DAY ONE - MAIN ENTRANCE - 2:30 PM
The sun shined brightly above Starlight Academy as hordes of students arrived at the school. Each one of them had come here to learn, and to duel, something that Professor Drew Roswell was hoping they would succeed in equally well. The Professor adjusted his glasses as he watched each student disembark from the ferry and walk on the island that contained the Academy building. Their ages ranged from ten to early twenties, and each of them carried a Duel disk and a bag of books.
Well... Almost all of them.
Drew's eyes were drawn to a young man with brown hair and a tan hoodie, with earbuds in his ears. His Duel Disk looked worn out (a clear sign that it had been used well), and he was only holding a single textbook. He would have to get a new Duel Disk from the school when his finally broke down... Which wouldn't be long from now by the looks of things. As for his textbooks... Well he would have to get more from the school as well.
"Checking up on the students are we Drew?" A voice asked him from behind. Drew turned to look at his fellow professor David Frederick approaching him, using his left hand to hold the lense of his glasses as he normally did. "I suppose that there are no trouble-makers?" David inquired as he stopped in front of Drew. "None that I can see for now." Drew replied. David nodded, glancing at the boy with the hoodie as he passed near them. "Look at that one there. The state of his Disk is deplorable! And it's an older model so I doubt it even has Pendulum Zones! Surely he could have gotten another one?" He asked, annoyance written all over his face.
Drew smirked at his fellow professor. "Does it really matter? If he's not playing a Pendulum deck I don't think that he would he need Pendulum zones. I think you're just annoyed because his Disk doesn't match up with the rest of the school's." He noted. David frowned slightly, his look now turning to Drew. "And why shouldn't I be? This school has a certain level of formality after all. It shocks me that he even made it in with that Disk."
David looked at the boy again, noticing the shining gleam of a Sliver badge reflecting the sun. "And as a Silver rank too! I swear our standards are getting lower every year!" He complained, earning a soft chuckle from Drew. "Well he probably earned that badge, so I wouldn't judge this book by it's Dule Disk if I were you." Drew said, earning a sigh from David. The younger professor then walked off while saying over his shoulder "Let's hope you're right!"
Drew smiled and continued to observe each student departing the ferry.
He had a good feeling about this year.
