I will never understand how an Independence movement in the USA thinks they will succeed. It'll be put down, with extreme prejudice. They are basically a polling tool, in which legislatures can take the data from them and vote and there is no real reason a legislature has to vote in favor of the referendum. Only request for stuff to be considered. In fact, even for supporters of succession, the very first step considering it would be passed is this;

A member of the California federal delegation to Washington would propose an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allowing the State of California to withdraw from the Union. The Amendment would have to be approved by 2/3 of the House of Representatives and 2/3 of the Senate. If the Amendment passed it would be sent to the fifty state legislatures to be considered (to satisfy the "consent of the states" requirement in Texas v. White). It would need to be accepted by at least 38 of the 50 state legislatures to be adopted.

So no. California succeeding is just never going to happen. And a majority of the Senate and House would never allow it. Especially with a state as big as California or such. It's just a wet dream. With so few supporters. Maybe 16,000 at most atm.

In theory, yes. However, that's just for the California constitution itself. For California to officially succeed from the Union, you need the approval of the United States Congress and 38 states of the union. Which just won't happen. In theory it's within the realm of possibility, but highly unlikely.

Well deal with Franku being normally insane and the Butter Party that we can't be rid of. Seriously, they're now terrorists and wear butter suits and EVERYTHING IS PUT ON BUTTER!
