Altito, what plan did you have for getting the characters together, by the way?

Hayleen Kawley is going to do something big. There will be an event happening in a mall or in the airport. Everyone can be at the airport/mall, but it's not an obligation.

After that happened, the whole LA, and possibly the world, is going in for a shock. Not entirely big, but to the point where one wonders how he is able to do that.

Would you prefer that our characters are at the airport/mall, or not? I could easily have mine go there, or have her do something else.

Just saiyan OP but to the untrained eye, Kelley would pass for a female with ease. That's the whole point of a 'trap' as opposed to a 'drag queen'.

I'm not sure where this draws the line between realism and fantasy, but I'm sure that mutations can apply to things besides hoomies.... right?

This is not final. Subject to change.

Super Identity: Parasite

Real Identity: For all intensive purposes, Parasite is known officially as VX-101.
Age: Varies, depending on host. VX-101 was apparently synthesized approximately a year prior to the events of this RP, though.
Gender: Varies, depending on host. As a virulent agent, VX-101 doesn't really have a "gender", but for now I'll use a masculine personality.
Nationality: Ditto.
Appearance: Ditto. VX-101, when underneath a microscope, is a massive and notably red pathogen, able to change its shape and size like most other organisms of its size. To the naked eye, it is nearly invisible for obvious reasons.
Costume Appearance (If you have one): Would a virus really have a tiny costume?
Height: Varies depending on host. VX-101, in full size, is 400 nm
Weight: Ditto. As for VX-101, I doubt this would even be a thing for a, YKNOW, microscopic organism.

Powers:
  • Virus Mimicry: VX-101, obviously, is a virus - at least, one with sentience, and obviously retains the abilities commonly found in an organism of his likes.
  • The VX-101 Agent: Originally intended to be a "cure to end all cures", the VX-101 agent became the exact opposite to that, and, after gaining sentience and bonding with a mutant gene, would grow to become something much more powerful.. something nobody ever expected it to become. While VX-101 can act normally as a conventional virus, its sentience and adoption of a mutant gene allows it to do much more than that.
    • Parasitic "Symbiosis": VX-101 feeds mainly on intelligence, which in turn allows it to become more intelligent overall. Whatever host is infected by VX-101 feels absolutely no symptoms, and, most of the time, is unaware that VX-101 has even hijacked their brain. To keep the user alive, VX-101 effectively adopts and becomes the personality of its host, albeit somewhat "changed" in nature, meaning more aggressive habits and decisions. When VX-101 has finished feeding on intelligence or other matter, it may spread itself to another organism, leaving the previous host in a weakened and often fatal state.
    • Possessive Body Manipulation: This is where the "mutant" part of VX-101 comes in. Officially to VX-101, this is known as "rapid adaptation", where the body may rapidly adapt itself to monstrous figures depending on the need. VX-101 is capable of altering the genetic structure of hosts to even the most extreme of levels, ranging from simple bodily fixes to recover from a car crash, to becoming a monstrous mass of biomass that is barely recognizable as a human, if anything else. The main application behind this is for consuming other matter, namely other humans and altering 101's own body structure, but can also be used for combative applications, or even for defending the host itself. It should be noted that VX-101 feels no pain in the transformation, giving the host a higher pain tolerance overall when under 101's direct control.

TL;DR: Virus hijacks brains and turns people into The Thing

Equipment: None. Depending on the host, however, what's on hand will work.

Weaknesses: Besides strong medication, antibodies and the like, VX-101 is completely vulnerable when exposed to extreme temperatures, both hot and cool, and from extreme temperature changes. VX-101 will become
Significantly weaker if it goes a day without consuming, and is completely dependent on its host for nutrients and food. Therefore, starving him is a viable option. When in his virus state, VX-101 is effectively blind, relying on his senses to guide him rather than the sight of a host.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Personality: VX-101, while mostly not being able to express his emotions in his viral state, is known to be an extremely manipulative threat, while also being a quick, resourcefu learner. When in control of a host, VX-101 is known to bring out the worst in people, to the point where the individual seems like an almost completely different person entirely. His overwhelming ego and general disregard for the host's health whatsoever often causes the virus to make dangerous choices, both for the host and its controller.
Occupation: Varies, depending on host.

Background: A year prior to the events of this RP, an anonymous scientist synthesized a vaccine to be used for the worst of diseases in the world, namely cancer of all things. Although for the most part underfunded, the scientist used his intensive knowledge in the field, combined with a small team of loyal researchers and his impressive intelligence, to produce VX-101, meant to be a universal cure to the worst diseases that humans face, such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and more. While this seemed plausible at first, VX-101 did not sell at all commercially since the thought of a potentially dangerous, genetically engineered virus being sold to pharmacies, didn't really ring well with most people. Without any hope of resuming the program in the future, most, if not all, of the scientist's researchers left, save for a select few still determined to finish VX-101. Determined to produce some results, the scientist inserted his own genes to the pathogen, desperate to produce some form of results before he would completely abandon the project.

To the surprise of the scientist, the virus mutated as it bonded with scientist's, as of now, untapped mutant genes, which would soon allow the virus to grow into the aggressive mutated VX-101 agent we know now. A few wrong choices in the lab led to the accidental breach of the virus, which in turn killed off the scientist's fellow researchers one by one but, strangely, left the scientist himself live for reasons that he would find out later. After gaining enough intelligence to surpass even his conscious state, the virus took up the pseudonym of "Pararsite", and would embark on his campaign to feed and spread himself throughout the largest population of people to nourish himself.

A year following that, VX-101 would find itself infected inside of an unlucky and sick host onboard a plane to LA, unaware of the Trojan horse that he had become..

