The world of Venmaria, a world, of multiple races, and none the least, Humanity. On the continent of Kolen, in the year 0, the collapse of the greatest Empire to ever bestow the continent, Cronelia, plummeting the continent, and northern Afux into the Dark Ages, causing multiple feudal states, small and large. 670 years after the collapse of the Empire, a evil descended upon all inhabitants of Kolen, be them Human, or not, magical or not, young and old, none were spared in the wake, of the black death. 4 years later, millions lay dead, however, this sparked a revolution across the continent, new thoughts, arts and technologies arose, including weapons using an explosive powder from some land not yet even known to most kings. With these new technologies, the old world soon discovered a new one, across the sea. In 727, Giano Aurini sailed across the Ranun Ocean, and discovered a new land, where already millions of different races lived. But then, came the power hungry Kingdoms and Empires of Kolen. Through blood and steel, the continent became subject to Kolen, making them wealthy, and expanded trade further. Little under 200 years later, the world experiences another Revolution, the Enlightenment, men questions the divine rights of king and clergy, and of Colonial Masters and the old ways of Magic.

Rules:
No Metagaming – If you wish to communicate with a player, do so via telegram, the OOC thread, or ICly. This will prevent the bleeding of OOC into IC that Skype tends to cause. You can talk about the RP on other mediums, of course, just don’t try to work out a trade deal or peace treaty there.

Be Civil – Don’t be a prick to others on the OOC. ICly, be however big of a prick you want to be, go ahead. But keep it IC and if you do so OOC you will receive two warnings before getting removed from the RP entirely.

No Godmodding – Other people have complete control over their countries. Don’t post their casualties, military movements, reactions, or basically anything involving them without their approval.

Have Fun! – As I said, everybody’s enjoyment. If you aren’t having a good time, you’re doing something wrong.

Claims and Territory
Conquering unexplored lands, annexing territory, and settling distant colonies are all part of creating an empire and achieving international prestige and superiority. Trade routes must be secured, rightful lands reclaimed, and colonial possessions settled to acquire the untapped wealth they provide.

Conquering lands under the control of foreign powers requires the application of military force. This can range from gunboat diplomacy and mere displays of force to blockading entire nations and reducing their navies and armies to bloody tatters. Politics, diplomacy, and warfare between major powers is determined by the players themselves, though guidelines on how to build and equip your military are detailed further on and are determined by the Op and Mods.

A maximum of 5 unclaimed and uncharted territories can be claimed, as long as the proper roleplaying going into the process. Unclaimed and uncharted doesn’t mean uninhabited, after all - there will be natives, and they will not always welcome the fruits of your civilization with open arms. Whether planting your flag in a hostile jungle or crushing an opponent of a local ruler with superior technology in exchange for their loyalty, you will be required to provide a detailed account of your military actions and expeditions. Sailing across vast oceans, mapping out an unexplored continent, pacifying newly conquered populations, dealing with local uprising and revolts, settling the frontier, funding and creating infrastructure - all this takes time and effort, and that needs to be roleplayed in the creation of your new colonies.

Roleplaying Diplomacy, Politics, War and your Nation
When launching and waging war, even if the decision is your ruler’s alone to make, theirs is not the only opinion that matters. The factions of your government, varying groups within your populace, and other nations all have their own stake in conflicts.

Keep in mind that a proper Casus Belli, or legitimate reason for going to war, will determine how other nations and your own people view a war. A poor public opinion about an action or conflict will impact on your economy and your effectiveness at fighting, and could even inspire open revolt. Wars that drag on or grow more destructive and draining will degrade your peoples’ and ally’s desire to carry on the fight - soldiers serving as levies need to return home to harvest crops every year, not to mention raise their family, contribute to industry, and get away from the danger and tedium of military life. Fighting a nation or civilization with a similar culture or history of good relations, performing especially brutal and public acts during a campaign, and failing to provide pay and supplies will impact the morale of your troops and citizens just as much as a crushing defeat, if not more.

Another good thing to stay aware of is that mobilizing and moving troops, supplies, ships, and aircraft is not instantaneous and takes time. Troops moving long distances will suffer fatigue, ships may be caught in storms, and everybody needs to be kept stocked up on bullets and food and drink. Supplies not reaching soldiers in the field means morale with fall, troops will go hungry, and they won’t have enough bullets or energy or resolve to properly do your dirty work.

Time and Technology
The progress of time and technology will be controlled by the OP and the Mods, with major events, natural disasters, and defining epochs controlled by a Co-Op. New political movements, more effective firearms and ships, and shifts in the balances of power will shape the world around your nation, forcing you to adapt and survive, or pass into the annals of history.
New technological advancements, as well as where and by whom they are first developed, is determined through cooperation between the OP and the Mods, as well

Cultural Legacies: The proud traditions of your people from the disguinshing proficiencies of your nation. Whether you are feared for your historical prowess on the battlefield, reap the benefits of a hegemony in maritime trading and exploration experience, or are renown for your religious piety and fervor, these are the values and histories that set your people apart from their foreign rivals and will carry them to greatness.

Every nation begins with two aspects that define their Cultural Legacies

Examples: (seafaring, martial traditions, tradewinds, work and soil, diplomacy, lingua franca, etc.)

National Policies: The ideals which drive your nation’s leadership and legislature, stemming from the opinions, machinations, and schemes of its rulers, politicians, and populace. As times change and the tides of fortune ebb and flow, these ideals shift and grow as well.

2 National Policies are gained every twenty years. As these reforms and policies are implemented and change, and new technologies, movements, and ideals are created and become obsolete, new ones take their place. Every hundred years seven more are unlocked.

Examples: (Flintlock engineering, airship development, colonial administration, constitutional assemblies, racial equality, etc.)

Military
Warfare drives change, defines eras, and shapes history. Tying into every aspect of a nation and the world around them, wars will more often than not be decided by who was the greater military force. But having the best guns and largest army means nothing if you can’t provide for them, equip them, move them, keep them up to date and use them.

Based on factors such your economy, our nation’s culture, technological progress, and the political climate, your military’s composition, manpower, and overall function will differ. A force numbering roughly 0.2% of your nation’s population can serve as a minimum peacetime standing force, capable of performing garrison duties, patrolling your borders, and occupying forts and colonial outposts. Raising a military of the size needed to defend against invaders, conquering your enemies, and occupying foreign lands requires levies or other systems of raising manpower.

As technologies evolve, and civilizations advance and prosper, militaries may reform their structures and change. Military Reform takes time and is expensive, and moving from one Military Type to the next is by necessity a gradual process, taking at least a decade. If shifting to a less sophisticated Military Type, perhaps to allow for cheaper upkeep or a larger body of troops, reforming the military requires less time but is unable to mount an effective standing force during that time. Mercenaries or vassal states can provide troops for defence in the meantime.

