Imagemidst the death of the evil Galactic Empire's Darth Vader and his master Emperor Palpatine, the Rebel Alliance too has been weakining in power as the galaxy calls for the restoration of the Galactic Republic. Within this vacuum of certainty, the First Order, led by the ruthless General Armitage Hux and Captain Phasma, have taken technology and ideas from the Empire to restore an iron fist over known space. Though they wish to impose their will, the order is being held captive by Kylo Ren a former jedi turned to the dark side who is being trained by the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke. The only combatants for the new forming Republic is the Resistance, led by General Leia Organa-Solo of the former Rebellion. The fighting has been constant, and worlds have only continued to suffer at the advances of the First Order and talk of an impending destructive weapon that could rival the Death Star has surfaced. Absent from the fray are the heroes of the rebellion, Han Solo, the wookie Chewbacca, and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker who was said to be training the next generation of Jedi before his academy was destroyed. While both groups remain on the hunt for the elusive Jedi, a new batch of dangerous rouges and like-minded individuals have congregated in the wake of the First Order's newest scheme, to use the Knights of Ren to hunt down Jedi and possibly create their own academy but of the Sith teachings.

In the midst of the defined struggles labeled as good and evil a newer group has formed out of the ashes of the ancient GenoHaradan guild calling themselves the Eternal Alliance. Eternals as they have been known colloquially are comprised of failed First Order students, smugglers, rebel alliance fighters, and many more who have become disillusioned by the fighting both groups have caused and believe taking out key targets could alleviate the situation the galaxy is within. Such targets are Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren, and the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke. Should they be able to, they would install a galactic government that merely advises its members rather than making galactic policy that can disagree with the individual nuances of the thousands of planets in known space. They stand for Peace & Prosperity, and the definition of such wains depending on who in the alliance you speak with. Their numbers are small in comparison but have the ability to infiltrate both sides and expose the truths to the galaxy as they see fit.

For now it is 28 years after the battle of Yavin IV, Luke's Jedi Academy has been reduced to nothing more than rubble, the Knights of Ren have secured training under Sith tutelage, and the fight for the Galactic Republic continues.

Ord Mantell

Ord Mantell was a planet of incredible history on both sides of the force, a former Imperial territory and a landing spot for the legendary Millenium Falcon, the planet housed history not soon to be forgotten. For now the planet is in crisis of overcrowding, however, and in urban centers there's been an influx of refugees over the years after the war against the Empire displaced and scared many. Along the sandy coastline in the southern region lay capital city Worlport. Built on the architecture from Corellia, the city houses some signature stops but now is filled with foot traffic, constantly busy. Hidden within the crowd the Eternal Alliance has called a few of their members to the Lady Fate Casino where Constable Zuvio has traveled and quietly awaited them.

Meanwhile the First Order is headed to Ord Mantell as well, but for reasons held by Kylo Ren only. Ren has been searching for an artifact of the Empire, one that represents the power Kylo most idolizes as a symbol of might and the purest evils of the dark side. Though against the wishes of General Hux, Kylo aboard a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer arrived to the planet and has taken the Knights of Ren aboard his command shuttle to land and begin their search. To their opposition, the Resistance has taken position on a volcanic island housing Fort Garnik, an ancient republic military base in ruins which house a spaceport for incoming ships. The location is remote and the basis of their newest operation to secure negotiations with the head of Ord Mantel's government to interest them in joining the New Galactic Republic. This remains to only be a front as they too have small shreds of evidence of the artifact the First Order is searching for, and if they can retrieve it, would provide a minor win for the resistance and a major win for the forming republic.

"Renas Valum, Appraiser." that's what the ID signature said, so that's who he was. There was really no evidence to say that the strikingly handsome, red haired and well-mannered human would be other than what he said he was. After all, he did arrive in a nondescript but well maintained old Curich-class shuttle, and a sleek black R2 astromech unit, a Spacer's best friend.

Papers checked out, he was on a job at Serenno and Raxus Secendus before getting an assignment on Ord Mantell, and was promptly cleared. Of course, like most spacers, he and his Astromech had a bit of a banter once his papers were cleared and they roamed the streets, and the Landing Officer made an especially positive note about how soothing the newcomer's voice was.

Through the overcrowded streets, the odd duo would walk. The Astromech was the first to warble out a comment. "I thought Raxus Prime was the grimiest spot you've ever worked in..." the red haired man gave a wry grin. Another flurry of bleeps and blorps, the sleek black astromech would counter with something along the lines of "then this is the second dirtiest place!" "I wonder how long that will last..." the man chuckled "Relax, despite our current surroundings, our job could not be any easier... we go to the place, we appraise, get our credits, and move back to a shinier spot. That sounds good to you?"

The droid would grumble as they further entered the crowds of countless beings...to where? Only time will tell...

Ohomm Sukdenz

Ohumm was walking though the overcrowded streets and was on the planet for a while now. He was here for a bounty, a smuggler that had on the run from the local government. It was a easy job after the guy slipped up. Though the force did help and he would use the force from time to time. But, usually in low key ways after the destruction of the academy. He doesn't usually take government bounties but he needed the money right now and he was nearby. He went back to thinking about his time at the academy when he bumped in a human. "Hey" he said and Normally he would not think of it but, when he saw the red-haired human's face. Ohumm remember a padawan that looked like him and wondered if the two were the same. Cosinga could recognize Ohumm as a fellow padawan if he looked at Ohumm's face.

