Special Possessions: A blackthorn wand, a garnet (called the Blood Diamond) that stores vast amount of dark power in the form of a necklace, a crow that is a familiar and houses the mind and soul of an "outsider entity" (It's name Crowley), a bag containing various magical minerals, herbs and other items for his spells and rituals and finally the The Magdalene Grimoire, a text of occult ceremonies, incantations, mystic rites and summoning spells. He also a ring that acts as an amulet, a key that can open any locked doors, gates and windows and a knife for self defense
Greatest Achievement: Summoning and binding the being that would become Crowley.
Mastering all the spells and rituals from both Magdalene but from all the sources of the dark arts from his family library.
He resisted the efforts of a ancient demon to become it's thrall and banished it back home dimension.
Has fought against the temptation to given to the more corruptive aspects of the dark arts for many years but it's still a long battle for the old mage.
Has created a few new spells and rituals of his own.
Has used his cunning and intelligence to manipulate and tricked many mortal and immortal beings.
Finding and regaining the Magdalene Grimoire
Biggest Strength: His intelligent, cunning, wisdom, discipline, willpower and his knowledge and power over the dark arts; especially when it comes to matters like necromancy and summoning otherworldly beings
Biggest Weakness: Light magic, poor physical fighter, hides his usage of the dark arts from the public knowing the negative reputation of that branch of magic, due to his manipulative and ruthless nature he can a hard person to trust. His family name also gives him a negative reputation to those that meet him. He also has a hard time trusting people and would need time to know a person before he can trust them.
Bio: Aleister was a shy and quiet child during the early years of his life, his father being a mage and his mother a news reporter from the norm world. Spending most of his time getting both a private education on both the Norm and Magical world, he wasn't allowed to learn his families dark arts until he has proven himself to have the strength and fortitude to learn it and not go mad or corrupt by it. By the time he was 12 he was ready to enter public school and both the teaching from his home school and his natural great intelligence made Aleister a wonderful student but he rarely socialized with the other students.
It was during his school years that Aleister proved to his family that he has the will, discipline and thirst for the dark arts as he would secretly practice the very dark spells and rites that his teacher warned the students to never use. By the time he after graduating from Iunctus he became an adept of the dark arts and the shy boy became a charming, cunning, intelligent, diligent, resourceful and ambitious man. Aleister however would find that in this point he would find trouble as he can never find a path that best suits him, often staying in a job for a week or 2 at most before moving on.
It as during this time that Aleister would see the price to learning dark magic as he was called in by his still leaving uncle at the time that he needed all available hands on dealing with his brother who not only went insane but his body mutated into a horrific form due to becoming hopelessly addicted and corrupted by dark magic, Fearing that the magical authority would arrive and find out about dark magic being used any Ashwood that was near by was called in to settle the problem quickly and quietly as possible as not to attract attention. The battle against the fallen dark mage was a sombering experience for Aleister who knew of the dangers of his craft but never quite understood until now the ramification of what can happen to those who are weak of heart, mind and soul that dare play with the dark. It was a dark truth that almost made the young mage want to leave his art and family for good.
Some time after this and many events, many of which showed the young mage the price and dangers of dark magic and the magical world in general, Aleister would leave his family, some of it due to fear over his dark powers, to become both a traveling merchant and scholar, using the money and items that he collected and earn to not only sustain himself throughout his trips in the magical world and occasional the norm world but to use the money to find more arcane texts for his own personal collection. The greatest items found by him was the Magdalene Grimoire which was own by the Ashwoods but became lost during their move from Europe to the Americas, this grimoire would help pull Aleister back to the dark arts. Using the Grimoire he would forge his life long familiar and friend Crowley. He eventually make contact with his family again in the late 80s but not return to them right away.
During his travels he would travel to different parts of the world, gaining more knowledge about magic and using what he has learned to improve his own magic, even going as far as to make some new spells for himself with the dark arts (though some of the new spells were once used by his ancestors so the correct term would be relearned). The last chapter on his adventure was when he found a lost temple that houses a powerful artifact called the Blood Diamond guarded by an exile demon. The now old dark mage fought a battle of wills against the demon and not only bested the demon in this battle but he banished it, gaining the crystal for himself. It was after this battle that he would return back to his family now an experienced mage and no longer fearing the dark powers that were linked to him from birth
Aleister would eventually return back to Iunctus as powerful and wise master of the dark arts and applied for a job as a professor of the dark arts.

