Elinor’s day was almost unbearably mundane. She got up, ate, went to work, got a drink with friends, went home, cooked dinner, and slept. Like clockwork. It was almost like she had directly designed her life to be as normal and boring as humanly possible.
There were only two details of her routine that stood out as strange. The first was her weekly therapist sessions each Friday after work. It lasted for nearly three hours and although Alice didn’t know exactly what was going on in there she could make an educated guess based on Elinor's past. The second was the bi-week PTSD meetings she had to at a recreation center across town. There she along with a dozen rape victims and veterans worked together through their issues and achieve some level of normalcy.
So when she saw the phone her face twisted into a mix of sadness and despair. She almost considered throwing the phone away or destroying it. She was halfway sure it was a trap. But the more she thought about it the more she began to see an opportunity. A chance to put her therapy into action and overcome her trauma. So she waited after spending an entire night doing her mental exercises and preparing herself. This was the moment she started fighting back against the fear and the isolation.
When midnight struck she flipped the phone on and waited.

“Why,” Elinor said simply. “Your some stranger who snuck a phone into my grocery bag. Now you're telling me to come to a deserted park in the middle of night. If I don’t get mugged on the way to you then how do I know you won’t rob me blind.”
She crossed her arms and snarled her lips. “If I have a tail then it would be safer for me to call the cops. Not some person whose sneaking phones into my bags and using a machine to mask their voice. If you wanted to go out of your way to look like a criminal trying to abduct someone you’ve succeeded. Hank McFarr
Hank was on his usual moening jogging tour, leading him up and down the Battery Park. Why was he doing that? Well, because his wife literally is a housedragon and said that he was getting too fat and should get off his lazy ass to get some training and loose some pounds. And of course Hank heeded her advice. Not like he had a choice anyways.
But this time something would go horribly wrong. Something would enter Hank's life that would leave a permanent mark on before mentioned life. And that although everything started rather harmless. When he jogged along the basin of the North Cove Yacht Harbour, there was a group of youngsters hanging out. Once he came in sight of them, they quickly started pointing fingers at him and laughing. He did look pretty funny though with his little belly and his beginning bald head, jogging and sweating. Now, of course the youth of today just couldn't leave it at ridiculing him, no, one of them ran up to him and before he could react he was pushed into the basin. After the initial shock Hank was filled with anger which got even greater when he heard the laughter of these boys up above.
"Oh, you're gonna pay for this you little dumbfucks..."
, he thought in rage. But that rage was very short lived for he suddenly felt something touching his leg. And if his feeling hadn't berayed him, it had felt an awful lot like fingers. But the range quickly returned for he thought it was probably these youngsters diving below him and trying to pick on him a little more. Well, they were going to get a bad surprise he thought before he dived down, trying to get whoever was down there.
Now guess what, he found whoever was down there pretty quickly. However, he only saw the man as a shadow and it felt pretty awkward because the guy didn't seem to be moving much at all. But he was so enraged that he quickly swam closer and grabbed the mans arm which was floating upwards and was probably the thing that touched his leg. However, when he pulled at the arm, the body didn't come closer at all. There was some sor of resistance holding him back. But what happened instead was that the body turned around, showing Hank the face of the man. And oh boy was poor Hank shocked.
The man he had found was staring at him without blinking and any life in his gaze. And his mouth was wide open. And no air bubbles came out of there. But the most shocking thing to Hank was the terrible wound that the man had. His chin, his throat his chest and his stomach looked like something had burned through there.
And all can guess what happened. Police was called and arrived quickly. They managed to pull the body out of the river. His feet had been tied to a barrel filled with stones hence why he had been floating in the water and Hank hadn't managed to pull him out. He died by having acid poured down his throat. The man was also quickly identified by his clothing. The style of clothing and other equipment on the body of the man marched with the clothing of the men who had attacked the police station in Little Italy. Supporting the fact that he belonged to them was the time of death. The team found out that he had died on the very same day, only hours after the attack occurred. Once they found this out, both the NYMD and the Knights were informed of the case.
Also, the poor victim held something in his hand, it being tightly clenched around it. Once the hand was opened, the investigators found a piece of an umbrella which he had probably ripped off in his final struggle. And sawed onto this piece of umbrella was...a little tag stating where this umbrella had been produced and sold...and it was a small shop in Sunset Park.

The other was a vague amphibian creature with slimy coarse skin that reek of swamp water, its limps a constant whirly gig of motion and undulation. It was a disgusting sight as the two tried to wring each others neck.
But eventually Crimson was successful owning to his more malleable body and liquid form. However, when he peeled himself off the toads melting corpse, he was unable to stand up properly. So much of his body had been covered and consumed by the acid and the creature’s massive gullet that he was nearly half the size he had been before. Meekly he meeped out a pleading cry to Andrew before collapsing inertly.

