Short Bio: Ivan's family goes way back to the Frozen lands of Russia and Ukraine, at some point in the 1960's (pre conquest) his family defected to the United States and unable to find work his great great great grandfather ended up joining a local Russian mob. You might be surprised if i told you that this mob happened to be the Sokolov family. Working with the Sokolov's would become common for members of the Kovalchuk family, even after the conquest. It was with the Sokolov's that his family had found so much power and strength. Ivan's father happened to be a popular enforcer in the mob, his mother was a simple maid of Ukrainian descent (and it's rumored, Jewish descent as well). Ivan's childhood was not normal however, he developed close attachments with his two brothers and even came to seek a friendship with the Sokolov leaders son Aleksandr. Whether or not he succeeded is up for debate. What isn't however is that Ivan would go on to look up to Aleksandr for much of his life.

Ivan's powers became known to him and his family when he was fourteen after he accidentally set his brothers bed on fire. Rather than facing a severe punishment however this discovery was happily praised by his family. He remained one of the few members of his family who could actually use powers. Sadly good times weren't meant to last, the Sokolov families aggressiveness had found them a few too many enemies and before long war broke out. His family, his real family were all killed. Ivan would have been included among the dead if he hadn't managed to escape the men sent to kill him. Mind you this was near the beginning of the war and it wasn't long after that he became highly dedicated to the Sokolov family, taking life as easily as it had been taken from those close to him. Seven years after the death of his family the Sokolovs were forced to make peace with the other families, and it was this event that caused Ivan to desert them (for the most part). He felt betrayed by the Sokolov's, he felt as though his family had died for nothing. Aleksandr whom he used to look up to had become a hated rival, and yet he wasn't entirely hated. Initially Ivan had contemplated taking Aleksandrs life, or at least attempting to. This never came to fruition though, as he knew he couldn't pull the trigger. His feelings are conflicted, he still does odd jobs for the Mob every now and then in order to survive, but for the most part he's lying in wait and trying to survive on the harsh streets.

Personality: Ivan used to be much brighter and happier than he is now, mostly because he had family to share his adventures with. Since they died and the Sokolov's made peace with the other families however he is colder. He's hot headed and angry, driven by a need for revenge. He is sympathetic towards Aleksandr for the moment, and is conflicted about him. He's a little suicidal too, if things go against him anyways. Deep down he wants to rekindle his relations with the Sokolov's and desires to rejoin the mob fully.
Likes: Meat, particularly steak. He also enjoys booze and girls.
Dislikes: Tomato's and pasta. Also dying, dying is probably not good for his health.
