New England Confederation

New Norwalk
"Why does New York still refuse our offers at increasing diplomatic relations? The war ended decades ago and New England, including Long Island, has long given up our claims over the Hudson State. The war was fought by our grandparents, it's time to let bygones be bygones."
Grand Princess Katherine III was in the middle of a speech advocating increased relations with their neighboring nation-state, New York, when the doors to the room busted open and a frantic messenger ran in, bowing before her.
"Your Majesty, message from Rangers near Boston. They have discovered a new nation, the. Empire of Boston!"
This illicited a collective gasp from the room. Another nation, in a city they were sure had been flattened by nuclear weapons. The President and the Grand Princess swapped a few words back and forth before turning back to the messenger.
"Tell them that I, Grand Princess Katherine the Third of the Principality of Bridgeport, will be on a Vertibird within the hour. I will, however, need to know where to land it."
The messenger bowed, and left the room.

Bridgeport, Vertibird Launch Area
A gleaming Vertibird, with the flag of Bridgeport painted on either side, and a blue stripe across the sides. Kept in pristine condition, almost looking pre-war. The Grand Princess hurried across the platform, fighting against the wind from the blades. Sitting in between the two gunners, she shouted to the pilot.
"Mark Spectacle Island on your map! That's where we'll be landing!"
The pilot nodded, marking it down as the place to land. As he took off, their escort arrived: two of the Confederation's fighters. Since a Vertibird, in theory, flew as fast as a jet, the fighters only had to slightly decrease their speed to keep pace.
Several hours later, the Vertibird and it's escorts zoomed over a slightly shocked Bostonian populace, intentionally flying low. When the Vertibird began it's descent over Spectacle Island, the fighters peeled off and turned around, flying home. Grand Princess Katherine III stepped off the Vertibird, greeting the nearby Minuteman.
"Hail! I am Grand Princess Katherine the Third of the Principality of Bridgeport, Councilwoman and Member of the New England Confederation. I was told to land here to meet with your Emperor."

A top a hill, to the north of Fort Drum
The New England Wasteland
The American Wasteland

Ranger Thomas used the zoom feature on his Riot Helmet to spy on Fort Drum. In search for more pre-war technology, a party of 20 Rangers had been dispatched to find Fort Drum. The Fort had been mentioned in multiple reports found within the database of West Point, one of which mentioned a large shipment of Rifles and Energy Weapons, along with some pre-war artillery.

5 of the 20 now lay upon a hill north of the Fort. From its walls, men in pre-war uniforms walked the walls, energy weapons in hand. A few had a strange, almost alien looking armor....

Thomas swept the Fort, his eyes landing on a flag strung up on a flag pole. It was the pre-war US Flag. There were stories of a secretive organization that owned all sorts of bases throughout the US. If this was them, then they wouldn't give up the supplies in that Fort Easy....

The Presidential Apartment
On top of the only standing building left in Time Square
Time Square
New York City
New York State
The Republic of New York

President Jethro Kendi looked down on the bustling city that stood on Manhattan Island. Down below was Time Square, the heart of the city, where thousands moved around the large market square. To the sides stood the entrances to the Metro's, where the majority of NYC's population lived. The Metro was a vast and winding series of tunnels, in which the people had built homes. The tracks carried small trains, built by Vault 311 Engineers, and passengers got on and off at Stations. Stations were the cities of the Metro, at each station you would be greeted with shops for everything you could ever need. Past the stations, rows of houses are built into the walls of the tunnel. Polis Rangers keep the peace down there, they patrol the Metro, and each train has two rangers on it.

Kendi sat back down at his desk, looking over a report sent back by scouts sent out. Apparently a citystate built in Boston was discovered, interesting....

As he mulled over this report, his Aid, John Swift, entered the room bringing news from Albany.

John Swift: Sir, news from Albany. A group of men who claim to be from "Canada" have come to Albany.

Jethro Kendi: Hmm. Prep the vertibird, well leave immediately!

