Name: Sana Loren
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

Class: Storm Sorcerer
Skills: [Sailing | Acrobatics and general athletics | Magic | Bladed melee weapons | Sociability]
A child of the wind and sea, ships are a second nature to Sana, and prancing about them with glee during her formative years has benefited her ability to tackle tasks of agility. Her innate magical abilities, already well suited to the purpose of self-preservation, are also quite powerful and difficult to counter. Still, recognizing the more martial aspects of combat and the limitations of her natural abilities, she has taken steps to train herself in the use of all sorts of more traditional means of self-defence; with spear and dagger, there are few who can match her. Above all else is her bewildering and unaccountable ability to charm just about anyone she comes across, be they young or old, man or woman, peasant or noble.
Spells:
  • Shocking Grasp - lightning springs from the caster's hand to deliver a short-range, powerful bolt of electricity, causing loss of muscle control at a minimum, potentially rendering the individual unconscious or inducing a cardiac episode. Metal armour amplifies the effects.
  • Tempestuous Magic - strongly attuned to the elements, Sana is able to influence the wind and water around her, up to one-hundred feet away. At that maximum distance: she is able to control the direction at which the wind blows; if there is rain or sea spray within fifty feet of her she is able to direct it away; elemental gusts of air, strong enough to bodily toss individuals up to fifteen feet, can be summoned within twenty-five feet; and, small bodies of water immediately adjacent to her can be fully manipulated
Weapons: Spear and dagger

Personality: Sana is brash, bold, loud, and a delight to be around; the very definition of a "wild child". Valuing her freedom above all else, Sana is inclined to do things simply because she can, or to prove as much to a skeptical compatriot; this occasionally backfires, when she finds that her reach has exceeded her grasp. Her proclivity for getting herself into and out of trouble is practically legend, and only slightly exaggerated. Honeyed words can work wonders, however, and Sana can weave a tapestry of fanciful tales and outlandish claims that fall off of her tongue with such natural candour that few people have the presence of mind to challenge her.
Theme Song: Too Bad, So Sad - Metric
Voice Actress: Georgina Reilly

Short Biography: Sana was born a bastard from the union of a pirate and the besmitten daughter of a humble fisherman, during the most horrific storm of a generation; it was nothing short of a miracle that Sana survived at all. Due to her grandparents being so ashamed of her origins, and wishing nothing more than to pretend as though she did not exist, Sana was destined to be fostered by someone else. She came to be raised by a wandering priest of Aker; a simple soul by the name of Edwin who eschewed the salt-of-the-earth profession of his family in favour of his humble and pious life. Sana's first memories are of walking barefoot down dirt roads, rough burlap scratching against her skin, fearful of the monsters and raiders that seemed to be forever on the cusp of pouncing.

Sana's magical abilities manifested at the tender age of six, when she and Edwin were accosted by a small group of bandits on the road outside of Memnon. The bandits, unsatisfied with Edwin's assurances that they had nothing of worth and that he was a pacifist, murdered the old man. Mere seconds away from turning their blades on Sana, the frightened girl instinctually let loose a thunderous explosion of magical energy, tossing the men about like rag dolls and killing them to a man. Grieving the loss of her only family, and terrified of this unknown power she suddenly felt churning inside of her, Sana fled to the streets of Memnon and disappeared among the urchins there.

One of many street urchins that populated the bustling city, Sana blended into the crowd and did whatever she had to in order to survive; eating garbage, stealing from trade stalls, picking pockets, mugging weaker children. Her magical abilities slowly grew, occasionally erupting uncontrollably as they had outside of Memnon, but never quite so violently. She eventually learned how to channel this power in a constructive manner, finding that the more often she used her magic the less often she lost control of it.

These activities eventually earned her the unwanted attention of an enterprising slaver. At age ten, she found herself snatched off of the streets and chained up, packed like a sardine in the stinking bilge of a decrepit slaving vessel. Luckily for her, the manacles they had used on her were rusted, and weak. With the assistance of another victim, Sana was able to break out of the manacles after a few days of travel and quickly set about unchaining everyone else. The slaves led a mutiny against the crew, which was brutally put down, though not before Sana was able to drop a longboat and spirit herself to freedom. The slaving vessel, heavy with cargo, was unable to match her magically assisted speed.

Sana's escape did not go perfectly, of course. In her haste to flee she had not made sure of where the coast was, and ended up going even further out to see. She spent months on the water, surviving on what few fish approached closely enough for her to shock dead with a blast of lightning from her palm, until she was rescued by a passing pirate vessel, the N.N. Cassandra. The Cassandra had ventured far south, to raid some merchant vessels along the Broken Coast and only blind, dumb luck would have it that Sana crossed their path.