There are a wide variety of Military Types that will determine the size of your military:

Warband Levies: Typically employed by savage races and primitive tribal cultures such as the Orcs or less advanced Humans, all able-bodied young men are expected to fight as warriors. Local warlords act as commanders, and equipment and uniforms tend to be provided by the individual soldier. While this system allows for rapid mobilization against invaders as well as a cheap and massive pool of manpower, it also has several disadvantages: warlords deprived of battle and loot usually descend into infighting, civil war can arise during peace due to a lack of distractions for tribal or personal rivalries, troop movements over long distances are usually slow and disorganized, and the economy will be directly affected by success or defeat.

This system allows for roughly 8% of your population to be mobilized, at maximum. However, approaching this maximum mobilization will result in an increased chance of internal unrest and infighting that can cripple a war effort.

Tributary Levies: Tributary vassal states raise levies to serve the central government, defending their own land as well as that of their masters. The rulers of subject territories pay and recruit a moderate force of semi-professional soldiers to be used in the service of the nation. Mobilization is moderately quick.

This system allows for a 4% maximum mobilization. However, vassal territories may revolt in the event of a military defeat, a prolonged war, or an popular government or ruler.

Feudal Levies: Large armies are raised from the peasantry and commanded by the noble class in the event of conflict, marching to defend their nation in the name of their ruler. The peacetime economy is stronger and more stable, though extended conflicts will have a large impact on a wartime economy. Peasant troops are poorly armed and equipped compared to the often far more effective aristocratic soldiers, who tend to form shock troops or specialist formations.

This system allows for a 3% maximum mobilization, and a semi-professional force. However, the majority of troops are not as well trained or equipped, and levies are not directly commanded by the nation.

National Militia: bodies of picked men serving under local lords creates a system of local defence forces, which are placed under national control in times of war. The economy is impacted very little, though may be affected during times of war by the demand for resources and manpower. The effectiveness of troops may vary depending on the centralization of command, training standards between regions, whether or not they are supplied with uniforms and weapons by the government or their local territory, etc.

This system allows for a 0.8% maximum mobilization during peacetime, and a 3% maximum mobilization during wartime.

National Conscription: Ranging from mandatory service periods in times of peace to a Levée en masse in times of war, military conscription employs a government system to raise, train, and equip a military force when needed. Mobilization takes time, but soldiers are well equipped and decently trained so long as the conscription systems in place are effective. Conscription may be unpopular, with the opinions of the populace depending largely on the politics involved and the fairness of the systems employed.

This system allows for a 2% maximum mobilization prior to the outbreak of war, and a 3% maximum after the outbreak of war if necessary.

Professional Armies: a small, professional force of highly trained soldiers serves in times of peace and war, and is paid and kept ready to deploy and fight by the government. While this allows for an effective military force ready to mobilize rapidly, large forces are extremely expensive.

This system allows for a 1% maximum mobilization in peacetime, and a 2% maximum in times of war, if enough volunteers can be found.

Mercenary Forces: Standing forces are created by employing the services of mercenaries. These troops, no matter their nationality or race, are as effective in battle as they are expensive to maintain. The local populace and economy, if all goes well, will remain unaffected by the horrors and impact of war, as mercenaries arm themselves and come well-trained by previous battle experience - only the coffers of the central government will bear the brunt of the war effort.

This system allows for a force equivalent to 2.5% or your population to be mobilized without placing severe strain on government finances. Less than 4% will leave little to no funds for other government budgets like naval forces, infrastructure, and colonies, while anything beyond that will cripple a state economically. Unlike other systems, these troops are not drawn from your available population manpower. However, if mercenaries go unpaid, they may recoup their losses by extracting payment from local populations and territories, or enter the employment of foreign enemies.

Military - Combat System***************

Land Combat
Morale - Morale determines your troop’s will to carry on the fight. Each unit begins with 2 Morale. Each day of combat a unit will take a Morale hit of 0.01 or 0.02 regardless of taking casualties. Casualties from battle with enemy inflict additional morale damage. Once an army's overall Morale value has been reduced to zero the army will attempt to retreat. Units in the field or on the march take morale damage from poor environmental conditions, and lack of stable supply lines, and long marches - reaching zero outside of conflict may result in army mutinies.
A unit that has its morale drop below 0.50 is disorganized and losing cohesion. A disorganized army is unable to properly maneuver until its morale has recovered above 0.50. Newly trained, inexperienced regiments without proper supplies and equipment will often fall below this threshold.
Morale is recovered in units by things such as being on friendly or home territory, your commander’s decisions, victories, and various policies and legacies.
Your soldiers need to eat! Supply lines affect your soldiers as much as Morale. Watch how far your armies march from your borders and the climate, overstretched Supply Lines can bring down your morale from 0.01-0.10, and may even begin to kill off your troops, rather then the enemy.

Niflheim is a land of honor and strength, glory and gold. Many workers fill the dock yards as they load and unload the ships and wagons that then travel throughout the Empire. Many business compete with each other in the cities and on the stock floors, the latest development. Stocks are big in Niflheim as many workers are not rich enough to start their own business, owning stock can, too a degree allow them to feel like owners. The Government highly regulates the trading of stock and only they can print new stock and only they have the recipe for the ink and paper. Not working is shameful in the Empire, while some kind-hearted folk work to ease their woes, they receive no support from the government, unless they are willing to serve in the military or expand the borders.

The military is the great bride of the nation with it's Magiteck infantry. Men equipped with the best technology and the best magic. The ships, cannons, and mortars all posses magical capabilities a single cannon ball can light an entire ship on fire. The infantry is armed with rifles and other small arms, swords, and of course their own personal magic. Even one soldier is a deadly force to reckon with. But what dwarfs all of the military is the scientists and the industry that backs them. The government is very much intrigued with new technology and new magic and so many business work to improve their military in any way.

Culturally Niflheim takes their word seriously and will defend their honor at any cost. While the government officially condones duels, local governments do little to stop them. All children are born with magical properties which grow over time naturally or through training with parents or masters or the military.

The government is ruled by the Emperor Iedolas but the people regularly vote for a chancellor every 6 years and governors every 3. Together the Emperor and Chancellor appoint the Lead General who commands the military. The Chancellor works all the governors to convey the people's wish to the Emperor while also working with researchers for both commercial and military purposes, along with other businesses.
Image

Currently Niflheim is working to send frontier men south while also establish trading posts to the north in the Pole. Small military detachments are set out as well to defend the frontiers men but the government would much prefer a more peaceful method if at all possible; so the frontier men try to establish trade with the locals at any opportunity.

The Clan Sends A Diplomat to the Ræpublique d'Ausfonaïle

Today Rorrin Drunkenfist ordered a diplomatic emissary be sent to the Ræpublique d'Ausfonaïle to discuss matters of trade. We were given a idea that potentially, a arms trade would be discussed. Something most of us believe is likely seeing as our smiths are some of the best in the world.

Government institutes mining subsidies

The government, noticing the falling profit of certain mining companies, particularly the Dras Leona mining corps, has instituted mining subsides, particulatly in Dras Leona and hopes to get back the monopoly on minerals.

