LOL.

Also: "Assad must go"

Ok I'll agree to just democratically replace him with someone of the same calibre  Ba'athist Syria has not yet fallen.

Oh. I had an idea for the Portugese economy to never recover from the 2000 EU crisis and only be worsened by the 2008 Global Crisis which resulted in a merge.

Is that not allowed?

If so, I'll just be Spain, and RP it out (Portugal failing economy).

Do it IC and your good. If you do it peacefully then I don't think any nation will be mad so long as you don't go on a cultural cleansing of the Portuguese.

NS Nation Name: San Regada
RL Country Chosen: Spain
Name of Leader: Valentina Iglesias García
Appearance of Leader: Observe
Biography of Leader: She was born on a military base near Madrid and raised by a very traditional family before the moved to live from her aunt who came from very wealthy background, she went to university in Barcelona where she studied law, politics and economics. It was at university where she began to get a strong sense of nationalism as she was exposed to various underground nationalist organizations, she also grew a strong distaste for the EU and was concerned over the status of NATO-Russia relations, fearing Spain might be drawn into a war. She also grew a strong distaste of the UK over Gibraltar. She soon became the President of her nationalist organization and transformed it into a political party after the graduated, becoming encompassed by several center-right and right wing organizations, She soon became the flag girl of Spanish nationalism and won elections in 2016.
History of Nation: Following the Spanish return to democracy in the the late 1970's, Spain joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to contain the threat of Communism and began a new military buildup that dwarfed those conducted by Generalissimo Francisco Franco. With access to Western military markets, the Spanish Armed Forces gradually became one of the most effective fighting forces in Western Europe and dwarfed the rest of NATO's in size due to conscription, with substantial help from the United States to equip and train its military. Spain joined the European Economic Community which helped boost the Spanish economy due to easy access to European markets and unemployment declined sharply, as the GDP spiked upwards and the nation enjoyed economic prosperity as it exported many items to Europe. With the end of the Cold War, Spain withdrew from NATO but upheld its historic alliance with the United States, continuing further military and economic cooperation, however, with free markets now in Russia and with China emerging as an economic superior, Spain began to turn more and more to the emerging Eastern Powers, slowly replacing the United States and ending up in a balance of economic cooperation between Russia/China and the United States, one nation could not sink the economic hold of the other nations in Spain.

During the 1990's nationalism in Spain such as in Catalonia was put down through a mixture of harsh economic, military and political means and massive purges resulted in the near collapse of most provincial separatist movements and autonomous regions were closely integrated into Spain to make governance easier. Gradually, through education and forced integration, separatism dwindled as the new generation was raised up away from separatist tendancies and not exposed to regional culture, as it was replaced with unified Spanish culture. Spain also withdrew from the European Economic Community in 1993 as the European Union was formed, however it did not join the European Union and opened itself up to the global market, allowing for no dependency on the Common Market and Spain becoming one of the major lenders of aid during the 2000 EU economic crisis to several EU nations, which helped boost the economy even more. Spain became a major player in Europe and an investment hub for nations that were looking to avoid the chaos and regulation of the European common market. Throughout the 2000's Spain began embarking on the journey of hefty economic nationalism to protect itself from economic sanctions or withdrawal of investments by the United States, China or Russia as the Spanish economy continued to distance its dependence from that of Europe and America and Asia. The 2008 global crisis only empowered Spain even more due to economic instability amongst the EU and once again, Spain was one of the major lenders of economic grants to countries such as Greece, Ireland, Italy and other Central European nations, and Spains military buildup continued and Spain rejoined NATO in 2006 however the rift between NATO and Spain has gradually increased, especially over key issues such as Gibraltar and the fear of a war between NATO and Russia. With continuous economic prosperity and being generally left out of Europes hardships, Spain has flourished as a state, however... there is one key issue that has been left unanswered:

NATO or Russia?

RP History or Example: Above is kind of an example :p ^^

It's actually not that big. Using Globalfirepower.com, I worked out with an economy that is a bit more powerful than Spain's irl which would result in an increased defence budget and also a few more citizens here and there because of a lesser need to seek better economic opportunity in another country, and universal conscription of male and females it would number at about 600k maximum in peacetime (bare in mind this means that there is some sort of liable threat or solid reason why we would be at a maximum peacetime limit; the more peace there is, the less troops will be active at one standing time). If I was to push it, I think I could mobilize just about 1 million men in an absolute all out war, similar to how the Turks had about 1 million men standing in 2015.

Hey France, do you mind Spain having previously replaced it's 66 CASA C-101 Aviojet's and Northrop F-5's with an upgraded version of the Dassault Rafale (Rafale S, S for Spain) which would incorporate things from the Eurofighter to make it very compatible with the Eurofighter in terms of Air to Air engagement (basically the Rafale has the advantage vs the Eurofighter in dogfighting but the Eurofighter has the advantage in First look, first kill, BVR and WVR engagement). The improvements would be implementing the Euroradar CAPTOR and two way data link and its radar would be mounted on a repositioner. Furthermore, there would be way more integration of Helmet Mounted Display and also more integration of foreign weapons systems. I plan to also be domestically producing it but will not sell or transfer it to other nations without the permission of France.

Hey America, would you mind Spain having replaced its 86 F-18B/C's with F/A-18F's? I also need to have acquired 60 AH-64D Apache's and 330 helicopters which will be split as 230 UH-60L'S and 100 UH-1H Huey's and Hey Russia, would you mind Spain having replaced its 35 T-35 Pillán's with Yak-130's, dubbed Yak-130MS? It would be upgraded to incorporate systems from the Eurofighter and be able to use both Western and Eastern weaponry.

Since my Spain is much more militarily capable, yeah. I'm keeping everything jotted down on a notepad file too.

I'm also having all Santa María class Frigates replaced as Álvaro de Bazán class Frigates of F-105 standard and also all existing Álvaro de Bazán class Frigates will be of F-105 standard. My defence budget is going to be at a cap of about $60 billion. More Galicia-class LPD's and Juan Carlos I LHD's will already be in construction and I plan to have a greater number of these two classes compared to Spain irl due to the fact that Galicia takes a year to construct and launch whilst Juan Carlos I takes 4 years. My increase in ship size will also include the cancelled original F-105 and F-106 which will also be to the modern F-105 ship standard, and it takes about 3 years to construct, lay down and commission a Álvaro de Bazán class which began production in 1990's which means I can also have a larger number of Álvaro de Bazán class' than Spain irl. Due to the fact that my Spain is more economically strong and industrialized, construction times may be slightly shorter. All 23 of my Patrol boats will be replaced with Steregushchiy-class Corvette's (which has been in production since 2001) which will take systems from the F-105 Álvaro de Bazán class and be produced locally as Cazadora class Corvette. There will be an increase in Cantabria class Replenishment ships as well as other smaller ships such as Segura class minehunters.

Sure.

Hey America, you have 16 out of service Los Angeles-class submarine (688) which can be modernized to a new standard (688i). Since the US irl is focused on the Virginia-class submarine, mind giving some, if not all LA-class Submarines to Spain after having jointly modernized them in the early 2000's? You also have one out of service 688i class which I would also appreciate receiving.

I mean since I'm not using them I will start by giving you 10 of the subs and the 688i.