Delphia Factories
City of Delphia
State of Delphia
The Republic of New York

After a raid on a US Military Base in the North, Polis Rangers returned with blueprints for a old Canadian Weapon. It was called a "STEN", it was capable of high rates of fire, yet according to the blueprints it require minimal resources and machinery to produce. It was a godsend, a simple machine gun that could be produced cheaply and in bulk. A couple of the Delphia Factories were retooled to produce the new guns, which were named New York STEN's.

Mass Production was in gear, and soon these new guns would be mass distributed to the Army.

Route 87, The Adirondackian Mountaineer

Captian Sirso watched as his twenty men took their best guns and rifles from the armory, and began walking down Route 87. They had nothing faster than walking over land, although the Mountaineers wanted to have the beginning of the Hudson River, their council decided to not conquer it, disappointingly.

He picked 15 of his best men, and 5 greens so that he wasn't taking too many good men from the Adriondacks.

His party would get to the rumored great empires of the South in three days traveling down Route 87, they were bringing no diplomat except Sirso, and he hoped it would be enough.

He hoped the Mountaineers could find an ally.
Opinions on politics: In light of the failure of two parties, there either should be none, or multiple major ones

Opinion on Government: Should be run by Mirthocracy (ask me about it sometime)

Ashton
Rattlesnake SOU Military HQ
New Columbia

Matthias Warwick, President of New Columbia

The elevator slipped closed and Matthias' sight was filled with the blinding dark. For a few seconds he stood waiting for the elevator to begin moving down, the only sounds coming from his two bodyguards heavy breathing. Finally the two small, red lights light up above them and illuminated the room, if only a bit.

The elevator made its way down deep below. It seemed to go on and on. Ever inch down the air became more and more stale as the ventilation systems recycled the air down here. A safeguard implemented before the world ended in case of a gas attack. The elevator groaned with age as it stopped. It made Matthias sick being down here. He never liked it.

The doors slid opened and his bodyguards walked out before him, their heavy footfalls making a resounding clik-clak as they walked. Matthias followed shortly afterwards.

Here they were, the hole. Where some of the most egregious criminals of Columbia were found. High security. Turrets lined the halls. Top notch pre-war stuff. Face identification and gait recognition systems made it nearly impossible to leave. And of someone did manage to make it past that they would have to make it through the Rattlesnake HQ above. A tough task indeed.

But Matthias didn't care for anyone around him. It was what was dead ahead that was of concern. Martin Retslaf. A pre-war ghoulified general. One of many men who were instrumental to the rise of this nation. And one who nearly brought it to its knees. He tries, and failed to lead a couple against the glorious nation he lead now.

No one knew that the president came down here except the two bodyguards that were with him. And they wouldn't dare tell anyone. Both were from Reno. Both had families to feed. And both owed large sums to the Bishop family. It was by his grace that they were even alive now. And they both knew well that grace could easily be taken.

Hello Martin, it's been a long time...

President Matthias Warwick stepped out of the Rattlesnake HQ. He looked to the skies above him. A storm was brewing. Good. It wouldn't be so damn hot as usual. He adjusted his tie with his hand and climbed into his APC. One of a kind, fusion powered prototype. No way to make another one. But the one he did have served well as a way to move about unabated.

Inside one of his numerous personal aides waited for him. A new hire if he remembered correctly. Didn't remember her name but that much didn't matter now did it?.

I need a message sent to Lt. General Hsu at Camp McCarron. You have paper right? Good. Write this down word for word and have it sent over immediately. Highest encryption with my name on it.

Just Outside New Vegas
Camp McCarron
New Columbia

Captain Harkness, Commander of New Columbia Rattlesnakes, 3rd Battalion

Jack watched from the observation tower as the new sqaud of recruits from Vault 34 ran the course they had setup outside the terminal. These kids were hardcore. The best of 34's vault security and it showed. Physically fit to the extreme and no slack with firearms. They would make a great addition to his battalion. It still pained them to think of his men that had been lost in the expedition into the raider territories of East Vegas. They were damn fine men, and heroes all of them. They stayed back so the slaves they rescued from the Slashers could get away. All confirmed KIA. These new recruits had big shoes to fill.

From the corner of his of his eye he saw a soldier from the army running up to the tower. Headed his way up the ramp and to Jack. A runner from Hsu from the patch on his uniform. And Jack could tell why he was a runner now. A Slasher had got ahold of him. The cut across his trachea was obvious. The man was lucky he was alive and Jack doubted he could speak.