Road to Kow, Sinjua Province

The seats of the Quaggoth pulled carriage were rough, after the three long days of travel the young soldier's buttocks became sore from the endless traveling. She examined her club, trying not to look at her holy majesty that say behind her, all eight of her legs crossed neatly and covered by a beautiful white silken robe made from the nuns at the Sisterhood. The soldier cleared her throat and gently tugged on the reigns of the Quaggoths, making them slow down ever so slightly, the lead beast glanced behind. She gave them an order to double their speed, and if they arrive to Kow by nightfall they would be relieved of their services for rest of the month. The quaggoth nodded and all eight of them moved faster, with the motivation of relaxation speeding them up. The guard looked to her side, her fellow guard had remained silent for most of the trip, and the silence was starting to irk her. Her mouth opened but then closed as she was remembered of their earlier altercation. I'm a fucking idiot I swear... Oh well as soon as we get there we can go our separate ways... Hopefully. She reached into her pocket and took out an amulet that she looked longingly into, gently caressing the engravings on her horns as she let out a heavy sigh.

"You're married?" The fellow Yuanti spoke up finally, his interest had peaked finally and for once she had felt relieved.

"No engaged, my bondmate is on pilgrimage so we had to separate for the meantime... But I'm not worried, Ri Lay was always a faithful person..."

"You're afraid of infidelity? Why so?" The casual conversation turned into more of an interrogation and she knew it but wanted to see where he would go with it so she kept feeding into it.

"It's not infidelity that I'm afraid of... Our parents weren't exactly fond of our bondage, saying it was sacrilege and a disgrace in the eyes of her most holiness but-"

"But Our Mother Nimue Is A Mother To All, She Sees All Of Us, Her Children, Equal In Birth And In Death. You Needest Not Worry Young Aurora, For The House Of Nimue Is One That Celebrates The Sacred Bonding Of Two Souls." The High Priestess spoke fondly, she didn't raise her voice but her voice carried over like waves bombarding the rocky cliffside and shook both guards to their cores. Aurora looked over her shoulder, through the slot to the High Priestess Gwendolin who sat upon a massive cushion in a carriage lined in silver and gold.

"You majesty, you are awake."

"When you have ascended to my plan of tranquility, you are always awake Pyous" The massive Yuanti priestess smiled softly, her voice had a different, softer modulation that made their hearts melt and souls weep. Pyous blushed ever so slightly, pulling his cap over his eyes as he looked onward, but Aurora kept looking the holy priestess for about an hour before holding the amulet to her heart. She shifted her abdomen to a more comfortable position and fixed her legs so they weren't accidentally poking Pyous in the thigh. They had the anatomy similar to Arachne and Driders but were far stronger than they could ever dream to be. Aurora let out a soft sigh and smiled to herself as she grabbed the reigns and cracked them as they rode off into the day, chasing the sun as the moon chased them.

30 km from the coast; 300 km from Vas, Vilja Province

"Are you ready?!" The fisherman shouted as the four fishers grabbed hold of their harpoons and prepared themselves for the mighty beast that was about to breach the water. On the boat was a young man, just now turning 15 years old, and on his first hunt in what will be a job that will consume his life until his death in the next century.

"Yessir!" The young Yuanti man was placed on the bow of the ship, squatting down to look at the water's surface, and he could vaguely see the large mass of blubber and flesh quickly ascend to the water's surface. "Here it comes!" Just as he spoke, the massive black whale breached, launching it's fat body towards the sky before splashing down, shaking the boat with a tremendous force. As the whale came down and rested near the surface of the water, the boy took a large gulp of air and yelled as he lept off the boat and slammed the harpoon he had in his hand down onto the forehead of the whale. The whale let out a bellous groan as it attempted to flee into the depths, but it was soon pelted down by harpoons as the either three whalers dove in with their harpoons and drove them deep into the mass of the whale. The whale gave a mighty splash with it's tail before it's body tensed up as the young boy placed his hand on his own harpoon "ACCELERATION!" his hand glowed a dark purple hue and his eyes formed a trail of purple energy. Suddenly, the harpoon disappeared inside the whale and shot through the whale's forehead and down it's body. It's large massive body floating up to the surface.

"Aha! I told you getting a mage boy would be a good idea!" The captain of the vessel laughed as he helped them back onto the ship and patted the boy on the back. The boy was trained under the sisterhood, but he didn't want to become a priest or a psion in the military, he wanted to work on the seas. He smiled at the captain, who gave the boy some papyrus parchment and smirked. "Welcome to the crew." The boy looked at the document and his eyes lit up, a letter of commendation upon the HHS (Her Holiness' Ship) Judrow. To that the other three whalers picked him up and paraded him around the ship, chanting the words:
ROGA SHA! ROGA SHA! ROGA SHA! A chant said by men in the navy and by sailors abroad. The horns of the boy were later engraved with the markings of his first kill, an ornate whale that was painstakingly done at the base of his horn. Later on he would get his first tattoo, the eye of Nimue was tattooed under his left eye and from that day forth he took the name of Illdrin Ra'Noiya.

The Sisterhood Monastery, 20 km from Qrow, Kalgro Province

The Monastery stood as an ancient reminder of the old days, when the religion was in it's infancy. It was built by it's founders, and since had been revered as a necessary location on one's pilgrimage to Qrow, which was why the young Ri Lay had ventured up to the summit of the mountain to meet with the Sisterhood. She panted, her legs wobbled ever so slightly as she exhaustedly made it to the Monastery doors, using her psionic abilities to knock on the door as she collapsed on the ground.

"W... Why is such a holy site... so... hard to get to..."

"It keeps the monsters at bay, in case you were wondering." A voice said infront of her, and she looked up to the tiny arachne priestess that stood inches from her face. "I am Sister Jill, on behalf of the House of Nimue I welcome you to the Monastery." She bowed, folding her forelegs as her fore-mid, for-hind and hind legs supported her up. Ri's legs moved a bit, wobbling a little before she straightened up and bowed as well.

"Thank you Sister Jill, my name i-"

"Ri Lay Ki'Kow, Oracle of the Sun has predicted your arrival, come in, we can provide food, shelter and I presume a well earned bath if you so request it." The nun lowered the veil over her face and moved gracefully into the Monastery, and in turn so did Ri, the door closing behind both of them. Within the Monastery were hundreds of other sisters and a few brothers that were meditating in pure absolute silence; in fact the entire Monastery was shadowed by the ominous silence. "I will take you to your room for the remainder of your pilgrimage. I have also been told to give you this, a gift from her Holiness."

"H-Her Holiness!?" She spoke loudly, her voice echoed and carried itself throughout the halls but no one raised an eyebrow or gave her any attention. "Why has her Holiness..."

"By the request of your bondmate, to ease herself of mind her Holiness granted her a favor." Jill handed her a small ornate box, and then proceeded to move to the dormitory, where a few other sisters were but were talking in hushed whispers to one another. "Sister Avory, Lili and Dilni, what is the matter?" The largest of the three looked down at the miniscule arachne.

"The Oracle of the Moon has fallen ill, Lower Priest is on his way from Qrow to see to her healing..."

