Operation: Brass Eye (WWII|Occult/Supernatural|Closed|OOC)

Postby Anowa » Sun Jan 08, 2017 8:21 pm

April, 1946. The Second World War is long over. The Nuremburg trials are well under way. Despite her defection with several documents and POWs over the English Channel, Sturmbannführer Elsa Konig is put on trial for aiding in crimes against humanity. Her case is no where near as straight forward as expected, quickly becoming a classified case. Sturmbannführer Konig reveals several notable facts revolving around her previous posting within the Schutzstaffel: As head of the SS' occult and supernatural research. It is revealed that the last and now largest facility of the SS research branch is located overseas in Argentina, constructed in secret from the Argentinian government.

Both the Commonwealth MI6, American CIG, and Soviet MGB concur that letting the fanatics of a now dead Nazi Germany get their hands on supernatural artifacts and functions cannot be allowed. A strike team is put together of allied soldiers and spies, with Sturmbannführer Konig acting as a guide to the hidden facility. Their goals are to retrieve as much data from the facility as possible for allied research, and to destroy the facility itself with extreme prejudice. It is assumed that the facility is no larger than a standard research lab. Intelligence is wrong. Nearly six years of expansion and excavating have lead to a veritable village located underground. And a collection of supernaturally powered soldiers, scientists, and creatures.

As a member of Strike Team Noire, you will be participating in Operation: Brass Eye. Your actions will reflect what result will stem from this operation's end, for better or worse, the fate of future generations hinges on you.

  • 1. No Godmodding/Meta-Gaming: This can be defined as playing your character without limitations or having your character know things they couldn't possibly know.
  • 2. Don't be a dick in the OOC: You can have your character be an aggressive and smarter version of a certain political candidate in the IC. But the moment you act like a dick in the OOC thread you'll get a warning.
  • 3. No One Liners: Three full lines of text per each IC post, anything less is frowned upon and is generally laziness and will not be accepted. Anything greater is acceptable and is smiled upon.
  • 4. No 'Dick measuring' contests: The moment two of you start arguing over which character is better, and it doesn't contribute to goings on in the IC. You'll both get a warning.
  • 5. For the love of god keep it PG-13: This is a general site rule, and while PG-13 is a blurred line nowadays, the rules of thumb are: nothing sexually explicit, and nothing overly violent. This is a place to role play as a black ops soldier, not write out deviant fantasies.
  • 6. No multicolor or odd dialogue: No colored text, and no italicized/bolded/underlines paragraphs. Reserve them for actual use instead of using them for everything.
  • 7. If you have a problem with a player, take it to TG. If that does not work, bring it to the OP or a CoOP's attention. Do not turn the OOC thread into chaos.
  • 8. You have a 72 hour grace period to post if you're holding someone back, after that your character will be forced to move on by the OP or Co-Op. Failure to return will result in character death.
  • 9. Don't just write for yourself, other want to get involved as well. I realize it's human nature, but try to involve other people's ideas, themes, and characters. A major part in RPing is having other people, don't turn them away or cast a blind eye.
  • 10. As expected the RP is based in mid 1946, that means that any tech created past mid 1946 will not be allowed.
  • 11. Have fun!

You mean every nation that wanted to surrender by 1944?

Is this a Seal team six style set in WW2 era, or Inglorious Bastards II?

Also here if you need a COOP.

Name: Ezno Scolettie, 2nd Lieutenant
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Nationality: American-Itallian
Branch/Agency of Service: United States Army, 82nd Airborn, 505th PIR
Appearance: Image
"WTF am I doing here" Face and all.
Height: 5'9 - 174 CM
Weight: 148 lbs - 67.13 kilograms
Equipment:
Primary: M1928A1 submachine gun - 4x 30 round mags- 120 rounds
Secondary: Itcha Model 37 shotgun* -10x 12 gauge slug- 10x 12 gauge buckshot shells
Side Arm: M1911A1 3x 7 round magizine- 21 rounds
Melee: US Army K-bar
Thrown: 2x M2 Frag Grenades 1x Smoke grenade, white.
Biography:
Born July 18th, 1918 to an Italian mother and a Cuban-American Father, in a small two story apartment in the Bronx he shared with 3 older sisters. He was a shy boy at fist, rarely talking out of turn and really only speaking when spoken too, his parents first thought something was wrong until they had a talk with his teachers who said that while he was quiet, he did exceptional in school. The Depression would hit the family hard, with his mother loosing his job and his father, while still keeping his, would suffer a large pay cut. Up until that point in 1929, he had been working as a bust boy for a speakeasy in Jersey to help the family, but even the underground bar that he busted at had to lay him off and he fall on in to petty crimes, usually small time theft of food stuffs from local stores. He would soon fall in to one of the Crime families of New York and was on the fast track to becoming a made man, until an attempted armed robbery in 1931 went wrong and he was left holding the bag while his crew bolted.

