Screw it. Decided on signing it - only because WAC was such a disaster of a bill as-it-is, by doing things that she did not exactly intended it to do.

This new bill will pretty much do the same things as WAC, but it will ensure that PP won't be forced to shut down via established, scheduled reductions of funding.

Definitely a more palatable version of WAC. Not a win to be had in any of this, but it does make it less of an issue.

Hoo boy. This is suuper dicey. If word gets out that the WAC is being repealed and replaced with a replacement written bythe spicy latina her face is going to be in every political ad the Green Party runs.

But no one knows about it. So its basically in the Latina's hands now. Which I guess will show us how partisan/vengeful/political minded she is. Big.

Ohhh, wait, but Sen. Maxwell is involved. That changes things big league. They seem to really hate each other. She could maybe use that to try to take him down and he wouldn't even know.

But she seems to be trying to soften, and she had that whole religious angle a while back, which could hold her back.

A bill that sought to cut PP's funding would still be crucified by the Democrats. PP doesn't just perform abortions, you know, and they will cry foul again. You may have one or two Blue Dogs supporting it, but that's it. Most support would come from Congressional Republicans, and the President would probably have to veto that bill in order to recover from the initial controversy surrounding WAC.

Remember that it would actually be restoring that funding temporarily. The funding has been cut for months already.

Not according to what ImpEsp said in the OOC. Cutting less funding over an extended period of time is still cutting funding.

The bill itself nuked all funding immediately. Carrollton I think proposed a bill to set a timetable but that failed. I don't know what was said in teh OOC.

I just can't wait to hear people getting all impassioned and firery about a bill named freaking Whac a mole

"The woman must always have the right to her own body! Whac A Mole is going to destroy this nations!"

"It's unconscionable for our taxpayer dollars to fund the killing of babies! Whac A mole is the only path forward!"

"Please, everyone, I am sure that there are parts of Whac A Mole that both sides can agree on!"

What was with that speech? I just read ImEsp's post, so I can now post Maxwell's speech. It also jumped, like, three people including the keynote.
