Name: Rachel Williams
Codename: Prism
Age: 19
Sex: F
Appearance:
Bio: Rachel Williams was born with a strong desire to make a difference in the world, a desire she tried to realize since she was young.
Unfortunately, she was never very good at it. From the school days when she was too shy to go into the various leadership positions that might otherwise have been accessible to her, to the times in college where her budding powers caused her to go out partying whenever she tried to study (she's flunked out because of that), she's been
just shy of achieving her dreams. After some time in therapy and a few medical examinations, it was discovered that she had mutated genetics, and a particular
quack therapist convinced her and her formerly powered father that she might be able to harness her abilities at some point. In a way that was actually good.
And so, here we are...the town she's from isn't far away, and critically, it doesn't have its own super-team. (Plus the other ones wouldn't take her)
Powers: Mental duplication--the ability to split off additional functioning minds inside of her body, which can make her body do things whenever they want. There are some recurring faces (so to speak) among the minds, although minor details about them will sometimes change with new duplication efforts.
(Things in parentheses are OOC. The rest of this is IC. A form for your character to answer.)
Describe your abilities: Well, uhm...I have the power of mental duplication, and...
Basically I can go ahead and watch stuff she--
(At this point she covers her own mouth)
Sorry.(Glare going straight down)
Sorry about that. (Nervous laugh) That was one of my duplicates. Sometimes they can come out during stress...I've gotten a handle on that though. Really.
(brief pause, followed by the opening and closing of her mouth)
Anyway, yes, I can...well, basically I can make duplicates of myself in my mind. Once they've been made, they can do things on their own if they like. It can actually come in handy sometimes. (Nervous laugh)
Why did you become a superhero: (eye roll followed by undirected glare)
Well...you know what they say about using your gifts, right? I want to be able to help people, and this is my special talent that I can do that with.
What are your goals for the future: Well...I hope to develop my abilities more. I've been told that with practice I could do very well someday.
(Why is this character with the Minnesota Infinites. In other words, why do they kind of suck?): See bio.
She/her powers screwed up living a normal life and it was recommended/pushed onto her that she try the superhero trade.
How would you describe your talents?: I am perceptive, willing to work hard, and, uh...I did train for 3 months in Karate. (slight laughter follows)
(What about your character's talents make them a D-lister?): Maybe there's potential in these, but none of them translate that well into actual deeds. She's only had maybe a year on this entire path and it's not clear that her powers aren't a dead end for her.
What are your strengths?: Uhm...well, I am a creative person.
What are your weaknesses?: I tend to be a bit perfectionistic, at times.
(Any other flaws? Maladjusted personality? Social issues? Unmarketable aspects?): She's kind of bad under pressure in her default personality, tends to overprepare sometimes. More seriously her duplicates aren't always on the same page as she is, and while 90% of the time they behave, sometimes a duplicate will pop out suddenly.
Why should you if given the opportunity be allowed to advance in the Infinites?: Well...
Have you seen the people you already hired?
Stop that!
Sorry. (Nervous smile) Uhm...well, I did say my powers could develop. Oh, and I'm willing to work. If you need someone to get a job done, I'm your gal!
(Why does the press hate or ignore you?): New to the scene, powers aren't that useful...there's not much for the press to
do.