being sentence to spend the rest of the decade in jail, he took the time to self teach him self through the rest of his high-school years while in jail, even earning a day pass to take the final exams at this local high-school and earn a diploma. Even with a full education under his belt, he was slated to be released in mid 1945 and spent the first year of the war eagerly watching the news reels in the Prison cafeteria. Due to his multilingual nature (speaking fluent Spanish and Italian as well as English) he was given an a choice: Volunteer for the Army and serve his full term and he would have his prison sentence slashed. With the prospect of getting out of jail and earning a paycheck for his family, he agreed and was sent off to Fort Brag for infantry training with the original intent of joining the Rangers, when the call for volunteers for the Paratrooper divisions was put out. While he wish o be a ranger, the idea of dropping out of the sky to rain hell on the Jerry was a bit more appealing and so he signed up.

Paratrooper training went as it normally did, he passed his three jumps and was slated to jump in to Sicily during Operation Husky with the rest of the 505th. Having already been made a Sargent and a squad leader, he was able to prove him self worthy of a promotion to 1st lieutenant. Leaving for OTS for some 6 months and being one of the few men there with both a combat badge and a set of jump wings, he returned to his unit on the eave of Operation Overlord (changed to Neptune at the last second) and was dropped in to Normandy. He would land of course and end up spending most of the first battle attached to a unit of the 101st until he linked up with his unit.

Being dropped in to the Netherlands during Market Garden, he would again be given a promotion to 2nd Lieutenant during the clusterfuck that was the jump and fallowing operation. He would retreat out of the Netherlands with the rest of the unit and grew to have a noted disliking of the British Army. He would earn his final commendations, a pair of purple hearts, for it actions during the German counter attack in France were his unit, elements of the 101st, 1st ID, and 1st armored were stuck in the Bulge. Being sent to England for treatment for his second wound, a Fragment of a German sniper round stuck in his side, he would spend the rest of the war out of action.

Now its 1946, and he is still in England working a desk job for the army until his service period ends when he is given a new set of strange orders.

Through and through, with the fall of Germany and subsequent conquest by Soviet, he briefly stayed as cursed soldiers before OSS saw his skills and recruited him for their efforts. He was then tasked to accompanied a group of soldiers, intelligence agents, and captured Nazi agents to Argentina for a black ops operation.

Biography:

Li Chun-hung was born in Guangzhou in the year 1917, the youngest child after his two older sisters. His family were longtime revolutionaries who were among those who had supported Sun Yat-Sen from the onset. His childhood was defined primarily by the absence of his father, who quickly became an officer in the newly established National Revolutionary Army, the military branch of the Kuomintang. Life in those chaotic times were not easy, but being a member of the new political elite helped quite a bit. For the majority of his childhood, Li was educated in an elite international boarding school in Hong Kong, while his father traveled around the country fighting the warlords and Communists who still fought for control of China. In school he would take every possible moment to brag about his father's accomplishments and trumpet the cause of Chinese nationalism. His big mouth got him into quite a few fights, but to him, it was all worth earning the respect and admiration of a father who he never really knew.

During his teenage years, Li shifted his focus to academics, and for a time it seemed that the next generation of the Li family would be statesmen, not soldiers. Li Chun-hung threw himself vigorously into speech and debate, all the while meticulously following the increasingly worrying Asian geopolitical situation in the 1930s. He would later admit that in those days he was an insufferable prick who would always be the loudest to bang the drums of Chinese nationalism in his encounters with European students, not to mention any Japanese students.

Everything changed in 1937, when the Imperial Japanese Army commenced its full scale invasion on China proper. In those first few frantic weeks, Li Chun-hung's father was killed in the defense of Shanghai and calls echoed throughout all of China urging young men to join in the defense of their country, and thus Li Chun-hung abandoned his dormitory at the University of Hong Kong, buried away his public policy textbooks, and jumped onto the first train back to Mainland China. As one of the few university educated men, he was right away enrolled into the Central Military Academy, which had relocated to Chengdu during the war.

