I'm assuming, you'd be using new characters? You were in this a long time ago, and after a prolonged absence, I by executive fiat determined that your old characters had gone off somewhere and had become tour guides...

But they will most likely return...

You're certainly welcome to bring them back. Could be an interesting wrinkle.

Speaking of which, you know what we should do? After this arc, start the next one with some downtime. What do our heroes do in their spare time? (Or for enough money to be able to live in a cheap flat and eat some cup-o-noodles.) How do they adapt with their powers?

I'd be ok with this. Especially because, as many of you know, I'm going to be gone for about three weeks due to an upcoming visit to Germany (I begin in the early part of June. More info to come). This idea sounds like a very good thing for players to be involved in in my absence.

Another thing (I've been reading the old IC) I thought it was pretty funny when Nightshade contacted the Minnesota Infinites to tell them there was an actual super villain to fight. Actually, a lot of how Captain Calculator hated his life. And then there was the conspiracy theory, soda-sponsored, Ninja: Fruit Passion! He was pretty funny. So, just some stuff from the old IC.

So, I'm just going to briefly look over the massive dump of posts that happened over the weekend. From what I saw, not much happened, but we're there. I'll get a post up.
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.

And PUN-isher is back! Man, the old gang is getting back together!

I know exactly my next post. And it makes it even better that PUN-isher is back, because Glitch is going to be the one talking.

Haha!

Any of the villains want to respond / react to the text message Mr. Big sent out?

Yeah, I know. I was meaning other villains who hadn't responded. I'll try to have a post up maybe tonight, but at the least in 20 hours or so.

Guys -

BIG plot advancement post. We have all moved up to the 45th floor. (Those of you who were interested in returning and hadn't posted in awhile, you will be there too).

The schemes of Mr. Big will soon be explained. And the world trembles.

So, any guesses as to what Mr. Big has been planning this whole arc? Anyone have any theories we can bring out into the open before it actually is revealed what he was doing?

Well... Here's the first chapter. :D Chapter 1 - The Bomb Squad and Cattle Rustlers

Long and short - the heroes were warned about a bomb threat that was going to blow up the city. But it was a ruse, simply to lure the heroes into a trap, to fight the Can-Can Man. The villains were hired by Mr. Big to guard Matthew the PUN-isher who accidentally went to the wrong meeting, and the Siamese twins rescued him. Then the villains were told to steal 50 cows. And they got shot at by an angry farmer with a shotgun. They couldn't do it, but somehow Mr. Big ended up with cows anyway and he docked the villains' salary that he was going to pay them.

*raises hand* Does it involve taking over Minnesota? Or making McDonald's the only legal restaurant in the world?

No real test. But if you want to send in a character concept, that's one way. Also, if you or anyone wants something to be funny and you don't have any ideas, I can usually come up with something.

We're wrapping up this arc soon, but we're starting a whole new arc in a month or so. You could join in immediately, I'm sure, though! Talchyon is usually really good about adding new recruits.

Finished

Postby Zanera » Sat May 20, 2017 1:29 pm

Name: Bob Jack
Codename: Pill-OW!
Age: 35
Sex: Male
Appearance: About average Minnesota-an height, 5 to six foot something. 152 pounds. Caucasian with a poor workout routine, his superhero outfit is white spandex, and he wears a cushy pillow strapped to his frontside and to his backside. Has purple gloves and boots, and wears a woman's sleeping mask with the eyes poked out.
Bio: Bob did not have these powers as a child, nor as a young adult. Bob went into plumbing, and this era is as boring as his early years. Eventually, though, he found himself mucking around in a flood in a bathroom with a cast-iron tub. Eventually, he slipped and fell, but a pillow suddenly appeared under his head to keep him fro conking out in the middle of a flooded bathroom. He found this to be the realiszation of his secret powers, and he started annoying his neighbors aiding those in need. He eventually was able to save a kitten from a tree using his powers. After this, he thought himself worthy of the Minnesota Infinites. The rest is current history.
Powers: Can pull pillows out of a alternate universe of infinite pillows, although it looks like it gets them from out of thin-air. He then uses these pillows as defensive shields or offensive weapons depending on necessity. Using his power too much will cause him to go to narcoleptic sleep, although a pillow does appear underneath his head before it hits the floor/table edge/cast-iron bathtub. The pillows do not remain stable in this dimension and eventually dissolve away into a bunch of biodegradable feathers.
Can pillow-fight like a boss.

(Things in parentheses are OOC. The rest of this is IC. A form for your character to answer.)

Describe your abilities: They're fantastic, and really help when I'm going to sleep. I don't even have pillows on my bed. I just up and conjure some pillows. They dissolve in the middle of the night, and I have to conjure some more, but with the sleep I get I ain't complaining! Huh? My abilities? Oh yeah, they're fantastic! I can pull pillows out of thin air! They dissolve eventually though. That sucks. But I saved a kitten from a tree by climbing up to it and pushing it off onto my pillow once! It was great!
Why did you become a superhero: After I saved that kitten from a tree, I knew I was on my way to greatness. So I became Pill-OW!. I assume I'll be able to help more kittens! Maybe even save them from supervillains! All the kittens and cat-ladies will love me!
What are your goals for the future: To save kittens. Maybe damsels. Mostly just use my power for righteous good, like those big superheroes. I can make a difference too. I think. But I heard of the Butterfly Effect before. See, it's this thing...
(Why is this character with the Minnesota Infinites. In other words, why do they kind of suck?): They're an idiot stuck with pillows as a weapon/defense, and using too many pillows makes them uselessly narcoleptic.
How would you describe your talents?: They're great talents. I can ramble on all day abou-...Oh. Not much space. Um...They're pretty useful...I guess. Did I mention I saved a kitten from a tree?
(What about your character's talents make them a D-lister?) Who the %@#* would beat up supervillains with cushion-y pillows?
What are your strengths?: I can take pillows out of thin air and use them as a weapon to defeat my enemies. Like gravity and cast-iron tubs!
What are your weaknesses?: I can only pull so many pillows out if thin air before I suddenly go narcoleptic without warning. I think it's weird. Plus the pillows just explode into feathers. They're biodegradable though. I had them tested, because I was worried about environmental hazards and you've heard about global warming and stuff right? Anyway,...oh, ran out of room...now.
(Any other flaws? Maladjusted personality? Social issues? Unmarketable aspects?): He's annoyingly righteous, and starts rambling about random stuff. He doesn't think he does it, but he kinda brags. It generally annoys people some. Probably the flashlight with the dimmest bulb.
Why should you if given the opportunity be allowed to advance in the Infinites?: Advancement would be great. You know, when I used to work in plumbing, I was given a chance to go and train a new guy. It was great. He quit soon though, can't imagine why. I get told to shut up a lot. I don't know wh-oh, ran out of space again.
(Why does the press hate or ignore you?): BECAUSE HE NEVER %$-
...
...
*ahem*
During interviews, or even a two-minute talk with him at the scene of the kitten-saving, he has this thing where he DOESN'T SHUT THE-
*static*
Otherwise he's not really worthy of much attention, unless it's an extraordinarily slow news days and they need something to put on the air every ten minutes, then make it look significant and plaster BREAKING NEWS next to it at the bottom even if it was from six hours ago.
