Well, most of the symbols are straightforward. All the crossed boxes vaguely colored brown with brightly colored patches are dwellings of the various tribes- the bright colors indicate their owner. Beyond that there are springs and berry bushes in close proximity to villages, which look like green bushes with purple berries and, well, light blue pools of water. Then there are map location resources like trees (green blobs without berries) and wheat (lines of yellow and orange running diagonally on a field). That should cover just about everything.

What do you mean by resource spawning?

How do new trees and rock outcroppingss grow? If my village is too far way from them, can I not build anything? If the resources are exhausted, how do new ones appear and spread?

Ah, that's what Aspects are for. Things like vegetation spread slowly of their own accord, but most resources are spawned by the Divines themselves.

Personally, I'm trying to amass a ton of faith to get 10 stone. There are currently no stone outcroppings in the world, so it's a pretty high priority.

Do I start out with a water source? Also, how does labor work?

Everyone but G-Tech (who is surrounded by wheat fields) is starving, so I'm pushing to let newer players start with more food.

You do start with a water source. 1 labor is how much effort 1 man can put into a project in one day. You need a certain amount of labor put into every building to build it.

God Application
Name: Eru
Color: Something blue
Position on Map: On the eastern side of the easternmost forest.
Aspects: Self evident, beloved, and bones of the land.
Personality: Eru is immensely wise, and enjoys sharing his wisdom with others. Thus, when the Spark created humans, he sought to guide them with his insight.
Appearance: Eru sacrificed his physical form in exchange for vast knowledge. He is ever present in the minds of his followers, constantly speaking to them telepathically.

Can't you grow wheat, though? It should be easy. Also, what are some other good RP's that are happening currently?

God Application
Name: Semitri
Color: Whatever is left :p
Position on Map: Fourth Square Quadrant. Near the Southwest corner of the map.
Aspects: Beloved, Self-Evident, Maker
Personality: Among the frontier plains and the stories of nomad wanders, one can hear hear the whispers and see the signs. Low-grumbled curses and thankful roadside offerings -- both with an equal share of suppressed dread -- all in the name of Semitri, The Divine Shadow. A mystery of Mara, Semitiri is secretive and wild as the land she inhabits. Those who have encountered her say she is a god without absolutes; she is not a representative of good nor evil, but of how the primal world is.

Appearance: Her guise is that of a lanky young woman, her charcoal hair streaming over ashen bony shoulders, covered by a faded tribal fur coat that ends at two, road-worn bare feet. The top of her face is covered by a great hood, leaving only crooked smile and smooth, proud chin to see. This appearance is made all the more foreboding by its erratic, and ever shifting nature; like a reflection in a broken mirror.

I'd need a hoe to grow things, and I need a workshop to build a hoe.

Because workshops are super expensive but also super useful, I'm trying to unite with nearby tribes and build one workshop for everyone that contributed. If anyone's near me (pink), consider helping build the workshop.

No Stone Outcroppings are visible on the map at present, that is correct :P

To be fair, it's a trade off. You can start with easy building materials or somewhat easy food. There were plenty of other tribes that started near the wheatfields, but they've all as a rule of thumb gone in active or harvested their mature fields before they could continue growing.

Walrusvylon wrote:Can't you grow wheat, though? It should be easy. Also, what are some other good RP's that are happening currently?

Wheat is fairly easy to grow yes, but it is worth remembering that this is the literal dawn of civilization. Even concepts like agriculture are still poorly defined for the human population.

Well, it isn't open. IC threads that are "Open" by convention allow anyone to post in them, and that isn't the case. They are closed because only accepted participants from this OOC should post there.