"Oh dear, a bad omen as she feared..." Jill sighed and bowed to her fellow priestesses before she continued to walk, her tiny legs barely keeping a faster pace than the large strides of the Yuanti behind her. "Here we are, your room for the meanwhile. We have supplied you with papyrus and ink if you wish to write a letter and meals are served before, and after dawn as well as the afternoon and dusk. Please enjoy your stay and may you find tranquility in your pilgrimage." Ri bowed at the priestess and she bowed back, leaving the Yuanti to herself in the large room. Ri sighed softly as she looked at the box and held it to her chest as she laid down in the mass of pillows and silken sheets, wrapped herself carefully in the bundle and took a well deserved rest.

The Union of States of Aurineia, the land of Liberty and Union across the Great Oceans from the old world, for some at least. A nation that's great population hearths are along the coast, yet, her people are heading West in droves, for the nations 'Manifest Destiny' to head west to bring civilization, and Democracy to the the Savages of the continent. Though Autemnia may be her capital, the largest city throughout the new Republic, is New Ely, the Industrial center of the new nation. While the third largest city, is the port of Bamburgh, the center of the War of Independence prior to Autemnia.

In the South, the states thrive off of the enslavement of the people of Afux and native Aurineia, including the Lupinkin people who the Aurineian slave holders say, are an insult to God, and so slave traders routinely raid Lupinkin villages, torching them and kidnapping children, females and strong males, executing the warriors who resist. They are then branded, sold, and used to pick the many cash crops of Aurineia, such as Tobacco, Indigo, Rice, and the ever growing popular, Cotton. the largest port in the South, is the Ironically named Libertalia, where a majority of the Human Slave trade passes through.

The frontier of Aurineia, is a rugged country. The few Aurineian settlements and forts are connected by rough roads surrounded by nature. But underneath that, lays a land potentially rich in fertility, and timber, coal and Iron to fuel the growth of the new republic. But come the mighty Jebugsipi river, the world is unknown, savage men and races, man killing foliage and fauna, but still, the idea of the treasures, land and prosperity drive Manifest Destiny further west.

Such is, the upstart Republic.

Verstael stood before the Emperor, the chancellor sitting next to the Emperor on the left a bit lower, and Glauca to the right lower as well. "Understood my lord. I will prepare a ship to Aurineia at once." With that the head mage left the chamber. The Emperor looked over at the other two, "How goes your orders?"

"Ah, quite well actually." Ardyn said, "All the little duchess and kingdoms have agreed to join the Empire. They saw writing on the wall. That they would do better being apart of the Empire, reduced trade barriers, better defenses, better factories, better schools."

Glauca smirked, "I think they saw my Magitek infantry and realized they wouldn't have survived."

Ardyn smiled, "Perhaps they did. Oh! right, a tribe to the north in the poles we were able to convince them to join the empire it seems!"

The Emperor looked surprised, "Really? I thought the poles would have fought us."

"No, no, from what I read it was just a matter of simple trading and we slaughtered a rival tribe. They have allowed us to set up defenses as long as we continue to trade with them." Ardyn relayed

"Good, good." the Emperor muttered lost in thought, "dismissed."

The two got up, turned, and bowed and walked down away from the throne to the door, "Oh Ardyn,"

"Yes, Emperor?" Ardyn replied looking at Glauca with a smirk

Glauca glared at Ardyn before marching off in anger, only making Ardyn happier.

"Make sure the elections in the new areas go smoothly." the Emperor ordered

"Yes, my lord."

Maritime Route to the Free City of é Silmárkon, HHS Ilkreed (Diplomatic Envoy)

"Oi captain Iko, how any idea how much farther we got?" The first mate of the Yuanti captain asked as he entered the captain's quarters, eyepatch over his right eye where an impressive scar now covers. The captain didn't look up from his map as he looked at the charted course, the map was salvaged from ancient texts and was recreated with their current knowledge of the world. In texts they described a city state North of Olrow Island, and the Lower Priest had sent them out on this mission to establish communication and trade with the city state.

"About a day's travel, perhaps more if everything is accounted for correctly." The captain took off his glasses and looked at the large breed arachne, "go and tell the crew to prepare for land... Now excuse me I must connect with the Lower Priest." The arachne nodded and closed the door, and as he did the captain stood up and moved the table aside, lighting a special black candle and using the melting wax to create a symbol on the ground. The marks on his horns started to glow as he channeled his energy to make contact. My lord...

Cornelius, how goes your travels...

Good Sir Ragnar, we can practically see the main land.

Good. Report back to me after you have completed your mission. Now if you don't mind I must talk to our other team.

As you wish my lord. And with that the candle blew out and his horns stopped glowing. He stood up and cleaned up the mark from the ground before he continued with his duty of charting the map.

Bamburgh Port, Union of States of Aurineia; HHS Haven (Diplomatic Envoy)

The large Yuanti female glanced at the humans as they passed by the ship, sailors and merchants that looked at the Treasure Ship which dwarfed some of the other ships in the docks. She walked back to the crews quarters to see the band of diplomats prepare themselves, she took off her cap and looked at them all. They wore bright blue robes and tall mitre hats but one of them adorned a uniform lined with medals and honors, with a large saber to her side.

"General Illya, we've been garnering unwanted attention." The soldier spoke, and without looking the general responded while fiddling with her buttons.

"Then stand out there with your men, you have been entrusted to protect and serve us, so go do it." She looked at the soldier, looking at her uniform minus her hat which was resting on her stomach by a string that hung behind her neck. "Artillerymen?"

"Yes ma'am, Korona Vi'Kres Support Warrior 5th Rate."

"You're a from the frontier? How is it there?" The general fixed her cap between her three horns (forehead, left and right), and started to walk out with the deacons and minister. Due to the importantancy of the people aboard, they had to buff up security and the worry that they would be perceived as an invasion force or a threat was thought of but the High Priestess had faith. With them were five Field Warriors (1st Rate (lowest), 5th Rate, 7th Rate, and a 12th Rate(third highest rank)), two Psions (Apprentice (Third lowest), and an Apostle (Highest)) and the lone artillerymen, but that was only counting the soldiers and not the navy men that manned the several Griffen Cannons and harpoons. Korona followed Illya outside,

"It is nice, a bit wild with the beast encounters but overall it's quite quiet compared to life near the capital." The general nodded as the large plank of wood was dropped down onto the dock, with the 8 soldiers boarding off first, their massive weapons sheathed as a show of good faith, and then the diplomats departed next. "These... Humans was it? They are so small, remind me of harpies..."

"Don't be so insulting 5th Rate, we are ambassadors for her Holiness." The male psion beside her said, his eyes were glassy white but he didn't seem the least bit blind. She hushed up at his words, he alone outranked her 20 times over, so she was going to stay quiet. "Do they know of our arrival?"

"Yes, her Holiness was smart in that regard, she had a messenger come here to deliver them the message of our arrival. Hopefully that means we don't make too much of a mess." The General smirked softly as they began to walk, eight spider-like women and 6 demon-like men, all towering at 2 to 3 meters, down the docks.

Marshals Abdaile am-Shan and Zoran am-Jiurdainón marched down the long hall, their steps synchronised. The hall were decorated with tall columns and traditional Kataliòic patterns adorning the walls. The guards posted at every four columns glanced at them and clicked their heels as they passed. Near the end of the hall stood the young and upstart diplomat, Alçert Kàmzez, wearing a slightly worn-down gentlemen's suit.

