BEST of P2TM 2016 AWARDS

Looking through my bookmarks, I realise that I haven't done a whole lot in P2TM this year; and, consequently, I don't know a whole lot of what's been going on. That said, I decided I'd throw in a few nominations for a couple of people (and their RPs) whom I think deserve recognition for the work of theirs that I'm aware of. I don't feel informed enough to offer any more than that, unfortunately; I'm sure a lot of great stuff has been done in 2016! In any case, there it is.

Alrighty, I'll start tallying and setting up the vote process tonight and tomorrow. I might have some questions regarding nominations so please check back here or answer TG to help clarify things.

Edit: also, please do NOT make changes to your nomination forms.

Slowly getting there. It doesn't help that people had to add extra nominations to their nominations. If the person was nominated elsewhere, I'm only counting the one that wasn't (gives us a greater pool to vote upon).

We should be good to go this weekend for the Voting.

Waiting for clarification:

• Ericssen to narrow picks for Funniest RP'er down to just one: The Land of Golden Blobfish or The Irish County of the Beare-Mor or The Last Abode of Pando.
  
  
• Deramen created a new category (which we'll add next year perhaps): RPG. The nominated RP is The Call To Protagonism. This will fit under other categories. TG sent to OP (Galactic) to request category clarification.
  
  
• "After the End" looks to be a nation-based RP. TG sent to OP requesting clarification. EDIT: Imperial Idaho has clarified that "After the End" is a Nation RP. *bangs head on table* It was also only nominated after the "joke" posts poured in, and not a single one of them has a free "nation RP" category open.

That's Life:

• We had several people using the "Misc RP" category to nominate RP that belonged in genre category. (In other words, two nominations for the same genre, using the Misc category.) If Misc RP could be clearly listed under another genre category, and that category was filled already, the nomination for Misc was dropped. See above in the case of "After the End".
• If people did not use the nomination form - a requirement stated in the OP and clarified in the thread - their nominations were not recorded. It didn't make any difference. Most were captured in the Pub copypasta later on
  
• The Pub copypasta was pretty much thrown out IF it was exactly the same as the others. We only need one nomination for something per category.

A reminder that Altito requested that Peacekeepers be moved to the War category. (viewtopic.php?p=30846645#p30846645)

A reminder that New Grestin asked to be removed from all nominations excluding horror/thriller. (viewtopic.php?p=30846635#p30846635) However, this player's work was fairly nominated for "Favorite Worldbuilding RP" prior to the "joke". This nomination was kept in place. Please note that I could not find a single nomination form nominating him for Best Horror/Thriller RPer prior to and after the joke nominations. This is what's held up the contest. I'm going to take the matter up with the P2TM Mentor team as New Grestin did ask to be removed from all but horror/thriller.

We will begin voting once the New Grestin matter is resolved.

I would really, really, really like to have all three nominees included, and let the judges decide who is funniest. All three are worthy, and I thought they were all on the same level.

I have been instructed that my idea for 3 votes for Funniest RPer won't work... So, without any disrespect to the other two I nominated...

I nominate the Last Abode of Pando.

3rd - The Last Abode of Pando - New to RPs this year, Pando has shown a definite flair for the creative, unconventional side of humor. His character(s) are two Siamese twins, both with super powers and an alien spork at the same time. The one twin can animate origami (but is kind of limited to paper airplanes and a few other things); and the other twin can do any super power known to man, as long as he's not consciously aware of it. Once he becomes consciously aware of it, he loses that ability..
Another character of his is the dreaded villain Florida Man, the minor crime lord of the RP. Basically, the humor here is that with every post, Pando checks out online news articles where a "Florida Man" was arrested, in trouble, hit by a car, etc., and according to Pando, this guy is all of those guys in the news put together. And, if this particular Florida Man retires or dies, the title and prestige gets passed on to a new person (like the Dread Pirate Roberts of Princess Bride fame). See Pando's character here

Just browsed through this thread, surprised to see myself and an RP of mine nominated, especially since I haven't been all that active the past few months. Very honored, thanks for the nominations!

I noticed that a roleplay of mine is in the Misc section. Return of Saturn was to be a drama enhanced with various factors from different genres.
