Unless the Empire turns out they want to bolster Tatooine's defenses, your fleet might either kill my character in trying to take Tatooine, or my character can escape on an escape pod and go down to Tatooine where he is promptly caught by CIS invasion forces, and decides to side with them and then...something after that.

Now that I think of it, just RPing from the perspective of my character seems a bit limiting. Is it alright if I use a number of lower ranked people (an advisor and maybe a few commanders) to represent actions later on?

Are you aware that the Count Dooku in question is not in fact Darth Tyranus, but his successor? Because I can see how that would be confusing and I should probably stop calling my character Count Dooku (even though that is his name).

The Hutt part depends on that person's agreement.

But orbital bombardment can be pretty useful, especially for destroying buildings which Separatists or Rebels might be using as a base on a planet. Or I could deploy bombers to conduct bombing runs. If orbital bombardment isn't canon, then I'm sure bombing runs still are.

Any CIS characters that would support Dooku's bid for Head of State, or even Rebel ones? Odds are he'd support a temporary alliance against the Empire.

I'm sure the Jedi Remnants would be vehemently against him, due to his connection to the Dark Side. Nabhak is very much in favour of peace with the CIS, but only on the condition that Jedi be allowed in their territory to search for Force-sensitive children and any Dark Side Adepts are either imprisoned or extradited to the Jedi.