After bumping into the upteenth person on the street, the man felt a familiar presence in the Force. A person who was at the Academy. The man had to think fast, and gamble that this wasn't a Knight of Ren being incognito. Not that they had proven more than him one on one, but in numbers, and with the full might of the First Order's military, it could prove a bit exhausting.

Deciding risk it, he turned around and asked "Say...didn't I see you before on Raxus Prime...?"

His astromech went a few feet before stopping and turning around, whistling out a confused statement.

Werda Ren
28 BY
Mid Rim
Ord Mantell

Werda stood silently by the side of his brothers. His black cloak covered the dark plates of his beskar'gam. Some of he brothers preferred lighter armour, but he knew that his armour would protect him from any weakling Jedi. Kylo had ordered them to accompany him in his search for some relic he was after. Werda dutifully followed him aboard the Upsilon-class Command Shuttle. He would have preferred if they had taken separate shuttles, but decided it was not worth the argument. He had ordered a pilot to fly down his Pursuer-class Enforcement Ship, Cabur, and his Basilisk Droid Kyr'am incase he needed an emergency exit or some heavy firepower. Kylo had cautioned them to conceal their presence and only use lightsabers when necessary, he wouldn't do that unless their was a reason.

As they landed on the surface Kylo gave them their orders. Werda was to set out for some reconnaissance. Pulling his cloak over his armour and weapons he made his way onto the surface. What a backwater planet. He made his way into the street. Shrouding his presence in the force he would need to use his physical abilities to observe his surroundings. Luckily his Mandalorian made helmet's display screen was perfect for identifying anyone foolish enough to have a public bounty. Unfortunately that meant the more dangerous ones whose faces weren't on file could still be hiding in the crowd. Of course there were those who hadn't committed crimes, they could probably be ignored, but that still didn't make him any less wary of every shop and person he passed.

Valek would be lamenting the Casino, it was littered with scum and filth, all over. Gambling their lives away in hopes of riches or making backroom deals for items that are hard to acquire. He would be looking around at his 'allies' bounty hunters, smugglers (if they are there), and his 'boss' Zuvio. He would sit with impatience and generally look unhappy to be there, then again her always look unhappy or pissed at being places. Leaving his 'Transport' ship locked up in the spaceport he was not to worried about it's safety, but was still concerned about the corruption of the guards letting some jawa's in to steal it's thrusters.

"Zuvio, what is meeting for and who we are waiting for?" He would say in his gruff rather horse voice, one hand on the table, the other always ona blaster.

FOSD Manticore
Ord Mantell Orbit

Aloria grimaced sourly as the blue holo of Ord Mantell and its orbital patterns reflected in her burning, red eyes, her flag crew bustling around her to keep the fourteen ships of her small command perfectly locked into their rigid, defensive pattern. Forty thousand kilometres below them, the small blue sphere whipped past as Aloria's eyes danced between the status reports of each ship. Already, her Nebulons had their tractor beams fully charged and TIE squadrons prepared and the Vindictive's four grav-cones were warmed up and running, vectors already plotted should they need to protect the formation and clear the civilian shipping slipping in shoals hither and thither away from the most likely avenues of attack.

And as her smouldering eyes combed counter-spin from her cluster, Aloria noted the reason for her unease. A loose cluster of ships - mainly old Nebulon-Bs, with a few newer Coronas - was tailing the small First Order Fleet. Its mere presence was enough to worry Aloria, but the small clouds of starfighters buzzing around it were even more worrying. Those fighters were the main strength of that fleet and if they were out it meant that the Mantellian government was bracing itself for the worst. Something at the back of Aloria's mind probed at that fact while the rest of her focused on countering the potential problem they presented.

Aloria knew that the best course of action would be to have her weapons cold and shields down: Ord Mantell was a neutral world and they shouldn't be willing to attack the First Order for risk of New Republic help arriving too late to save their world. They weren't going to fight until the Order had proven its hostile intentions. But two factors prevented Aloria from following through with her first instinct. Externally, the Mantellian defence fleet had been shadowing with fighters deployed them since before they'd powered up their combat systems. That was too aggressive a move for simple posturing and far too aggressive for Aloria to simply ignore.

The second reason was the one which contributed most to the sour taste in her mouth. Her small command was acting as little more than a glorified taxi service to the lightsabre-wielding maniac who had taken one of her Upsilons to the planet's surface without so much as a by-your-leave. Pursing azure lips for a moment, Aloria let them curl a little as she considered the passengers she'd had to deal with over the past few days' journey. Not one of them had been willing to tell her what it was that they were actually here for and, despite her knowledge of their place in the Order's hierarchy, she was beginning to feel the growing urge to forcibly remove them from her ships.

Glancing across at the wildly gesticulating figure of Kyral, Aloria let a small smile flit over her lips, although it never quite reached her softly smouldering eyes. The Human was shaping up better than she'd been expecting him to - he was competent and delegated enough of his ship's workload down the chain of command that he could deal with the major issues personally. And that meant that Aloria didn't need to deal with the enormous logistical effort which keeping the Manticore combat-capable entailed. It also helped that he was slowly learning how to anticipate what Aloria was going to ask him to do, even if he wasn't able to figure out what was happening inside her head. Still, it was the best she could expect from a Human and she would take it.

"Now, why would the Mantellians be so eager to fight us now?" She asked the CIC softly, her voice swallowed up by the ambient noise, "What do they stand to gain...or lose?"

"Ma'am?" Kyral asked, glancing away from his work for a moment to look to the diminutive Chiss.

"They're threatening an engagement with us here. Why?" Aloria asked, before glancing to her Flag Captain, "Is there anything particularly suspect on sensors?"

