Certainly. My wish isn't to sound harsh, and I more than certain that Void will have no problems with it, but I am a little stricter on the military due to my bad experiences in other roleplays.

Now that I am up and about, I can work on my app's problems
Depression kind of goes along with not being liked, especially when you ask for help, and don't get it. Remember that, okay? There are people who need someone, even if in a small way. Don't avoid them because of a misunderstanding, them having a bad day, and definitely not because everyone else does it. Even if it's just a fifteen minute conversation about nothing, it might help.

I don't have anything special about my army, so they're well-equipped and disciplined... Perhaps I should edit that. Any suggestions?

Well equipped and disciplined is pretty generic, especially if you don't have a historical tradition to base it upon. The Roman legionnaires have discipline as one of their strengths, but that because it was one of their historical strenghts.

Perhaps you could have your troops be really experienced at fighting in the desert, and have them be good as irregular warfare.

Oh, you said reliance. Yeah, I don't do that. I have versatile troops, and have things to play around with, but I couldn't really think of anything else for my strengths other than well-disciplined and well-funded. It's unfortunate, but while I canbe creative, I just can't seem to think of ways to make my army more unique.

Something xultur mayve? I'm at a loss.

Perhaps I have troops experienced in two or three climates? I draw troops from every ethnicity, so is that possible?

I do like the idea of a capacity for irregular combat. I shall edit.

After all, with those three possible anti-government revolutions, on top of the fact I'm a rather small nation compared to some others population wise... I feel like it's a good compromise that my army/navy remain strong but have seemingly nominal weaknesses.

While they may not seem like enough to you, they are enough; when you combine them with my nation's other built-in weaknesses and the likes, it is entirely fair and balances out.

My personal opinion remains that those wouldn't count as actual weaknesses. But whatever, if you consider them to be enough, and the others also then I won't press this issue any further. I would still though like for those weaknesses of your country to be visible in the military, perhaps by pagan and/or communist influences into the military. And the other two weaknesses you mentioned should be reformulated since they don't make much sense like that.

I'll try to make them make more sense, and I did indeed to have some various political opinions divide the military slightly, as well as have that be one of many major issues facing Italia.

I'm hoping to at least get to the point in the RP wherein Empress Antonia Valentina is a thing before I move on to possibly do a coup/revolution or what-have-you, though. I figure with Emperor Quintus III and some form of "stable" existence, those issues will be major but won't tear Italia apart. Suddenly, when Antonia is Empress, things become a shitshow because she's incompetent in some form or another.

Wait, my military is highly professional. That wouldn't work. I mean, we could use some of the tactics, but I don't really have irregular officers.

No, it's fine to have it in your app. Just don't rely on it when it comes to any actual combat RP.

In my decade+ of RPing on this site, there seems to me to be a couple of general styles:

One is very technical, which works well for modern tech, and is generally [this many of this class of equipment, with this ammunition/ordnance, this location, distance, target, et cetera]. Numbers and real world specs tend to be the primary determination of strength. Even then, this isn't a perfect system and still needs players to employ some kind of strategy.

Another style, which becomes more prevalent as the tech regresses, is to take equipment and numbers as a general framework of strength and relying much more on strategy and tactics, with much more room for clever shenanigans.

A third style is something like a third-person omniscient narrative - almost like a news report. For combat RP, this approach is very limited in it's usefulness.

Well, considering that the Eastern Emperor is himself pretty young and has taken power pretty recently, he will probably support Antonia if she becomes Empress. The Roman society especially won't have a big problem with it since it was ruled by Empresses in the past. And luckily for my Emperor, his transition was and will be pretty stable. It was expected, and the Roman state itself is built on a strict balance.

Certainly. But I see your troops working more like the bedouins did against the Ottomans, as an example. Not that good at regular warfare, but knowing their surroundings and being really good at irregular and guerrila warfare.

I want senpai to teach me. I've always been horrible with strategies or tactics. Even in strategy games, I end up avoiding everyone else, slowly building up a massive military, and then turning every entry point into my country intk a choke point. It's repetitive, but not always effective, and I would like to be more effective.

Yeah. Emperor Quintus III was the youngest Emperor to take power in Italian history [relative to the Italian Empire]. Antonia will be the first Empress in a long time, and the first Empress who also happened to be the first child (as, traditionally, it was always the first son who'd be named heir). Antonia is also the eldest of three children, a son (Antonius Quintus IV; aged 13) and another daughter (Maria Valentina; aged 11).

I feel as though the Emperor of Eastern Rome won't be able to help but to see a golden opportunity to take Italia when it becomes destabilized at some point after Antonia's reign begins.

For my Emperor, it's nothing out of the ordinary, he was the first purple born prince. Normal succession laws, and he was a Caesar for a few years before the death of his father.

Difficult to say. The Romans would certainly see it as an opportunity, but if Antonia manages to convince Julius and the Roman Senate for an alliance, the Romans aren't the kind to break their promises and alliances.
