Josef's Shipping quarters
Josef just awoke, and he starts to the bathroom, uses it, and gets his Ship Uniform on. He gets some Hardtack, some Dried Fruit, some Coffee, and some sauerkraut from his chest, put it on his tiny table, and starts eating. He notices something on his floor near the door. A Letter. He opens it up, and its from the Duke. "I wish you safe travels and plenty of very good friends on your travels. May God Keep you and Hold you above the Open Sea. -Duke Franz-Josef Habsburg of the Austro-Hungarian Empire". He puts the letter in his chest, and starts eating. After he's done, he puts his things away, and goes upstairs to report to deck, but on the way up, he notices a lovely girl. "How do you do? My name is Josef. How's your cruise so far? Do you know how to play music? Well, I do. I'm a Musician here, as you can tell from my Uniform.".

Sir Edward Pomeroy
RMS Titanic, Saloon

*Before the timeskip

"Where the hell is my son?" Sir Edward asked loudly as he entered the First Class Saloon, his eyes darted about the room as his head swivelled to scan all directions for any sight of his son. He finally caught sight of a young man dressed in the uniform of a British Army Captain, he approached the man and laid his hand on the gentleman's shoulder.

"Cedric?" He asked slowly.

The man turned slowly and he was quickly revealed to be weeping into a full glass of brandy, his hair was askew and his moustache was sodden with booze and slightly ruffled. "Father?" He responded, falling off of his barstool into the arms of his father. His weeping intensified as he clutched on to the collar of Sir Edward's Dinner Jacket and pushed his face into his father's chest. Sir Edward was completely taken aback, were it any other man, even his closest friend, Sir Edward would have pushed him away and yelled mercilessly, 'What the devil is wrong with you?'. But when the broken man before him was his own beloved son, Sir Edward could only stroke his hair and tell him that everything was fine.
Sir Edward picked Cedric up and led him from the room, greeting the attention of those around, and helped him down the stairs to his cabin, B84...

Emile was serving food to people at the gathering. He stopped for a moment to talk to the businessman who was taking care of his pets.
"Wait. You mean my dog's gone?! You must have left the door open, he could be anywhere...hold on, I'll be right back."
He suddenly runs off down a hallway, yelling "Nuuk! Here boy!" Barking can be heard and suddenly a malamute runs right through the middle of the gathering, with Emile chasing him.
"Bad dog! Help! Oh, why can't I just have a normal evening for once in my life?!"

First Officer William Murdoch smiled. The gala was going spectacularly; all of the classes were mingling- though the First Class passengers were a bit hesitant- and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The Scotsman was distracted when a massive Alaskan Malamute suddenly dashed into the middle of the room, barking madly. A young waiter knelt beside it. Murdoch stood rigid, his anger flaring up. This had ruined the evening. What would the guests say? Storming forward, the First Officer came to a halt before the boy and his dog.

"What bloody hell is going on here!" he said, sternly but quietly enough so that none of the passengers could overhear the conversation. "You work on the ship? Is this your dog?"

Emile probably should have stopped and tried to explain the situation. It wouldn't have helped much, but it probably would have been better in the long run than running away. Which is what he did.

Emile and Nuuk ran up the stairs to the deck. As they turned a corner, someone accidentally opened a door in Emile's face, knocking him to the floor. Emile looked up and saw the purser staring down at him. "Maybe he won't recognize me - oh, no, he's mad. He does," thought Emile.

Out of the corner of his eye, Emile saw his dog hiding himself under the tarp of a lifeboat. A wise choice, as it turned out.

Owen and Aifric looked at the large dog with a look of surprise, wondering why someone thought it'd be a good idea to bring a dog on board the ship.
"Think I should-" Owen began before his wife interrupted him.
"Yes you should." Aifric replied.
Owen nodded before he followed Emile in chasing the dog. Emile fell on top of him before Owen noticed Murdoch staring angrily at Emile.
"Hey!" Owen shouted as he tried to push Emile off him "Can someone explain to me why the hell ANYONE would take some dog on a ship anyways? I sure doubt it's this kids fault. Now please get off me!"

The purser stared down at Emile, his pudgy face reddening in anger. "You!" he bellowed, dropping the stack of papers in his hands and curling his hands into fists. He was about to explode when First Officer Murdoch rounded the corner in a huff, a shabbily dressed Irishman following him.

