Nation Name: New Finnish Republic
Interests: Character RPs that mainly revolve around Medieval-Fantasy, but I'm willing to try out a variety of things.
Activity Level (How often do you post?): Normally at least once a day, schedule permitting, more if possible.
What do you hope contribute?: I have a lot of ideas for possible RPs, and I'm more than willing to join others in their endeavors.

Actually, after WW 2, Nazi's in other countries did do testing for Atomic weapons in other countries, so your idea could still have some merits.

Hey, would anyone mind helping me on this RP I'm working on? It's based on Titanfall, and I'm looking for both advice and for those I can trust to manage some of the bigger factions. I should note, this is a rough draft of the RP, and I'll be adding more later. Thanks!

Giants Rising


The year is 2119, and humanity has expanded its reach far beyond planet Earth. Thanks to the development of faster-than-light travel in the year 2067, humans have been able to explore solar systems light years away from their own. By the year 2079, humans had set up their first colony on the planet Eden which was similar to Earth in the Brahe Solar System as well as several outposts on its moon Amazonia. Due to the considerable distance between Earth, these colonists were essentially on their own and had to rely on themselves.

To aid them in this, the colonists brought with them the massive semi-autonomous machines known as Giants with them. These Giants were immensely powerful and durable, serving the colonists as both working tools and protection from the local wildlife of Eden. They came in a variety of forms, some big and heavily armored while others were smaller and highly agile. They proved extremely useful to the colonists, and soon Eden had become prosperous due to the wealth of resources the planet held. In control of these Giants were people known as Pilots. These Pilots were men and women of incredible intelligence, agility, and strength who were able to handle the rigorous demands of the Giants.

Within a handful of generations, citizens of Eden began to feel less and less connected to their Earthly origin, and soon calls of independence rang from across the planet. The United Earth Council, or UEC, was not willing to allow this to happen. Eden was too valuable to let loose, and by the year 2116, the UEC sent in an expeditionary force to subdue to colonists.

This proved to do the exact opposite, however, as the citizens of Eden saw this as an act of invasion of their homeland. Protests rang out from across the planet, and soon the spark for conflict was provided after UEC forces opened fire upon an unruly mob in the Eden capital of Atlas in the year 2117. This incident, which led to the deaths of several innocent protestors, would be known as the Atlas Incident. UEC leadership refused to punish those responsible, which was the final straw for the colonists. Civil war had begun as the colonists formed a resistance known as the Minutemen.

Two years after the Atlas Incident, the conflict continued on with the Minutemen controlling the Northern hemisphere while the UEC controlled the Southern. A stalemate had been reached, as the Minutemen couldn't match the military prowess of the UEC and the UEC were limited in both numbers and resources due to the immense distance between Earth and Eden. However, they weren't the only players involved in the conflict. Independent groups emerged from the conflict, some favoring the UEC, some favoring the Minutemen, and others choosing to favor neither.

The fate of Eden rests in the hands of those with those talented enough to stand above the rest. Will that be you, Pilot?


I'm thinking of putting in character, giant, and faction apps. While I want it to be mainly focused on characters, I'm willing to allow those who are up to the challenge to take charge of the UEC force, the Minutemen, or any other faction. I'd allow custom Giants, weapons, and technology for people to use as long as it's somewhat realistic.

I'd be interested in that. I wouldn't be the Minutemen's leader, but maybe a high ranking NCO?

2005,

A half decade past the induction of a new era of warfare. A half decade of loss, fear, and war. Iraq and Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, the Somali and Nigerian civil wars, Maghreb, all issues that threaten to grow larger and consume more and more lives. It's something the UN has been motivated by.

Members of both the permanent and temporary UNSC have decided to pour a considerable amount of resources into an international task force. Capable of reaching out and operating in environments and situations in which conventional Peacekeepers could not. Due to bureaucracy and the general lack of creativeness on the UN's part, they are simply known as 'The Peacekeepers'.