The runner gave Jack a folded letter and saluted him before running back towards the terminal. Jack pulled out his knife and tore open the letter quickly skimming over it and digesting it's contents. This was strange, very strange, but the order came from the president himself. Jack reached over to the intercom and pressed the switch on it.

Trainings cut short today boys. 3rd Battalion form up around the tower.

The men below scrambled at his command moving into marching formation below him, at the ready.

At ease men. Order from high up, and I mean high up. Straight from our president to Hsu himself. I am to take two sqauds of my Rattlesnakes and we are to accompany three sqauds of Columbian army to the dam. Yes, you heard me correct, the dam. I am to lead this little party and I am at my discretion to pick and chose my men to take. I will be taking the 34 boys and Able Sqaud. You two need to gear up and get ready. We leave at zero hundred hours tonight. This rest of you are to rest and recuperate for the expedition into East Vegas tomorrow. Snakes, dismissed.

Jack watched for a few moments as the two chosen squads scrambled to the barracks to gear up and get ready while the rest of his men broke off into groups and started their way to either the bar or the rec room. He then made his way down the ramp and off to collect his command sqaud and get ready for tonight's mission.

The Town of Troy

Captain Sirso watched Troy get larger into view, he wished that he had more men in case this new Southern Empire was going to attack them, his twenty men were only armed with hunting rifles and old assault rifles from before the war.

He watched the entrance get bigger and bigger his group of men stopped about twenty feet out when he saw a soldier like guy standing by the town.

He called "We are representatives from the Adirondackian Mountaineers, and have come to make contact with our fellow nations down South, where are we? Who are you?"

Ranger Andy, the Polis Ranger in charge of protecting the border town of Troy, looked down the street at a mass of 30 men. They wore civilian clothes, and carried what looked to be salvage rifles. Andy stood there, his eyes covered by the Riot Gear Helmet he wore, as he looked to the sides at his Polis Rangers which were hidden in some ruined houses.
He didn't carry his normal Springfield Rifle, only his Magnum BFR.

Ranger Andy: Thats one hell of a name, but if i know my geography you're a hell of a ways from home. Your in Troy, Northmost town on the east border of the Republic of New York. I, am Ranger Andy, a member of the Polis Ranger. That bridge you just crossed is where the Hudson splits in two.

Captain Sirso stopped and took stock of his surroundings before he answered, there were multiple other ranger people hiding in some hidden houses, and probably more that he couldn't spot, he was glad he could shoot so well.

He thought about his answer for a moment "A Republic? Thats an interesting choice of government. So this is Troy, my map I had was vague and old, I am Captain Sirso, what are Polis Rangers? Anyway, can we come in? I don't wanna stand outside all day with you guys pointing your guns at me."

Ranger Andy: Alright. Follow me.

Andy turned on his heel, started walking down the road towards town. The actual town of Troy was a small settlement built in the center of the Old-World town of the same name. Andy had his barracks in the old Town Hall.

There were small palisades built up on the roads. The rest of the town was encircled by rubble, which gave them enough protection. At the small palisades, the towns garrison of 50 NYRA Troopers stared at the strange men from the North.

They stood there in their Uniforms, which kept out the Spring Chill that was left over from Winter.

As the band entered town, people from the market that was built in the center of town looked in awe.

Andy led the men to his Barracks. When inside, he spoke

Ranger Andy: I'd kindly ask you leave your Rifles on the counter here in the Armory. Keep your sidearms.

Andy sat down in a pre-war leather chair

Ranger Andy: To answer your earlier question, a Polis Ranger is a member of a elite scout unit within the New York Military. We scout ahead of the Army, and also keep the peace and enforce law within the Republic's Territory.

Captain Sirso walked in with the ranger, looking at the defenses of Troy, it sort of reminded him of the defenses back at old Elizabethtown, but maybe not, there seemed more rubble here, and less planned out than the defenses at Elizabethtown.

Sirso looked at the Ranger when he told them to put down their guns, but complied, putting down his rifle, and his men following afterwards. He then made sure his pistol was loaded and within grabbing reach.