"There he is!" the Scot yelled, bounding forward to stand behind the French waiter. Five sailors emerged from the darkness, enveloping Emile. Murdoch searched the deck frantically for the Malamute. Seeing it nowhere, he rounded on who he presumed to be its owner. "Where is it! Where is your confounded mutt! Sailors, search the deck for a dog!" Instantly the burly crewmen set about their task, using flashlights to examine every inch of the deck.

"Now, why don't you start answering our questions!" the porter shouted, ramming a stubby finger into Emile's chest. Murdoch joined in.

"If that dog is your own, then the Captain will have your head! You had better fess up now, boy, or you will never work on any ship again!" A sailor was edging towards the tarp...

Thomas Andrews watched the men dash after the dog. What an embarrassment. He had to distract them. Turning to the band, he gestured for them to strike something up. Instantly the room was filled with the music of a lively waltz, and couples took to the floor, twirling about in the favored dance of the nobility. Satisfied, Andrews descended the steps. He saw a young, Irish-looking woman, huddled against the wall, and looking quiet nervous. Approaching her, he took another sip from his champagne glass before initiating the conversation.

"Are you enjoying the gala? We've tried to engineer it so as to accommodate all passengers of the Titanic." Thomas settled against the wall and watched the couples dance, intrigued. "Would you like to dance?" he said suddenly, reaching for her hand.

William Armadeus

Suddenly the crewmen surrounding Emile were approached by a tall, heavyset man in a very expensive suit. He did not seem particularly happy. One of the crew's face went pale. He had seen this man in the papers before.

"Might I ask what you are doing to my charge?" he began, towering over them. "He is supposed to be doing work on the ship, if I am not mistaken, to pay for his passage to New York. It would be most unfortunate if you were to interfere with this."

William reached into his pocket. He "accidentally" pulled out a ticket for three of the most expensive first class suites on the ship, and "accidentally" held it in front of the purser's face for a moment before putting it back.

"I imagine it wouldn't reflect well on the lot of you if your actions led to a high-paying passenger becoming displeased with this ship's hospitality. Especially one who is also a chief investor in White Star Lines."

He paused for a moment. Even the purser, whose face was red as a tomato, was speechless.

"Of course, if you were to, say, let this young chap clean up the mess he made and get back to work, the incident could be overlooked."

Cedric Pomeroy
RMS Titanic, Grand Staircase
Passenger Gathering

Cedric and his fiancee, Alice, hurried over to Emile and the men surrounding him, curious to discover the source of the slight commotion. He turned to Alice and whispered, "Hang back darling, I'll tell you what happened in a minute." Ever the independent woman, Alice opened her mouth to complain but upon seeing Cedric's serious expression, she relented and turned to talk to Isabella, Cedric's sister. Cedric approached the group and awkwardly pushed his way to the centre of the crowd where he saw a young waiter with an extremely familiar face... He thought to himself, trying his best to remember the previous circumstances that might have brought the pair together. It finally hit him.

"This man..." Cedric said, forcing his way forward to stand next to Emile, "Was there when the gentleman on the deck... Shot himself." He wiped his eyes, anticipating tears that never came, "I don't know what's going on here, but this gentleman has my support in the matter, anyway, he'll need to provide a statement."

First Officer Murdoch fumed inwardly as the heavyset man threatened them, although his outward demeanour remained placid. He loathed these types, who thought that their financial clout could make everything go their way. Turning to face him, William responded.

"Sir, I am dreadfully sorry- but we must investigate this manner. At the very least this man must be questioned- as you would know, being an investor. It is company protocol. We will find the animal that caused this ruckus, and if it turns out that this employee was not involved with it, then everything will be set right. Alas, he must be questioned and the dog must be found. The crew will do everything to ensure that the remainder of your voyage is peaceful and pleasurable, sir, and you won't have to complain after all." With a tart smile he turned his back to the big man and continued to direct his crew. "Mr. McElroy, will you please take this young man to your office? I'll be down in a few minutes- after the animal is found- and we'll ask him a few questions." The purser nodded and grabbed Emile by the arm, prodding him down a flight of stairs. The First Officer redirected his attention to the sailors. "For God's sake, find the animal already!"

