Fears: He has a great fear of falling, and a fear of painless death
Likes and Dislikes: Likes: Learning new spells, combining wizard magic with muggle technology/tactics when possible, , watching Quidditch. Dislikes: Inherent rudeness, stuck up people, playing Quidditch (though he can be very good if he gets over his fear; he’ll do anything to win)
Personality: Alteran (just ‘Teran’ to friends) is a very loyal person. If you do right by him, he’ll do right by you, always. He’s outwardly kind to most people, though he finds people who talk a lot about nothing very annoying. Inwardly, however, Alteran is rather untrusting of people, and a little sadistic, especially concerning those who have wronged him or his family/friends. He understands that, just because he’s kind, doesn’t mean others will be as well; he simply likes being polite at first. He holds no remorse for those who call themselves his enemies. He gives off an optimistic air, but a few minutes conversation with him would paint him as a cynic. He’s extremely competitive. It should be noted that he enjoys the notion of “going out with a bang” and absolutely hates the idea of a quiet, painless death.
Brief Backstory: Alteran was born to an English wizard and an American muggle, in Charleston, South Carolina. The two had only one other child, one year after Alteran. Alteran spent most of his childhood there, learning spells from his father, and learning how to use muggle technology from his mother. He often combined these two things to create interesting devices, and he taught his younger sister every night what his parents taught him earlier that day. He ended up learning how to play the guitar from his mother. The area they lived in was mostly filled with muggles who had given birth to wizard children. As a child, Alteran quickly made friends with just about everyone, even the bullies. He was often the middleman when two children were having an argument, generally keeping both sides from decking the other. His parents sent him to muggle school, but his father taught him about magic every evening. Alteran quickly came to love learning new spells, and even tried coming up with a few of his own, to no avail. Even so, he stole his father’s wand some nights and practiced spells in their backyard.
Around the age of 9, Alteran and his family moved to London, his father finding the American school of magic to be unsatisfactory and wishing his children to go to Hogwarts. His father took him down Diagon Alley and bought him a wand of his own and an owl, and Alteran set to getting used to having both around. He practiced magic as much as he could around his studies in muggle school. When the time came to go to Hogwarts, Alteran boarded the train proudly, with no regrets. He’d make his family proud. He was certain of it.
He subsequently spent the next two years under the radar.

Marcus cracked an eye open, staring at the ceiling above his bed for a moment. He opened the other eye and took a peek at the clock on his omni-tool. Still five minutes before the wake-up call, huh? Better get ready. Marcus slid out of bed and into his uniform, listening keenly for the Sergeant. He decided to ghost over to Siros’ bed and attempted to rouse his roommate early, lest he be disgruntled from whatever plan the salarian had concocted to get them all awake that morning. As the clock struck 6:00, Kaynar broke into song… again. Marcus shook his head and listened from behind the door, not wanting to immediately interact with the Sergeant. Luckily, he didn’t have to: He had an hour of free time to eat and/or exercise before training began, sweet! Marcus gleefully walked out into the rec room, and made his way to the mess hall, where he had a quick breakfast. Afterwards, he ambled over to the biodome for today’s training session…
0700
As he entered, Marcus noted the four Avengers on the table, and smirked. Combat training, eh? This’ll be fun! Marcus listened to Kaynar lay out the rules, not even bothering to hide his excitement. When Nialla chose Siros to be on her team, Marcus shrugged, Hey, I hardly know either of em. Miss Perfect is a military girl, for sure, but Stomach over here is a Turian. Turians are a hardy bunch, regardless of upbringing or career. Besides, she wouldn’t be here if she couldn’t shoot straight, now would she?
Marcus had no doubt of his own combat abilities, and he was quite certain that between the two of them, he and Vandra would be a formidable team. He knew enough of the others to discern that Siros was a techy and Nialla was a soldier with biotics, and he was aware that techies, while incredibly smart and technically knowledgeable, were oftentimes less suited to combat than soldiers. That being said, Marcus underestimated neither of them. With an absolutely even number of people, it would come down to sheer skill to decide who would be victorious, and no one would be here if they weren’t skillful.
Marcus eagerly swept up the white Avenger into his hands, carefully noting that, as Kaynar had said, it had an effective range of twenty-five meters. He gave the others a wave as they headed down the black tunnel and joined Vandra in walking down the white one. As the came out into the open, Marcus breathed in deeply and exhaled slowly. “Ah, I love the smell of a battlefield. I’ll be getting to put my mercenary skills to use...Today will be a good day, win or lose!”
