The Peregrine are an elite sect of nobility, trained from selection into the most elite fighting force in the realm. They have existed for centuries, serving as a shining example of valor and justice. Wherever they are called, they defend innocent citizens with their lives. The Peregrine are the first soldiers to protect the kingdoms, and the last lines of defense. That's the idea, anyway.
Now, the world is beginning to move on. The sword and shield favored by most heores is being replaced by the gun. Some small villages are beginning to see smokestacks and railyards. And the need and respect of the Peregrine, as well as the noble families they hail from, is beginning to wane.
You are one of these sacred knights, meeting your fellows at an annual feast inside the castle walls of Towanno. It is here you will be assigned your greatest mission yet....and determine the fate of industry, tradition, and the very kingdoms you are sworn to protect.
Hello, one and all! Aona here, with another fantasy/western roleplay! In The Peregrine, the world is beginning to change, and a sacred order of knights must combat irrelevance in a new age...and a new threat created by it.
This world isn't so much of a dusty desert western, as it is a frontier. Additionally, it isn't so much of a high fantasy as it is a realistic new world. You'll see ponchos, repeaters, and oil, but not tumbleweeds and canyons. Additionally, you may see castles, sacred orders, and dragons, but not elves or goddesses. It's a world blended from the two genres, so feel free to be creative with your choices
Things to Keep in Mind (Not the Rules, yet):
- This world's general technological time-frame is early-to-mid 1800's. Revolvers, Repeater rifles, and bayonets are widely used. Cars and Electricity, however, are not.
- Each Peregrine is selected from a long line of nobility. Enjoy your character coming from a life of (at least somewhat) luxury!
- Create relationships! The other characters are your good friends, feel free to form romances, hatreds, and friendships with the other RP'ers!
- Peregrines are elite knights with their own code of honor, and are sworn to protect the best interests of the kingdoms. How they achieve this may be unconventional, but try to keep your character at least generally good in nature.
- None of the cardinal RP'ing sins (Godmodding, Metagaming, etc)
- Follow my word, and what I say. If I give someone power, please respect said power.
- No one-liners.
- Respect your fellow RP'ers. If you have an argument, ask me to settle it.
- If you are leaving the RP, please let me know first. The same goes for temporary absences.
- Implication(!!) of sex is allowed, but please keep it very vague, and consensual.

MY APPLICATION:
Name: Hannibal Rouga (aka: Hanni, The Lamb, The Red Hare)
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Appearance:
Personality: Hanni is an idealistic young boy, who has always enjoyed the frontiersman's life over any haughty nobility. He's always been a wild child, letting his whims often guide his actions. While he has been praised for his strong instinct and intuition, he gets himself into trouble often with his whimsy. Friendly, aggressive, and never one to avoid cracking a joke, his youth has placed him as a rather eccentric member of the Peregrine. When placed in situations concerning the formality of his position, Hanni is uncomfortable, irrational, and often times considered too immature for his role. However, place him in the wilds, or in front of those he protects, and his primal youthfulness is more of an asset than a liability, even if the means to success are less than unformulated.
Noble Family/Kingdom: The Rougas of Towanno, one of the centralized kingdoms, has existed as powerful merchants for centuries. Their caravans delivered across the Talla, and were well-regarded as a diplomatic, agreeable nation. They lack the number or vassal villages other states possess, but their trading empire continues to prosper.
Heraldry (Optional): The Red Hare with Towanno's 'Sunrise of Opportunity' behind
Weapon of Choice: Schofield No. 3 Great-Revolver
Equipment: Revolver, Pocketwatch, Camping Rucksack, Peregrine-Issued Greatcoat
Weaknesses: Hanni is an ineffectual strategist, and will follow his first impulses unless strongly persuaded otherwise. He's a horrible diplomat, and is barbaric by noble standards. He also is stubborn, and will let his emotions cloud his thinking.
Additional info: Hanni is one of the youngest trainees to be admitted into the Peregrine.