With a majority of the international community backing them, they'll either usher in a new era of peace and safety, or fail and be shuffled into the files of numerous failed UN programs. As a member, it's partially up to you to decide

RULES:
1. No Godmodding/Meta-Gaming: This can be defined as playing your character without limitations or having your character know things they couldn't possibly know.
2. Don't be a dick in the OOC: You can have your character be an aggressive and smarter version of a certain President-Elect in the IC. But the moment you act like a dick in the OOC thread you'll get a warning.
3. No One Liners: Three full lines of text per each IC post, anything less is frowned upon and is generally laziness and will not be accepted. Anything greater is acceptable and is smiled upon.
4. No 'Dick measuring' contests: The moment two of you start arguing over which character is better, and it doesn't contribute to goings on in the IC. You'll both get a warning.
5. For the love of god keep it PG-13: This is a general site rule, and while PG-13 is a blurred line nowadays, the rules of thumb are: nothing sexually explicit, and nothing overly violent. This is a place to role play as Operators Operating Operationally, not write out deviant fantasies.
6. No multicolor or odd dialogue: No colored text, and no italicized/bolded/underlines paragraphs. Reserve them for actual use instead of using them for everything.
7. If you have a problem with a player, take it to TG. If that does not work, bring it to the OP or a CoOP's attention. Do not turn the OOC thread into chaos.
8. You have a 72 hour grace period to post if you're holding someone back, after that your character will be forced to move on by the OP or Co-Op. Failure to return will result in character death.
9. Don't just write for yourself, other want to get involved as well. I realize it's human nature, but try to involve other people's ideas, themes, and characters. A major part in RPing is having other people, don't turn them away or cast a blind eye.

Backstory


The year is 2119, and humanity has expanded its reach far beyond planet Earth. Thanks to the development of faster-than-light travel in the year 2067, humans have been able to explore solar systems light years away from their own. By the year 2079, humans had set up their first colony on the planet Eden which was similar to Earth in the Brahe Solar System as well as several outposts on its moon Amazonia. Due to the considerable distance between Earth, these colonists were essentially on their own and had to rely on themselves. This wouldn't be much of an issue, however, as the planet was filled to the brim with untapped resources that were up for grabs to whoever was willing to work for them.

To aid them in this, the colonists brought with them the massive semi-autonomous machines known as Knights with them. These Knights were immensely powerful and durable, serving the colonists as both working tools and protection from the local wildlife of Eden. They proved extremely useful to the colonists, and soon Eden had become prosperous due to the wealth of resources the planet held. In control of these Giants were people known as Pilots. These Pilots were men and women of incredible intelligence, agility, and strength who were trained to handle the rigorous demand that was controlling a Knight.

Within a handful of generations, citizens of Eden began to feel less and less connected to their Earthly origin, and soon calls of independence rang from across the planet after the citizens began to feel like they were being cheated out of the wealth that Eden provided. The United Earth Council, or UEC, was not willing to allow this to happen. Eden was too valuable to let lose, and by the year 2116, the UEC sent in an expeditionary force to subdue to colonists.

This proved to do the exact opposite, however, as the citizens of Eden saw this as an act of invasion of their homeland. Protests rang out from across the planet, and soon the spark for conflict was provided after UEC forces opened fire upon an unruly mob in the Eden capital of Atlas in the year 2117. This incident, which led to the deaths of several innocent protestors, would be known as the Atlas Incident. UEC leadership refused to punish those responsible, which was the final straw for the colonists. A war for independence had begun as the colonists formed a resistance known as The Frontiersmen.

Two years after the Atlas Incident, the conflict continued on with the Minutemen controlling the Northern hemisphere while the UEC controlled the Southern. A stalemate had been reached, as The Frontiersmen couldn't match the military prowess of the UEC and the UEC were limited in both numbers and resources due to the immense distance between Earth and Eden. However, they weren't the only players involved in the conflict. Independent groups emerged from the conflict, some favoring the UEC, some favoring The Frontiersmen, and others choosing to favor neither.

The fate of Eden rests in the hands of those with those talented enough to stand above the rest. Will that be you, Pilot?