"Nothing, Ma'am." Kyral replied after a moment's conference, "Just regular traffic. Nothing even travelling within engagement range of us."

"I see." Aloria mused, "I wonder if they've got a starfighter base hidden away somewhere. It would be reckless to try a close-in deceleration from lightspeed under normal conditions, but with a pair of Star Destroyers in close proximity to a planet? They might just try it."

With a swift motion, Ord Mantell's holo shrunk as the rest of the system appeared, dotted lines indicating where hyperspatial travel from various identified objects would land the attackers. After several seconds, Aloria shook her head and waved her hand once more, the small dot of Ord Mantell expanding once more to the size of a Human's head. For several long moments, incendiary eyes shifted from one position on the map to another in hungry search before once again appraising the fourteen-hull formation her ships had taken up. With a brisk nod to herself she turned back to Kyral, wry amusement twisting her blue lips.

"I can't see any way that they could have an advantage here." She said levelly, "Nor, for that matter, any other reason for them to be preparing to fight us. Can you, Captain?"

"No, Ma'am." Kyral replied after several seconds spent scrutinising the two clusters of ships.

"Then I wonder what we've missed." Aloria said, blazing eyes settling back on the holo, "Have the Mantellians decided to decide against us? Is there something else here?"

Her smile turned bitter for a moment as her eyes touched on the string of numbers indicating her Upsilon.

"And I wonder what our friends in the mask are trying to do here." She continued seamlessly, "And just how long it's going to take them to start hostilities."

Zuvio looked up as he was suddenly approached the casino was loud, the music playing while patrons of all species enjoyed drinks of all colors.

"Sit sit Valek, we have much to discuss," said Zuvio, his eye peering over his garments as usual.

Zuvio noted the Kaleesh pirate's entrance, his intimidating appearance being one Zuvio was not displaced by whatsoever he made sure to try and keep their meeting short. The casino was home to many thieves and traitors, ready to make the fastest credit they could, so could easily sell off the secrets of the Eternal Alliance.

"As you know the powers that continue to disrupt our galaxy have only increased their fighting. The Resistance claiming to act on behalf of the galaxy while this First Order wants to control it, neither must stand, but such has always been our mission. We have word that an artifact of the Galactic Empire is possibly here on Ord Mantell, or at least clues that could lead us to it. Should that not suffice, there are credits associated with finding it and if we can assemble some more coundrels we can find it and hide it from either side of the conflict," instructed Zuvio

Ord Mantell, Central Authority Building
The First Order

Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren had landed in what was a dusty and dreadful capital of Ord Mantell, the sheer number of people creating problems with traversing the area. The knights were instructed to find what they could, keeping an eye out for Resistance operations that could be taking place on the planet. Kylo on the other hand traveled with two First Order storm troopers and Flametroopers marched their way to the local Ord Mantell Central Authority building to meet with a local representative. The Central Authority had little actual legislative means and mostly just facilitated trade of larger ships and took in money to let local authorities look the other way. Upon arriving into the Overseer's office Kylo waved his hadn to fling away two guards who stood by the doors.

"I believe you have information we require," he said as the troopers raised their weapons.

"Come with us," he said as the regular troopers grabbed the Quarren Overseer by the arm and took him out of the room.

"Set this building ablaze, the confusion should clear the streets and make it easier for our search. I can sense power here, we must be close," said Kylo as the Flametroopers walked further into the room and readied their weapons. They both began to ignite files and wires that lay around the office in the hopes of starting an electrical fire, as sparks flew Kylo and the troopers could be easily seen from the steps of the government building. As he marched down with the emblazoned building people began to scatter in the streets, but not all, Ord Mantell was full of crooks and criminals and would therefore not be so easily swayed by a small groups attack. As Ren walked he activated his comm link, an ear piece used by him and all First Order to communicate among local areas.

"Knights, we must send a message to the fifth of this capital, I want charges set around whatever buildings you wish. We shall bring this planet down if we must, this artifact is that important," said Kylo, as he raised his hand to wield the force. With a simple motion he moved a pillar and brought it crashing down in front of him, creating a barrier towards the end of the steps to block of direct access to him and the stormtroopers who were with him.

Ohomm stealthily took the commlink and put it in his pocket. He knew what that meant and something that he knows about. It was dangerous being a Jedi after what happened and he had to keep a low profile. Luke had taught him how to hide himself in the force before he left the academy. Ohumm sensed disturbance in the Force and knew it was not good. Someone was here on Ord Mantell and maybe that reason is why that man gave him the commlink. Either way he needed to return to his room and see of they are more bounties available. He walked back to the his apartment and waited for the call from Cosinga.

Har Rann
Ord Mantell

Stepping out of the freighter, Har squinted in the sunlight. The Shistaven had evolved to have enhanced senses to help with hunting, which was certainly useful, but made it hard to adjust to light. Rubbing his eyes until his vision cleared, Har turned around and waved goodbye to the captain of the ship he had arrived in. He had been lucky to find a ship heading out to Ord Mantell, and even luckier that he was allowed to work for passage. Glancing around the bustling spaceport, Har felt the satchel the he always carried with with. Opening it, he glanced in and saw that he had his blaster pistol, dissembled rifle, and thermal detonators. On his belt under his cloak he carried his lightsaber.

Suddenly, Har paused. He sensed a disturbance in the Force. something big was happening. He started walking quickly, eager to find out what happened.