"You're both late. What the hell took you so long?" Alçert asked while pacing towards the marshals, and then back towards the door when the men were close enough.

"We had other matters to attend to. The President should not be too annoyed." Zoran said.

Alçert shook his head and continue towards the door. Two Republican Guards glanced at the men and one marched to the two wooden doors, knocked and pushed them open. The room inside the doors was large, with dusty walls various furniture covered by white cloth. To his right, he could hear the shuffling of papers and the scratching of a quill. As the three men walked walked closer to the room, the guard stepped into the room and clicked his heels.

"Marshals am-Shan and am-Jiurdainón and Diplomat Alçert Kàmzez." The guard retreated behind the door.

The old President Moustafa-Kemal Kamüs, who had been in the revolution since its inception, looked up and waved the men in.

"Do come in, you're all late." He said as he placed his quill down and took off his reading glasses. The man was in his late sixties, and his health has been suffering under the weight of leading the revolution. His eyes were slightly sunken into his skull, yet there was still an aura authority around him. Abdaile began to speak when the president cut him off.

“I do plan on engaging in talks with the dwarves on a potential arms deal. I know modernizing the military is quite high up on your list of priorities, correct?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Right, but before that, I will be receiving the Yuanti high-priestess. We need secure borders and friendly neighbours before we expand our land and rearm the military.” President Kamüs looked at the globe on his table before turning to the tall set of windows behind him. “Anything else?”

“Yes, sir. It concerns the navy.”

“The navy?”

“Yes sir, our navy’s very underdeveloped.”

“Right, so what would you like me to do about it?” The president asked quizzically, looking directly at Zoran’s eyes. Zoran took a deep breath and answered.

“I think we should put more money into modernizing the navy as well. We will be able to extend out power into the seas and be able to conduct trade much more easily.”

President Kamüs went silent for a moment, taking a deep breath before replying.

“I will take that into consideration.”

“Thank you, sir.”

President Kamüs then walked back to his desk and sat down. He picked up his glasses and began cleaning them.

“I’m sure you know about Zeman’s brigade … In Khofar.” He said. “They’re demanding more money now.”

The marshals said nothing, expecting the president to continue.

“We need to be rid of them. They’re starting to pose a real problem to the republic.”

“Is that why you called us here today?”

“Partially. I need you two to send 10,000 men to neutralise them. You are capable of that, yes?”

“Yes, sir.” Zoran and Abdaile said in unison.

“Right. Begin gathering the best men. An additional 500 Republican guard can be taken on this mission. Besides that, I would like you three to receive the Yuanti high-priestess with me. The ceremony and talks will begin in two days. Meet me back here then.”

“Yes sir.”

“Thank you, dismissed.”

Køw, Border between d'Ausfonaïle and the Yuanti Sovereignty

Aurora took out her pocket watch and sighed softly as she shifted the small sandbags that were on her armor, taking off her shaded hat as she looked down at the human guards that tried to keep their steadfast resolve as they were told to wait here at the border for an escort by the Ausfonaïle government. As they waited, the High Priestess exited the small house sized carriage, stretching out her 6 meter long legs and causing one of the guards to gasp a little, taking several steps back in astonishment and horror.

"They're staring at us..." Pyous muttered as he slammed his square bladed sword into the ground and pulled out his Griffen rifle, pulling the barrel of the gun up to get to the firing mechanism. The gun was simple, borrowing how cannons function: The gun itself was just a cannon in it of itself, but a stock is added on the end to decrease the amount of recoil it would produce, if needed a large monopod could be attached to the bottom of the rifle to keep it steady. How the gun is fired is again similar to cannon but with a step removed, on the underside of the cannon was a blast cap, which would ignite the gunpowder in the rifle to fire the projectile. However there is no fuse and instead the artillerymen are designed to wear slow burning sticks of incense on their helmets, the heat from the burning stick would cause the cap to go off and fire the rifle. Reloading the rifle took another leap, as the oddity of it almost became its downside when it was being elected as the militaries rifle. The gun reloaded by pulling the barrel of the gun up, moving it upward to reveal the inside of the cannon; the insides of the cannon would face the right side of the rifle, so that someone who is right handed wouldn't risk their face being blown off if the rifle malfunctioned (doesn't favor left handed people though). Then the artillerymen would put in a packet of gunpowder (about 4 ounces per packet) and then the 3 inch lead or iron ball would be inserted, the gun would be closed and the artillerymen could fire their gun once more. This process is faster than current flintlock rifles but it has it's obvious downsides that only a Yuanti or a race of a stronger nature, could really ever use them, that and the ridiculous recoil on the rifle doesn't allow for the cannon to be shouldered, and most users hip-fire it.

"Just keep your nerves to yourself, the escort shouldn't be too long from now..." Aurora said as she had sat down for the meantime, taking off her helmet and taking a deep sigh as she started to weave something using her silk. High Priestess Gwendolin did nothing but silently meditate.

Bamburgh Harbor, Melkdon, the Union of States of Aurineia
The usually busy dock in Bamburgh became quiet, besides the groaning of ships hull's and the sea birds. Sailors, Customsmen and civilians stared in curiosity as the foreign, and alien looking delegation. Near the docks end, two men stood there looking on at the delegation, as if they were ready to speak with them, because they were. These two men, were famous Aurineian Frontiersmen Jeremiah Sumner, and the Governor of Melkdon, Innocent Brannon, and behind them two Guards from the Congressional Army.As the Yuanti delegates came closer, the Governor, raised his hands and shouted cheerfully.
"Welcome, to our humble Republic!", much to the displeasure of the Jeremiah
Jebugsipi Territory, near the Jebugsipi river
A large group of people, some 2,500 people, 500 soldiers of the Congressional Army, 250 frontiersmen and 1,750 settlers, men, women, children, Storekeeper, Craftsmen, and planters moved west with multiple wagons across the wild frontier. Soon, the Jebusipi River was insight, along with the Nopani River. Over the course of three days the Frontiersmen cut down trees, as Craftsmen built planks, and store keepers sold hammers and nails, and built a bridge. After an additional day, the whole group crossed the Jebusipi River, and now was in the bend between both rivers. Th next day, a ceremony was held, where a flag pole was erected, and General Johnson rode forward on his white steed, and dismounted, and turned to a crowd, and spoke.
"With the settling of this land, I hereby proclaim this settlement, Fort Independence, and claim all land between the Nonapi River, and as far North to the end of the Civilized world!" he said, as the flag of the Union was raised, and a group of Civilian Chorus sung the national anthem.

