Yes. That is exactly what I was on about. What is the point of living in a world without the Holmes stories? WHAT IS THE POINT?!

I loved that series when I was younger too. Will Stanton youngest of the Old Ones... Great story and story telling... Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time was also fun, even though I didn't read all of them.

What all should go in the portion where we do the IC bit of where they were?

I ask as i want to include a little backstory, but would that go in the notes bit or what?

From what I know, and from what I did, you should probably put backstory that doesn't occur during the fight in the notes portion where you talk about what your character is doing now, or whatever they call it.

I don't think a 13 year old of any gender will try anything like that. Especially a spindly, heavily nearsighted one.
I will go write now.

Well, that's true, she could technically if she were listening in on her sister's mind. But she tends to avoid doing that.

After all, her sister talks to dead people. There's stuff in her head that Lee does not want to mess with.

You were saying?

Seriously though, it's less of a running gag and more of a personality trait.

Hmm, I might start making a ghost compendium so I can keep track of all the main ghosts Lily keeps in touch with...

Appearance: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/f4/b6/dd/f4b6ddaca0efd1bd6e4607d066b8366c.jpg
Current status: James is a police constable, single and has few if any prospects for courting. He is a reliable officer, but cold and abrupt in his personality.

Abilities: James has the unique ability to make people hear sounds that are not really happening. He is not able to explain the science of it, but it happens by altering the neural synapses in the ears of others. He can't do this to animals (or spirits, for that matter). James should be in at least the same room or within clear visual sight of the person he wants to affect. While he can't do this to multiple people at once, he can affect individuals very soon after another, so it seems as if each is hearing the same thing relatively close to each other. He has used this ability in confrontations with criminals to trick them into thinking someone behind them is going to fire a gun at them, as well as conversations and other things to get an advantage. While he hasn't been publicly suspected of altering people's hearing, some of the criminals he has apprehended have had to see an alienist for their preposterous ideas of things they heard in the night.

Skills: James is a decent shot at his pistol that he carries with him, as well as field cleaning it. He is skilled at fighting with his club as well. James has also developed a skill and interest in photography and darkroom development of film. He has contacts with some in law enforcement and some criminals (snitches).

What were they doing during the fight where the priest died?: (RP style, In character, At least 2 paragraphs, this will be used in place of an RP example)
Glowering in his room, the fourteen-year old young man stared out his window at the open sky. His swollen lip still pulsing from the recent fight with the other boy, James couldn't help but think that the younger brat had had it coming to him. HIs fists ached and were still bleeding somewhat, but it was a good feeling nonetheless. If only he hadn't been caught! But someone had told on him, snitched James out, and now he was waiting for what he knew was coming. In short time, he was going to be having another stern lecture from the priest, lecturing about damnation and mortal sin. James hated him. He hated them all, for that matter. What was this going to be, the 30th such lecture he had heard? And yet still the priest found a way to dig in to him and make his skin crawl.

Watching the wind blow, James' mind was elsewhere. He was running back through the times families had come to the orphanage to adopt. When he had been a lot younger, how his hopes had risen that the family would want him! But alas. Visit after visit, family after family, James had been at first overlooked. Too quiet. Too much fighting. And then, too old. There had been a few times he had gone home with families, but they had all ended the same. Baseless accusations from the family, like that he had stolen silver from the family's chest, fighting with the other children or servants, yelling, disciplines. And then, he had been sent back to the orphanage. While some had stayed for a short while, and some for a good amount of time only to be adopted, James had given up any idea of ever being adopted. In the place of his long-departed hope had grown a deep hatred of the orphanage, the priest, and the other people there. When he was old enough, he was going to leave this place far behind and make it on his own, doing something he wasn't yet sure of.

Did you read the rules?: "I am weary of the axe."
DO NOT DELETE THE FOLLOWING, #404notfound

If you can drop the age by one it can be accepted :)

The age has been dropped one year. I take it this means James is ok?