Kaer Dinus
Ord Mantell

With a sort of lull in the war between the Resistance and the First Order, many within the Resistance had let their guards down, and indeed many had taken trips across the galaxy to see new worlds. With a dutiful, almost uptight reputation within the Resistance ranks, Kaer Dinus had been practically forced to take a break from his duties, but nevertheless made his trip to Ord Mantell part of his job too, despite not being on an official mission. Ord Mantell had a reputation as a hub of crime and villainy, but to Kaer it was not much different from the atmosphere of espionage and backstabbing on his native Bothawui. Wearing casual clothes, but with a EL-16HFE blaster rifle on his back, Kaer half strolled and half patrolled through the Mantellian crowd. Suddenly a building burst into flames - Kaer's reaction was a mix of shock, adrenaline and excitedness at suddenly being back on the job. He spoke into his commlink to R5-P3, his personal astromech droid, who was waiting in T-70 X-wing in port.

"R5, send my coordinates to HQ...a building's just blown up here, and I've got a funny feeling..."

The flurry of beeps in reply cast doubt on Kaer's decision.

"I shouldn't be so rash? Come on R5, when have my instincts ever been wrong? When have Bothan instincts ever been wrong?"

The next few beeps were akin to a sigh and reluctant agreement. The Resistance would now be alerted to trouble on Ord Mantell.

Something twitched in Aloria's cheek as the holo flickered and she nodded slowly, locked into her stance with pastel-knuckled grip as her fingers curled over each other at the small of her back. Kyral took a small step away from his diminutive CO as she drew in a deep breath, shoulders rising a touch before slumping once again. Slowly uncurling her fingers from behind her back, Aloria flicked them through the holo and video feeds began to play. Explosions flared across more and more buildings as more videos flared open, cool blue flickering in smouldering red eyes as Aloria clenched and unclenched her jaw slowly. There it was.

"And so it begins." She sighed, glancing at the holo of the planet, "Have all fighters launched: I want our screen up as soon as possible. Signal the Vindictive to begin sweeping traffic away and transmit a warning across the system: anyone entering engagement range of the fleet within..."

For a moment she glanced at the holo and the still-accelerating mass of Frigates and fighters which were tearing towards them.

"Three minutes will be labelled as hostile and engaged." She finished, "Let's get this over with as soon as possible. Bring the Vindictive close to us: I want their hangar bay to be within fifty metres of ours. Keep our escorts outside of the firing line of our Star Destroyers, for now at least. Have them ready to pull in as soon as their fighters break through ours. Keep our fighters close to the ships and have the Vindictive pull grav-cone two three degrees towards the planet. Give them a chance to retreat if they want it."

"Aye aye, Ma'am." Kyral nodded briskly and within moments the man was barking his own commands and gesticulating at his own subordinates. Looking at the holo once more, Aloria shut away her burning eyes for a moment as she considered her options. After a brief moment's consideration she inclined her head, swallowed her pride and reached out to depress the button in the lip of the holotank. For a moment it flickered before an affirmative ping told her that her connection was secure. Wetting her lips with a darting tongue, Aloria opened her mouth, paused for a moment and spoke:

"Lord Ren." She said, "We are about to engage the Mantellian defence forces in orbit. Do you require any aid on the ground or shall the Knights prove sufficient for your needs?"

In the holo behind the small square which told her that her connection with the Supreme Leader's chosen protégé was active, a message lashed up. Scanning it for a moment, her lips compressed into a thin line of anger: someone down there had been a member of the New Republic from the looks of it. Someone with general alert codes too: they'd have a Resistance force on their backs within fifteen minutes. Swiping the message away with her left hand, she began to type rapidly before pausing and glancing at the square which indicated her link. It was Kylo's operation down there and the two Squadrons of TIEs she was considering sending down there were something she'd need up here...

"I can have two TIE squadrons and our AAL complement down there in two minutes." She continued seamlessly, "Someone down there has tripped the alert, so we're going to start bringing EW online to keep the planet quiet - for as long as possible, anyway. We can keep this line shielded, but its going to be Hell getting anyone down through that if they're under fire. If you want them, I'm ready to send them down to assist."

Delilah Mercer
Lady Fate Casino
Ord Mantell

Delilah Mercer was not an unassuming woman. For most people in her line of work this would be a disadvantage, as being memorable - even if you did not draw attention to yourself - would eventually result in passers-by and law enforcement showing an unhealthy interest in your business. Delilah's contingency for this eventuality was, like most everything else in her life decidedly straight-forward. To avoid the inquiries of curious locals, appear dangerous; to survive the inquiries of dangerous individuals, whether they are law enforcement or "extralegal parties", be dangerous. And Delilah had both down on lock.

From her oilcoat - impeccably cared for full-grain leather that displayed the wear of seventy-years as proudly as the flagship of any fleet - to her pair of pistols, a Glie-44 riding high on her right hip and her .45 Enforcer strapped across the left side of her chest. Add to that a Kylan-15 blaster rifle slung about her left side and hidden discretely beneath the length of her coat, though not so discretely as to go entirely unnoticed. To call her intimidating would be an understatement.

It was with affected carelessness that she approached the corner table occupied by Zuvio and Valek, dropping into a chair and propping her feet up on the table, allowing her oilcoat to fall open and display her weapons for the whole room to see.

