Hogwarts y1: The Light in The Dark [IC/Closed]

Postby New Roman Empire » Tue Feb 14, 2017 2:08 pm

Listen to this as you read
So a battle ensured in Hogwarts, the serial killer Dan Assshard was arrested for the murder of three students and the death of an Auror in that fight. Rachel and several other students were injured and leadership amongst the first years seemed to be budding many realizing that there could always be more people like this. While the rest of the school celebrated, the Pureblood Supremacists gathered and talked about their next move. While the other students celebrated, several students stood out from the rest, Andrew who had healed a dying student after the fight had concluded, Marcus for disarming a attacker and well Catie's her sexual house elf torturing dungeon has mysteriously been kept a secret. As well as many others, Professor Gleen has some how convinced McGonnagall to allow his class to allow him to have a camping trip in the dark forest. He has decided that he wants his students to get first hand experience with these creatures and to learn how to defend themselves.

Rolls since the last Rp:

Dice Roll stories:

Rachel was caught out of bed while she was in the hostpital wing and cost her house 30 points for her recklessness(rolled a 1). Crassus earned 20 points for his help in making sure the library books had been put back on the shelf (rolled a 5). Derek was caught out of bed at night by Filch and lost 30 points (rolled a 1). Due to Lauren's resourcefulness on the last day of class Professor Jackle awarded her 30 points (Rolled a 6)

Caite managed to torture a hosue elf and got I to say she saved her life and gained 30 points (rolled a 6). Henrey was caught trying to use a curse on a student and lost 20 points (Rolled a 2). Marsha Windowlock aced her potions test and gained 20 points (rolled a 5). Jackson was award 20 points for disarming Professor Gleen for practice(Rolled a 4). Jeniffer Lackey was caught snoggin' in the hallway lost 10 points (Rolled a 3). Josh Rodesh was awarded 10 points for being the top of his class for the day (rolled a 4).

Christmas break had come and now it was the final day of break, Adam had stayed at Hogwarts with his step siblings. He had spent most of his time playing wizard's chess, he had destroyed a few of his fellow first years and a few older students. But most of the time when he went against the older students he would get destroyed, but he had enjoyed the snow. Several times they had a snowball fight in the courtyard and came in soaking wet from the snow. Adam was in the kitchen eating a slice of bread that Voorey had given him, "So Voorey, whats the story with the crippled elf over there with all the bandages?" Asked Adam as he took a seat at the counter and examined the elf from afar.

"Voorey doesn't know master Tarkin, she doesn't speak a word about what happened. Vorrey tired to get her to speak master but she wont budge and Voorey cant go complain or the same thing might happen to Voorey." Informed Voorey as he shuttered at the thought and walked back to his station in the kitchen.

"Don't worry Voorey, you wont have to Ill ask around to see if anyone saw anything. Though if it was a wizard they wont speak out against who ever did this for they would be scared for their lives." Informed Adam as he finished his slice of bread and walked into the common room where he saw James Swindle one of the Hufflepuff Prefects. "Hey James, do you know what happened to one of the House Elves? She looks like she has been beaten or tortured or something." Informed Adam as he took a seat on the couch across from where James was sitting.

"Well I haven't seen anything but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened, people who beat the house elves should be punished. I will keep my eyes open if I see anything I will report it." Informed James as he closed his book and stood up. Adam sighed and looked into the fire place and just sat there relaxing.

Henry's winter vacation was quite an exciting one. Riding the Hogwarts express home from Hogwarts in a compartment with Caitie, Marcus and Ava, Henry arrived to find Malvolio Glacies talking with his father. Thomas Grey explained that he had run into Malvolio on the platform and had found out that both families were to be spending Christmas Break in Sweden. Since they were both staying in stockholm both families were going to be doing activities together. And so it was that Henry and Caitie spent Christmas together in Sweden, meeting with Henry's Great Aunt, who was trying to become minister, viewing Sea Serpents in the fjords, watching the opening match of the Oxford Occalys, in which they thumped the Stockholm Shortsnouts. They also learned much more about Dark Wizardry, as the Swedes are much more lax about it. Henry even learned the Swedish Shin Shot, a jinx that knocked a person over by a sudden force to their shins. Finally, after observing the Northern Lights, powerful currents of wild magic, the two families headed hoe. Henry and Caitie boarded the Hogwarts Express with Marcus. After settling in Henry said "Well, time for school to start again. You think the Gryffindor girl is going to be out of the hospital wing?"