Hello, and welcome to Knights of Steel. This RP is a mix of Character, Faction, and Worldbuilding. This RP is based on the game series TItanfall, developed by Respawn, and thus borrows a lot of the concepts from the two games. For those interested in joining, you will have the option of joining the UEC, The Frontiersmen, or any other factions that have been caught in the conflict as one of the elite individuals known as Pilots. You'll have your own Knight which you can equip with whatever fits you best.

While this is mainly an RP based around characters, it will also heavily revolve around the various factions as they battle for control of Eden. You are encouraged to suggest anything you feel would be good for the RP, whether it be Knights, weapons, cities, factions, or anything else that tickles your fancy. while it's not required, it would be helpful to watch this video, which goes over the lore of Titanfall, which this RP is heavily based upon.

As something to note, while this is futuristic, technology is still limited. Some things to note:

*Most weaponry is still traditional ballistic that would be similar to what is found today, although ion and plasma weaponry is available to organizations that can afford them
*Communication and travel from Earth and Eden still takes a significant amount of time, specifically five years
*While semi-autonomous AI is prevalent, there are no androids, synths, etc

Chronicles of Los Santanas (AKA Superhero but done right)

Los Santanas, California. Founded in the late 1700s by Spanish Colonials, it has a long and rich history, culminating in becoming the most populous city in North America in the year of 1975. Coincidentally the same year in which Meta-Human populations started to balloon. As of current, there were an assumed 18 Meta-Humans for every 200 US citizens. Enough to be an everyday occurrence in most places in the US, but not enough to be so common as to be a worry. At least it shouldn't have.

In late 1989, a small group of Meta-Humans broke in to a Nuclear Silo near Bismarck North Dakota with the intent of launching it at the USSR. Though the US government was not capable of responding in time for to prevent launch, they didn't need to, an anonymous team of Meta-Humans raided the facility in time to stop the launch from continuing, and detaining everyone involved with the plot within the silo. Although the US never learned their names, the radio transmissions between the team were recorded, Atlas, Jaeger, Nexus and Chrono. Four heroes who stopped the apocalypse, and disappeared just as quickly.

It was this event that lead to the UN signing of 'The Bismarck Accords' a binding resolution outlining the difference and regulations between Meta-Human Vigilantism and Policing, allowing Meta-Humans to use their powers to assist law enforcement in the capturing and detainment of criminals, with the exchange of being held to the same rules and regulations as normal law enforcement officers.

Over the next five years, the four heroes who saved the world from a nuclear holocaust reappeared across the continental US, none of them becoming member of organized law enforcement, but their reputation stopping them from being arrested. Until they stopped showing up completely at the turn of the century. No appearances were made by any of the quartet. Until 2012 when Chrono finally revealed herself and signed on as a member of the Los Santana's Meta-Regulation Department. It's where she remains, tight lipped as ever on the location of her former friends.

Yet all around stand men, women, and children spurred on by their example, ready to fight and serve for justice, vigilante or not, Meta-Human or not, they all stand for a common goal. The cessation of villainy and crime within their home. But they aren't the only ones with plans, those with their own goals stand to test both their own and the city's mettle. In an attempt to simply change the world to their own view, or through societal detachment, they wish ill on the heroes of a new age.

Just as a suggestion, one thing you might want to consider is an immediate plot, something to move the story along initially. The overarching conflict is a fine backstory, but having things or campaigns for your factions/characters to react to would be wise as well- otherwise faction RPs can get a bit open ended and fizzle out in to a lot of unrelated incidents.

Perhaps something like the discovery of a new site for a foundry whose weapons output could change the tide of the war, or a campaign by X NPC leader to capture a strategic city. Something to get action rolling right out the gate.

The Resurgence

Summary:

Five hundred years ago the world was a more advanced place. There were magic powered airships, instantaneous communication and even mechs to a degree. That all ended with the Cataclysm destroyed much of the world. No one knows who or what caused it but, many think it started in the middle east. Since that land is just one giant unending sandstorm of death. But, magic itself went away soon after the Cataclysm and all technology that survived soon became useless. The survivors started to rebuild their lands and over time nations started to form. And soon during the third English war for control of the Isles would show the world of the return of magic.