Those were lean days, and any idealistic dreams he had about war were soon beaten away. Classes on military tactics were held at night, while the days were spent hiding away in caves as Japanese bombers roared overhead. Still, the time he spent in Chengdu were the happiest two years of his life, in no small part thanks to his romantic engagement with Fu Yihan, the daughter of a local merchant who did business with the national army. By the time he received his commission, he knew what he was fighting for.

The years 1939-1945 were, by any measure, hell for China. Millions of servicemen died fighting the better trained and equipped Imperial Japanese army, and great sacrifices had to be made to stop the Japanese advance. Li Chun-hung spent the majority of his service during the war in the central China front, successfully surviving the multiple battles of Changsha. In 1943, Li Chun-hung was transferred to the Burmese front, where Allied forces successfully reopened the Ledo road from India after fighting for months in a grueling jungle campaign against Japanese troops.

By 1945, it was clear that the war was going to end with an Allied victory. The focus instead, then, was to ensure that the Communists could be defeated and that the KMT would be able to leverage its position as one of the major victorious allies in order to become a major world power. To begin such a campaign required men of a certain talent and skill. More than just soldiers, China needed specialists who could take part in covert and sensitive operations. In March of 1945, Li Chun-hung was transferred to the KMT's Investigation and Statistics Bureau.

Despite the Bureau's innocuous name, the Investigation and Statistics Bureau under the command of Lieutenant General Dai Li was commonly known as "Chiang Kai-shek's Gestapo" and served as China's own secret police. The Bureau was often tasked with everything from spying to assassination. Among Captain Li Chun-hung's first missions were to raid the known bases of the Japanese Kempeitai and to recover any potential military research which could later be used by the KMT.

In 1946, China is enjoying a brief period of peace for the first time years. Yet the civil war against the communists will soon restart. When news leaks of the secret Nazi base in South America, the Investigation and Statistics Bureau moves to quickly place its own representative on the mission. After only a month of enjoying peacetime married life with his new wife, he receives his new mission orders. A lifetime of service to the state has only finally started to give way to a newfound appreciation for the joys of private life. For Li Chun-hung, the path is simple, finish the mission and come home to save his family from the impending civil war.

Name: Basil ‘Basileus’ Cameron
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Nationality: British
Branch/Agency of Service: 2nd Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, Chindits, Force 136
Appearance:
Image
Height: 1,78 m
Weight: 80 kg
Equipment:
.303 Short magazine Lee-Enfield rifle
10 round detachable box magazine, x6
Long sword bayonet
Webley revolver
Bandolier with additional 36 rounds
Burmese ‘dah’ Machete
Army ‘housewife’ (Needle, thread, repair kit, etc)
Chlorine purifying tablets
Malaria-combating drugs
Army-issue latex bags
Standard-issue compass
Biography: Basil was born in 1914 in what was then British Burma, to two Scottish locals of the area. The Cameron Family had been living as notables in Rangoon for a few generations, and for Basil this was no different. He was educated by British nationals, and trained to become an administrator for the area. As preparation for his later career, Basil became a local administrator at the age of 22. A few years later, in 1939, at the age of 25, Basil became a member of the Burmese Forestry Service, an arm of the local government responsible for guarding the forests against poachers, arsonists, and Thai spies.

In 1942, Burma was invaded by Japanese forces. In the light of the September 1941 declaration of war on the Japanese empire, the Burmese local authorities had made preparations for the eventuality of a Japanese incursion. Recruiting forestry agents, they had prepared a special force of jungle fighters, also known as the Chindits, to perform jungle operations behind enemy lines. In 1943, operation Longcloth commenced, a retaliatory strike against Japanese forces. Basil was among the men chosen for the mission, as he was most experienced with Burmese jungle terrain. Over the next two years, the Chindits would strike behind enemy lines, disrupting communication and supply, while dealing heavy blows to the Japanese occupation force. These actions put an end to the myth of Japanese invincibility, but at a heavy price. Disease and malnutrition plagued the troops, who could only be supplied via air. Nonetheless, the actions, although high on causalities, were effective overall.

After the recapture of Burma in 1945, Basil spent some time writing textbooks on Burmese forest conditions and jungle warfare, as well as writing his own memoirs. He thought in his life, he had seen the worst. However, that was yet to come. In 1946, the army asked if he wanted to volunteer for a special mission, to rid the world once and for all of the Nazi menace. While Basil wasn’t too keen to go into a disease-ridden jungle again, the thought that all his work had been in vain kept him from putting down the offer. He accepted, being shipped to London from Rangoon in the same year. He became a member of Strike Team Noire, reading for Operation Brass Eye.