Caitie

As Henry asked about Rachel, Caitie only shrugged, before looking out of the window. They were heading back to school a day early, and Caitie was already missing home.

No bloody aurors, pesky teachers, or annoying students to worry about at home

The vacation in Sweden had been nice, of course, but the real gift Malvolio had given his daughter were two house elves for her own personal use. The Leader of the Opposition had presented the pair with a rare smile to his favourite child.

"They're loyal to a fault," he said proudly. "They would quite literally die for you, my dear."

But really her thoughts were towards the highlight of the holiday

But that's remembrance for a little later she thought as she turned back to Henry.

"I'm just looking forward to trying out a few new tricks."

Lauren
Great Hall

I JUST LOOOOOOVE CHRISTMAS!!!
Lauren had gotten a lot of things for Christmas, or whatever the Brits called it over here.
Some things included: a new set of textbooks from various teachers, a hand written note by Gleen thanking her for doing her best in the duel in the Great Hall on that day the killer had been caught, and candy.
Lauren and Derek had been sent to the Infirmary for "shock reasons" but both of them knew the real reason was to see if they had any effects to the spell that had been used on both of them.
They had turned out fine, however, and had been free to leave around an hour after arriving.

A week ago, Derek had been caught out of bed by Flitch, causing the House to lose another 30 points, and Derek never gave a reason why and no one pursued it.
Lauren had shown off her resourcefulness in Jackle's class and had been awarded with 30 House Points.
Also, exams had been canceled, so the rest of the year had been a breeze.
Both Derek and Lauren had stayed at Hogwarts during the Break.
Today was the last day of Christmas Break, and Lauren was talking to Derek in the Great Hall while eating breakfast.

James Abbott

Christmas Break was over. It had been fun while it lasted- but now it was time to return to classes, to studying, and to Hogwarts. James had, of course, left the school to visit his parents over the break, and the Abbotts had enjoyed a cheerful Christmas in their home. It had been quite chilly, but James didn't mind. He rather liked the cold, as well as the frost and snow. On Christmas Day he had awoken to mountains of presents, including a practical cornucopia of taffy and confections. They also got him several figurines of dragons, which, being magical, flew around and moved as if they were alive. Also was a large selection of school supplies, including glossy new books and fresh potion stocks, a variety of quills(including eagle-feather, peacock-feather, and, James' favorite, sugar quills), and warm winter robes.

However, behind the façade of happiness, James could tell his parents were worried. In hushed voices they talked about the attacks that had rocked Hogwarts before Christmas Break, and James was worried that they would pull him out of school. Thankfully, however, they did not, and instead of pestering him with questions about the battle they ignored it completely and instead asked him to demonstrate the spells he had learned so far.

Now James was back on the train to Hogwarts, enjoying the last of his sweets and conversing with some other Pure-bloods in his carriage. Before the break Professor Gleen had sent them home with permission slips for a very exciting field trip- into the Forbidden Forest. That was something you'd expect to do in Care for Magical Creatures, and James had to wonder what they would be doing in the Forest, making him very curious and eager to go. He had been almost certain his parents wouldn't let him, but after some prodding they actually agreed. So that was something to look forward to.

The train chugged into its station and James, devouring one last hapless Chocolate Frog, gathered his heavy trunks and made his way out of the carriage.

Rachel Ackerley
The Great Hall

Rachel recovered rather quick relative to Pomfrey's expectations, and was released from the hospital wing as the Christmas break started with little more than bandages around her abdomen as the injuries finished healing up. She had spent the break with her father and grandparents on her father's side, practicing various spells for defense and amusement. One of the most cherished gifts she received over the holidays was a brand new broomstick; a Cleansweep Eleven to be exact. It wasn't the fastest of broomsticks, but very high quality for Quidditch, including a built in anti-jinx varnish. It was this broom that she practiced on for the majority of the break to get even better at flying. She was hell bent on joining the Quidditch team the next year.

