With the former Emperor ousted and the now currently halted civil war between the Imperialist Congo and the Democratic Congo the power struggle within, several factions rose to prominence, the United Congolese Army (made up of the former Congolese army under the leadership of Kusa Chansa), Free Congo Movement (left wing militia), Martyrs of the Congo (right wing nationalism group), and the Congo liberation front (centrist militia mostly aligned with the UCA). Kusa Chansa was after being voted in (after intimidation, skirmishes, and assassinations by other groups) by the leaders of the faction which formed a parliament (which is dominated by UCA-CLF coalition. Kusa Chansa continues to preach for a united Congo and hopes that those in the Imperialist government will support them and the people of the Congo will rise up in their name.
