Trnsfiguration isn't a major form of magic like in the HP universe.

Understandable. This roleplay looks great and I am definitely going to join.

One quick question, though. How can the foundation of the school take place in the 16th century if the founder of the school is American, and the founding member of the council who commissioned the creation of the school is African-American? This seems very historically inaccurate, since the first colonization of America took place in the next century, as did the first instance of slavery on the continent. The term "African-American" wasn't even used to describe people until the late 18th century. The whole time table just seems to be a little off.

Greatest Achievement: Summoning spirits of his own to “protect” his town from an undead menace
Biggest Strength: Has powerful barrier against demons and other unsavoury spirits meaning he can’t be possessed unless he wishes such.
Biggest Weakness: Using magic greatly uses up his energy faster than most people, forcing him to strictly limit its use.
Bio: The earliest Alex can remember from his life was when he was nine years old. He could recall how the skies had turned a blood red, how the very world around the small, secluded town had fallen completely silent. It wasn’t long before screams echoed through town followed by massive chaos as hordes of undead poured through. It was a bloodbath, a battle Alex can barely recall. The freshest memory was when he had fallen before one of their attackers, how his clothing was soaked in his own blood with the fresh smell of carnage in his scents. He had lifted his arm in defence as the axe struck down, an orb of dark magic forming in his hand was the last thing he saw that night. It was weeks before he had woken up with no recollection of what he had done. He tried asking his family yet they couldn’t look at him anymore. They saw a monster.

Long story short, Alex eventually ran from home. (Until now) he has refused to remain close to any sort of civilization unless absolutely necessary. Alex knew that if he fell into the abyss again, giving way to the demons around him, he would hurt somebody again. Yet he was determined to prevent such, to remain sane among the evils that tore at him.

They wouldn’t make him a monster.

They would exist pretty much to have a background character to fill up classes.

Appearance: (Giving a description because trying to put in a picture on my phone is a little tedious.) He stands at about six feet tall. His hair is her black like the night sky, and his eyes are a deep purple. The color of lightning. Be has tanned skin from being outside for most of his life, and a chiseled jawline with a rounded chin.
Position: Head of Security
Special Possessions: Special gems that have been embedded into his flesh that serve to suppress his power
Greatest Achivement: The writing of the Void Tome. (Brief explanation time! This is what he uses when he is completely free of his restraints. It pulls from the concept of emptiness and erasing things. He could use it to teleport to places, though no farther than a few hundred feet at most. It is applicable in combat situations, though he has deemed it too dangerous for It to be used much.)
Biggest Strength: His skill with lightning, having almost studied it exclusively when he was still learning about magic.
Biggest Weakness: He's very afraid of his own power, so much that he refuses to deactivate the suppression gems unless absolutely necessary.
Bio: Votage was born on a night where there had been a lightning storm swirling overhead. His parents were poor, so they couldn't afford a medical center better than the one he had been born in. As he was being birthed however, lightning struck down several times on the building. The newborn boy had been chosen by the storm, and specifically the lightning.

His parents discovered that Votage had magical talent when he was eight. They found their child in his room, sparks of electricity flowing from his fingertips. Not being able to find a teacher that they could afford for the poor boy, they had to leave him to experiment with it to find out its capabilities and limitations. He spent ten years absorbing the details of how things worked through how it felt when he finally had gotten something to happen how he wanted it.

Around the time he turned nineteen, Votage's parents died from disease. He had to find a way to make money for himself, so he became a normal person for a few years, all the while writing the Void Tome so that he could make his daily life easier. He finished the tome around the time he had turned thirty. He had quit his job and built a cabin away from civilization. Living in the woods by himself was stressful however, so much that his power went out of control and destroying the nearby area.

Finally seeing that magic was a dangerous thing that should be kept in check, he tried to use it as little as possible. Votage eventually dug up some gemstones while he was trying to plant some corn. The didn't appear valuable at all, but upon picking them up, he noticed that it felt like they were sucking something out of him. They were absorbing his magic power. He went through a long process that took up several weeks of embedding the gems into his flesh, so that he could never lose control again.

When he had finally turned thirty five, he had gotten back into the world of magic, specializing specifically in lightning. He found Iunctus School of Magic, and seeing as they was nobody there to protect the children learning the good and evil of magic aside from the headmaster herself who quite frankly had better things to do than stop fights, he signed up for the position himself. Eventually, Votage got the job at age thirty seven after having to prove he could do the job well, and better than other applicants.