She arrived quite early in the morning at Hogwarts the day before Christmas break was over and classes would resume. She slowly flew into the Great Hall on her broomstick to notice there were very few people inside eating breakfast. Must be very early... She spotted Derek and Lauren sitting at one of the tables, and got a 'brilliant' idea. Rachel smirked as she quietly floated upward until she was about six or seven feet above the two before pulling out her wand. She threw her right leg over the left side of the broom as if she was sitting down on one side and leaned back, dangling upside down; a trick she learned a week back. She got as close above the two as she could without them noticing her and aimed her wand downward at Derek's food; specifically at a slice of toast lying on his plate. She waited for Derek to pick it up before whispering, "Pullus!" With a poof of feathers, the slice of toast would transform into a small chicken right in Derek's hands and begin clucking away, much to the surprise of him and Lauren.

It worked! Rachel thought to herself as she suddenly burst out into laughter at the scene. She laughed hard enough that she nearly lost balance, throwing her free hand back up to the broom as her legs slipped off, now hanging off the broom by one hand. Should the two notice her at this point, Rachel would throw a friendly wave towards them. "Morning!" She looked in much better condition than before the break, luckily. The only difference in appearance would be her hair, which had oddly been cut shorter than she normally had it over the break.

Timothy T. Avery
Looking up from the new novels his parents had bought, and half gnawing a biscuit, he heard the cluckle of a chicken. He couldn't help but giggle as well, and flicked his wand down lazily. The chicken continued to cluckle and squawk in confusion as it was levitated to a nearby empty pot, where it would be harmlessly placed. Aside from the continued protests and pecks from inside the pot, the chicken was relatively fine.

Getting up and striding over to the injured Gryffindor, he beamed. "Glad ta' see that yer back on yer feet. Or rather, yer broom..."

Returning home for a nice Avery style Christmas, and being reenchanted by shopping in Hogsmeade had reignited his passion for learning. Screw the Slytherins! He was a wizard, and he ought to behave as such. No petty pranks or bullying will set him down, no sir! Not while he was practicing his spells and brushing up on new potions, he was certain to make his mark. Even if gaining points for House Slytherin didn't mend his reputation, it would prove he was willing to work with other people.

Hopefully the other houses would be more reasonable...

As the floating broom piqued his curiousity, Timothy naturally began to ask questions. "So, what sort of a broom is it? Make, model, whatnot..."

Upon arriving back at Hogwarts, Henry Immidiaetly allowed Caitie's new house elves to take his luggage upstairs, changing into his shimmering new Ultramarine Oxford Occaly's uniform, taking out his Firebolt Supreme and taking off, his lift off creating a sudden gust. His hair flying off his face, Henry began to go through various advanced quidditch forms, performing a spectacular set of dives, rolls, hangs and surfs with his broom. Finally, out of his pouch, Henry dropped a few swedish Imp Makers on the crowd of students below, filling them with the desire to cause mischief and chaos. Flying in lesiruily on his broom, he watched as Peeves saw the small horde of new pranksters flood the hall, then give Henry an approving nod. Henry then floated into the Great Hall, dismounted his gilded broom, and sat down at the only table in the hall until dinner.

Caitie: Two Days Ago

The trip to Marcus' ancestral home didn't take long for the pair. The Castle wasn't far from the city of Canterbury, less than two hours from London by muggle standards, and Caitie personally was looking forward to the trip.

Marcus had told her everything, and this was her chance to pay him for putting up with her "other side". Malvolio was more than sympathetic, arranging for a ministry car to take the three of them and a house elf to Canterbury, under the pretence that Malvolio has business with local wizards and witches there. The trip was planned when Marcus knew his parents wouldn't be home, but his brother would be.

Caitie smiled when he opened the door and saw not only the brother he used to torment, but the blonde witch and a house elf.

"What?" Was all he could say before being flown back from the banishing charm, knocking him out as he hit the wall.

When he finally came to, he would find himself suspend from the ground by a few metres, his arms and legs spread tightly, bound to the four corners of the room, so that he resembled a person falling from midair. The second thing he noticed was that he was completely naked, and he was gagged..

"Oh, so you've finally come to. I was afraid I was too rough. Did you bring the wand?" The house elf walked up to Caitie, handing her not her own wand, but his. Caitie smiled

"So here's what we're going to do. I'm going to play a little game where every time you make a sound it's going to hurt a little more. Sound good to you?" she turned to Marcus and nodded, before pointing the wand at her victim.