Sirso replied to the Ranger "And how big is this grand Republic of New York? Seems insane to hold to need a unit to both enforce peace and scout, just me though, keep on"

Andy went over to a shelf and pulled out a small book, almost the size of a handbook. The cover read "Polis Ranger Survival Guide". He opened it to the back page, displaying a map of New York and its neighbors.

Sirso looked over the map, just then seeing how large the distances of the Southern Empires were, and memorizing the map as soon as he could.

He looked back at the ranger "Well, thats one of the reasons we came here for, you see, us Mountaineers are rather isolated. We wanted to know more about our neighbors, and make a map of the places beyond where we know. To chart it and bring it back to our council."

Ranger Andy: We did the same back in the infancy of our Republic. See here, below the Republic in a lighter blue, thats the land of the Order of the Burning Eagle. They're a, strange group. They wont let outsiders into their territory, but from what we gather they operate some sort of militaristic order. The Green is Ronto, a Republic of Canadians centered around the old world city of Toronto. The red is New England, which is a confederacy of multiple nations, and here in very light yellow is The Boston Empire, a citystate with very advanced technology. Now, you can't see it on this map, but to the far far north, past Maine, is The Dominion of Canada, the survivors of the pre-war Canadian Government.

Andy laid the book down on the table. And pointed to a tiny dot drawn on the map

Ranger Andy: Now this is something you won't find on any map, but some scouts came back reporting that a Pre-War Military Fort is currently occupied by some fella's with some very advanced hardware, strange power armor that you can't find in any records, and they fly the pre-war flag above the fort. We've heard whispers of them from Traders, say they've been spotted in other places like Airforce Bases and Arsenals. I'd stay clear of it.

Andy looked at the men.

Ranger Andy: Say, what is this "Council" yer talkin about.

New Vegas Countryside
Just Outside the Dam
New Columbia

Jack Harkness, Commander of Rattlesnakes 3rd Battalion

Jack looked down at the watch. It was 1:00am. They were supposed to meet at the rendezvous thirty minutes ago, yet the regulars were nowhere to be found. Jack was getting close to leaving when he heard the faint sound of marching. It got closer and closer until the front door to the house opened and the Lieutenant from the regulars entered. He snapped off a salute to Harkness and walked over to the table where the map lay.

Sorry we're late. Ran into a pack of cazzadors on the way here and had to double back around. Nasty things almost came after us.

Jack didn't care really. He had wasted enough time already and he wanted to get this mission over with.

I assume you went over the mission details? Lots of robots apparently. Old defense systems left over from pre-war. That's why the dam has been a no go until now. You will be coming in from the south east and up to the entrance to the dams visitor center. We will be up in the hills to the west of the dam providing cover and fire support until you make it inside. After that we will move in with you. Radio silence will be maintained, just in case. We will give you the signal to move in when we setup. We are moving out now. I suggest you move out in ten.

Jack pushed past the Lieutenant and what he presumed was his own command sqaud and went outside where his men wait. Wordlessly they fell in behind him and started their trek north up into the hills.

In the cold hours of the night the Rattlesnakes stalked along the trails, leading to Hoover Dam, like predatory beasts. The night vision built into their helmets guiding their way to the target. They were to provide cover from the hills above the dam for the regulars who were to try and make their way in. The letter they recieved said to expect heavy resistance from robots. Apparently the intel was gathered from some previous scouting mission but Jack never heard about it. Didn't matter anyway, they were here now.

They climbed up the steep hillsides and began to setup above. The sqauds had both been provided with AP rounds and EMP grenades to help take out the robots. Jack watched as a MMG was setup over looking over down onto the entrance to the dam. Unnatural lights illuminated the area, it seemed that the dam still had power after all these years. This forced him to turn off his night vision as the light blinded him and he expected most of his men had done the same.

As he looked around he didn't see much. No movement or anything. Didn't look like there were a bunch of robots either. Maybe they shutdown after dark? He didn't know but he'd have to keep a sharp eye out. Down further along the hills the other squad setup their own weapons and got ready to fire. One soldier, after they were ready, pulled a high power laser pointer out and used it to signal the troops in.

