This is a true point, but everyone else I know in this RP have failed me ;-:

I don't really get the affinity with the Waffen SS. Yeah they weren't directly involved with the Holocaust, but that doesn't mean they weren't all sunshine and rainbows in comparison. Not wanting to get into a big discussion about it, but it seems very out-of-place.

That's sort of the main thing about it, everyone had thought that simply because a branch of the SS did it, that the entire SS is responsible. There has been a lot of debate whether the Waffen SS was apart of the crimes (I agree though, they weren't all sunshine, as anyone who joined the SS were the true believers of Nationalist Socialism, except those late war conscripts, they were innocent),

I simply believe they were the normal soldier branch of the SS, so weren't involved in rounding up Jews (that would go to the Einsatzgruppen, SS-Totenkopfverbände, and the overall Allegmein SS, and they were the guys dressed in black, so I have the feeling I just made a racist comment)

That's just belief, and like what Monfrox said, let's just leave it at that

Moral Alignment: Neutral (leaning to good, however has a darkside to say to him)

Biography: Adler was not in the best of situations during his birth. He's grandfather had long rumoured to have once been a part of the Waffen SS, however Adler never believed that for sometime. Further worse, his father had once been apart of the Socialist Reich Party, and was apart of the National Democratic Party of Germany. Because of his supposedly Neo-Nazi Past, Adler was bullied at school, often being called "Fascist Pig" or "Nazi Idiot". In 1980, his father died and his mother disappeared, and during his time attempting to find things to sell, Adler stumbled upon a secret compartment in his grandfather's room (his grandfather lived with him), finding confirmation that he was once a Hauptmann in the Waffen SS.

In 1985, Adler join the Bundeswehr (it's a fact that Adler had a very militaristic history, for example, his grandfather was apart of the Waffen SS in WW2, his Great Grandfather was apart of the Imperial German Army in WW1, and other unknown ancestors were apart of the Prussian and Austrian Army during the Napoleonic Wars), where he had wanted to join the Armoured Corp, but was much more suited to the main infantry. He first faced combat in the Ethiopian Civil War, where he was deployed until 1990. He was then deployed to the Sierra Leone Civil War until 1995, both turning him into a veteran soldier. In 1996, he was transfered to the KSK because of experience and so eliteness in both wars (and perhaps for talking rude towards an officer). In 1997, he took part in Operation Libelle, helping evacuating the civilians. He was put in reserve, until 2001, where he served as both KSK and normal infantry in the Afghan War, which was what really gave him some recognition, and where he performed some impressive achievements.

After the war ended, he joined the war against ISIS, now being an extremely elite and disciplined soldier. He would've stayed in the middle east against ISIS, that is until he heard of the situation in Sweden, and how they were going to send a UN force into the Gate. Adler, by now tired of the Middle East and overall the area, as it was no longer that thrilling to him, asked for a transfer to the UN force that was to be sent into the portal, he was granted.

Personality: Adler is a relatively heartless man (being bullied in his childhood, and serving for most of your life does that to you), not really ever caring about the suffering of others (of course he wants to help, it's his job, it's just that he doesn't care whether they die or not). He's number one concern is usually discipline, however, he does have a sense of fun and humour, often willing to cooperate with soldiers socially, liking to talk or play cards. He doesn't mind blood or anything like that (again, long war service).

Likes: Officers who actually cooperate with soldiers, you know, the people's type. Games. Efficiency. Fellow veterans who understand war like he does. Muslims, exploring other cultures, machinery (remember, he had wanted to apply as a tankman), reading, singing

Dislikes: Communists, Stalinists, Right Wing Extremists, Left Wing Extremists, rascism