"Crucio!" she announced, hitting him with the curse but only for a fraction of a second. Still, for that half a second the all consuming pain shot through her victim's body, his body writhing and his gagged screams echoing throughout the chamber. Caitie's smiled only grew wider.

"Oh, so you want more, eh?" She repeated the spell, but for a longer period. Again, his body ached with the pain of a million knives stabbing him without end, the pain causing him to vomit despite the old rag serving as a gag. For the next hour, Caitie continued to subject him to the Cruciatus Curse for longer and longer intervals, until reaching almost fifteen full minutes.

She lowed her arm, frowning. The screams were loud, but Caitie could tell that she was still too young to truly get the effects she wanted. She would try a different approach. Pushing some hair out of her face and raising her arm, Caitie cast the severing charm, waving the wand like a whip.

Caitie started with the feet, cutting gashes into his soles with the depth and pain of paper cuts. When she was finished with each incision, the house elf rubbed alcohol over the wound, for added pain. Over the course of the next two hours she repeated the process over his entire body, and the cries of pain and calls for mercy continued to grow louder. The blood loss was minimal, but was starting to make the poor man delirious.

Satisfied with that, Caitie asked the elf to bring a stool over, so she could stand over Marcus' brother.

"Tighten the binds," she ordered, which the elf dutifully did. She pointed the wand at his arm joint.

"Flipendo!" she chanted, the jinx trying to repulse his arm, but was itself stopped by the tightness of the bound, causing stress on the bone and finally forcing it to break under the pressure. Caitie smiled, as the spell had the effect she desired. She repeated the jinx on his other limbs. Caitie jumped off the stool where she was finished and sauntered over to her victim, who was practically passed out from the pain.

"Don't worry my friend, we are almost finished, I assure you." Caitie then looked over to the elf, who nodded. He hobbled over to Marcus' brother's genitalia and pulled it down. The victim understood what was happening, and tried to struggle and protest, but to no avail. With the simple words of the severing charm, it was over, and his horrid cries filled the chamber. Caitie turned to Marcus.

"He'll bleed out soon," she reasoned. "do what you want before we leave." Caitie turned to the elf, handing him the wand. "Ransack the house, make it look like a standard crime. You know what to do from there."

Present

Back at Hogwarts, Caitie sighed as Henry told her remaining elf to take their luggage to their rooms.

"Here we go," she said simply

Belladonna had just come back from Christmas break and was walking to Hogwarts arm in arm with Mai, whom she'd become best friends with over the last few months. Black windswept hair flowed into cherry red as the two chatted on their way to class, Bella decided to go with a different color this semester, the indigo blue was lovey but just for kicks why not switch it up.

"So what did you do for Christmas, Mai-chan?" Bella asked, she was learning Japanese. "I'm Japanese, we don't celebrate Christmas." Mai pointed out with a laugh. "Oh yeah. So, did you do anything over break?"

Marcus: two days ago

Marcus had watched Caitie get to work on his brother with a massive beaming smile across his face. He'd given her a lot of details on things to do, and it was good that she'd taken them well and truly to mind...his brother was screaming, just the way he liked him.
Despite what Caitie had done, Marcus still couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't quite enough, and so when she departed he spent considerable time healing all of his wounds: the cuts, the broken arm, he even crudely re-attatched his genitalia. Believing that his life would be saved, he began to try and thank him threw the gag, as Marcus soothingly stroked his brothers hair before retreaving the others wand from the floor and beginning his work.

When his parents found his brother, it would be in pieces. Fingers subdivided, separated from hands. The same treatment done on the feet, the spine, the ribs...all in all Marcus' older brother was in more than 400 pieces scattered around the room, all neatly severed from one another...Marcus had only paused to spit upon the corpse.

Now

Why bother getting off your broom if you were the best flier in the school? That was what Ava thought anyway, as she circled into the great hall, flying low to the ground before banking high in fast, gut-wrenching movements. Spotting Henry, she began to fly in tight circles around his head, trying to distract him from his pranking, before banking up high, jumping from her broom and catching it with one hand, letting it guide her to the breakfast tabl. She sat with the rest of her friends, and set about filling herself with as much food as she could get into her face, only managing to mutter to Caitie "How was Sweden?" between mouthfuls.