Esselman wrote:"As you know the powers that continue to disrupt our galaxy have only increased their fighting. The Resistance claiming to act on behalf of the galaxy while this First Order wants to control it, neither must stand, but such has always been our mission. We have word that an artifact of the Galactic Empire is possibly here on Ord Mantell, or at least clues that could lead us to it. Should that not suffice, there are credits associated with finding it and if we can assemble some more scoundrels we can find it and hide it from either side of the conflict," instructed Zuvio

"That makes no sense, Zuvio," she cut in as Zuvio stopped talking. "If the Order or Resistance both want it, and we need to make sure that neither get it, then nobody should have it. I'm all for a payday, but I have standards. Better to blow the damn thing up, whatever it is."

"Hi, by the way. Long time, no see." Delilah's eyes flicked over to the Kaleesh sitting next to her, and she inclined her head a fraction in his direction. "Who's the kid?"

"I agree, destroy the item. And who you call kid, I am young yes, but I am no child." He would turn to Delilah as he gruffly said 'And'. "Above all we must stop Order from it, resistance will bee less of problem, order fleet in orbit, smuggling off world harder now that means more time to collect our prize and burn it. Or whatever other disposal method you choose... Zurvo, what detail on the item, big or small, coloration, area to search for?" He would have this rather impatient look on under his mask, as if he would rather be anywhere but the casino, seeming rather concerned about the seedier crowed in the building. "And one more, why do both want it, why it so important, and if not know, answers who do you best know has them?" He would look to them and wait for an answer to his questions, weather he gets the information he needs or nothing he would wait for them to respond.

Ord Mantell

Lady Fate Casino
Constable Zuvio

"Mercer! Meet Agent Valek," he said, his voice slightly scruffy and muffled as usual.

"I agree with your ideals, as usual, but this artifact still remains an unknown. If we can secure it we can decide what to do later on, for now we still have some time to finalize our plans. Here-" Zuvio said, reaching into a knapsack to retrieve a handful of datapads, all dusty and seemingly disorganized at first.

"I have marked a set of planets that the item could be on, ones the Imperials kept on file for their 'potential' and even marked as items of interest. Unfortunately most reside in First Order operation space, except the rock we're on now," he said handing each of them a datapad.

"Now I called in more men on this job, wonder what's holding them..." he said as the building developed a slight rumble from events not too far from the casino.

"Valek I believe the Order wants it as some sort of symbol, while the Resistance wants it merely because the Order seeks it. Though I could be wrong as i am unsure of what the damned thing is, weapon, clothing, scrap, who knows. The sooner we can find it the better though. On these datapads the planets identified have encrypted data on what those Imperials knew about the planet or wanted with it. Unfortunately going there would serve our best bet as we could find some old Imperial outposts or abandoned tech to try and salvage," said the constable as he put away the extra datapads.

Fort Garnik
The Resistance

"Reporting in Admiral, we've got signal from Dinus of First Order activity, they've got orbit though," said a Resistance officer trying to make use of the old Republic terminals found in the fortress.

"Send in our air units to draw fire, we can fly them over the capital and draw attention to our presence," said the Admiral.

"Sir, if we do that, why not send them to orbit as well?" asked the officer

"As I said, they've got Orbit, we can send those fighters to distract them and have them jump to lightspeed. Those Imperials will think we got there item, leaving the majority of our forces hear at the fort, now let's get to it!"

"On it sir. And it's First Order now Ackbar," replied the officer

"Whatever they're called, the results will be the same!" said Admiral Ackbar slowly spinning around in a half rusted chair.

First Order

Ren received the message from the star destroyer in the planets orbit and immediately replied,

"Proceed, I want the Mantellians in a frenzy," said Ren as he made his way further down the steps.

He suddenly took a look around, sensing a degree of the force he was not accustomed to. Jedi? No, impossible he thought to himself, it was the first moment of conflicting emotions he felt since his decision to turn on the Jedi Order. Yet in his falling he had yet to remember, let alone think twice, about the Jedi who were there and if they had lived. Even then so he had yet to encounter anyone from those days beyond the Knights of Ren for which he now was completely involved. Kylo began his walk into the streets, seeking out these movements and apparitions that moved the force around him. There was great power here, and perhaps the artefact he sought drew them here as well, perhaps they would want it. No! he quietly thought, his anger beginning to rise slightly.

"Troopers, keep your blasters ready, there are dangerous not far from us," he said to them as he looked over to his far right and saw a blinking sign that read: Lady Fate Casino

"There."

Njad Sho'lan, "Mandalore The Rebuilder"

Ord Mantell
Deep in the catacombs under Worlport
An hour or so ago…
Njad put the last of the rubble blocking his way to the side. Finally, he could enter the tomb. After sliding through the small crevice he would come to a small tomb, the only light would be the light on Njad's shoulder. He could see that the room was very small, and barren. In the middle of the room was a small step with a sarcophagus on top. Njad approached the sarcophagus, each step creating small dust clouds around his feet.

Njad after stepping onto the small platform placed his right hand on the sarcophagus and swiped to the left, removing the dirt. While the sarcophagus had been originally used for some old civilization on Ord Mantell he saw the Death Watch symbol had been engraved in the stone. Njad then placed both of his hands on the lid and pushed, after many minutes he finally got the lid to go off and collapse to the ground with a massive thud, causing a storm of dirt to go into the air.

Njad wiped the dust from his visor and gazed into the sarcophagus. Inside he saw a shriveled body, wearing battle torn Neo-Crusader Mandalorian armor. On his face was what Njad had come for, a mask. However this was not just any mask, it was the mask of Mandalore. Njad gently removed the mask from the corpse and after getting the mask off he would place it in the satchel on his back. Njad would look down at the decomposed face, silently watching it for a few moments before heading for the crevice he had slid through.

