Medieval cannon was cumbersome, heavy, and had issues being navally mounted. Medieval vessels would be armed more with bow & arrow, historically, though some would be armed with light cannon later on, during the Edwardian period (I think).
Any cannon you have would be categorized as "Bombards", or howitzers, and would be very, very cumbersome in their deployment.
Cannons also defined the more reliable type of cannons during Enlightenment age, 17th - 18th century -19th.