The Isles or known of the Isle of the Four Kingdoms was a region in war. For the Pact made up of three kingdoms, Ireland,Scotland and Wales fought to remain free from the English. During the third English war that saw Wales conquered, did magic make it return. In the way of Welsh rebels using the long dead art against the English and managed to regain their freedom. In the confusion of seeing this art being used against them, did the Irish and the Scots strike back. They pushed the English south and Welsh pushed them east. The Scots conquered the the provinces of Newcastle and Somerset. Plus the Welsh managed to reclaim their long lost provinces in the east. Though the English did managed to regroup it was too late and the war ended soon after.

Now after the war, magic is slowly returning to the world and nations are starting to seize the opportunity. Mages were being found and were trying to be trained. Some of the surviving relics of the past are humming with life once more. It is a race to for magical relics of the past and perhaps a chance to reclaim the glory of the past. But, the sandstorm in the middle east is seemly getting worse and something else is awaking up from a long slumber.

Overview:

This rp is set in alt-history world where magic was a major element of life till the Cataclysm. The Cataclysm was a magic-based disaster that destroyed much of the world and caused the downfall of governments world-wide. The current year is 500 A.C, five hundred after the Cataclysm and the world has rebuilt for the most part. Only a few nations currently have mages and even then their are beginner level at best.



Human

Elves - Split into four groups-
(Dark Elves) - Though related to the other Elven races, Dark Elves are distinct in their unique skill in magic. Often, they are differentiated from other Elves due to their dark tone of skin; their empty eyes a trademark. Like other Elven races, they too have a long lifespan and are resistant to disease.

(Snow Elves) - The Snow Elves are white-haired, white-skinned elves residing in northern Alba and Scandinavia, although mainly in Jontvier. They have, like all other elf races, pointy ears but also have whiter skin then the other Elven races, or all the races in general. They follow the Way of Ten and those living outside of the more civilized Alba and Sweillia having a 'barbaric', viking lifestyle with a high emphasis and importance of companionship. Due to their culture, lifestyle and physical adaptation they are the strongest and most physically capable of the Elven races.

(Dune Elves) - refuges of the former Klacqi Empire, are distinct for their scholarly pursuits. Due to them being refuges at first, what was left of the Dune Elves cling to what traditions that they have. They are differentiated from other elves from their tan skin or from their clothes. Like to other Elves they have long lifespan and are resistant to disease.

(Wood Elves) - The Wood Elves are native to the Island of Lýðveldið and despite what many would think. It is a Island of forests and is home to one of the holy sites of the Ten Divines. Due to the presence shire of huntress goddess, the elves of Lýðveldið are the most attuned with nature. Many have tattoos of which clan their come and have animal companions. Also rarely leave the island and are almost ever seen on the mainland.

Dwarf - Dwarves are unnaturally small people living in Central and Eastern Europe with a culture revolving around mining and metalwork. Despite their size, they are a strong and resilient race profound for their crafting skills. Although only controlling one nation in Europe, they have mining towns and villages dotted around the known world.

Werebeast - Range from humanoids with animal characteristics or a werewolf,werebear, wereboar, Etc....

Dragonlings - They are a race believed to have descended from dragons of old. Now standing upright on two legs, the average male is around 7'' tall while females tend to peak around 6'4". These creatures are known for their natural resistance to the elements, sharp claws, and their ability to exhale and ignite highly flammable fumes. They manage to survive in the harshest climates that range from the frozen mountainous regions to deserts to avoid conflict with the rest of the "modern" world.

