Scythe Name: Justinian (Usually just referred to as 'Justin')
Scythe Type: Familiar
Scythe Appearance: Raven
Magic: Although Valeria possesses knowledge of the existence of Magic, it is merely academic and she has no current magical prowess, although the subject does interest her greatly.
Background
Education: (Which one of Hunter's Woods educational establishments is your character attending. Refer to the Welcome To Hunter's Woods section for more details if you aren't sure.)
Relevant Experience: It was definitely a much different life than those of her peers, being the daughter of a hunter of the church. For so long, she had been set on following the footsteps of good ol' dad. He was everything she aspired to be, and he always made time for her when he could. Always teaching her morality, the sacred duty that Hunters have in defending humanity from the beats that lurk in the darkness. She longed for the day she could join her father on his hunts, and when they could become a duo to be reckoned with.
Of course not everything is so simple. The news came abruptly when two Hunters that her father had introduced her to arrived to deliver the news that would shatter her heart forever. Her father had been killed during his hunt. Valeria refused to believe that. Dad was the strongest most dependable Hunter she knew, there was no way some simple beast could overcome him. Whereas Valeria demanded answers, the Church provided none. The details of the Hunt for a non-member were classified. No exceptions were made for familial ties it seemed. To make matters worse, the Clergy had decided it was time for Valeria to begin her official training to become a Hunter. The Hunter-in-training could only take the mixed pity and glares for so long. Some saw her as desperate to make her late father proud, others saw someone too stricken by grief to be of use on Hunts. Regardless, Valeria threw herself into her studies.
Her devotion to her material and training were not for the reasons one would think. She researched as much about her father as she could in the archives and information she had access to. She knew her father was strong, what could possibly have bested him? Valeria studied all forms of beast and magical constructs, but without accurate information on her fathers manner of death, she was merely speculating. The secrecy was driving her slowly mad, and though Valeria was becoming a fairly decent scholar, she refused to sit back and let this case rest. Doing something she knew her father would disapprove of extremely, she decided to abandon the order in the middle of the night, packing lightly, but enough for travel. That was three years ago, and she has yet to willingly interact with the order since. Sometimes she wonders if the order even realized she was gone, what with how she didn't possess any dangerous knowledge, at least as far as she knew.
Since then, she settled down in Hunters Woods as she tries her best to keep an ear out for anything that might ever be related to her father. Valeria was nineteen now, and her various ventures to places where her father had previously been have amounted to nothing. Despite this, she hasn't given up, and always returns to Hunters Woods to recoup after a lengthy outing. Currently, she finds her fathers savings enough to live off of, but she knows it won't last forever, nothing a part-time job around town can't fix.
Personal Strengths and Weaknesses: Although she possesses a strong will and determined personality, she can sometimes have a one-track mind in search of her goal. All other situations cease to matter, and it can become easy to anger her if someone was to get in the way of her search. Despite this, she isn't particularly eager to throw her life away, not while her fathers killer is surely still at large. Valeria is also rather well taught on the subject of various Monsters that plague the human world, and skillfully manages to avoid them as she now lacks the protection of the church.
Goals: For years now, Valeria has put the church behind her in an effort to track down her Fathers killer on her own. While no closer than she was with the Church on her side, this hasn't deterred her any bit. If any, this has only managed to fuel her obsession for vengeance, but she hides it well enough. She acknowledges she cannot die until she finishes the Hunt she started, and the only hunt she'll ever see through as far as she's concerned. Once this is done, she is unsure what she'll do, but Valeria will burn that bridge when she gets to it.

The kid brother of Mitchell Blair, Robert mostly remained in the background of his family scene. Unlike his brother, he was more academically gifted, something his father and brother gave him trouble as he possessed little to none of the combative abilities of his brother, and even though he a year younger than his brother, he had yet to reach the height and physical stature of his brother. Which isn't helped by the fact that he suffers from Vitamin D Deficiency to the point where his body outright rejects any and all forms of Vitamin D.
While Mitchell and Robert don't get along from time to time, the two show an unnatural knack for working together and at times, pulling off the biggest pranks Hunter's Woods has seen. But where his passions really lie are in the weird and occult. Robert founded the Western District Paranormal Society and has been doing a lot of research into the past of Hunter's Mill, which is helped by his volunteer time at the Town Library. He would also go hiking in the surrounding woods, when he wasn't running from the other people who went to Western.
He felt he had a rather normal life, but when his brother got a part time job, his world changed. He felt at uneasy around his brother, and when he tried to tell his parents about it, they dismissed it as an overactive imagination and told him to grow up. He began to drift further and further apart from Mitchell, and became desperate to prove that there wasn't something right about his brother.
Personal Strengths and Weaknesses: He cannot process vitamin D and so his bones are weaker than that of his brothers, he also has a limp from when he broke his leg as a child, he has an IQ that approaches 175, and can mentally process math equations, riddles, and sees patterns faster than any human