Andrew Marks AKA Snake Eyes
Andrew watched frightfully as he watched the frog monster hop towards him through Rango's eyes. He preapred himself for fight, but the Crimson came to protect him and fought the creature himself. Snake Eyes watched as the red mass of fungus tred strangling the gaint amphibain and began to cheer him on. However, once the frog monster was down, Andrew watched in horror as he saw the damged Crimson had suffered in the fight and ran towards him once he was down on the ground. "Gah!" he yelped in uncertianty as he tried holding Crimson in his arms, "Someone... Dez, help me! I don't know what to do! We need to get him back to HQ ASSSAP!"

"Actually... that's a good point." the voice answered, "I have a dossier on you that I stole from a police station. You may or you may not decide to believe me but I would suggest it is at least worth your time to check it out. I'm not sure if the people tailing you are police or some other branch of the Government, but they are watching you. Sooner or later you'll be approached with an offer you cannot refuse or made to disappear somewhere depending upon whether they think you'll be more useful as a State-sanctioned killer or if you're too much of a threat."
"I am the third option. Come and meet with me. If you decide I'm a nutter, walk away. I doubt I could stop you, according to what I have read you have some pretty impressive powers. I am going to have to ask you to make a decision soon though. We have to assume that, as it is the Government watching you, they, effectively, have infinite resources. I suspect your flat is bugged so if you want to meet me without getting pounced on by men in dark suits, now would be the time to do it."

Small Umbrella Shop
Aarav Chandran
It had been a normal day for Aarav so far. Which basically meant that it was pretty damn quiet around his shop. No customers were there so he basically spent his time sitting behind the counter and absentmindedly finishing some work on some umbrellas. Just like he did everyday. Customers really were rare. People often had little reason to visit a shop specialized on umbrellas. Besides, any supermarket sold cheap and low quality umbrellas. He should've closed the store years ago, seeing how little profits he made but he just couldn't do it. This was the shop that his father had opened 40 years ago when he had immigrated to the US. It was a family business and just letting go of something run by the family for the last 40 years was truly difficult to do. He just couldn't do it emotionally. And thus he was stuck with a low income and a shop that rarely had customers.
Speaking of that, suddenly the doorbell rang. A customer! The speed with which Aarav put away the umbrellas he had been working on and hurried to the door was truly astonishing. With a broad smile he came towards Johanna. He looked like a regular indian man in his late twenties or early thirties. With a friendly voice dripping of helpfulness he asked:
"May I help you Mrs...?"

There was a pause before Elinor replied. “I’ll be at the park in half an hour. Be visible and in a public place or I’m leaving.” She hung up and took a deep breath.
It made sense that people were following her, she knew that was always a possibility given what she could do. She was a danger even though she tried not to act like one. She had barely ever used her powers, she remembered exactly how to, but she didn’t want this ability. Still others needed to look at her like some kind of bomb.
Putting on a hoodie and grabbing a can of Mace she went out and climbed on the bus heading towards central park. She wasn’t as nervous as some of the girls in her groups but she could feel her heart racing and tried to walk through the steps her therapist had taught her. It wasn’t long before she got off and began walking slowly through the park to the place they had agreed on. She hung back a bit and watched the spot for a moment to ensure there were any strange men lurking in nearby bushes.

There was a flash of red light and suddenly a mass of red dripping Fungus was striding towards Dez and Snake Eyes. The smell of wet detritus and decaying electricity filled the air as NUMB moved to tower over the two and inspect Crimson. His normal cool seemed compromised for some reason, his movements less controlled and precise
“You’re taking him anywhere,” the mass of mycelium said in sparking electrical chatter. It lifted a pink arm-like appendage with dozens of protruding tendrils that seemed to shine and glow with energy. “You’re going to leave now,” he said to Dez. The malice and displeasure were more in the creature’s pitch than his words or tone. But it was clear that NUMB didn’t want the interloper anywhere nearby.
“Snake Eyes, establish a perimeter and start getting people out of the rubble. I’m going to take Crimson back to base. If anyone tries to interfere or approach you tell them to leave and then arrest them.”

The smile on Aarav's face froze for a second when he saw who his customer was, or better, what his customer was wearing. Strange people often meant trouble. And in these times full of strange people, where nothing seemed to be normal, the trouble could be way out of the ordinary. But he quickly got a hold of himself again. A customer was a customer, regardless what he looked like.
Now, the compliment fluttered him a little, causing his cheecks to start getting red. He was very thankful that she wanted an umbrella for herself though, as that gave him something else to focus on. Looking at her for a little while he asked:
"Parasol or Umbrella? Just asking. I know, usually people don't want to have a parasol and maybe only get themselves a beach umbrella but only recently I got a customer who wanted that so I want to make sure that I know exactly what I am at here."

Using his boa constrictor as eyes as always, Snake Eyes began running around the preimeter checking on the injured and digging them out. One of the snakes, a 'red touching yellow' coral snake, he would find, was staring directly at him, hanging from a bar of the fire escape..