Not exactly eager to take on another mouth to feed, and one so young no less, Sana demonstrated her influence over the wind and seas to Captain Vario Piscar and earned herself a place on the Cassandra. She was tasked with speeding the ship along when she had the energy, and was taught the skills needed to managed a ship on the high seas when she grew fatigued. Though difficult work, living aboard the Cassandra toughened Sana up considerably. She took to learning how to fight with blades, staffs, and polearms, continued to develop her magical abilities, and distinguished herself as an invaluable member of the crew in all aspects.

One fateful night, a fearsome hurricane struck the Cassandra. Despite Sana's best efforts the ship sustained heavy damage; she, herself, was thrown overboard, and presumed dead by the rest of the crew. Her first clear memory since the storm is of washing up on the shore of Penna, the memories of the time she spent clinging to flotsam on the waves are understandably hazy. When she asked residents of the Queendom if they knew of Memnon or the Broken Coast their answers were all the same: 'no idea'. So, with no idea of how to return home, Sana decided to stay in Penna and wander about the countryside, much as she had the coastline aboard the Cassandra.

Knowing that she wouldn't be able to survive as a bandit or highwayman without a crew behind her, Sana entered a slightly more legal - and decidedly more nebulous - profession: that of 'adventurer'. Taking employment wherever she could find it from wealthy employers who required the expertise of morally flexible and martially and magically skilled individuals, and occasionally chasing down rumours of hidden treasures or enchanted artifacts. Most recently, while drinking heavily in the town of Valos, Sana accepted a challenge from some of the more inebriated patrons that she wasn't capable of tracking down the criminals who murdered Michael Nael and kidnapped his children. Always one to keep her word, whether she was drunk at the time or not, Sana set out the morning after she sobered up.

Yes. Characters will find spellbooks in dungeons and shops, and sometimes you may find a trainer which can teach you any spell you can think of.
Within reason, of course.

Depends on the spell and character, but they're usually casted by hands.

Name: “My name is Adelle Dolores.”

Age: “I am around twenty-two years old.”

Sex: “And I am very female.”

Sexual Orientation: “I prefer to stray away from the complications of romance, but I do believe that I am heterosexual.”

Class: “A sorceress and bounty hunter, I always keep my spells and potions on deck.”

Skills: “I like to believe that I’m a rather talented person. I can create potions that make people cheerful, and if presented with the right ingredients, I can enchant a cloak into making people invisible. However, for the latter, I would have to obtain an ingredient that isn’t native to this town.”

Spells: “Due to being rather sensitive to magic, I am limited to two spells. One of them allows me to turn into fire, which by extension, I can control. I can only activate that spell when I feel particularly passionate or angry, which is not that uncommon, to be honest. My other spell allows me to cast an illusion on myself so that I can see whatever my mind wishes me to see, which usually isn’t real. I don’t normally use this, due to the unfortunate implications.”

Side Weapons: “These are actually my main weapons, not my side weapons. I need to conserve energy for spell use, unlike you folks, who tend to gratuitously throw them around. I fight with twin celurits, although if needed, I may throw my sleeping or paralysis potions on others. I only carry around three potions with me at a time, so I tend not to use them all at once.”

Personality: “I suppose that I am a hardworking person who is passionate about her interests, such as politics or relationships. I work my hardest to be seen as a sincere and polite person, but also as someone strong and independent. Usually, though, I just seem mysterious, emotional, compulsive, determined, and imaginative. I can be a bit of a sadist at times, but I apologize for any rude behavior that I have committed in such a state. Anyways, and by the gods, do I love rewards and money. My motto is the golden rule. Additionally, I tend to laugh when I’m hurt, which is just a quirk of mine.”

Theme Song: A New Day Has Come – Celine Dion

What's the duck?: The duck is alive.

Short Biography: “I was born on a chilly morning in November 12th, and for most of my life, had lived in the less savory parts of town. I usually stayed inside my home, where I lived with my aunt and uncle. I was homeschooled, you see. They were salesmen, and had taught me a few tips and tricks about looking more presentable to others. Seeing how they seemed to be so successful and suaved, I idolized them. I wanted to be like them.”

“It turned out they were skilled conmen.”

“Nonetheless, I still wanted to be like them.”

“I was rather amicable with my cousin, Valerie. She liked to talk with others, acting very kind, even though everyone else didn’t care or was very mean. I thought that she was strange, but for the sake of family, I accepted that.”

“One night, when I was the mere age of twenty, a pair of criminals had broken into the room that belonged to me and my cousin. Even though I tried to fight them off with a knife—I left my weapons in another room—they still escaped. They had kidnapped her. For many weeks, I felt extremely distressed. Constantly turn around. Always lock the door. Check the windows. That sort of thing. I took note of the criminals’ appearances and reported them to the law. They did jack shit.”