One man ripped the tarp off- unveiling the big Malamute. Seizing the dog immediately, four men bounded over and restrained it. Murdoch sighed. "One of you, please alert the Chief Officer. He can deal with this animal while I talk to that waiter." Suddenly a well-dressed young man entered the deck, and protested Emile's removal. "Sir, it's quite alright. Please, make your way back to the gala. This will be taken care of."

Jaxon Caldwell

Jaxon made his way to the ship-wide party that was happening and quickly looked around to see that he recognized nobody. He quickly sat in a corner and watched the other people mingle.
Madison Noel

Madison quickly brushed by Jaxon, being a third class passenger she felt very uncomfortable. She finally found a spot that was not occupied by other people and sat alone.
Chief Officer Henry Wilde

The chief officer managed to walk down the grand staircase in time to see First Officer Murdoch yelling at somebody. It appeared to be a first class passenger, a wealthy man. Henry knew that the man had to have said something very inconsiderate to anger Murdoch. He immediately feared for the man who decided to cross the first officer. As he came into earshot, he heard Murdoch explaining about an investigation and explaining company protocol. From what he could tell, as the episode continued in front of him, McElroy was taking a young crew member away and there was an animal on the loose. Four crew members found and restrained a large dog and he heard Murdoch request a crew member to alert the Chief Officer. That was when Henry decided to make his presence known, since it was evident that the madness going on before him was distracting everybody.

"What is going on here, William?" Henry asked as a passenger arrived to protest the removal of the young crew member.

William Armadeus

William spoke again as Emile was being taken away. He didn't like using his wealth to sway people, and wasn't too surprised that it hadn't worked.

"Alright, I'll cut out the indignified aristocrat charade. That is his dog, but it is my fault it's loose. I was taking care of it for him since crewmen can't have pets, and I left my door open a crack my mistake. It must have smelled Emile and gone looking for him. Do what you like with me, but let this poor boy go. If he's done anything wrong, I'm sure it wasn't on purpose. I should know; he used to work for me, after all."

He paused for a moment.

"Also, I apologize for being rude before...I have a bad habit of not thinking before I act."

After the pleasant dinner and following conversation with Wilhelm, William and Oliver made their way with Wilhelm to the evening gala. It was a grand sight to see many of the ship's passengers enjoying the luxury of the ship. William went to get drinks but was lost in the crowd as Oliver and Wilhelm continued their conversation. Having given up on all hopes of finding his friends among the thousands of passengers milling about, William headed away from the center of the room to escape the busiest area of the crowd. Seeing a young lady sitting alone, he made his way over and offered one of the champagne glasses.

"A drink, miss?" he asked.

The First Officer wheeled around at the inquisitive voice of Chief Officer Wilde. He asked what was going on- a justified question.

"I'm very glad you've arrived, Henry. There has been an incident where a dog broke into the Gala- quite embarrassing for the ship and White Star- and the apparent culprit is this young man." William pointed to Emile, who was hovering before a doorway; the Purser who restrained him awaited new orders from Wilde. Suddenly the big gentleman spoke again. Murdoch's head cleared as the passenger apologized for his brashness; a heavy weight was lifted from him, knowing that if he managed this properly no complaint would be issued to White Star. "It's quite alright sir, no need to apologize. If what you say is indeed true then the young man will not be punished. I suppose you can take the dog- if Chief Officer Wilde has no objections- and be on your way. The young man will be released." He turned to the porter and nodded curtly. Huffing, the stout man shoved Emile off him gruffly. When the other men had started to drift off he leaned in, red-faced.

"You had better watch yourself, boy. It isn't wise to make enemies with your superiors, and that's what you've done. Put one toe out of line- and you might as well kiss your job- and any job- goodbye." He grimaced, pushed Emile, and left the deck.

Emile Chaillon

Emile stood for a moment and made his way back to the gala. He imagined they'd want him to clean up any messes his dog had made. There wasn't much displaced; an empty glass had fallen to the floor and a tablecloth had been upset, but nothing was broken. After remedying the problem, Emile was called into the kitchen, and spent the next half hour cleaning out dirty drains.

