Also, I can harvest the stone from the stone outcropping that we still need for the workshop. That way I will have contributed more to it.

I also just got the "Out There" banner.

I suppose you could Innovate how to plant trees. At present though, it isn't part of the mechanics set, so it won't work out.

I'll edit it and have Barry and Harry bring acorns back to the village to plant once I innovate it, and have the 4 followers that I previously had collect acorns gather berries.

Just edited, please reread again :)

How many days can followers go without food for without becoming sick?

That's kind of silly. People can go without food for much longer than that. Therefore, I propose that a follower can go 1 day without food if they do not do any labor. What do you think, G-Tech?

Also, does the workshop have enough stone yet? If not, I would certainly harvest some to contribute more to the workshop.

A person without tools also can't fell a tree, or harvest a field of wheat, or quarry a good amount of stone, or make enough bricks to build a wall.

Our people get stuff done quickly, but the tradeoff is intense metabolic requirements.

Also I can't be bothered to track nutrition levels day to day.

You're right. But how did I harvest wood without tools, then? There is no mention of an axe anywhere in the workshop section of the rules. Would that be an innovation? How much does it cost to innovate something? In the rules it says you get 1 innovation per day, but I don't believe we've adhered to that.

1. G-Tech just said you CAN harvest wood without tools because you need wood to build a workshop.
2. Innovation prices are negotiated with G-Tech.
3. He means you can ask for 1 innovation to be implemented per day.
4. I'm making the stone tomorrow.

Because then we have a bootstrap problem :P

Ah, you had the same issue as Cres. Innovations (completed projects) are limited to a maximum of one per day. You still have to generate Innovation points themselves.

I said that followers climbed up the trees and broke off the branches, which solves the harvesting wood without an axe problem. An axe should be an innovation that lets you get more wood per tree.

Regardless, the first thing the workshop's making is some kind of stone tool innovation to get more labor per manpower. Only one person can work in the workshop at a time, so we need to maximize that one person's efficiency.

Also, I misjudged. The stone outcropping will be up in 2 days because I still need 1 day to get the aspect.

Certainly. Only excess food will gain you new recruits- gather only as much as you need, or store the food away from hungry mouths, and you should be fine.

Hey G, can we have some sort of sling thing that needs vines and a rock to work?

I will innovate vines, and the sling itself though.

Certainly. Vines might fall more under the "Wonder" category than Innovation, since they'll be a new growing resource added to the world, but I like the idea.