An alley just outside the Lady Fate Casino
Njad would finally climb out the small hole he had made next to the building, where he would see his brother waiting with Njad's jet pack. Thrux approached Njad once he heard from climb out. "Mandalore, did you find it?" Thrux spoke through his helmet.

"I did, brother. Anything to report?" Njad replied removing the bag and placing his jet pack on himself.

"Yes, Mandalore. The First Order has arrived with a small fleet in orbit, it might be slightly harder to leave. Nothing we cannot handle, however."

"Good, quickly go prep the ship. I do not want any other hands reaching this tomb." Njad said as he pulled out two thermal detonators. Njad then would hand Thrux the bag with the mask, however he would pull back once Thrux grabbed a strap. "Brother, I trust you. Do not fail me." Njad snapped and released the bag. Thrux nodded and took off down the alley and make his way towards the hangar containing their Fire-Spray 31

Njad would find a window, and leaning against the wall next to it. He would pull out one thermal detonator in his left hand and one of his Westar blaster pistols in his right. He would smash the window and proceed to toss the detonator in, quickly following up with the second one. Even though the detonators wouldn't be enough fire power to bring the entire building down instantly it would be enough to destabilize it and eventually lead to its collapse.

Njad would then activate his jet pack and take off for one of the neighboring building's roof to avoid the blast. Once on the roof he would pull out a detonator and press the button causing the thermal charges he had placed in the tomb to go off. Through his helmet he smiled, everything was working well and the distraction from the building should give him enough time to escape the planet.

CIC
FOSD Manticore
Ord Mantell Orbit

Kylo's response was curt and to the point and Aloria was glad of that. With a nod he would never see and a brief confirmation, Aloria cut the link to the ground. They were taking the planet...or razing it. Burning eyes narrowed as she considered which one it was most likely to be before a small sigh and toss of the head indicated that she'd reached her answer. The concept of "restraint" was one which the Knights had never really managed to understand and she doubted that they would learn it here. With a quick motion she brought up a new communication link and spoke into it:

"Major Deasra, you are cleared for full ground invasion." She said smoothly, "I've detailed both of our Squadrons to cover you as you put down. LZ kilo-fifteen, landing strategy Romeo."

"Understood, Ma'am." Deasra's harsh voice barked in reply, "We'll have the AALs out in thirty seconds."

"Good." Aloria nodded, numbers running through her head. She had...two minutes until the first wave of Mantellian starfighters reached engagement range of her Carracks and perhaps fifteen seconds more before they were capable of effectively opening fire themselves. Glancing into the holo for a moment more, burning eyes widened as the enemy formation registered. Glancing across the holo as a whole, fingers flickered and another commline opened up. Running her calculations again, white teeth flashed before Aloria spoke again.

"Kerren, I need you to detail Echo and Bravo squadrons to covering our flank - other side of us from the planet." She ordered, "Kyral! Have all forward batteries open fire as soon as the enemy starfighters break off! Target their approach vector, not their breakaway vector and tell the Vindictive to do the same!"

"Aye aye, Ma'am!" Kyral nodded briskly and then he was turned away again.

Watching in the holo, Aloria's eyes followed the enemy fighters as Deasra's voice crackled over her commline. The numbers were a little out, she realised, but she could wait for a little. After all, the Manticore's fighters still needed to launch and she didn't want them have to catch up with the AAL's once they were on the way down. With a brief word, she informed Deasra to remain where he was as the enemy fighters continued to close. And, with the greater resolution closer range afforded, Aloria could see the slight flickers in the fighters' exhaust. It was a good plan, but their follow-up ships were just a little too large and slow - the old V-wings if Aloria had to guess.

"Kyral." She ordered, eyes glimmering coolly, "Have the Vindictive swing grav-cone four around twice on my mark. Compensate your firing arcs appropriately."

"Yes, Ma'am." Kyral nodded, frowning slightly, "May I ask...why?"

"We don't have the time to escort our AALs all the way down." Aloria shrugged, eye flickering breifly to the holo, "I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. Transmit to the Vindictive: three...two...one...mark!"

Slowly, ponderously, the Star Destroyer's grav cone began to swing around, opening up a section of space to hyperspace travel as it did so. Continuing around, the edge of the cone snagged against the AALs and their escort and, without a moment's pause, they were sailing down towards the planet below. Following through once more, the grav-cone's ponderous arc intersected with the front line of fighters as they broke off to either side of the First Order fleet, attempting to flank the ships, before they were hurled off to one side, away from the planet. Kerren must have figured out what was happening, because Echo and Bravo Squadrons were in amongst the disorientated and disorganised fighters almost immediately.

And the twelve BLT Y-wing bombers they'd been attempting to hide in their exhaust trail were immediately faced with a crimson sheet of turbolaser fire as the Manticore and Vindictive unloaded their full firepower against the twelve starfighters. It was over as soon as it had started: the y-wings had been gunning their engines and their momentum had been sorely overcommitted. They couldn't manoeuvre and their meagre shields couldn't possibly stand up to the capital-grade firepower directed against them. With a small smile, Aloria nodded to herself as the last bomber died.

"A good attempt." She nodded, "Kerren, bring Echo and Bravo Squadron back into screening formation. Kyral, signal to our adversaries. Inform them that, should they choose, they can retreat at any time. And have the Vindictive spread her grav-cones."