Magic: Renee has a small amount of knowledge about magic, of which may not be entirely correct (hahaha no it's just Dungeons and Dragons). Although her magic is weak as of now, it will eventually grow stronger with practice.
Background
Education: TBA
Relevant Experience: The woman named Renee Reyer was born on April 20th, 1995. Renee’s parents were two kind parents, whom were named Alicia Armstrong and Richard Reyer. Although Renee’s family was by no means wealthy, they still could afford a comfortable two-story house and a swimming pool. They had lived a pleasant life overall. Renee went to elementary school, and later in her life, attended middle school. You know, like most other kids with an average income? For the most part, your elementary and middle school life was eventful, and many things happened while she attended. She was notorious for being a troublemaker. Renee often played pranks on the school bullies, and frequently got detentions. For whatever reason, the detentions never deterred her, but she still played the pranks more discretely. When she looked back on herself many years later, she would sometimes say it was rather embarassing. Pranks were not the only things that Renee did in school, and despite the fact that she spends much of her time setting up traps, Renee has surprisingly good grades.
While Renee attended elementary school and middle school, she had five best friends, who often went on risky escapades with her: Jacob, Rose, Ivan, Chara, and Alexander. Renee adored swim races with them, and often went over to play video games with Chara and Alexander, whom were quieter and more reclusive then their other friends. Renee often had sleepovers at Jacob or Ivan’s house. They ate spaghetti, they sneaked out food from the fridge at midnight, they watched television, and they played DnD. While it lasted, it was very fun. They texted to each other constantly even if it’s 1 AM. They splurged on Cheetos together. They were essentially the epitome of best friends. Sadly, before they could all get to high school, Renee had to move to San Jose for a job her father had been accepted to. Renee and her friends felt extremely sad, but still managed to keep touch with them through texts, calls, and social media. Even though the previous grade schools were chaotic, it was high school were everything started. Bullies were rampant, and they constantly picked on you for your nerdishness. She hated it, to say the least, but at least she got a passing grade and a couple of talk-buddies (not really friends). It was a very painful four years.
Now, Renee was seventeen. She did what every other highschooler did; tutor some newbies, maybe go get a job, savor freedom, and plan for college later.
After three years, Renee finally racked up enough money to go get herself an apartment and then go to college. Renee, being the procrastinating-prone person she is, barely made it with the COMPASS tests so that she could get into the undergraduate class. Predictably, college life was exhausting, just like every other school life that Renee had. It was repetitive and unpredictable at the same time. By this point, Renee was much less rude and obnoxious. Renee knew that if she acted the same way in college, it was game over for her. Her whole career and life and everything would be messed up. For a long time, Renee was that bookish kid who constantly studied for tests and those annoying surprise quizzes people get all the time. Renee often just got Bs, just like every other school year. It was almost devastating for her, really. Renee strived for perfection, and her study time often crowded out the time for family. Even though she got many As, Renee still felt plenty of regret. Was it really worth pushing her friends and family out so that you could get only a small percentage higher on exams? Was it really worth being an asshole all those school years? Enough is enough. She’s going to fix her own life whether she likes it or not.
Renee got a bachelor’s degree. She drove to her friends’ house for a reunion of sorts. Later, Renee got a boyfriend while drunk. In a period of six months, she broke up, cried, and then went to become a waitress and a cashier. Then, because she needed more rent money, she decided to get a job here.
Personal Strengths and Weaknesses: Renee is an optimistic, friendly, supporting, and cheerful person who always tries to see the best in people. Being the kind and helpful person she is, Renee can sometimes be a gullible person. She is sensitive yet a person who always directly states her opinion. Despite her childish demeanor, Renee is observant, intelligent (possesses an IQ of 150), reliable, and trustworthy. Do note that observant behavior and academic intelligence do not constitute a wonderful social life and non-gullibility. Renee is clingy. When she feels that her friends will be taken away by others, she will become a jealous, envious, and rude person.
Goals: Renee wishes to get a Master’s Degree in Economics, create her own popular PC game, and perhaps work as a programmer.

