If you have not been in one of my RPs before, or I don't know you, please provide an RP sample: As I make my way throughout the city of Detroit I decide that enough is enough and want to move on west. I see a thing of power armour and look around to see if anyone left it. I get no response so I take it apart and put it in my trailer. I then get into my car and take everything I need and want to keep and I head over to to the merchants and sell everything that I didn't need or want and got several thousand caps out of what I sold and got back into my car and headed off west stopping in several cities along the way such as the Minneapolis/St Paul areas and other large towns along the way. I stopped for a day in Denver and found a nicer looking hotel to stay at. I entered it and rented a room for the night and asked for recommendations for where to eat. Firstly, because we have decided that whilst we support his democratically-elected government we don't want to intervene directly and start fighting over there because we would be fighting our allies. So instead I chose to extract Assad who I presume would be otherwise killed.

Secondly you should ideally stay neutral because Pakistan is in the Commonwealth Union as well.

Your nation's recent history (if different from real life):

Late 20th Century 1980s-2000

1989 - The USSR collapses, slowly leading to Eastern Europe being liberated from socialist governments.
1990 - The Scandinavian region was slowly starting to gain a bit of paranoia from the Cold War over what might happen in the future.
1992 - Negotiations went underway for the formation of the Nordic Union of Scandinavia after fears of a 2nd Cold War and possible invasion or WMDs. Whichever one comes first. The nations involved were Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
1993 - The formation of the NUS has been revealed to the public and has been completed. Its member states include Norway, Finland, and Sweden, The Founding Member Nations in June 28th, 1993.
1994 - Rumors and reports from local Swedish and Finnish Polis report that apparent sightings of citizens dressed in butter suits and from eyewitnesses, reported them as being "brainwashed into believing the Butter Gods." We initially didn't know what they were talking about and the governments dismissed them as a weird thing.
1995 - The Butter Report from a year ago has gotten a new facelift. It is reported that citizens have been snatched and brainwashed by unknown people in military gear and butter suits, with a emblem showing a stick of butter in hand instead of a rifle. Polis raided one of these hideouts and arrested everyone inside. But they realized that this wasn't the end with numerous reports from Northern Norway to even in Stockholm of kidnappings and brainwashings only to come back soon and kick them in the ass...
1996 - The Butter Incident has all been leading up to this. The Butter Revolution had begun from a party calling themselves The Freedom Party for Abused Butter or just The Butter Freedom Party. They launched terrorist attacks and raids across the capital cities of Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki with 24 hours. The governments were able to fend them off but they went underground, possibly waiting for the next moment to strike and with a harder vengeance...
1997 - The NUS has now acknowledged video games as art and has allowed any piece of software like Doom or Carmageddon into their borders. It was also the year where they encouraged a lot of resources into artistic vision and concepts to be considered for the future of the nation with the Scandinavian Research Of The Future Event. The event took place in August from the 17th to the 31st.
1999-2000 - That year was the year of paranoia and uncertainty. When the NUS was worried about the world possibly ending, they were conducting evacuation drills regionwide and preparing doomsday shelters in case it were to ever occur when 2000 started on New Year's and they looked like a bunch of tinfoil wearing idiots when there was no doomsday.

21st Century

2000s-2017 (present day)

