Self-sufficiency requires annexation - and exploitation of foreign nations in almost all cases. It's the reason why WW2 occurred.

Venezia here has a point, you don't exactly have the capacity to be completely self sufficient, and he's also very right about WW2.

Couldn't play poland because some guy called "Intermarium" war there when I joined. I naturally chose the worst country I could as to try and have a little fun in seizing power in my region. Which I've almost completely done.

The Janissaries were built up by Martinez a long time ago - 15 years to be exact, before WW3. They were too young to be used, but now they have come of age and they are of a fairly decent size for a modern army, and serve as a royal guard for Prahomija. My second or first to last post also told of re-recruitment, prioritising and reaping the benefits of revanchism from those who'd want to avenge those whose family members died in WW3 to the northerners.