Jack watched as they marched down towards the sandbags. Something didn't feel right. He tightened his grip around his rifle and got ready to fire.

Senior Ranger Anthony: Not at all Ma'am. I was just enlightening this good gentleman with a brief history of our grand Republic. But, we have very exact business here.

Anthony produced a map of The North East from inside his Duster.

Senior Ranger Anthony: Now if you look here, in Blue you can see our Territory. But, more importantly, is this here. Buffalo. Rightful territory of New York, in the hands of a nation called Ronto. Buffalo is home to large pre-war Factories, but more importantly, it has the Robert Moses Niagara Hydroelectric Dam. This dam is the largest on the East Coast, larger than Hoover Dam over in the west. It can provide power to near all of New York, some to Boston too if we can set up a cable that long.

Anthony stepped back from the map, which was now splayed out on the table.

Senior Ranger Anthony: We're looking for Allies to take this on. In return for your assistance with us, you'll be entering in a Alliance with us. From what i see your military is highly advance, but quite small. Allying with us means having the protection of a Army near 25,000 Strong, not to mention the abundance of Pre-War Military Bases with plenty Pre-War Tech left in it, like Trenton or West Point. In return for this protection, we'd start trade between our two nations and we'd request you send some troops to assist us against Ronto. Judging by the size of your military, i'd say small elite scout groups would be your principal contribution.

" Before I begin, let me clear somethings up between ourselves."
Hewes grabbed a map of the Empire from her dress suit and put it on the table next to the map of the New York Republic.

" Now, you claim that Boston is a city-state with your map. However, if you see this orange, our borders are quite larger than that. We have lands the span across towards Worcester and a colony in Far Harbor. Now we have just recently annexed Worcester and are going through the motions of integration. Far Harbor is different. Its a island colony off of Maine and they give us our large source of lumber. It will explain how we have such a major construction and restoration company. "

She turns to him and positions her glasses as she continued.

" Now, you're still not wrong about having a small, but highly advance military. While a lot of conscript defensive Minutemen have assault rifles and hunting rifles, we do have elite groups. These elite groups have laser weaponry and has access to power armor training. Only noting that these are mostly salvaged T-45s that were supposed to fight pre-war. However, we do have special professionals who have access to the few T-51s that we are able to maintain.

If we are to join this alliance, then we want access to any pre-war blueprints that we may come across. We also want the power to direct to Worcester instead of Boston. The city itself is actually using some of the power from a Mass fusion plant and various other sources, such as some solar energy plants. Worcester doesn't have that way in power sources and having some access to the Dam will jumpstart the city's economy.

As for trade, we will accept the terms. The Empire has more than a few companies that are willing to put their stake on going to the east. This also seems to be good since their are countries with more than 5 times our size.

Also, we will like to set up a naval base in Atlantic City if we are to join this alliance. Just to be able to have a reason to expand our naval projection. "

The Minutemen were in training for nearby wargames but they pointed to a place that where a steamboat was coming. The smoke was something that a normal citizen wouldn't see everyday. The steamboat came close to port and off-loaded two sets of soldiers in T-51b power armor. They had the flag of the Empire on the breastplate underneath the valve and were armed with either energy or plasma weapons.

They each made a single file line as one spoke through his helmet.

" Aten Hut! Emperor coming through."

Man of them stood as statues with their weapons shouldered. A manslowly walked off the boat with a doctor. He had a scar that went up to his eye and two on the top parts of his hands. He walked slow as if he had a leg injury. He walked through the soldiers until he saw the end.

" You must be the Princess Katherine of Bridgeport. My name is Luther Hightower, Emperor of Boston and the nation as a whole. You is good to make your acquaintance." He said extending his head to her.

Senior Ranger Anthony: We'll send the power to Worchester, but we'd need your help. See, the plant is on the Niagara river, quite a long ways from here. Now, we can use our own power lines to get it about as far as Albany NY. But, from there we'd need your help to set up a way to get it to Worchester. Also, we have many pre-war blueprints to offer.

Anthony picked up his Springfield rifle that he'd left on the floor.