2001 - The September 11th Terror Attacks occurred in the United States. The Swedish Security Service was looking into the matter and how it occurred while the NUS had made a speech to the American people and its government and how they mourn the lives lost that day.
2002-2003 - This was the year that online gaming became apparent in the Swedish country and so, the Swedish Government officially made the 1st Annual Gaming Tournament League. The tournament lasted from November 1st to November 11th. This was also the year when Denmark and Iceland applied to join the NUS and were accepted in 2003.
2004 - A Norwegian Parliament member was apprehended in a police chase after he took a lot of cocaine and drank some whiskey before he pulled away from the bar and into the streets, causing a large amount of property damage and caused a dozen injuries and 2 fatalities. He is currently spending 26 years in prison in a nice cozy cell.
2005 - The year started off with a normal year except during April 18th, we had an armored robbery and a terrorist attack on a busy public plaza in Oslo. Over 74 were killed and 128 were injured during the Plaza Attack. Rumors say it connects to the Butter Freedom Party but other sources say it was the work of a mercenary group. Whatever the case may be, it was truly a sad day for everyone in the region. As a result, borders into Norway were temporarily shut down for a year and National Task Force units from Sweden were sent to help police the population.
2006 - The NUS was looking into the matter after the US invasion of Iraq led to the Middle East being destabilized initially to hellscape levels, the Norwegian and Finnish government sent a bit of peacekeeping troops to the Middle East to supply aid to the affected countries in the aftermath. The NUS had even sent over 28 Million Krona or USD to the region to divide up among the countries for the population but it was hijacked by a Georgian terrorist group and recovered by Swedish-Finnish Special Forces a few months later.
2008 - The Financial Crisis had monumentally fucked up the world into the biggest economic disaster since the Great Depression and Scandinavia wasn't excluded. The main region was in a bit of an uproar as scattered food shortages in the countryside combined with lost jobs made for some protests to occur in the region's capital cities. Combine that with a bit of a paranoid police force and with the police chief on a bit of marijuana that day and you had the NTF being sent to quell the protests ranging in a bit of devastating to bad fashion.
2009 - This was a year after the Financial Crisis and the nations were barely recovering when the Butter Party struck again during its time of crisis and seized the city of Helsinki and the surrounding area. But this time, they brought real military gear from tanks to actual gunships and helicopters. This inevitably led to the Finnish Siege of Helsinki at the end of the year to take back the city before they overwhelmed the Finnish forces and took the surround Southern and a bit of the Northern Lands and culminated into the Finnish Liberation War.
2010 - This was the start of Swedish-NUS operations in Western Finland when they began a mass blitzkrieg of the BFP's forces and were able to recapture Helsinki but the place was turned into a massacre before the BFP left though. Bodies strung the streets alongside burning buildings and vehicles, all just from a party devoted to fucking butter.
2011 - This was when the Finnish Liberation War was finally over and the Swedish-NUS forces were able to secure Finland back from the BFP but this time, they went into hiding again. What a surprise. And now, sources believe they may rise up again within 6 to 9 years and this time, the Nords took it with caution and decided to increase the defense budget that year.
2012 - Oh boy. Another time when the end of the world was gonna supposedly happen, only this time, they took the said time to try and build an anti asteroid railgun and failed. Also continuing evacuation drills also. So they switched to an anti missile defense system that would shoot down any asteroid fragments over the continent and when it didn't happen, they once again wasted the public taxpayer's money and their time into building a weapon that didn't work and a missile defense system for nothing. But hey. Least we have some defenses if a nuke is sent our way, even if it doesn't shoot it down.
2013 - Oh boy. The release of the PS4 was around the corner and the Finnish and Norwegians put up a contest which was at the 10th Anniversary Gaming Tournament League. The top three teams would receive a PS4 Launch Bundle alongside the Medal for Exceptional Esports Play. The event took place from November 19th to the 25th.
2016 - Looks like they decided to pour money into artistic vision yet again and to celebrate, they were lifting the ban on software containing excessive sexual content and gore, blah blah blah and they even gave away copies of Frontlines: The Buttery Revolution for the PS4 and PC. The Nordic Governments also gave their thanks for over 20 years of being united and standing together, even in the fuckton of crisis we had over the years and for giving your service to our countries. So, they even thanked and gave the Medal of Heroic Bravery and Service to hardened veterans who served in the Finnish Liberation War and the Butter Revolution. The Nordic Leaders even visited the ceremony and shook hands with the veterans while Franku decided to throw a party in their honor in Stockholm.
2017- And so we come to the present day. Well, nothing really significant actually happened to us yet so we will update this constantly when we have more shit to say. Bye.

That's not random... Ukraine was 50 millions when it seceeded, and its population drop is mostly due to economic crisis. Without the economic crisis, and with the preservation of the Soviet social and welfare system, Ukraine's pop would definitely be 55 millions.
