President Kendi: Hmph. Well Ma'am, you see here in the Republic of New York we have something called "Freedom of Speech and Press", something Washingtons never heard of. We don't censor the news, and we make sure actions of the Republic are known to all, so you can be sure our nation knows of this Treaty, question is, would yours?
Elizabeth sighed, loosening her posture. Grabbing a gold laced pen from one the pockets in her uniform.
"With an friendly attitude like yours, i hope you understand that we will not have the highest trust in the strength of this agreement."
She moved to sign the document, her signature elaborate and expressive. she gathered her copy and took a few steps back. I assume i can let myself out, mister president?
President Kendi: Yes. Oh, i'm afraid the elevators have malfunctioned, so you'll have to take the stairs, 20 flights. Good day madam, i must get back to running the Beacon of Democracy in the Wastes...
Kendi opened a side door of the room, showing briefly the oval office of the President of New York, a oak desk with the New York Crest on the floor and a semi-circular window behind the desk, white drapes covering them.
Kendi closed the door, and sat down at the desk. He hated this, he hated how these new nations appeared, and seemed to claim that Democracy was weak, that the only way to protect your people was to control them. New York was living proof that a nation in the Wasteland and protect both its citizens Lives and Freedoms. Washington was going to be a problem, they'd now know of New York's stance, and having two large ideologically different nations sharing a border was not a recipe for peace.
Good thing he set up those Commando's, they'd be mighty useful....
