Human's are actually extremely resistant to burning. Long process so it's actually not that effective against something's that already dead. Essentially you're going to need to blow their head off to put them down for good. But keep in mind they have embedded Necromancers that will rebind the souls to new corpses. So you'll need to kill them in order to put them down for good.
