* escape her lips. She also forgot she left the shower door open.

Jakkob, the Cuthroat Rogue

After a moments comptemplation, I turned to Asuka and decided my final decision.
"I'm going to check the Greek. Until I get back, you're in charge. And since Austin put me in charge, that means your in charge. No matter what anyone besides Jenna and Austin says. Take care."

I was off like a jackrabbit, to the medical tent. I hit the brakes, as I came around the corner.
"Centurion of the 3rd Cohort. Let me through."
The probatios where stunned, and stuttering.
"Don't even think about it."

I stepped through the door, and immidiately saw underwear and clothes.
"Venus smiles on me today," I muttered. I could hear the shower going and feel the warmth and steam. The best part was how the door was still open.
"You know, you should keep this door closed Greek."

She had been in the last verse of the long, rinsing out her hair when the intruder made him self know.

Her head snapped to the boy standing in the door way and led loose a yelp. "Vges éxo! Boreíte Romaïkí skatá!" She cursed at him in Greek and picked up the soap bar and launched it at him.

As he did what he did, she reached for the towel and wrapped it around her self. To her dismay, it barely covered her chest and her womanhood, leaving little to the imagination.

"Do they teach you to fucking knock, Romany!" She stood in the middle of the bathroom, still dripping wet, her crimson hair clinging to her with one arm wrapped around her self, keeping the towel in place.

in the bathroom with a naked girl

Jakkob chuckled. "If it was a problem, you should have left the door closed. Jakkob grabbed her clothes and tossed them in before shutting the door to only open a few inches.

"So what's a greek doing at Camp Jupiter? And why doesn't she close the shower door unless she DOESN'T want some handsome, devilish, and charming, not to mention humorous bad boy to walk in?"

She blushed a deep shade of red at his remark, though her wit kicked in after he tossed in her things. "Dashing, maybe, Rougish, perhaps, isn't going to matter much when your in a damn coma."

She finished drying her self off, though she wished she had a hair dryer. Not because she "Wanted to look pretty" but because it was an easy and fast way to keep her hair from tangling.

To her dissatisfaction, he had neglected to throw in her knife, which meant she couldn't gut him with her sword...yet.

Slipping on her boots and jacket, she opened the door and made for her gloves. "My question stand, Romany, do they teach you lot to f-ing knock, or do they neglect to cover that in Legionary training."

In a girls room getting flirty

"Ha. You make me laugh," I chuckled. I pulled out my playing cards and began juggling 3 of them amongst myself. "Like I was ever anything besides centurion."

"So let's play a game. Question for question. My turn. What's a greek like you doing in a place like this?" I chuckled giving Sarah the lookdown. Whether or not she was good looking was beyond me. Sure she was nice, but when your in charge of the 3rd cohort AND the victor of the wargames, AND had someone like Asuka in your cohort, it didn't really matter.

Getting closer to a date with this babeI chuckled before throwing my 3 cards. They zipped around the room and landed back in my pocket.
"Don't worry. I'm all talk. Especially after winning a war game. Now what was your message for the centurion?"

I knew the Praetor would let us know what was going on. Austin wouldn't bother with secrets. No reason to waste time.

Asuka Tanaka

A quest.

A quest?

A quest.

This was big. Bigger than anything Asuka could think of. This event would be probably the second big turning point in her life, the first being the fact that she managed to get from the East Coast of the United States to the West Coast in one piece. In this event, she might perish on what is probably going to either be an adventure or a final stand.

Yay.

"Asuka. Follow. Now."

Jakkob's voice brought her out of her thoughts as she looked and blinked. Before she could respond, Jakkob had walked off. Asuka ran after him, and walked next to him. Asuka was tense, rubbing her hands together. She had no idea what to expect, since she actually hadn't seen or heard a prophecy before in person. As the two arrived at the gathering place for the Third Cohort, the usual noise of the numerous people being loud hit her. They didn't know what was coming. They didn't know the bad news yet.

Watching Jakkob, she listened to his exchange with the Second in Command. As she listened, she heard some words she didn't expect to hear.

"Somethings happened. Asuka is acting second for now. I'm placing you in charge of the 3rd cohort for now. Gather the legion."

Wait, what?

Before she could protest about Jakkob's decision, Jakkob went off again, away from the group. He said something to her, but Asuka didn't pay attention. She was busy brooding over the fact that she was now second in command of the entire cohort. As she thought in her head, Jakkob spoke again, this time loud enough for her to actually hear what important things he had to say.

""I'm going to check the Greek. Until I get back, you're in charge. And since Austin put me in charge, that means your in charge. No matter what anyone besides Jenna and Austin says. Take care."

Wait, what?

Once again, before she could say anything in protest, he left to go find the Greek that twas supposedly in camp. Honestly, she didn't know that there was a Greek in the camp. Did the person appear during the games? Is the person hurt? Is the person related to the entire thing that just happened? All these questions flew through Asuka's head as she rubbed her hands again to try to relax herself. It wasn't working. The thoughts came coming into her head as she waited for Austin.

As she waited for DEFCON 1.

Let down and becoming chronically depressed

Low blow. But It didn't matter. I had places to be.
"Well it was nice meeting you... whatever your name was. Also very fun to wait a few minutes and watch you shower. But, I have places to be, meetings to attend, and trophys to collect. So I'll see you... whenever."

I nodded and was up and out the door. When I went out this time, he noticed Maddison. Thankfully, I had come from the side and avoided being noticed before. This time however, I had taken notice of her, and couldn't get around without being seen.
Its okay. I can get away with this still. I turned putting a card to each of the probatios throats before a sound came out.
"I was in here when Austin came around, so help you gods."
I walked off in front of Madisson, feeling the mounting dread of knowing the probatios would probably rat on me when she called me.

As he walked out, she debated calling him back, maybe even apologizing. She instead spoke out to him as he left. "Its Sarah..." Dammit, you did again...stop being such an ass to people. She mentally kicked her self in the ass. Letting out a sigh, she stood up and walked towards the door. She was stopped though, by the two guards.

"Sorry miss, we have been told not to let you leave, Praetors orders?" She knew this, but played dumb anyway. "The fuck for?" "As I said miss, praetors orders." She scowled at him, staring beams of death in to this eyes, but ultimately turned back around and closed the door.

"Fucking hell." She flopped down on to her back on the bed, boredom setting it.

Maddison Perry
Second Cohort, Centurion

Maddison saw the Probatios leave in a flock; they were all curious, the Probatios even more so. They were all so very, very curious as one might be. It wasn’t unexpected; they were new at it all and Half-Blood had the same mythos as, say...Shangri-Lah. It was a place half-surrounded by myth and legend told about the campfires and homes of New Rome, when the Second Titanomachy came-about and killed so many.

Then Jakkob excited and she was a bit more concerned. He was a twit, to state the least, an annoyance in Maddison’s mind. “Hey, Jakkob, I hear they’re missing you over at the blind kid’s camp. I mean, it’s the only place you can get a date at.” Biting remarks weren’t something she specialized in. Then the girl nearly exited, halted by guards.

And so she entered the room as well.

The Greek...she looked...cute for a nearly dead person. On the whole, red hair was a cute thing. Made a person seem younger than they actually are. Pale skin made this all the more apparent, though if she was a Head Counselor for Ares then she wouldn’t be young at all. Medieval plate was near her collective stuff, taken-off. That was new, for Greeks. They seemed old-fashioned, for the most part.

“Good job, by the way. Getting here. Name’s Maddison, Maddison Perry.”