Glancing at the holo once more, smouldering eyes widened as something popped up. Tapping on it and enlarging the image, her eyes collapsed from wide as saucers to narrow slits in the space of a moment. Those weren't just any old fighters, were they? Opening up dozens of new windows, Aloria's eyes scanned the video feeds of the new arrivals with disdain. So...the Resistance was here. That explained a lot, like the Mantellians' willingness to get themselves killed. They had been helping the Resistance from before she'd arrived here.

She should have guessed it before now, she thought bitterly, but then again, hindsight was perfect. In the holo, she saw a group of fighters tearing out of the atmosphere before jumping to hyperspace and departing the system as soon as they were out of the gravity well. Tapping her chin thoughtfully, Aloria considered. What purpose could that serve? They weren't trying to cut their losses - unless the fighters over the capital had been stolen - so they must have been trying to protect something...or perhaps someone... Mentally resolving to have a look at those coordinates later, she reached forward and opened the commlink once more.

"Lord Ren." She said, "The Resistance is on Ord Mantell. I don't know what they've got down there, so be careful: my men will be with you in...a minute and a half, and they'll have air support with them. I'm going to need to deal with the Mantellians up here before I can aid you any more than that, I'm afraid."

Finishing her report, Aloria glanced back up at the holo. The Mantellian ships were still closing with them, their somewhat-depleted swarm of starfighters reforming around their ships. Inclining her head, Aloria could see their plan: they were trying to turn the battle into a close-in brawl where their smaller ships could get into the rear quarters of her Star Destroyers. And, with her promise that they could retreat at any time, they were assuming that she had bound her box of tricks down to almost nothing: no precision hyperspace jumps, no trapping them here, no dragging them around.

They were in for a surprise.

Glancing around the masses of people, Har cursed quietly under his breath. As much as he wanted to find out what had happened, he didn't have time. he had come to Ord Mantell to meet with other members of the Alliance, and he didn't know how long they would be around. He had to hurry. Har took off at a light jog, nudging people in the crowd out of his way. As he went, he thought back to why he had joined the eternal Alliance in the first place. The day he finally learned how to harness the Force effectively was easily the happiest day of his life. After that moment, things seemed to come much more easily to him. He became a dangerous opponent to face, whether he was fighting using the Force, his lightsaber, a blaster, or his own body. With those skills, joining the Resistance to search for Luke Skywalker seemed to be the easy choice.

That changed when a Resistance pilot attacked his mother. She hadn't been seriously injured, and the pilot later apologized profusely, claiming that he had be drunk at the time, but Har couldn't forgive the Resistance. His path seemed to take a dark turn, and he began to search out the First Order, eager to offer his services. It was due to his mentor's interference that he avoided joining. His mentor, Darnic, reminded him of the Order's crimes, and pointed him to a group that found a middle way between the Resistance and the First Order. Not content with serving the employers of the man who assaulted his mother, or the people who executed the innocent of a wide scale, Har joined the Eternal Alliance.

Har halted suddenly. His wandering had brought him to the door of the Lady Fate Casino. Taking a breath, he entered and saw a small group of his fellow conspirators talking. He gave a friendly smile and a wave, and opened his mouth to speak. Before he could say anything, there was the sound of shattering glass. Turning quickly, Har saw two metal orbs enter building, and drop the to the ground. He knew instantly what they were, and how much destruction they could cause. Instinctively, he raised an arm, and blasted the thermal detonators out the window. A split second later, two explosions wet off outside the building, rattling the everything inside. before he had a chance to recover, a much larger blast tore a hole into the floor of the casino and knocked Har of his feet. Leaping up immediately, Har grabbed his lightsaber off his belt and activated it, holding the purple blade in front of him in a defensive stance. He called out to the others of the casino.
"Is everyone alright?"

Ord Mantell
Ohomm Sukdenz

Ohomm was in his apartment looking at bounty when he saw news of the explosion hit the holonet. He began to worry about the what that could mean and thought it may have to do with the disturbance that he felt earlier. He did not take the chance and started to back up his things. He thought the use the commlink that the human had given him to talk about a plan or a meeting point. But, decided to wait till he was ready to move and went back to gathering his things.

Ord Manrell
Fort Garnik
Dronas Dace

Dronas was walking to Resistance command center was making his way though the crowds. The large crowds had proved to slowed him down from reaching the command center. Despite this not being a official mission he was called in regardless and treated this was a official mission. More so after hearing about a building being blown up. He came fully equip with his commando gear and after some time entered the command center. He walked in and said, "Dronas Dace reporting for duty Admiral". He saluted Admiral Ackbar and stood at the ready.

Mechanist Combine wrote:"I agree, destroy the item. And who you call kid, I am young yes, but I am no child."
*snip*

Delilah snorted softly, absently cleaning her nails with a toothpick. "Nothing personal kid, but there aren't many species that live longer than mine, and yours isn't one of them."
Esselman wrote:"Mercer! Meet Agent Valek," he said, his voice slightly scruffy and muffled as usual.
"I agree with your ideals, as usual, but this artifact still remains an unknown. If we can secure it we can decide what to do later on, for now we still have some time to finalize our plans.

Unfortunately going there would serve our best bet as we could find some old Imperial outposts or abandoned tech to try and salvage," said the constable as he put away the extra datapads.

Delilah tensed at the faint tremor that ran through the casino. A quick scan of the room told her that no other patrons had reacted it, being too inebriated or focused on their gambling to notice. Out of habit her hands went to check the safeties of her weapons, though her attention remained on Zuvio and Valek.

When Zuvio handed her one of the decrepit datapads her upper lip curled in disgust; taking her personal unit out she copied the contents of the other datapad into a sandbox, before pushing the filth covered square of plastic back into Zuvio's hands with a single finger, as though it was infected with plague.

