I have two shirts that are about 3X large; meanwhile I'm a medium/large. Its been nearly 3 years since I've got these shirts and just now am I putting one of them on.
I feel like I'm wearing a literal dress right now.
But its comfortable I'll say that much; so it makes for a nice sleeping shirt.

Okay, with Rhom back I feel like I really have no excuse for being so inactive. That and finally finishing up a second play through of Dragon Age Inquisition.
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

Charli...we can't do the ritual of Katelyn just disappears into thin air.

Furthermore, Ruta can't find her if she's just gone.

Also, how does she know how to just disappear into fire? You said specifically Fire is not her main element, and that she has trouble controlling it, which caused the fire at her school. So how does she know how to use fire to teleport without any problems?

I thought it was obvious, but I guess not. Remember her little demon friend? That's how. Her behavior isn't the only thing being affected. (Plus, if you'll remember my little flashback-ish post from earlier, she's the one who did the whole 'Hey, let's kill everyone with fire' thing in the first place. Katelyn just thinks it was her own fault.)

I'm not going to make this easy for you. That would defeat the purpose. Besides, what's the point of magic battles if you can just go 'Oh look I have a gun now'? There's no point at all, and it's boring. Same with the whole 'seal her up in her room et cetera et cetera et cetera' thing. It's boring, it's too simple, and on top of that, it would be out-of-character to just have her be an obedient little student. She's got the power to rebel, and she's rebelling.

Not making things easy is fine, but you're making this almost impossible. We can't do anything until we know Katelyn has returned, and if she's disappeared in a cloud of fire then we have no idea where she is. If she was to simply run to the edge of the island and to threaten to jump, that would be more manageable. Furthermore, John does not normally use the gun, he was holding it as a threat because he was worried she was going to follow through. It's something he has on hand in case his magic does not work. And he was not going to kill her, he was going to shoot her kneecaps so she could not run away. Big difference.

If anything, now, Katelyn is going to have to deal with the two new Jaegars on the island, who are not friendly. One of them is slash-happy. So either this becomes easier for her or she winds-up severely hurt.

Well, playing slightly-psychotic 'villains'(Katelyn not being villainous, but of course her little friend is very much so) is fun.

That was the point, Lumi. The point is that the characters are now unable to do anything. There's a rogue, possessed mage running loose, and there's nothing anyone can do except wait and hope that they're ready for when she makes her move.

Can you imagine how scary it would be to be in that position? They don't know where she is, they don't know when she's going to come back and try to attack again, they're completely out of their depth. Normally they have the chance to make plans and such before they attack, normally they have that advantage--but now they don't. Now she's the one with the first move. And isn't that so much more interesting?