Map of expansion

Autemnia
The capital of the the Union, was quiet, most people had gone home, with it being in the early morning, with few carriages or people walking about, and lamps were being turned off, yet inside the capital building, an argument was going on in the capital building, which could change the fate of the nation.
Inside the Capital Building
In the halls of Congress, a men were shouting at each other, calling each others halfwits, morons and other slanderous terms, when all of a sudden, a man in a black coat, shouted.
"Quiet!" the whole room went quiet, as men looked at the man, and began to sit down. That man, was President Patterson, who was now seated and rubbing his head, as his Vice President, Albert Mackey who was seated next to him began to speak.
"Now, can we hear the complaint from the Honorable Gentlemen from the South?" he said, irritated just like Patterson.
A man on the left side of the room, rose, one Birmingham Farr from Kingston.
"Thank you Mr.Mackey. Now before I was so rudely interrupted by the 'Gentlemen' from New Ely and Melkdon, the all out abolition of Slavery would devastate the economy, freeing the Lupinkin and Negro Slaves would destroy the economy of the South. However, I have a compromise. I will admit, the Negroes during the War of Independence served valiantly, and did tip the scale for our Republic, so the Negroes shall be set free, and given the rights as other Humans. While, the Lupinkin shall be continued to be enslaved, but the capturing of them, shall end in 30 years." Farr said.
The delegates from New Ely and Melkdon widened their eyes, and shook their heads agreeing, because least they'll be freeing the Humans in bondage. President Patterson looked across the room, and spoke. "All for?" a majority of the room raised their hands. "All oppose?" two or three delegates rose their hands. A man in the corner, who began writing since Farr spoke, brought a paper to President Patterson.
"So it is, all Negroes in bondage shall hereby granted freedom, and to add, the Rights of Men and the importation of Lupinkin slaves, shall cease in 30 years." Patterson said, dipping a feather pen into a bottle of ink, and signing the paper.

King Grana
Chrana
Kingdom of Atel

It was a grand day in the Kingdom of Atel. Just days before, a messenger from the High Chiefdom of Wurnheim had arrived in Chrana, with confirmation that High Chief Handræn had agreed to a diplomatic summit in the border town of Lorilai, with the intention of discussing a possible alliance between the two nations.

The Atelan Yensa had long enjoyed cordial relationships with the giants of Wurnheim, both races understanding the realities of an existence standing over three times the height of most other races.
As such, it was only a matter of time before this friendship became official.

At that very moment, a large host of servants were travelling to Lorilai in order to prepare the town for the summit.

King Grana himself was preparing to travel the next day, intending to oversee the preparations, as well as helping out where needed.

"Are you sure you do not wish to come with us, Dessai?" Grana asked, worried for his son. "I know you have formed a decent friendship with Gavac, after all."

"Thank you for your concern father, but it is for the best." Prince Dessai answered. "One of us should stay back and mind the city while you and Matra are in Lorolai. You never know when an enemy nation might try to attack, or when General Gan and General Myugin will start fighting..."

At his sons comment, King Grana let out a loud chuckle.

"True, the day those two can stand in the same room without at the very least indirectly insulting each other is still a long way off. It's a good thing that they'd have no way to entertain themselves without each other, otherwise they'd probably have murdered each other a long time ago!"

However, once he finished laughing, he levelled a serious gaze at his son.

"Are you sure you'll be alright on your own here?"

"I'll be fine, father." Dessai said, placing a reassuring hand on his fathers shoulder. "You have been training me to rule my entire life. You can count on me for this. Besides, your job may prove to be even more important than mine. If it works out, both our nations may levels of prosperity neither could have ever known alone."

The king sighed.

"I suppose that's true. Very well, I will leave you in charge of the city during my absence."

He moved to leave the room, before turning to face his son with a slightly nervous expression.

"Just make sure its still here when I get back, yes?"

"Yes father." Dessai said, a knowing grin on his face. "I promise I won't allow the city to be destroyed in the three weeks you will be gone."

The king smiled, and turned to leave.
His son was right. His choices over the next few weeks would effect every citizen of the kingdom for generations upon generations. He needed to make sure that he got everything right.

If this worked out though, the two nations could be one of the greatest alliances the world had ever seen.

High Chief Handræn,
Dol Wuthrum,
High Chiefdom of Wurheim

Dol Wuthrum, the ‘City of Giants’ as the humans had taken to naming it, a bustling centre for trade and commerce built high out of stones mankind could only dream about lifting, it sat on the shore of one of South Aurineia’s great lakes and served as the Capital for all Giantkind.

The figure of Handræn, leader of the Giants stood out upon one of the City walls. He reminisced about a time long gone, in which he was able to run for miles, slay foes with a single blow but now he neared his seventh century, as far as he knew he was the oldest being in existence, the establisher of Giantkind’s civilisation, the chosen of Dol to united the tribes into one. Now he sought to do one final deed before he joined Dol in battling the blue abyss above, he would be the one to make friendship offical between his people and the Atelan Yensa to the south.

He had met with King Grana on multiple occasions although they were largely informal, indeed his son Gavac had grown fond of Grana’s son Dessai the two acted as if they were brothers, when they would rise to the throne of their respective nations, well, Dol help those who dare challenge them.

It was not long before a second figure join the High Chief on the walls of the City, a strong looking Giant within his three-hundredth year, a mammoth wool cloak slung loosely over his right shoulder falling upon his bare chest covered in dark blue designs.

“Gavac my son.” Handræn said, his deep voice bellowing.

“Have you prepared yourself for the travel ahead of us?, it is two days on foot before we reach Lorilai.”

“I’m prepared Father, I’ve spent the last few hours making the necessary sacrifices for a safe trip and for bountiful negotiations.”

A smile spread across Handræn’s face.

“Good, Good, we shall not keep the Atelans waiting then, come. We shall begin our travels.”

The two proceeded to ground levels, summoning for the gate to be opened the two Giants begun their journey that could lead towards the greatest alliance to ever grace the face of Aurineia.

Castrum Ethguard
Hall of the Flaming Sword

The sounds that surrounded Grandmaster Ethar were the sounds of prayer and meditative contemplation. Kneeling before the alter of the Hall, really a fortified monastery, he cast his eyes downward allowing the prayers of the his faithful brothers to wash over him until it was his turn to lead the prayer again.

"O most High Lord do not forsake your boisterous children, reach your hand down to us and snatch us away from the jaws of the ever present Serpent. Praise be, praise be to you most loving Lord."

"Praise be, praise be. King of kings, lord of all things have mercy on us."

"Most holy Trivinity deliver us to victory, for we fight in your name. Cloth our souls in your sacred cloak and assume the fallen into your Kingdom. We live, we die, we forever serve you. Ameeen!"

"Ameen."

It was almost half an hour before anyone moved to leave, all remained kneeling in silent prayer until a bell could be heard in the distance signaling the end of Evening Duties. All stood minus the Grandmaster he remained in prayer for another whole hour.

On his way out of the Hall Grandmaster Ethar was intercepted by a young squire who must have been waiting here for him since prayer ended an hour ago, a patient boy something that Ethar will have to remember.

"Grandmaster the Paladin-Lord's believe it would be best to mobilize the knights to war, they fear that war is brewing on the northern border."

"Return to them and say that the Grandmaster will be bringing the Army of the Sanctum to the North."

"Yes sire."

With that the young squire scrambled away and Ethar made his way to the stables, ordering the Horse Tenders to rouse the knights and messengers to prepare for a march north and possibly war.