Aifric looked at the man who asked to dance with her with a very shy and embarrassed look. Sure her husband might not mind but what if he did? Besides how was she supposed to know how long he'd be gone? But, for now at least, it seemed Owen wouldn't be back anytime soon. Cautiously Aifric stepped forward, outstretched her hand, and asked the officer "You sure you'd like to dance with me?"

Owen looked at Murdoch confused but figured it'd be best now if he not get involved. The others didn't pay him any attention. His wife and him seemed invisible to these people. He sighed, bitterly as he basically had left his wife and the gala for nothing, and slowly trudged back to it, figuring he might as well take in the cold fresh air. At least the sea would keep him company.

Madison Noel

Madison looked up nervously when she heard a voice ask if she would like a drink. She immediately saw a man who appeared to be first class, why would he be talking to her - a low third class? She tried to smile but probably didn't look well doing so.

"Y-yes, that sounds nice," she immediately noticed that he was holding out a champagne glass to her. She grabbed the glass, "thank you."
Chief Officer Henry Wilde

First Officer Murdoch seemed very surprised to see Henry appear so suddenly. He quickly said that he was glad that Henry had arrived upon the situation and there had been an incident. He pointed at the young waiter and said that he was the one behind the incident.

The First Officer wheeled around at the inquisitive voice of Chief Officer Wilde. He asked what was going on- a justified question. He explained to a passenger that he can take the dog and be on his way - as long as Henry didn't object - and nodded as William stated the waiter could go about his way.

He listened as the Purser warned the young waiter before pushing him away and departing. He gave a harsh glare at the Purser while he was still there but didn't say anything to him. He glanced sympathetically at the waiter as he walked away.

"I think you handled that fairly well and managed not to be too harsh in your treatment," Henry said to William.

Murdoch smiled. "Thank you. I try not to make myself too deplorable in the eyes of the crew, but justice must still be brought about, even at sea." He remembered the famous tale of Billy Bud, a sailor who was falsely convicted and hanged for conspiracy- a sacrificial lamb. It was an analogy of sorts for Jesus' own sacrifice, and had many parallels with the Scriptures. "I hope the passengers are not too disturbed. That could have gone much worse for us and the Line. " He glanced behind himself to see that they were alone. "We had better keep an eye on that gentleman. He might appear to be absurdly wealthy and influential, but he's a schemer. Tried to threaten me, claiming he was an investor." William paused. "Strange for him to take an interest in that boy..." He hoped Henry got the gist. "Do you think?"

Thomas Andrews smiled. "Of course! You do know how to waltz? It's rather simple." He demonstrated, placing one gloved hand on her shoulder and the other at her waist. He slowly began to turn and begin the dance, hoping she would pick up.

"What is your name, my lady?"

Seeing the confusion in the woman's face at being addressed by him, William offered his explanation. Judging by her clothing, William presumed that she was from second, or even third class. No doubt she was confused as to why he was talking to her, but this was a gala for all, regardless of class.

"I lost my friends in the crowd, and I wanted to get away from all of the activity for a little bit. And in addition, it would be an awful shame to waste the champagne." He said with a smile.
"May I?" he asked, gesturing toward the empty seat.

Aifric smiled as she and Andrews waltzed together. It took her a bit to get her bearings but, when she did, she was in nearly perfect tune with the ship designer.
"My name's Aifric Carter, sir. And may I say you dance beautifully!"
As the two danced Aifric lost her sense of the world and just enjoyed how good a time she was having with her dance partner.

Unfortunately for her, her ACTUAL partner showed up. And he was angry at the sight.
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Owen roared loudly, his green eyes fixed on the Irishman dancing with his wife.
Aifric suddenly stopped and turned on her heels to face her husband.
"Own!" She shouted, worried he'd do something rash "i-it's not what it looks like!"
Owen didn't care. He charged Thomas and slugged him across the jaw. When Thomas hit the floor Owen began to beat him, cursing the man for daring to be with his wife without permission.

Madison Noel
Madison smiled kindly, "Sure, nobody else is sitting there." She could have said no the stranger, but figured that they were likely to never meet again after the ship's arrival in New York. Especially since she'd not be in America long and would be returning to England in a month.
Chief Officer Henry Wilde

Henry smiled back at William, nodding as he listened to him speak. He seemed worried about the passengers being upset about the whole situation and then went into detail about how the gentleman William got into it with had tried to threaten him and claimed to be an investor. William then expressed worry for the boy, saying that the man seemed to hold a strange interest for the boy.

