Torsi, it doesn't matter if you take down things or keep them in place. It doesn't change how the words affected others.

I don't fault anyone over ideals. But if we embrace things, we need to consider the full repercussion those things have on the world outside our door.

A hypothetical: Asians are racists. I'm Asian. I don't like you because you're not Asian. I can't stand white people. My sig bears my support of racist Asian groups that target whites in Japan. I add some Japanese words to spice it up, let's say a mantra that translates into "Cleanse Japan Now!" You see this signature and realize where you stand with me. In this hypothetical, you begin to question what I really think of you as a person. You question whether or not I'm sincere when I express fondness for you. You take a chance and ask me to take my signature down. I do. A few months pass. I post a new edgy signature bespeaking my stance on whites. Am I sincere when I say I'm fond of you or am I sincere in my open support of a hate group that would harm you? Only one is the truth. Only one is the lie. Either way, I have lied to you.

Again, I reiterate, you have the right to embrace whatever you want. Others have the right to not socialize with you because of your views. This is fair. I won't kick anyone out unless they behave like petulant asshats, or attempt to blackmail, or go out of their way to violate the OSRS.

It's quite possible that their questions will help me improve Raiders, because I'm very rusty. So, please, ask away! (Or TG away, or TG the Co-OPs who will pass your questions on.)

Raiders has gone well, IMHO. You all planned the mission, and planned training before going on a quest. That's the right way to get shit done.

Can't think of any questions to sling at you. They'll come to me at 4 AM.

What are your characters' bathing rituals? What scents do they use, how do non-humans wash unique body parts, do they prefer showers or baths, towel or blow dry?

Nick's bathing rituals are precisely what any cat owner would expect; why improve on a good, instinctive thing? He tends to groom either first thing in the morning or after breakfast, a bit throughout the day, and when stressed or bored. Order varies, but he tends to start with the chest in the morning, paws otherwise, and end with butt and face in that order. If absolutely filthy to the point that he isn't comfortable licking, the cat will very grouchily shower under rain or in the communal kitchen sink to get rid of the gunk, shake himself, and lick thoroughly. Soap? What is this soap? Is it that stuff which hurts my eyes?

---

Rmwtyliin's bathing rituals tend to be focused on her hair; growing it out to waist length was her choice though influenced by fashion, and even before leaving Fvaarniimar she was largely responsible for keeping it sleek, clean, and in good condition. Had she not done so, she would have had it cut. Often, if she decides that she needs an elaborate style and is home, she'll bathe and then do it.

To start, Rmwtyliin puts any items not normally kept on the tub edge which she's planning to use, e.g. hair accessories, on the ledge. Next, she quickly lights a few candles, turns off the electric lighting above her mirror, and lights enough candles, lamps, etc to comfortably see by. Next, she draws a warm bath, climbing in, placing her cupped hands under the faucet, and using them to wet her scalp.

When there's a few inches of water in the tub (patterned porcelain, with a tiled ledge against the wall to sit on) she drops the rest of her hair into it. Twice the typical amount of a modern shampoo (she was skeptical at first but loved the results) is then squeezed over her head and massaged in until her hair is coated in a thick lather - if Rmwtyliin has plenty of time, she may amuse herself for a few minutes by using the floral scented foam as styling gel. She then places her head under the faucet to rinse off a portion of the foam, fills a bucket, and uses that to get the remainder. The rest of her body then is quickly soaped and scrubbed.

Next, she conditions - she's tried a few options and found that she likes a rich leave-in variety. It smells oily and a little coconutty. A shell comb distributes it through her hair, and then she adds several drops of flax/linseed oil and some water to an old conditioner bottle, shakes this thoroughly, squirts almost all onto her hair, and combs again. If the hair seems particularly unruly, she might repeat this oiling. Finally, she ducks her hands under the faucet to remove any lingering soap (aveeno expy, milk based, or plain castile soap), then she adjusts it to a small, steaming stream.

Doing her hair is a repetitive ritual and a constant in Rmwtyliin's life, but once it is clean, combed, and drying, the teenager actually relaxes, getting out of the tub, applying the remaining diluted oil to her hands, squeezing water out of her hair, and sitting on the ledge to enjoy the steam while she braids. A waterproof hair elastic or seventeen will have been left on said ledge upon entering; not uncommonly, a cup of tea is present also, off to the side. Depending on what she's doing, braiding - which may be combined with more elaborate styling - can take a few minutes to a few hours. If she's doing three-strand braids, she'll do at least two - the main reason for immediately braiding is to prevent tangling, along with the hair being more easily styled wet.