The Touched/Kryst - The Kryst are outcasts, either by force, fate, or choice. Regardless of the why, the fact remains, the Kryst live outside of the protection of the Parishes. The Kryst (known as the Touched in the Parishes, a name they consider insulting) is a community of people who live in the wilds of the Parishes and share common space for mutual defense and survival. Community begets culture and the Kryst have a fascinatingly unique culture, and it is from this culture they derive their name. Latreis Tou Krystallo, the lovers of the crystal, are a loose collective of outcast tribes that have a single cultural commonality that bring them together. They practice body modification in the form of grafting colorful crystals into their skin. These crystals, however, have given these people an unforeseen advantage. They call it magic, and older civilization might have called it technology. Either way it grants them a variety of magic-like abilities that vary depending on the color of crystals grafted into their skin. There is a drawback, however. The more a Kryst uses his or her powers, the more likely they are to become disfigured physically and deranged mentally. Those who use their power sparingly and with intelligence pass easily for anyone else (except for their crystalline implants) and avoid the worst of the harassment from the Array. Those who act carelessly and with greed become monstrous and psychotic. The Array kill these beasts on sight, and they are shunned even from their own community. The Kryst are not uncommon in Parish cities, but they have no official standing, and the Array and Gun Dogs treat them however they want without consequence. For the most part people are outwardly civil with them, but it varies depending on Parish. In some places they are outright hated. Abilities do vary on crystal color and rarity. Let me know what you'd like your crystal power to be. @Shadowwell will be posting a system outlining how the crystal power structure works. If your interested in playing this class, let me know so we can discuss powers/abilities. The more powerful crystals (white and black) will be off limits at the beginning of the RP. Also we'll discuss how deformations manifest both mentally and physically.


Followers of the Ten - found mainly in the Isles and in some parts in the mainland - A human-based religion that worships five gods and goddess. It is among the oldest religions in the world and is used to be more widely practiced in the world. The followers follow the teachings of the ten which stress balance, honor, knowledge, strength and courage.

Way of Ten - Mainland Europe past Germaira - Similar to religion to the Followers. A religion practiced mainly by snow elves which populate Jonvier, some residents of Noreich, Sweillia, Suomi and snow elves which have immigrated to Alba. The Way of Ten is modeled by Nordic and Pagan mythology with ten gods that created the Cataclysm when the world previously went to hell, ushering in a new age. It is very non-religious in practice with little superstitions. The ten gods symbolize different things, one fire, one water, one earth, one thought, one war, one satisfaction, one personality, one industry, one ethics and one body.

Draconic Ancestor Worship - North Africa - They commonly follow a religion more centered around their ancestors, frequently seen worshiping statues and shrines built to please the god-like beasts that they descend from.

The Faith - Mainland Europe up to Germaira -

Spirits of the Wild - North and West Africa -

All-Father - Greece - Single deity religion that was native to the coastline and some inland regions of the Klacqi Empire. The religion though small is among the oldest religion in the world and worships a all powerful creator like being. The religion managed to survive the Cataclysm by surviving refugees that would later settle in Greece.

Operation: Brass Eye (WWII|Occult/Supernatural|Character)

April, 1946. The Second World War is long over. The Nuremburg trials are well under way. Despite her defection with several documents and POWs over the English Channel, Sturmbannführer Elsa Konig is put on trial for aiding in crimes against humanity. Her case is no where near as straight forward as expected, quickly becoming a classified case. Sturmbannführer Konig reveals several notable facts revolving around her previous posting within the Schutzstaffel: As head of the SS' occult and supernatural research. It is revealed that the last and now largest facility of the SS research branch is located overseas in Argentina, constructed in secret from the Argentinian government.

Both the MI6 and OSS concur that letting the fanatics of a now dead Nazi Germany get their hands on supernatural artifacts and functions cannot be allowed. A strike team is put together of allied soldiers and spies, with Sturmbannführer Konig acting as a guide to the hidden facility. Their goals is to retrieve as much data from the facility as possible for retrieval and allied research and to destroy the facility itself with extreme prejudice. It is assumed that the facility is no larger than a standard research lab. Intelligence is wrong. Nearly six years of expansion and excavating have lead to a veritable village located underground. And a collection of supernaturally powered soldiers, scientists, and creatures.

As a member of Strike Team Noire, you will be participating in Operation: Brass Eye. Your actions will reflect what result will stem from this operation's end, for better or worse, the fate of future generations hinges on you.