Andrew

Andrew had a brilliant Christmas break. He'd been given books on muggle medicine from his father, knowing that he was almost obsessed with the stuff, along with a few nice shirts. His mother, on the other hand, had bought him a few books on wizarding medicine - to balance it out - and even tought him a spell "Episkey!" he chanted, trying to get the incantation right every time he had purposely split his lip, trying to test it out afterwards.

Walking into the Great Hall a week later, though, found him amazed. Rachel, the girl who had almost died two weeks earlier, was not only walking - but flying on her broom, casting the greatest spell he'd ever seen. It was even better than Ducklifors. Quickly, he strode over after seeing the effects of the spell "Oh my lord, what spell is that?" he asked with a grin, watching the chicken being levitated into the pot.

Adam Tarkin

Adam finally decided to get up and head to the great Hall. He figured people would be coming back today and hopefully some of Rachel and Andrew would be back by now. As he left the kitchen he took note of the house elves present so that way he would know if something happened to one of them when he came back. After getting to the main floor he entered the great Hall to see Derek, Lauren, Rachel, and Andrew. He saw Rachel laughing over a floating pot and a chicken, he shook his head and smiled. "Hey guys! How was your breaks?" Asked Adam as he took a seat next to them. He thought about telling them what he had saw earlier, but he wasn't sure if now was the best time. "So I was talking to Voorey earlier this morning, there was a house elf who bandages who looked like she had been tortured or beaten or something." Whispered Adam as he didn't want anyone else to over here.

Caitie

She rolled her eyes as Ava stuffed her face like an animal.

Does she have any self-respect? She might be a skilled flier, but that doesn't mean you act like that in front of people. Do so on your own time

"It was nice," she replied simply, not really touching her own food but playing with it, before pushing it away from her altogether. "pretty relaxing, and at least there were no aurors snooping around."

((OOC: I hope no one minds me linking Marcus and Ava together? *waits two seconds* They don't? Good.))

IC:

Marcus and Ava
"I can't stand those," Ava scowled. "They treat us as if we're criminals just because our parents had some degree of taste in who to have kids with. Myself I'm quite happy their's absolutely no mud rushing around my veins."
She pushed her own plate away, however hers was completely empty, it was also her third. She stretched, trying to get rid of the post-breakfast cramp that always followed in the footsteps of a good, ava-sized breakfast. "My parents have bought nimbus by the way," she told everyone. "Only firebolt and cleansweep left as the only independent broom manufacturers now. If we can get a hold of those we'll own pretty much the whole market."

Marcus noticed Caitie was eating. He'd become intensely loyal to her over the past few months and was concerned that something was wrong with her. "You alright?" he asked softly, leaning over to speak quietly.

True Christopia wrote:Andrew

Timothy turned and grinned at Andrew. "Nice to see you again." he beamed firstly, then chuckled. "That spell was... "Paul-lus", I think is how it's pronounced." he looked to Rachel for an answer, then shrugged. "I'd still stick with Duckfloris, Chickens have been known to be quite fiesty. Wouldn't want one pecking yer eye out as soon as you conjured it."

He would then turn his attention to the smiling Hufflepuff...Adam he believed his name was, and was startled by the news. His voice went softer and his eyes almost immediately glanced at Caitie and her gang. Once certain she would not be eavesdropping, Timothy hissed a Quietus.

"Ye best be mindful wi' that sort o' information." he nodded at Adam. "But are ye absolutely certain that it wasn't an accident? Did ye tell Madam Pompfrey or the head chef 'bout it?"

Even though the killer had been apprehended, it appeared that there was still mischief abound in Hogwarts. Someone or a collective of someones was testing out new spells on the hapless students, and the more unbalanced members would be quickly apprehended so as not to cause too much suspicion. A false flag, or red herring, save with real life consequences. Timothy's first thought would be Caitie, as she possessed the charisma and backing to pull off such a conspiracy. But something nagged at him to remain skeptical. After all, he had managed to ruffle her feathers with merely a muggle textbook and some Shakespearean wit. If she could so easily be provoked by someone standing up to her, it's unlikely that she would be the mastermind...

Caitie

"It's no surprise given who's running the Ministry these days," Caitie hissed, thinking to the one time she had met Minister of Magic Granger. Caitie was left unimpressed by her father's former classmate and one of the most famous witches in modern history.

