Most likely, mexico is a fucking huge country and with fallout style things added in it makes it much more harder. Now i realized owning all of mexico would increase my manpower pool massively.

Where are you on the map?

Probably Texline then, it's on the border and probably a nice little trading town.

Also, OP, is it possible for people to use telegrams in the IC?

I assume that there would be something along the 87, and it's a more direct route to Texas, so it'd take less time to walk there.

Oh shit, your right, the 87 goes right to Texas...

No, way too much territory in Kansas. More territory towards Sioux City. A bit larger in Colorado then I meant but not that big of a deal.

Faction/Nation Name: The Saddledogs

Faction/Nation Territory: The area under the Saddledogs’ direct control runs barely beyond the eastern rubble-rings of Tallahassee, west towards Jacksonville and south of the outskirts of Old Lando; which men once called ‘Orlando’.

Capital City/Faction HQ: Jacksonville; otherwise known as ‘Jackson’.

Population: How many souls the Saddledogs can gather to their flag tends to vary depending on who you ask. Some grin and say a thousand-thousand; while more sober heads might claim a couple hundred. Truth probably lies somewhere in between.

Government: To outsiders, the Saddledogs day-to-day government is apparently ruled by the will of a single, iron-fisted matriarch. Men are not eligible to rule the Saddledogs; although they may find favor as advisors. In the Year of Our Lord 2241, the reigning matriarch is Monique ‘Mow’ Curry; a boxy, black woman whose tiger-yellow eyes have seen four-and-thirty years come and go to the Florida wastes. She and her closest advisors set the tithes, remember the laws and decide when the tribe should migrate. Of course, that’s hardly the whole truth of it. Monique governs, to be sure – but her writ to do so is decided by a popular vote. After all; if a warlord fails to bring the Saddledogs good fortune three years running, it is clear the ancestors are tired of her – in which case she is quietly sacrificed to the big blue sky. And even she, Warlord of the Saddledogs, can’t do much about it. Tradition is strong in the Florida wastes.

Thus, amongst the Saddledogs, power – real power – rests with the Council of Crones.

“How does a Saddledog run? Slowly,” goes a stale joke in the Florida wastes. There is a glimmer of truth at its core, however – because the Saddledogs seldom decide on truly important affairs without building a consensus first. This usually takes place at so-called ‘Big Talks’, where the Council gets to gab, gloat and gossip while their kinsmen roam and rave beyond the confines of their sprawling tent camp. All in all, these are riotous affairs as loud, lewd and lovely as anything you ever saw. They are held in Jackson every now and again - in the crumbling concrete shell of the old Sea Best Stadium - and the eldest matriarchs of all the Saddledogs fifty founding families can all have a say. Which they tend to. Loudly.

Leaders: (Work in progress.)

National/Group Ideology: The goals of the Saddledogs are, in all honesty, to just get by – maintaining their position on top of the status quo in the Florida wastes.

Military: (Detail every single detail about your military. What are they armed with, how are they trained, what are they trained in, what equipment do they use, bases, what is their military doctrine, etc. If it's military related, it should be here.)

Major Towns or Locations: Old Lando, Tallahassee, Tampa Beach, Miami. (Work in progress.)

History: (How did your nation or group come to be?)

Just to warn you. The Everglades are going to be a cesspool of radiation and mutants, and your probably going to have a massive Chem and drug trade along with high levels of crime. Cause, you know, Florida already has a massive drug trade, high lives of crime, and a cesspool of radiation in the Everglades in the modern day...

I don't know about that, Traans.

It wouldn't be too hard to make the case that the entire territory of the former United States is a cesspool of radiation and malarking mutants these days. Really, it'd be stranger if Florida and her beloved Everglades wasn't touched in some significant sense. And I'm not entirely on board with your claim about a 'massive' chem and drug trade either.

Florida's pre-war drug trade was, and is, kept alive by the demanding noses and discerning palates of a wealthy American middle class - a class of people with both a demand for dope and the money to pay for it. That class isn't really there anymore in the day and age of our own IC; nor has it been for neigh on two centuries. The criminal cartels, networks and dope factories that supplied them are no doubt equally scarce.

That's not to say that Florida and my Saddledogs aren't facing its share of malignant, mutated miscreants, of course. After all, this is Florida we're talking about. Close your eyes and imagine it for a dim, delirious second. Its dark, irradiated outback is riven with mutated mysticism - like the child-preachers haunting its broken highways in service to that vile, semi-Christian heresy, the Word of John, or ghoul-cultists from the Church of Atom. And that's just around the Everglades! Up north, camps of so-called 'abhumans' fleeing pyre and persecution in the Colombian Republic mingle with runaway slaves, 'gator prophets and snake oil merchants from the rubble-rings of Tallahassee and even the odd feather-capped tradesman claiming to be from that fabled isle beyond the cannibal-ridden Florida Banks - Cuba. No, faced with the usual bevvy of skinners, road-agents, brindled men and child-shamans, I doubt a few merchants peddling a hit or three of California jet is going to make that big a difference. Florida and the northern part of the American continent may still exist; but I'm rather dubious about its pre-war realities.