  • 1. No Godmodding/Meta-Gaming: This can be defined as playing your character without limitations or having your character know things they couldn't possibly know. Like a six year old conscripted child knowing of the impending Covenant threat or what the hell is going to happen to them when they go to sleep that night.
  • 2. Don't be a dick in the OOC: You can have your character be an aggressive and smarter version of a certain political candidate in the IC. But the moment you act like a dick in the OOC thread you'll get a warning.
  • 3. No One Liners: Three full lines of text per each IC post, anything less is frowned upon and is generally laziness and will not be accepted. Anything greater is acceptable and is smiled upon.
  • 4. No 'Dick measuring' contests: The moment two of you start arguing over which character is better, and it doesn't contribute to goings on in the IC. You'll both get a warning.
  • 5. For the love of god keep it PG-13: This is a general site rule, and while PG-13 is a blurred line nowadays, the rules of thumb are: nothing sexually explicit, and nothing overly violent. This is a place to role play as a black ops soldier, not write out deviant fantasies.
  • 6. No multicolor or odd dialogue: No colored text, and no italicized/bolded/underlines paragraphs. Reserve them for actual use instead of using them for everything.
  • 7. If you have a problem with a player, take it to TG. If that does not work, bring it to the OP or a CoOP's attention. Do not turn the OOC thread into chaos.
  • 8. You have a 72 hour grace period to post if you're holding someone back, after that your character will be forced to move on by the OP or Co-Op. Failure to return will result in character death.
  • 9. Don't just write for yourself, other want to get involved as well. I realize it's human nature, but try to involve other people's ideas, themes, and characters. A major part in RPing is having other people, don't turn them away or cast a blind eye.
  • 10. As expected the RP is based in mid 1946, that means that any tech created past mid 1946 will not be allowed.

Their goals is to retrieve as much data from the facility as possible for retrieval and allied research and to destroy the facility itself with extreme prejudice. It is assumed that the facility is no larger than a standard research lab. Intelligence is wrong. Nearly six years of expansion and excavating have lead to a veritable village located underground. And a collection of supernaturally powered soldiers, scientists, and creatures.

As a member of Strike Team Noire, you will be participating in Operation: Brass Eye. Your actions will reflect what result will stem from this operation's end, for better or worse, the fate of future generations hinges on you.


  • 1. No Godmodding/Meta-Gaming: This can be defined as playing your character without limitations or having your character know things they couldn't possibly know. Like a six year old conscripted child knowing of the impending Covenant threat or what the hell is going to happen to them when they go to sleep that night.
  • 2. Don't be a dick in the OOC: You can have your character be an aggressive and smarter version of a certain political candidate in the IC. But the moment you act like a dick in the OOC thread you'll get a warning.
  • 3. No One Liners: Three full lines of text per each IC post, anything less is frowned upon and is generally laziness and will not be accepted. Anything greater is acceptable and is smiled upon.
  • 4. No 'Dick measuring' contests: The moment two of you start arguing over which character is better, and it doesn't contribute to goings on in the IC. You'll both get a warning.
  • 5. For the love of god keep it PG-13: This is a general site rule, and while PG-13 is a blurred line nowadays, the rules of thumb are: nothing sexually explicit, and nothing overly violent. This is a place to role play as a black ops soldier, not write out deviant fantasies.
  • 6. No multicolor or odd dialogue: No colored text, and no italicized/bolded/underlines paragraphs. Reserve them for actual use instead of using them for everything.
  • 7. If you have a problem with a player, take it to TG. If that does not work, bring it to the OP or a CoOP's attention. Do not turn the OOC thread into chaos.
  • 8. You have a 72 hour grace period to post if you're holding someone back, after that your character will be forced to move on by the OP or Co-Op. Failure to return will result in character death.
  • 9. Don't just write for yourself, other want to get involved as well. I realize it's human nature, but try to involve other people's ideas, themes, and characters. A major part in RPing is having other people, don't turn them away or cast a blind eye.
  • 10. As expected the RP is based in mid 1946, that means that any tech created past mid 1946 will not be allowed.
  • 11. Have fun!