She won the war, but has lost the peace, Caitie thought, musing on the rise of supremacy groups on all points on the axis of politics. Caitie looked over to see that Tim was shooting daggers in the their direction. She frowned, pointing her wand from under the table to his goblet.

"Sanguine," she muttered under her breath, before turning to see Marcus.

"Nothing," she replied. "I'm just not feeling very hungry today."

Marcus and Ava

"What do you expect?" Ava asked. "Mud-bloods protecting mud-bloods. My parents keep beating themselves up over the war, saying that if they'd gone out to fight it might have tipped the balance a bit more."
Marcus took the fact that Caitie wasn't hungry as permission to liberate her bacon and sausages fro her, smiling as she turned Tim's drink to blood. "He's funny," he smiled. "He gets his arsed kicked on a regular basis but he loves it so much he comes up for more every day. Pretty cute."

Timothy

Noting the scent of copper suddenly in his milk, Timothy realized that it had turned crimson. Widening his eyes in surprise, he sighed.

Glad to see Caitie earned the coal in her stocking... he mused. Nodding at the rest of the group, he mumbled " 'Scuse me..." he then got up and pitched the former beverage away. Slipping his wand beneath his left sleeve, ready for whatever mischief Caitie had planned as well.

Caitie

The young witch shrugged.

"Some men should realise when they are beaten," she replied with a smile, her mind turning towards her little field trip from a few days ago.

He knew when he was beaten, and like all pigs accepted his slaughter with all the glee a swine could comprehend. Caitie's thoughts were cut short as she noticed from the corner of her eye that Tim was walking over to their end of the table.

"Avery," she said with a bit of malice. "come from on high to talk with us commoners?"

[b]Marcus[/b

Marcus grinned, evidently having the same thoughts as Caitie. His brother had seemed so happy when he thought that Marcus was going to save his life, but his face was a beautiful picture once he began detatching his pictures.
"Avery," he smiled. "How did a family with such a great past produce something like him? Two of Lord Voldemorts closest followers were of that name. Unless he's no relation, and he's just like some fake watch or something, trying to pass off as the original."

"Damn, is everybody assholes in this joint? Well except for that kid from America and you. I liked him, whatever happened to him?" Belladonna asked herself under her breath as she sat at the Hufflepuff table and looked over at the Slytherin table, Mai across from her. She was too far away to see exactly what happened, but there were two blonde Slytherin girls and
a redheaded boy that stood out to her. Quite frankly because they gave her the creeps. One of the blondes, Caitlin or whatever, there was something off with that girl and Bella could feel it. And that redhead, all she knew was that his name started with an M and he seemed alright last semester. But he came back from break totally weird.

"I know, they creep me out too. As long as they don't bother us we should be okay, let's just sit here and hope nobody notices we exist. Don't stare, you'll turn to stone." Mai whispered in Japanese. Bella tilted her head in acknowledgement. "I still only understood about ten words of that sentence but if you say so. I don't trust those kids. Especially that Cait what's her face, she gives me the creeps." the Metamorphmagus whispered back, giving one last glance before turning her eyes back to her food.

Henry simply snorted saying "Clearly he has the idea that he is better than us. Silly I'm afraid. Doesn't he know that the 28's time is up?"

Timothy

With all the placid coldness of a paste on plastic smile, the young Slytherin addressed his rival. "Mademoiselle Glacies." he began with a polite grin. "I'm utterly enthused that we live in a day and age where the peasantry can indulge in the delights of faraway lands..." he helped himself to yet another cup of milk. "Not to mention, the top box seat at the Occalys! By the way, did you see how the Badgers trounced the Shorsnouts? I read about it in the Prophet afterwords..."

Perhaps with a bit of civility, Glacies would prove to be...tolerant towards him.

"Not everyone popped out as a hurricane summoning genius of magic." Timothy mildly sipped the small amount of milk before it could be turned to blood. "Even the late Dark Lord couldn't do everything on his own..."

"Oi," Ava said, kicking Henry playfully under the table. "Some of the twenty-eight are doing stuff with their lives, you know. Just because you fly a rubbish broom, doesn't mean that we all want to do that. And besides, you're just jealous your family didn't manage to join us."