“At one point, I decided that I needed to become independent. I needed a job and a life, like my other peers. So after a series of discussions with my remaining family, I had received the funds to go out into the world. I stayed in many inns, and took many jobs. I even had an entry level marketing job at one point, but usually, I’m just a simple salesman or at rare cases, a showman. I decided that was unfufilling.”

“While I was walking to work, I saw a bounty poster, with an image of two men on it. They looked similar to the kidnappers of my cousin. And thus, over a tedious process, I became a bounty hunter. It was to suppliment my savings AND get vengeance at the same time. Neat, right?”

“Welcome to the life of Adelle Dolores.”

And by the gods, do I love rewards and money.

Heheh, what kind of character are you going to make? I'd also like to say that this isn't the kind of RP where the quality and grammar has to be top-notched.

Name: Engelise
Age: 27
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Asexual

Class: Dark Mage
Skills: Studious, can remember details of things that interest her.
Spells:
Balefire (Creates a Spear of fire that sets fire to its target)
Claw of the Phantom: A spell that creates a razor sharp blade of shadow magic. usually used to wipe out enemies in a visceral fashion.
Side Weapons: DarkStaff, A staff that had a concealed sword laced with dark magic hidden within.

Personality: Most of the time, she's rather polite. She just finds killing people to be entertaining. This kinda creeps out a good few people, so she usually keeps her bloodlust down while people are around. She likes company, after all. She's always ready to chat about various topics, and is rather friendly for a homicidal Dark Mage.
Theme Song: None
Voice Actor/Actress: None
What's the duck?:

Short Biography: Engelise was born to a family of Mages in the north of Penna. As a child, she was said to have been a lover of Justice, a girl who would ball up her fists and beat down the bullies who exploited her friends. The small community of mages she belonged to were known for the pacifism, which unfortunately made them easy targets for a band of slavers from a foreign country. One Summer day, the Slavers rode in and killed all the adults in a rather gory manner, taking the children and teenagers into captivity, to be sold as slaves to nobles or soldiers to foreign Armies. Engelise proved to be troublesome as a captive, and soon into the journey from the burning village, she was beaten to within an inch of her life by a frustrated slaver and thrown from the carriage to fend for herself.

A passing stranger noticed her bloodied and barely breathing body and rescued her. He was merely a passing civilian who couldn't keep her for long, so Engelise found herself in an Orphanage in a northern city at the age of 12. At 14, She was adopted by a Noble family who pitied her circumstances. She was still the Protector of Justice that she was as a child, which impressed them.

As a teenager, Engelise proved to be studious, liking to practice swordfighting with the team of Mercenaries that guarded the Estate. Her Adoptive family weren't happy with this at first, but when she disarmed the Mercenary captain in a match that lasted 5 seconds, they accepted that their adopted daughter had a talent for combat. One day at the age of 18, she received a letter that invited her to the Penna Royal Guard. This she happily accepted.
Life at the Capital was a pretty unique experience for Engelise. The Royal Guard Initiation Course proved to be fun and challenging for her, but soon she wore their uniform, guarding the Royal Family and dispensing Justice on those who wished harm on the Kingdom. Then one day, 5 years ago, something happened.

It was a rather unique assignment. A Dark Wizard had caused havoc in the East, and several members of the Royal Guard had teamed up with local Militia to hunt them down. Engelise was one of them. The charged the Wizard's Fortress, and were wiped out to a man. Only Engelise was the survivor, due to her dormant mage powers nullifying the Wizard's magical traps. In hindsight, she might have been better off dead. The wizard captured her and tortured her, broke her spirit and her will, and remade her as a Dark Mage, one who was quite capable of malicious, evil acts. In hindsight, he should have expected her to backstab him the first chance she got. After betraying and disposing of the dark Wizard, Engelise took over his tower and continued his experiments, though she had little success. Eventually giving up on continuing his schemes, she went out and decided to amuse herself by killing a band of brigands who encroached on her territory. She also decided that killing evil people and monsters would be a rather entertaining way to pass the time and became a bounty Hunter. Her first assignment would be a kidnapping case.

OOC: It'd probably be appreciated if someone can snap Engelise out of Evil-mode.

Haha, beat me to the punch. Also, there's nothing under appearance (in case you forgot).

Also, it will be really interesting to see our characters interact.

Snap her out of evil-mode? But that'd be boring. :p
Formerly Videssos. Just a femboy-obsessed degenerate. Also interested in history, mythology, fantasy, science fiction, metal and some other stuff.
A little bird told me, "Go, Go! Socialise! Talk to those fine people! And then, KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! Plunge your knife into their throats when they ain't lookin', and then burn 'em to the ground!"
Well that's silly, isn't it?