"Would it kill you to tidy these things up before you hand them out, Zuvio? The seedy bars I understand, but this is just laziness. Professional pride still matters.

Delilah opened the files and scanned through them, noting their names, their locations, and cross referencing that with what she knew of the First Order's fleets and trooper compliments. None of the planets had permanent detachments assigned to them, though most of them did have units which rotated through on a semi-regular basis. Getting access wouldn't be particularly difficult; taking the right contract with the First Order would give her a legitimate reason to travel through their territory. So long as she was careful about hiding her true intentions, she would be able to locate and destroy this item of interest without raising a single red flag.

Leaping up immediately, Har grabbed his lightsaber off his belt and activated it, holding the purple blade in front of him in a defensive stance.

When the windows shattered Delilah acted immediately, rising up from the table in one smooth motion and shouldering her rifle. As quickly as the two thermal detonators entered the room they were tossed back outside, never so much as touching the floor;l and though they detonated outside, too far away to harm anyone in the building, a secondary explosion rumbled below her feet, and half of the casino floor went tumbling into a crater. A purple glow erupted from the far end of the room, and the signature hum of magnetically contained plasma joined the cries of fear and pain that were sounding from every corner of the Lady Fate Casino.

Delilah began cursing liberally as she picked her way over broken glass and splintered wood, towards the gaping hole in the outer wall made by the thermal detonators. There was nothing low-profile about a lightsaber, and whomever had decided to use theirs just now had all but guaranteed that Ord Mantell would be subject to a raid by First Order forces, if it wasn't happening already. Order troops did not normally open with wanton civilian casualties, but if they were attempting to capture the force-wielder alive then they could do worse than forcing a surrender by threatening innocents.

But this was not her fight, and she had no intention of getting caught up in a squabble between the First Order and a wanna-be Jedi. Exiting the scene via the garbage strewn back alley, Delilah began high-tailing it back to her ship, keying it's pre-flight sequence from her datapad as she elbowed her way through the panicked crowds.

Lady Fate Casino

Constable Zuvio

"Damned planet!" Zuvio said as he ducked beneath the table, knocking it over to create a barrier from an impending detonator.

In the dismay that continued, the sounds of screams and explosions filled the air as the shattered windows allowed in the sound. The music turned to sounds of terror and in the short distance Zuvio could see a saber's glow was being emitted from the main doorway of the casino.

"We've got no time for this! Mercer, Valek, on with you!" he instructed them.

The nearby spaceport held their ships no doubt and Zuvio had only gotten here by charter so could dissapear into the masses of people upon Ord Mantell

"We need to get off this blasted planet as soon as possible!" he shouted

Kylo Ren

The glow of Har's lightsaber through the wide open doors caught the attention of Kylo immediately. Through his mask his eyes widened, and the grip on his lightsaber tightened.

"Jedi!" shouted Kylo from roughly a hundred feet away.

"You shouldn't have come here," he said as the first order troopers to his left and right kept their blasters raised.

Fort Garnik

As Admiral Ackbar began to stand he noted the entrance of Dronas, and quickly waved him over to the group of Resistance officers.

"The space battle is intensifying, and the Mantellian defenses will not stand against Imperials of that measure. We need to get off of the planet by any means, luckily we have firepower. To the hangar!" he said as the group began to move to a large yet dark hangar made of rock carved structures and filled with crumbling features. In the center sat Home One, the legendary ship of the Rebellion that was officially out of commission by the Rebel Alliance and quickly becoming a relic of the war.

"Our capital ship will no doubt be a surprise. Once we get into the upper atmosphere, we will be the main target of the star destroyer above," said the Admiral, as he turned to Dronas.

"Are you with us, we might send you aboard an X-Wing so be at the ready," said Ackbar as the group boarded. Among the fort various forces rushed around carrying equipment and gear to prepare for launch. The Resistance had coordinated ten X-Wings, 2 of which would be on board the capital ship leaving the other 8 as escort. As the roar of the capital ships engines began, the T-70 X-wing fighters took off.

Squad AA, standing for the admiral for which they protected began their flight. Squad Leader led them directly above the capital city where Kylo Ren had been causing destruction while other rouges infiltrated the area. As they roared over head Kylo noted them but was too focused on the jedi before him to report it in.
Squad AA reached orbit and immediately diverted into two sets of the 4 fighters, splitting the laser cannon focus of the First Order's capital ship. Back at the fort, the Admiral's capital ship would soon begin its launch and needed time that so far only the X-wing's were providing.

Har raised his lightsaber into a more aggressive stance, and bared his teeth. His eyes flashed with with anger, and Har thought about his current situation. Kylo Ren blocked his entrance, supported by First Order troopers. The only way out was through them, not that Har minded. He had heard of Kylo's past crimes, and Har was grateful for the chance to fight the fallen Jedi. He was prepared to give his life, if needed.

Har let out a low growl, and spoke. "I'm no Jedi. I'm also no lover of your blasted First Order. What I am, is the one who will kill you!" With that, he swung his left arm forward, allowing the Force to propel a large table through the air toward Kylo and his troopers.

Dronas followed the group to the hanger and replied to the admiral. "Yes I am with you admiral and I do have some training with star fighters". "If you need me I can pilot a X-wing if that is needed". He continued to follow the admiral's group and asked, "Sir, should we just let the First Order have the artifact if they want to this much? Though Dronas seem calm, he was secretly excited that he was in the legendary Home One. He did not show this and remain at the ready.