Senior Ranger Anthony: This is a Springfield 1903A3. More Specifically, its a experimental model that has a detachable magazine. Its produced in accordance to a Blueprints we found at a large military cache in Trenton. We recovered many more from the military academy at West Point. Blueprints for many other guns, and a couple for T-45 and T-51 Power Armor. Although, i'm afraid their too advanced to produce for us, they do come in handy during Repairs. Also, we could most definitely allow you use of Great Lanta's Port.

Anthony looked to the diplomat

Senior Ranger Anthony: I, as a official envoy of the NYR, find these suitable. Later on they can sort out a treaty, but shall i say that today marks the dawn of a Alliance?

"That really depends, now I'll probably have to send people back to the Mountaineers to tell them about you, and then plan a trip to those other nations, plus I'd like to see more of your country if you don't mind. I've been given permission to open diplomatic relations with anyone we find."

Sunset Sarsaparilla Headquarters, Mojave Wasteland
"Doesn't this belong to New Columbia?" whispered one of the recruits from Neo Fransisco, the leader of the group, Samantha Hicks from Vault 53, the crunch of her power armour stopping as they came to the front door. "Well technically yes, but do you see any soldiers from New Columbia?" "Well no, bu-" "No buts soldier, do you not want a glass of ice cold Sunset Sarsaparilla? Do you not want our people to have it?" she shoved the doors open, holding her SMG comfortably in one hand. A cry of "HOWDY PARTNER!" was met with a flurry of SMG fire, from the power armoured woman in front of the group, 'Festus' still operational with several new bullets lodged in him. The group ignored the mad robot as they made their way through the facility. the woman in front leveling the security robots with well aimed bursts from her tommy gun, the sheer bulk of her power armour leaving her able to fire it accurately with just one arm. The scurrying soldiers behind her were never put in any danger, nor had to fire their weapons, overall it was always a good thing to be assigned to help a person from Vault 53. She smashed through the doors to the room she had been looking for, the factory floor of the building "Here we go boys! Get this equipment loaded into crates, and we can load it up into the Brahman carts afterward. When we get these machines back to Santo Rosa we will all be rich enough to retire from the army." the four soldiers with her nodded to each other as they were given tools and directed to the bolts on the vast machines used to brew and bottle Sunset Sarsaparilla. Samantha herself headed for the secrets of their computer system, to find the secret formula they would need to brew their own. She grabbed an old bottle still intact on the counter top, popping the cap off on her armour. She took a sip of the old soda and grinned, Nuka Cola sales would plummet when they introduced this fine drink.

Hoover Dam
"Rattlesnakes." Yolanda all but spat as she gazed through the scope of her rifle, her eyes refocusing as she watched them with a keen sense of night vision once known only to machines. Her fellow Scout Trooper and two other Vault 42 Snipers. One had his anti materiel rifle set out, ready to blow the head clean off of any soldier who he was given the kill order for. The four understood, if a shot was to be taken, there would be no going back, the whole team would have to be taken out. The one next to him held a more typical hunting rifle, enough penetration to blow through the armoured joints but little more than that in the younger woman's hands. The other Scout Trooper held a rifle loaded like Yolanda's with AP rounds, each bullet precious and only to be used when it would kill its target. Unlike Yolanda though, he stood fully upright in Hei Gui Armour, nothing but a shimmer in the night. The others had stealthboys, but were not to use them unless absolutely needed, they had hand made cammo cloaks draped over them, and were spaced out enough that their fire wouldn't be visible immediately, and the golden 42s on their backs were covered up by the cloaks. They had been given the orders to observe the dam, but if there was shooting, they were to insure one side or the other was wiped out, then offer the hand of friendship from Vault 42, and the UPVT. It was all up to Yolanda and her compatriot, until the order was given they were to merely watch, watch and learn.

He ordered three of his privates to return back to Lake Placid, and looked back at the Ranger.

Sirso nodded, and spoke to the three Mountaineers going back to Lake Placid, then watched them walk out. He looked to the remaining 17 men, and at their supplies.

"Yeah, we'll camp in the square tonight, retrieve our rifles, and ve out of your hair by tomorrow."

He took the rest of his men to the square and watched as they began setting up in a military square, watched as they quickly made portable cover in the event that the rangers turned on them