Henry nodded, "Have the crew keep an eye on him, but refrain from confronting him since we don't know he's up to any terrible action for sure."

Just as he had completed the sentence, he could see a man run towards another man and attack him. He noticed the attacked man to be Thomas Andrews and that the other man was beating him up. Henry immediately began to rush towards the commotion and was certain that Murdoch was probably right behind him. As he neared, a small crowd of passengers had formed around the fight, mostly third class. As he got within a few feet of the crowd, he blew his officer's whistle to cause them to disperse. He reached out and pulled the man off of Thomas and pushed the man towards William Murdoch, waiting for Murdoch to grip him firmly before letting go. Henry helped Thomas up from the ground.

"Are you alright Mr. Andrews? What is the commotion about?" He turned to the other man, "What is your business attacking another passenger?"

Thomas' contented smile was sucked from his face as he heard Owen begin shouting obscenities. He drew away from Aifric and was about to try and defuse the situation when the man charged him. Surprised, Andrews felt a heavy, vengeful blow connect with his jaw and fell backwards, crashing into a table and provoking shouts and screams from its occupants. The shipbuilder felt his lip, and sure enough a stream of blood was leaking out and onto his new suit. In seconds the Irishman was on top of him again, throwing punches at him in a blind rage. Thomas knocked several miscalculated blows aside but felt Owen's fists slam into his stomach. Taking his time, Andrews struck out at his attacker, landing a solid punch to his face and forcing him to reel backwards in pain. Suddenly William Murdoch and Henry Tingle Wilde, the First and Chief Officers, burst through the crowd of passengers. The Scot wrapped his arms around Owen's waist and pulled him back, desperately attempting to restrain the man, who continued to swing his fists wildly. Wilde blew a whistle, which managed to make the onlookers back up a few steps. Then the Chief Officer stepped towards Thomas and pulled him to his feet.

"Are you alright Mr. Andrews? What is the commotion about?" the man asked earnestly, looking from Thomas to Owen.

"Yes. Yes, I'm fine." He dabbed at his busted lip with a napkin; his attacker was nursing the beginnings of a black eye. He took a shaky step towards the Third Class Passenger. "What the devil has gotten into you, sir? Are you mad?" He asked this sincerely, his eyes registering some anger but mostly shock.

The First Officer kept his arms around Owen. "Have we got any handcuffs, or restraints?" he asked Wilde, looking around for a boy to fetch them.

Capilean News (Updated 16 November)
Where is the horse gone? Where the warrior?
Where is the treasure-giver? Where are the seats at the feast?
Where are the revels in the hall?
Alas for the bright cup! Alas for the mailed warrior!
Alas for the splendour of the prince!
How that time has passed away, dark under the cover of night, as if it never were.

Chief Officer Henry Wilde

The entire situation had happened so fast, though William now stood restraining the crazed Irishman and Mr. Andrews was standing and talking. Henry handed him a napkin that Andrew began dabbing his own lip with to stop the bleeding from it. Henry was relieved to hear that the man was okay.

He looked over at William as he was asked if there were any restraints or handcuffs aboard the ship. Wilde noticed a young waiter walking past, "Go find something to restrain this man, quickly now."

Aifric glared at Owen.
"What the hell were you thinking, Owen!"
She marched up to him and the Scot holding him back. Owen, for once in the whole commotion, showed fear.
"Aifric I-"
"You just assumed he was trying to seduce me from a simple waltz! Are you mad?"
Her fiery red hair reflected the fiery look that filled her eyes. Owen looked hurt.
"Ai-" Owen began but the Second Class woman stomped over to Thomas.
"I'm sorry, sir," she said "but if you don't wish to resume our dance I need to return to my room."

Turning away from the confrontation, Cedric was surprised to see Thomas Andrews dabbing blood off of his lip and jaw. He approached the Irish shipbuilder and gently placed his hand on the man's shoulder.
"Mister Andrews..." He said, unaware of the situation, "Are you okay, sir, what has happened here?"

Behind him Isabella, his sister, made use of the time to sneak up to the group and ask Chief Officer Wilde to a dance at what seemed like quite an inappropriate time...
