To add onto this, gasoline expires after 2-3 years and diesel and jet fuel around the same amount of time, so the only way you could fix up a car and run it is by producing actual gasoline.

Actually, you could totally use hot air balloons to just go over bandit territory. They're damned near impossible to efficiently militarize, and it'd be a great way to make maps to sell to the surrounding tribes.

I think the biggest thing with that would be finding enough proper gases to actually fill the thing up without making a bunch of Hindenbergs.

Hell, that said, Zeppelins could be the glass cannons of a military. Good for recon and transport, but if someone sneezes in the wrong direction, everyone dies in a fire.

It's our history! We've always been focused on ship building, and said we're using ports to build a Navy. Do we currently own one? No. But it's in production. First ships will come out 8 moths to a year after IC.
