The Romans know how to adapt. They take things from foreigners and make them more glorious than they were.
And the Greek Fire has nothing to do with the Persians.
But Provincia Armenia is Provincia Armenia.

Yeah, my NS nation is complicated. Not enough is known about the Thracians for me to actually use them, so my nation is mostly Romanian.
And the flag is using the Vergina Sun because it's the symbol of the polytheistic pagan religion I created for this natioj
But Rome's glory lives on

I dare say the Thracians are actually relatively well-understood. Of all the Paleobalkan peoples, they're perhaps the most well researched with the largest corpus of surviving writings. We know that they were famed for their peltasts, in comparison to other tribes who tended to favor bows. They drank wine, rather than beer, and were noted for their cavalry. They decorated themselves with tattoos, permanent, rather than the simple war paint of many other European tribes. A summary of mythology can be seen at the wikipedia page for paleobalkan mythology, although the Thracians shared a religion with the Dacians.
Even names can be assumed accurate, as generally speaking the Greeks and Romans were surprisingly good at rendering European barbarian names which were often structurally and phonetically similar to their own, though groups like the Scythians break this rule do to being Iranic.

Yes, but unfortunately not well enough for me to turn them into a modern nation.

History :
The Colonisation Era (1570-1785)
In 1570, shortly following the end of the War of the Roses, the defeated Yorkists fled from England, soon to be Cambria, and set sail for the New World, and founded the Kingdom of New England, but really functioned as an independent nation. Francis Drake, the founder of the colony, was coronated King Francis I. Shortly after, he named his heir James of Scotland, who also fled from England in his youth.
King Francis I began an age of expansion and settling. The kingdom prospered at the time, and all was good. However, in 1614, the Cambrians came up to New England. They tried to annex the Kingdom peacefully as a colony, but that wouldn't work. So, a short war began. After the Cambrians defeated the New English humiliatingly at the Battle of the Chesapeake, they were forced to submit. In the Treaty of New London, at the time the capitol of New England, James I would finish his reign, and then the Cambrians would annex New England as a colony.
James I died in 1625, and Cambrians moved in to occupy the region. However, the First Revolt was started. It lasted for two years, until 1627. The Cambrians responded harshly, by burning all of the New English cities down, including New London. These cities were replaced by cities like Boston and New York.
The New English felt like they were oppressed, even with the Freedom of Religion Act passed in 1629. However, fearing the harsh repricussions, they never did - until 1775. Then, the Atlantean Confederation declared independence. New England quickly followed suit, aiding their "Southern Brethren". They finally gained independence in 1785.
The Era of Freedom (1785-present day)
With their independence, the delegates of New England quickly convened to write a constitution. They took inspiration from the Roman Republic, and modeled their government after that.
The presidents were very successful. They managed to completely eliminate any Native Americans from their territory, pushing them west, and New England became the first country to abolish slavery, in 1821.
However, in the election of 1829, everything changed. The people supported a conservative, isolationist government. This government placed put them behind in industrialization for many years. This government absolutely dominated New England until the election of 1865. A new, more liberal government was put into place. In 5 years, this government has completely industrialized the nation. One of the most important projects was the Grand Canal, which connected New York City to Lake Erie.
Now, the new government is trying its best to build up it's world status, and become a big player on the world's stage.