Looking over to the chapel where he was just at he muttered a prayer.

"Lord grant us the strength to drive our enemies from the field and break their spirits. Amen Lord swipe them away, Amen."

The Frontier, Southern Border of the Yuanti Sovereignty.

The last of the bandits were quickly dispatched as the 2nd Arachne Army stampeded through the unforged lands, taking no prisoners as they lead their crusade throughout the land. As they passed through camps, Humans, Lupinkin and Harpies were liberated under the banner of Nimue, and were all taught of the House of Nimue's grace through the chaplains that went along side the armies. Those who did not wish to subscribe to her religion were allowed to, but the House of Nimue received a great number of followers that day, through the might of the Yuanti armies. Warlords were promptly executed, and their subjects either executed for their crimes or liberated for their innocence. For the word of Nimue stats: Spare the tired soul, but reap the rewards of the chosen dead. That day, the Yuanti Sovereignty was able to almost encompass the entirety of Lake Lothric.

Bamburg Harbor, Melkdon

The deacons and general all bowed in respect, bowing got them to eye level to the Frontiersmen and Governor.

"Greetings, I am General Illya Va'Køw and on behalf of the Yuanti Sovereignty, I am honored. At the request of her Holiness, I would like to present you with a gift." The deacons produced two medium sized statues, one made of pure gold and the other of jade and silver. The gold statue was that of a bird, sleek narrow body and a brazen flame trailing behind it. The Sparrow, the Yuanti sign of peace and the jade silver one was of two hands, grasping a hammer and sickle in each hand; the Yuanti sign of prosperity. "We offer you these gifts as a sign of mutual respect, and for the potential that our two nations may become... Mutually prosperous."

Verstael had spent months at sea traveling to Aurenia and his ship had been blown of course. He was landing in New Ely. A big city with churches and artisans everywhere. Near the rivers early signs of industrialization where taking place. Verstael laughed Nifheim had been industrializing for the past 20 years under his watch. Perhaps he could show a thing or two to the Aurenians. Many buildings had flags attached to them, very patriotic Verstael noted.

"This way sir," one of the Aurenian diplomats said, "Allow me to give you a tour of New Ely."

Back in Kolen a war had broken out btwn Niflheim and the Duchie of Treno over the Leviathan river. General Glauca is moving forces (total strength=200K) down both sides the river with hopes of annexing Treno.
In the Pole Ardyn has entered into negotiation with many clans along the Northern bay. The Negotiations will create the Polish Confederacy and then join Niflheim as a Kingdom. The different tribes are working to fix their past disputes but Ardyn is promising them a stronger nation and advanced technology.

Bamburgh harbor, Melkdon
The Governor marveled at the statues, looked back at the troops, nodded, and then the troops nodded back, as a blackman yelled, and from then a group of men who work at the docks came forward, picked up the statues and put them on a cart, and the Governor looked back at the Delegates. "Those are truly some of the finest statues to ever grace our Republic, I'll have them shipped to Autemnia to grace the halls of Statues in Autemnia. And from my personal expenses, a gift" he said as another man brought forward on a different cart, and men unloaded a large crate, and opened it, revealing large coats, finely detailed and of vibrant colors made of cotton. "When I heard you were you coming, I placed an order down South for Coats for you, such as these, I had to hire some Biologist as I didn't exactly know the size of your species, an~" the Governor was interrupted by Jeremiah who coughed, the Governor glared at him, and Jeremiah began to speak. "We all know that you didn't come hear to hear the endless rambling of a Governor, but to establish something, and the question is what." Jeremiah said as the Governor grumbled.
New Ely
A well dressed Lupinkin slave opened the door to a Carriage, and motioned for Verstael to step in, followed by Mr. Graham Wellsly, the diplomat. The Carriage went off, down the Avenues of New Ely.
"And here we have the State house, where the senate and house of the state meet" Wellsly said pointing at the State House. Further up the road near town hall he pointed at the City Square, at a large monument. "And there is the monument of President Patterson, celebrating his days as a General during the Revolution.". They then crossed the Bradford River. "And here is the cities Industrial district" he said, passing many small Cotton Mills, Workshops and small Factories. Soon they were on the outskirts to New Ely, small houses and stores, like Most of Aurineian towns, were they pulled up to another Carriage this time with a Presidential seal on it and a black human driving it, though more happier then the Lupinkin.
"Mr.Thompson will drive you to Quincy till about nighttime, and continue tomorrow at Midday to Autemnia".

The forest stood silent, except for the occasional sound of water dripping off leaves onto the ground below, or the sound of a bird chirping off in the distance, there was also another sound, one that could only be heard if someone strained their ears as hard as they good, the sound of leaves softly crunching beneath someones feet.

"Hold up" A voice broke the silence, it sounded deep, and raspy.

Shortly after the voice was heard, two Lupinkin slowly made their way out of a bush, both wearing native Lupinkin clothing, one was wielding a spear, while the other was wielding a bow.

"What is it, Kelku?" Said the one with the spear, tightening his grip on the weapon. His ears moving in different directions trying to listen for any sound that "didn't belong"

"Up ahead Ferro, look" Kelku pointed to a break in the trees. What could be seen through the small break was what appeared to be a small Aurineian convoy, soldiers walking beside carriages with what they could guess contained a different assortment of supplies.

Ferro snarled, before speaking
"We have the advantage, we could attack, kill as many as we can, then slip back into the shadows. Avenge the ones they've enslaved and slaughtered"

"No, it's not worth the risk. What I want to do is to follow them, see where they're going, then report our findings back to the tribe"

Ferro opened his mouth, like he was about to protest, but slowly shut it, loosening the grip on his spear, Kelku stared at him for a moment before turning his head back to the small break in the trees, his eyes watching intently at the passing convoy.
After the convoy moved past the small break, and was out of sight, Kelku spoke "Alright, let's go"

He motioned for them to begin walking the way the convoy was headed, after making sure his quiver still had some arrows in it, just in case they got into a fight, Ferro nodded, before they both began to start walking.

Gonkalduhr
Rorrin had recently begun to worry about the threat to the nations southeast. After a while this worry had morphed into a reolve to defend his nation to the best of his ability against the religious fanatics, seeing as many of his subjects did not follow the forger religion he worried that they might invade the countries southeastern border. In this revalation he had ordered a system of forts to be built along strateigic points on the border, in paricular valleys in places hard to pass, and hard to defend fields, although the fields are very important to protect, as the clan has very little agriculture. In the meantime he had ordered 250k infantry and 5k archers to man the border defense until the forts can be finished. Realizing that during the war there might be a small shortage of equipment, he allowed a 5% tax cut to industries who work for the Military.

In Niflheim a total force of 75K have been sent into the poles to help defend the polish villages from werewolf attacks. 25k of that is hunting down the rebels with the help of Confederate forces. Meanwhile the Poles have been put to work building ports and cities to help facilitate trading. The Cetra have sent missionaries to open schools in the nation with a focus on education than conversion. General Glauca has also opened military academies to better train the village fighters. Ardyn is working to establish the capital of the new province and help the election of governor take place.