Theme song: I'll look for this later.

RP experience: I know for sure I've been in some RPs with the OP before in the past, but here's just a notable one from recently: Infinite Justice

Only if she could react fast enough, though. She might not even notice whats happening until its already mid-progress, whatever it is that's supposed to happen.

I believe that madness can find more madness, and that every ounce of madness has a spark of truth. And truth, as you know, has a way of depressing people who don't want to find it.

No one is 100% honest... We all keep 20% of the truth from the world, to protect ourselves & sometimes others.

Tagging, also posting a WIP of a character app

Super Identity: N/A(For now)
Real Identity: Henry Preston
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Nationality: American
Appearance: he
re

Costume Appearance: The prototype 913 power armor
Height: 1.85cm
Weight: 70kg
Powers: Mechanical intuition: Harry has perfect understanding of every kind of machine he touches, including their flaws, how they were built, how they are used and how to improve them. Over time he has learned to use his ability to create more complex and efficient machines machines with lower quality materials.

Equipment:Prototype Belt and phone: Using his talent at creating technology Harry tried his at making a personal power suit for himself and after 912 failed prototypes Harry managed to create a stable and functional prototype. The prototype 913 is a belt and a flip phone respectively, the flip phone serves as the main battery for the belt, inserting the phone into the slot on the belt and pressing the code in the phone (913) releases small nano machines stored in the belt that make the armor appear. The armor gives Harry a peak condition making him be able to give Olympic athletes a run for their money. Another feature of the armor is the ability to redirect the energy of the battery to an specific part of the body, redirecting it to the legs allows him to run twice as fast as his normal mode and on only one leg or arm would make him be able to break concrete with his punches/kicks.

Weaknesses: Even if the prototype 913 is the first usable and stable armor doesn't mean it doesn't have its own share of problems, firstly its main weakness it's that once the battery is removed either intentionally, by accident or the battery gets severely damaged the armor dissapears and renders Harry defenseless. The second weaknesses is also related to the battery itself: The battery has a can run out of power with continued use, currently lasting 45 minutes before the battery needs to be recharged.

On Harry's weaknesses there is the fact that he underestimates his own enemies and overestimates his intellect believing that he holds the upper hand most of the time. Secondly the word collateral damage doesn't exist in Harry's vocabulary, he is willing to destroy everything in front of him for the opportunity to attack his enemy. Lastly he has little to none real fighting experience which can put him at disadvantage against more experienced fighters.

Alignment: Chaotic Good
Personality: Once Harry sets his mind if something it's very difficult to change his mind, going to great lengths to attain what he wants, making it very difficult for him to admit that he is wrong. He has quite a big ego and always wants to be the best at what he does, strangely enough he doesn't have a problem working in teams of multiple people as long as he gets his share of the credit. On a more positive note Harry is a very polite and quiet man, keeping most of his thoughts on people to himself, preferring to back out from an altercation unless the situation calls for it.
Occupation: Researcher for the Weapons R&D department of Metahuman Inc.
Background:

Harry was born to a normal middle house family in LA. His ability with machines was something his parents noticed early on his childhood as he dissembled and reassembled his toys, making some do different sounds of what they were programed to do or making his RC cars go faster. This made his parents curious about how could he do it, but Henry only said he just knew, not really seeing what he did as a bad thing his parents just shrugged it off.

His understanding of his powers would come in his teens where his discovery of having something that made him “special” from normal people inflated his ego. His teens where also the time where he started his power armor project in an attempt to become the first superhero as the ones he read in comics when he was a kid. It was on the first steps of his plan that Harry realised that just by knowing how toys and common house gadgets worked he would be able to accomplish his idea, he would have to be in contact with the most advanced technology in the country if he wanted to have a chance at it.

Harry then started to study like his life depended on it to get on a good college. Eventually managed to enter one of the best universities in California where his talent with machinery gained him admiration and hate from his peers which he really didn't care about as he was concentrated on his Magnum opus: his power armor project which he developed secretly on his free time creating new prototype after prototype, each one solving a previous problem but bringing new problems to work on. In the Harry couldn't manage to finish his personal project before he got out of college. Not much long had passed when he was offered a position in the R&D department of Metahuman Inc, where he has been working until now, using the knowledge gained from the experimental technology to further develop his armor, eventually managing to create a stable prototype after 913 fails, on the eve of Christmas.

On second thought, I don't think Shauna would be able to help prevent the catalyst NPC guy from exploding. I thought at first it was going to be happening out of an emotional reaction, but now I'm pretty sure that his power is acting up on its own.

I'll still try to post though, later today...

Been pondering if I should have my character go to LAX, I might just have him see it on TV and then go to investigate what really happened while non-mutant news will probably at start say it was a terrorist attack

So, where is Altito's character relative to Tarmo? I'm just going to assume close-by for my next post.
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

That's what I sorta assumed in my post. Same area though I think. Though I haven't been to LAX in ages, so the layout of it I'm not entirely sure of.

Yeah, I'm taking a look at the LAX Tom Bradley terminal map right now. Dang. 5 stories, 150 restaurants, voted "most technologically advanced terminal", and construction going on until 2018.

Problem is, I was planning on having my character Shauna try to talk to her customer who was going to be in security, and I wasn't planning on having her going through screening. But the food court is on the 3rd floor...

Hmm... Maybe I can have her talk her way through and try to find her customer who's buying the house she's brokering... who just happens to be on the 3rd level... near the food court...

Wow... yeah didn't really realize it was that big.

Security might let her though with proper ID, if she can confirm her story.
