Preliminary Round 2

Postby Neo Rome Republic » Thu Nov 03, 2016 9:14 pm

Premise: You are trying to appeal to the working class of this country. You don't know too much about them currently, except that they tend to be fiscally leftist and socially conservative. That is the premise that you must go on for this round.

The catch is that for Low risk actions you can only have a maximum limit of 100 words, Medium Risk actions 150 words, and High Risk 200 words.

Low Risk Action Criteria Ex: Petition, social media, and local meetings.

Medium Risk Action Criteria Ex: Badmouthing other party's, city square rally, vulgar and provocative language.

High Risk Action Criteria Ex: Riots, sit-ins, strikes, lockouts, calling a party leader out, any size or statement endorsing violence against an opposing party or particular group of people, any size meeting that involves promoting discrimination of a particular group.

How many positive or negative points you received last round detracts or adds that many words you can add or have to detract from using in any one of yours posts

Ex: If you got +2 points each poster has the option of using two more words than the normal limit would allow, 4 more words if +4, 6 more if +6, etc. Meaning you have the option to use as many extra words in relation to how many positive points you have. It is NOT mandatory if you wish to stick to the normal limit, you obviously can.

If you have negative points you have to use detract that from the limit, so if the limit is 100 words for minimum risk, and you had -4 last round, you can only use 96 words, or if its medium risk 144 words, of if high risk 196 words. The penalty remains the same for each action you take. If you have -4 you must use 4 less words than would normally be permitted in each of your actions.

If anyone were to have 0 points last round, they'd simply have to stick to the normal limit when writing out their posts.

[Action 1]

The Christian Conservative's Union continued forming local ties, they ramped up their activity, holding progressively more rallies, stressing the increasing degeneracy of society, chiefly among them, traditional marriage, and abortion. The party also stressed the possible horrid effects of a large state, the loss of rights, oppression, and the forced acceptance of other's life styles, as to not hurt their feelings, 'hate speech' laws.

[64 words]

[Action 2]

During a major rally, Steffen Königer took a calculated risk, he began to go on the offensive.

Königer began, "People of the nation, I would like to bring a certain organization to our attention, known as the Peace through Enlightenment party. They say, and I quote in their advertisements, 'We strive for all citizens to reach Nirvana.' Let me ask you, what is Nirvana, it isn't a Christian concept is it, and this party doesn't seem to give you any options, are you willing to give up your religious freedom to the government so they can tell you what's best? They fear our individual freedoms, they deplore them, because if you knew the full truth, if you knew what they were, this party would have no support, they only want to control the good hard-working class, moral in nature, with their devious intentions of destroying the greatness of this nation, our ability to coexist."

[154 words]

[Action 3]

The CCU has begun to mass mail brochures, and pamphlets, in support of their party, the most notable including phrases like "With one vote, you can save the lives of millions of children", and "Save the nation from moral degeneracy", "Trust in the CCU, for they trust in God". Hopefully enough people still read their own mail for this to make a difference, however this should hit an older demographic, which more than likely are more socially conservative, than the younger working class.

Progressive Democratic Party

Action 1

The Party launches a social media campaign to increase its presence and ability to interact with voters. Bleeter and Blankbook accounts and pages are set up by the Party, along with a dedicated social media coordinator position. The Blankbook page is mostly used to state the party line on various issues and post propaganda. The official Bleeter account, however, is set up with the express purpose of interacting with voters. This move is designed to help spread the party's message, and explain various party stances or answer questions from voters.

[90 words]

Action 2

The Party decides to hold town-hall meetings with local communities in order to spread their message. The party's leaning of fiscal conservatism would not go over well with the working class's leftist leanings on economic issues, so the party decides to focus on their social centrism as their main selling point. The party particularly focuses on its opposition to gun control and its support of social security as the keystones of their social centrism. Each town hall meeting is a free public event, and it features a short speech by the local candidate, then a question-and-answer segment with the crowd.

[100 words]

Action 3

The party opts for another round of posters and signage in workplaces. Volunteers are given boxes of flyers to post up throughout their workplace. The flyers state: "Tired of the Government telling you how to live your life? When all else fails, we'll be there. Support the P.D.P." The flyers are designed to appeal to the working class's support of social conservatism by promoting the idea of the PDP as a force that wouldn't intrude on your life, while downplaying the party's fiscal conservatism.

The Common Science League

Action 1:
The CSL has determined that the current strategy of appealing to the people is working rather well, and should therefore be continued. To that end, the party has set up official social media accounts on several of the most popular sites. They maintainers of the accounts have been directed to regularly post basic statistics about how the CSL's policies will help the working people and economy, and pithy quotes related to science and education.

Action 2:
In order to both get the parties message out to the people, as well as to promote the parties ideals on a local level, the CSL has begun passing around petitions in various cities and towns. This is so far being restricted to cities and towns in which the CSL already has significant membership in order to ensure an active base of support. Some topics covered by the petitions include: increased funding for education, technical training, infrastructure development, among others. Those passing around the petitions have been provided knowledge about the relevant topics.

Action 3:
After getting and receiving the proper permits, the Common Science League has staged a rally in a public area of the Capital. The intent is to get onto the news in order to spread the word of the parties existence, as well as its policies to the working people of the country. The leader of the CSL had this to say: "My fellow citizens of this country. For too long have we labored in the shadow of more powerful, richer nations. They run circles around us with their technological creations, and their scientific discoveries. It is time that our nation do that for our country. This is what the Common Science League stands for. Join with us to make your present and your children's future a better place. Thank You."

Summary:
Action 1: Low-risk, 74/104 words used
Action 2: Low-risk, 93/104 words used

The Prosperity Party

Postby Sartre-Camus » Sun Nov 13, 2016 9:21 pm

Action 1:
The party is releasing its platform on economic policy. There is a focus on a capital gains tax in order to end loopholes. Furthermore, there is a platform to spend 150bn dollars on nuclear energy development with programmes to train workers and construct them, with promising job growth and promotion of energy security. Further, there is a proposition that healthcare companies be forced to compete in a national exchange, rather than allowing them to choose which local exchanges to participate in to end monopolies. As a part of future plans for policy, the party will prepare to submit its full platform to economic faculties around the world seeking endorsements.

Medium Risk: 109 words