Relevant experience : Silvia's ability to work well with others is usually crippled by her inability to socially interact in a positive manner with many people, as she often looks down on others, especially those she considers weaker. Her attitude isn't without cause, as she has previous experience with reaping, and not all who she worked with got to see the end of their employment in a pleasant manner. Scythe Name: Verlen
Scythe Type: Striker
Scythe Appearance: Can be split into two for a dual wielding saber and dagger
Magic: Pyromancy and Hemomancy (can only use spilled blood)
Background
Education: (Which one of Hunter's Woods educational establishments is your character attending. Refer to the Welcome To Hunter's Woods section for more details if you aren't sure.)
Relevant Experience: Sigmund is the youngest child in a family with four children. His family is quite doing well on the financial side, his father being a lawyer and his mother a journalist. Despite being the beloved baby of the family, his parents are more focused on his older siblings, namely the eldest, due to the three being in college or in high school. He grew up being overshadowed by the three, only being appreciated by his third sibling and brother.
Yet one would wonder, that isn't enough to turn a child into a delinquent, right? Perhaps not. You see, Sigmund looks up to his mother. Her mother is a journalist who is brave enough to cover stories that the newspeople prefer not to talk about. That resulted to her own undoing when she covered a story about a certain governor who's entangled with a messy web of corruption. The said politician was imprisoned yet his influence wasn't. Weeks after his imprisonment, Sigmund's mother was found dead and, according to the autopsy, was tortured before dying alone. Sigmund was in his early highschool years that time and it visibly shook him. His father tried to push for this case as another weapon against the governor yet the governor left the cold shackles of imprisonment, free from the accusations of the public.
Sigmund started to fall away from his studies and into the grasps of bad influences. A group of no-good students accepted him and provided him comfort, comfort between souls of misery and scars. His relationship with his family soured, until he found himself renting an apartment to get away from them. Perhaps it's for the best. Perhaps it was the unknown forces of the universe's way of helping him execute his goal and desire.
Personal Strengths and Weaknesses: Sigmund is pretty strong as the numerous skirmishes that he experienced with his other delinquent friends turned him into a veteran of pragmatic combat. He still has a passion for learning, especially when it comes to social sciences. He is, however, quite temperamental and gets into fights easily. He is usually rude, which is usually the reason why he can't get jobs, yet after some time his rudeness comes off as a facade of his own soft and weak self.
He is also vulnerable if ever his glasses were removed, only being able to see within close distances.
Goals: He wants to be a lawyer like his father so that he can avenge the death of his mother.

Theme Song: Let Me Hear
RP example: Awww Sin, you remember me right?
One: Who are you again?
Two: I see you caught my references. Although I prefer Reiterpallasch myself.
Three: Magic, even though it's stronger and boosts a Reaper's combat performance highly, is not their primary means of offense, so I'll play it safe and just limit it to one magic type per character.Luminesa wrote:Questions!:
1.) Can a Reaper secretly be a Monster and nobody knows it?
2.) How many characters can we have?
3.) Can we play as Vatican characters or are those NPCs?
1. No.
2. I'll just play it safe and say two at max.
3. No, you can't, and yes, those are NPCs. You cannot be a Hunter of The Church AND a Soul Reaper at the same time. Not even undercover Hunters would do that. Contact with demons are considered blasphemy and heresy of the highest order towards the teachings of Catholic Church, since it goes against the very teachings itself. Not even Pope Francis would sanction that shit. So no active Church Hunter would want to be a Soul Reaper.
Key word here being "active".

Looking good so far. Remember I said that your character can't possess any knowledge of magic just yet, but you can target a kind of magic that your character would want to use.
Okay. One, it's Hunter's WOODS. Two, how would he become an inhabitant of Hunter's Woods if he's the little brother of the guy who lived at Sunset Gates? Three, this is Mitchell's polar opposite isn't it?
A scythe can only have one form. Only Hunters of The Church's trick weapons can have two forms.
Paper talismans? You're mixing snipers with shrine maidens?
Not saying I mind, though.

I don't mean both, just one or the other. But okay. Don't worry, I am aware of what's blasphemous in the Church. I just wanted to know if my character could JUST a Hunter of the Church. But I see now. Aight.

It's a blanket term for a Reaper's weapon, I think. Plus the form of a scythe is said to be reflection of ourselves. Or something.
Renee: "As cute as this thing is, it's a shitty weapon."
Renee: "And if this shitty weapon is supposed to be a reflection of me, then I'm a cute-looking but useless person."
Renee: "Well, that sucks. At least I'm cute."

Also... one question.
How come everyone else can use a specific magic type like hemomancy and pyromancy even though we're just supposed to recite some shortened incantations derived from a book? I thought we were similar to wizards in that we can use almost any sort of magic, minus stuff that is "too powerful" or exclusively for some other species.