Sometimes she stays on the ledge after braiding, slowly sipping tea or even eating if she decided to bring food; sometimes, if it hasn't grown cold and there's no hurry, she puts her hair up with a comb or clip and slips back in to enjoy a bubble bath. If she's in a rush, she may do some simple task, but not often. This has been Rmwtyliin's "me time" since long before she was handling her hair on her own, and she treasures it. Typically, she lets her imagination run wild, or occasionally thinks of happy times.

Sorrow and grief and guilt have no place in this time; she feels her loved ones would understand. She may sing, too, but never anything she associates with such feelings; mournful songs were hummed at this time at home due to their beauty, but now she sticks to ones with cheerful lyrics, often in a major key. If she's still wet after this - for instance if she took a bubble bath - the girl dries off with an extremely fluffy oversized towel. This bath tends to either be very early in the morning - often combining it with breakfast, right before bed, or - if there's an event - early to mid-afternoon. It isn't necessarily a daily ritual - Rmwtyliin bathes when she feels she should, which is typically twice a week - but surprise occasions such as messy events or sudden meetings can result in multiple baths happening in a day. (Although, if it's just a mess and her hair is styled neatly, she may just use a washcloth and then dip herself to get rid of it.)

Henry bathes at least once a day in the afternoon or evening once done with everything and the day.
He has a ritual where before he gets in his shower, he takes his clothes off from the bottom up. So socks, pants, underwear, shirt. Afterwards he gets in at the back of the shower so that his hair doesn't get all messed up and wet so suddenly.
As for scents, he prefers things with either apples or oranges. Favorite being blueberry oranges with vanilla. And when bathing, he also washes from the bottom up from his feet to the top of his head (washes his hair only three times every two weeks) as well for some reason. After that he grabs a body wash cream that smooths and softens his skin (Orange-Vanilla scented of course) and rubs it in his skin before rising it off and turning off the shower.

Once finishing washing, he sits down on the toilet with thw lid closed without anything on and allows his body to um...air out...and dry off slightly before walking to the mirror and blow dries his hair and uses a gel that smells like apples to style it before walking out of his bathroom wearing nothing and goes to watch television allowing himself to air out until his body is completely dry.

He mostly prefers showers but will take a nice hot bubble bath with music playing in the background after a long day of working out. Preferably something soothing and mellow like soft R&B or Jazz instrumentals. Favorite bubble bath scent is a pear margarita type.

Ah, well, that tends to explain a lot of NSG's lacking OPs...

I can't imagine Amanda having a showering ritual. She's too driven to waste time lolling around in the bath tub: get in, get clean, get out. Her hair just takes care of itself with just regular washing. I should probably add that as a ½-point supernatural ability. :P

Wow, what a silly question, bathing rituals. Why would l describe that? I'd never have a reason to describe bathing rituals.

Katya? Simple. She turns on sone music, usually pop music, lays out bath salts, and gets in the shower, washes her hair, and scrubs, as well as using bath salts on her skin. Once her body is cleaned, she gets out, tidies up, airs out and brushes her hair, and, well...yeah...handwave the rest, she always comes out looking enviously good.

Makeup comes for when she actually is going outside, and perfume (usually vanilla.)

Boom. Simple.

Though needless to say, my experience IRL with bathing is mostly "get wet and use shampoo a bit" and I'm good.

We asked both Drova and Yuna "What are your characters' bathing rituals? What scents do they use, how do non-humans wash unique body parts, do they prefer showers or baths, towel or blow dry?"

Here's what the Royal twins had to share. :p

Drova: I wish I still had the bath we had at the palace. I used to be able to swim around and get clean underwater. Yuna hoards the tub in her bathroom now, so I'm stuck with the shower. Just a quick 10 minute shower for me. Lather up some soap, rinse myself clean, shampoo and conditioner for my hair, rinse myself clean. I avoid using products on my wings. It gets under the thick layer and doesn't get rinsed out. Then I'd have that icky slick feeling in my wings for the rest of the day. I just rinse my feathers with water, gets them clean enough.

Yuna: I'm trapped as a pony right now, and have more important things to worry about!

Buuuuuuuuuuut, back at the apartment, I like to soak myself in the tub for like, half an hour. Drova complains, but I find baths relaxing. After that, I turn on the shower for around 5 minutes and use conditioner and shampoo. I use special shampoo for my wings, and let them soak underwater the entire time to get it all out.
