I'd love to have rolling-block, but the verdict was to have the early crappy muskets, which I already planned on using. We're it up to me, I'd have better muskets, but I'll have to make them through progress.

Cannons is medieval age, yes. Well, technically Late Middle Ages. And even then, cannons were heavy and slow and hard to aim.

Medieval cannon was cumbersome, heavy, and had issues being navally mounted. Medieval vessels would be armed more with bow & arrow, historically, though some would be armed with light cannon later on, during the Edwardian period (I think).

Any cannon you have would be categorized as "Bombards", or howitzers, and would be very, very cumbersome in their deployment.
