Indeed. Just making sure. lel

Not making one of those opinion lists for now as I haven't formed one about most other nations for now.

Just made a post introducing a few new recurring characters, labour law, state propaganda and technological advancements, while I wait to make a new diplomatic move.

Texas: oh, right that one nation that has ikea, GIVE US MORE FISH Iceland!
now then, who to win the election, Frost or Huston... with Frost, he'll be a bit more expansionist and really push for a full fledged invasion of Louisianan, Huston would rather be a bit of a colonial nutcase in grabbing any territory not hammered down by a great power *cough mexico cough* I think I'll have a corrupt bargain get worked out, where Frost still is President, and Huston becomes Vice President.

I'd rather we try to stick to January until everyone's done with January.

I still have stuff to do with the Germans in January, and I'm not sure if everyone else is finished.

China's view on other nations around the world (because I saw this while touring a hospital and thought it was great)

Mexico: Lost Empire to Americans some time ago
Texas: American State formerly of Mexico
Georgia: American State, formerly of British Empire
Canada: Northern Expanse of the American Continent, no real value
Japan: The Kings of Nippon have not paid Tribute to us in some time. We should check in on them at some point.
China: The Celestial Empire
Russia: These Europeans have claimed dominion over the frozen territory to our North. They will need to be spoken to soon.
Superior: Unknown, perhaps one of the new American States
Anglo-Dutch: Major European Power according to informants. Significant Presence in islands south of Thai-Viet.
Brazil: Jungle Portugal, existence is proof of European incompetence.
Polynesia: Collection of Islands not yet conquered by the Europeans
Germany: New European power, major player in Islands south of Thai-Viet
France: Mainland European Power, no real information about new government has made it back to the Imperial Palace
Iberia: They are the controllers of the northern most island chain to our south. Diplomatic pressure must be exerted on them if they step out of line.
Mughal: Muslim conquerors of India. Potential to claim their lands and appear as liberators to the Hindu and Buddhist Majorities
Maurania: Strange North African region dominated by mountains and deserts. No known civilization lives here.
New England: American State directly across Atlantic Ocean from Europe
Byzantium: Roman Empire, civilization built on the idea of conquest and subjugation. No Recent contact, last known contact with Romans took place around six hundred years ago
Ethiopia: East African Empire founded on the Coptic faith. Potential Regional ally should Romans be found unfit.
Scandinavia: Another European nation, this particular one consists primarily of frozen forests and ice covered lakes. Scouts also report it was once a significant trading hub with a network spanning from central Asia to the North American coastline.
Afghanistan: Muslim Kingdom directly to our West. Sparsely populated with rugged terrain. Potential Tributary state and buffer zone against Mughal and Roman aggressors.
Thai-Viet: Southern Kingdom modeled on our own government style. Former Tributary. No tribute received in recent history, will need to check up on them to assure they have not collapsed.
California: American State across Pacific Ocean. Extensive informant network exists here to bring news from the American Continent and Europe.

It did, but was kicked out in the middle of the 17th century due to successful british-supported dutch conquest, starting from the northeast. True, some iberian influences remain, especially through jesuitic presence in the southeast and south.

Then I don't need to change view of Brazil. To the chinese, all Europeans look the same. Portugese, Dutch, English.. they all look the same and one colonial empire is the same as the other. Until they are within China's immediate vicinity, then we have an issue.

I would have thought China would like California a bit more, given how there's a lot of Chinese people emigrating to California. And that you'd trust us a bit more than having to spy on us this much.

I am going to post for Germany at the end of January pretty soon for our meeting, stating the diplomatic team's arrival and such.

Then everyone will be caught up for February.

Its not that you are disliked, its that Chinese Foreign Policy at this point in history is a bit hands off. You are far away, but you have ports facing us which permit us to have our informant network there so that we can learn about others. They aren't there to spy on just you. Mostly to keep tabs on the entire continent, you are just the lucky country that gets to play host to a mass of chinese immigrants.

why would we do that? we're democratic of course, with some exceptions... Judges are appointed by a man that is appointed by the president that is elected by the people who are not slaves, women or immigrants fresh from the boat.

I don't think it's lucky, California's just the easiest port to get to from Shanghai or Tianjin.