Background: Once a very small magi family that existed in the fringes of society most never heard of the name Ashwood before as most were nothing more but mere peasants with only a few remarkable members of the family being merchants and scholars. Yet the family was blessed on one factor that would change their destiny forever, every generation of the Ashwood line had a high chance of producing children that can use magic. However this gift came with a cost as for whatever reason an Ashwood mage would always end up going to the Dark Arts eventually in their life.
The scholars of the family were the first to discover the lure of the dark arts they would be the ones to shape the future of the family, many of them telling their family that with the usage of the dark arts they can rise to greatness. A woman named Beatrix Ashwood, back then the Matriarch of the Ashwood family, was the one to convince her family to heed to the words of the newly made dark mages. Most agreed to follow Beatrix's words and in secret the Ashwoods practice the dark arts. As time went on more Ashwoods would become scholars so they can better understand magic and their growing devotion to the dark arts.
By the time the Industrial Revolution appeared the Ashwoods did something that no other sorcerers and witches expected, they allowd half their family to live with the Norms. The Ashwoods had half of their members become industrialists and entrepreneurs in the norm world as those in the magical world equally became powerful and influential merchants and politicians, bring the family from the growing middle class to the wealthy elites in both the world of the norm and in magical world. The Ashwoods had created many new business or used their wealth to buy off competitors to work for them. One of the reason for the Ashwoods rise to power was them using the dark arts for their own benefits along with using their growing pockets of money and political favors and connections to get whatever they want. It was at this time that the Ashwoods began to collect magical items and tomes throughout the world for their personal collection to gain both knowledge and power from them.
Around this time the Ashwoods became one of the founding families of the dark arts organization called the Order of Ancient Mysteries, a secret group dedicated to learning the more esoteric side of the dark arts to learn the eldritch truths of the cosmos. However it would be this research and organization that would bring the Ashwoods down, just as they were enjoying the fruits of their labor on being close to becoming a great family. In searching for the eldritch truths of the world some of the members went mad and a few in their madness began a spree of murders with some committing suicide. Eventually the authorities of magical Britain would find out about the Order and would storm the hideout, capturing many who were in the middle of performing a dark rite to summon an otherworldly being into their world.
The Ashwoods had many of their members captured by the authority for being members of the Order and had many storehouse that contained their collections of arcane items and tomes taken by the authorities. The remaining Ashwoods were forced to flee and take as much as they can carry with them so as not to lose everything that their family as worked so hard on to achieving, moving to the Americas.
Hiding in the shadows of New York City the family has spent most of it's time reciprocating and is now regaining their strength. Like before the Ashwoods have infiltrated key aspects of both Norm and Magical society. Those that live with the norm sacrificed their potency in magic to gain both an understanding on both norm society and their technology; having connections to politics, finance, the entertainment and news media or even having ties to the criminal underworld. Most of the ones who live with the homs were family members who lacked some vital components that allowed them to be taught the dark arts. Those who sided with magic also developed similar ties when it came to the magical community as the family wish to be powerful in both worlds (though would wish to be powerful on the magic side first).
For now most would rather use manipulation and subterfuge to deal with their enemies while using their wealth, connections and hired hands as to also make sure that their enemies are dealt with, in extreme situations an Ashwood may face their enemies but never face to face as they prefer to fight dirty. Oddly enough the Ashwood line has no interest in being evil as each member posses their own individual moral code.
Considering how dangerous the dark arts is it wouldn't be too strange for there to be two teachers just to make sure that if one goes mad the other can stop them before they can cause harm and to replace them after stopping them but that is me.

Bio: Cassander was raised as a "normal child" in rural Washington state, his parents had never told him that his biological father was in fact a mythical being, and so he lived happily in a sleepy village with his mother and step-father. However when Cass started to show signs of having powers, his parents quickly acted and secured enrollment at Iunctus. There was about a year interim, Cassander started showing his ability to control water at age 14, and couldn't go into the school until age 15. But he survived. It was a little weird when the water fountains at his school exploded when he walked by, but nothing unsurvivable.
Overall, Cassander is very unfamiliar with the magical world, only having been recently introduced. And while he does have a fairly good grasp on controlling water, there are very few other magic things that he is capable of. Coming to Iunctus, Cassander hopes to breed his magical talent, and perhaps learn a little bit more about the magical side of his family.
