I still don't think, ANYONE, could conquer Japan, at this point. Japan is know, for putting aside their differences, and joining together to defeat a common foe.

We aren't talking about differing groups of Arabs, attempting to unite under a new religion, all of whom hated each other to begin with. Japan is one people, one language, one religion, one creed. Whenever they are invaded, they band together, fight the invaders, then return to fighting each other.

Whenever they are invaded, they band together, fight the invaders, then return to fighting each other.

We'll either way, they're divided among Islands. By the time the news reaches the next island, they may try to organize over hatred they developed, but a new Invasion force would be landing on the Islands. Either way, I kinda want to fight a Shogun. A nice beheading by a Native American Marine wouldn't hurt.