In Treno a mere 10K forces were killed in action during the war. But victory was won and there names are that of legend now. Currently 15K forces occupy the city helping with reconstruction and promoting democracy in the prior Kingdom. Trading has been restored btwn Niflheim and Treno.

In the Capital Iedolas has been pondering and pacing back and forth. Luckily Ardyn and Glauca were here. Ideolas had been quite lonely.

"They are weak my lord. They hide in their caves and dig. Their formal military still has archers. They are slow and do not have strong magical abilities. My forces would quickly destroy them." Glauca informed the Emperor.

"But diplomacy must not be forgotten, we don't want to fight Ræpublique d’Ausfonaïle, nor the giants." Ardyn warned showing off his linguistic skills

"I-I will write a letter." Iedolas said, "to Camelone."

This Proclamation hereby declares that Emperor Iedolas with the support of Chancellor Ardyn and General Glauca. With the Support of 8 of the 10 Governors. With the Support of all the military captains hereby issues that Niflheim offers support to the nation of Camelone should they desire our support. The Emperor has seen the dispute and agrees that the land rightfully belongs Camelone and hopes that the Drunkenfist clan relinquish control to Camelone.

Verstael sat in the carriage as it pulled into Quincy. Students constantly walked around going to and from. "You know I grew up in Midgar, our college town." Verstael said, "being head researcher I have influence on our colleges and universities."

The diplomat listened to Verstael carefully, "Do you think we could collaborate on research?" he asked Verstael

"Some, not all, but some. I'll pass it on to our colleges and maybe we could develop a student exchange program."

Coastal Town of Al-Bathmmüs

The diplomat stood on the docks flanked by two National Guardsmen of whom he hadn't bothered to learn their names. The diplomat's name was Doctor Anwar Ibn-Salaam. Previously, he had worked under the old Regime of the theocratic Kingdom as a high-level bureaucrat, but he had proven himself valuable to the Republic during the revolution, leading him to where he is now: awaiting the Dwarven diplomat to finally arrive.

As he looked out to the sea, he could see the Dwarven ship finally closing into the docks. He heard one of the guards taking a breath. He knew a stupid question was coming.

"Sir, may I ask a question about our visitors?" One of the guardsmen asked with a genuinely curious tone; not unlike that of a child. Anwar looked back at the guard.

"Yes?" He said.

"Exactly how tall are these dwarves? Because I've been told they're either below our waists or just about a head shorter and a bit bulkier." The guardsman asked with a working-class accent.

Anwar had a sarcastic reply on the tip of his tongue, and he was about to spit it out at the man until he realised that he himself had no idea how tall the dwarves were. Anwar paused for a moment before speaking.

"To be honest, I'm not sure."

By now, the ship was nearly docked. Anwar watched the ship closing in and slowing down. On the deck of the ship, he saw the tops of little heads bobbing about and voices speaking in a language he could barely understand. As all this happened, a ramp slipped down from the ship to the dock and the ship came to a complete stop. As this happened, Anwar took a step closer just as a small man stepped down.

"Welcome to the Republic of the Osphenians, sir. We are glad to receive you and we hope that our negotiations will be sucessful."

City of Kow

Lieutenant colonel Ali d'Amran stood on top of the gates, staring down at the monstrosities that are the Yuanti.

"Okay." He said under his breath. "Open the gates!"

After shouting the order, Ali walked down the stairs of the gates and greeted the first Yuanti he saw, who was obviously a female. Ali was terrified, but he maintained a straight face as he repeated his line

"Greetings Madame, I am Lieutenant colonel Ali d'Amran of the 32nd Company, and my men and I will be your escort to the capital for diplomatic talks. We hope that the journey will be pleasant for you, and that our talks will be fruitful. We will leave in thirty minutes, as my men are nearly ready to leave."

The Flaming Sword-Drunkenfist Disputed Border
Grandmaster Ethar sat atop his horse as he rode through the camp, the army was mustering along the border and Ethar already sent a few dragoons and light infantry forward for reconnaissance and so far the reports he was getting were slightly disturbing. The dwarves were trying to build fortifications, Ethar needed to destroy or by pass only one of them for his plan to come to fruition. He knew his army was much more mobile than the dwarves, consisting of the finest cavalry in all the world, but he also knew the dwarves had the finest infantry, his musketeers could very well be torn apart if a melee was started. Compared to what he has heard of the standard dwarf infantry his musketeers would be outmatched, but if they could outreach them that may work.

"No I can not experiment with tactics at the moment..."

At that moment a messenger rode up and delivered a letter, saluting he rode off without a word. Pocketing the letter the Grandmaster edged his horse to move forward back to camp where he was holding a War Council. The camp displayed the martial pride of the Forger Knights, sentries and field fortifications dotted the area approaching the camp and he knew that dragoons were patrolling even further out.

The War Council was being held in a large tent at the center of camp and when Grandmaster Ethar entered he was met with the sight of his brother commander, three Paladin-Lords and two War Fathers.

"No time to delay brothers it is time to plan what do you propose?"

"With respect Grandmaster we wish to defer to you at the moment, you have the most experience."

"Very well." Ethar said, a few seconds passed as he drew his thoughts together. "I propose we defeat the dwarves by their stomachs and not by the sword. Our cavalry will break through the enemy lines, meaning we must halt the construction of at least one fort. Once that happens the cavalry will pillage the countryside getting us provisions from the surrounding area while denying it to the enemy. Furthermore they will capture as many civilians as possible and release them to any city we are besieging to hasten the surrounding. We must outmaneuver the enemy and out think him, that is the only way to be truly victorious."

Silence held the room for awhile before the other men agreed to the plan and after another hour of detailing their plan of attack the Council session was ended with the officers setting off to do their duties. Ethar sat down at his desk in the tent and opened the letter the messenger gave him reading it over happily. Quickly he penned a response.

'It is with great pleasure to hear that we will have the support of the most illustrious Niflheim in our military endeavors and righteous claim to the disputed land. May the all-powerful Trivinity bless your rule and land. In exchange the Order of the Flaming Blade will stand beside Niflheim as a brother in arm.
Sincerely,
Grandmaster Ethar.'

Glauca was delighted at the news. "Camelone requests our aid, it shall be sent forth! I shall have Captain Zidane and Captain Squall lead the forces."

"Sounds good to me. Ardyn how goes the diplomacy with the bay area in southern Kolen?" Emperor Iedolas asked.

"Well, they have allowed for the Shinra Trading Company to start buy goods from them and selling goods from elsewhere back. I have also sent an envoy to Vahn to establish trading deals between our two nations." Ardyn said playing with his scarf and hat.

"Well, we have been expanding quickly, perhaps a breather is needed." The Emperor began, "Let's wait a bit before we expand further. Continue developing the Pole and rebuilding Treno. Foster trading and democracy in the South Bay area. Oh and don't forget your trip Ardyn."

With that the two went about their tasks, Glauca sent 500K Magitek infantry to Camelone via ship, along with artillery, 25 Man o Wars, 40 Galleons, 75 Frigates, and 20 corvettes. Along with a variety of other ships to carry supplies.
