To be honest it might be quicker if you edit to have your character walk in after knocking so I have a cleaner transition.

Ok I will edit my post

Whoops. Stuff happened while I was writing my post. One sec.
For really, I think that the poorest he that is in England hath a life to live as the greatest he. And therefore truly, Sir, I think it's clear that every man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own consent to put himself under that Government. And I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put himself under.

To what extent do y'all think the characters would know each other by reputation? Twitch seems like a fairly established player, and Patrick's Irish heist is probably somewhat legendary, both for good reasons and bad. I'd imagine that Bran's reputation for do-goodery is also pretty well established, if only because it makes him unemployable. I'm not sure about the others, though.

Padraig's been largely out of the game for the longest time, so he's not familiar with any of the people there but sunshine, I've been going with. But yes, his heist was probably pretty legendary but there's few pictures of what he looked like himself, Gotta protect that identity while on the run, you know? :p

Whisper is usually more known in criminal syndicate worlds, since she's usually manipulating corporate types a lot of the time, and in Seattle more than Toronto. Even though her spells are powerful and she knows how to use them, I doubt she'd be on their radar.

If anybody's worked with Twitch in the past, they'd recognize her almost immediately. Nothing on the outside has changed but her skin and the cyberlimbs. I'm not sure if an Ares sting op would make headlines though: as far as the Matrix knows, she's dead.

No one should be able to visually recognize Hex, but I think anyone who's operated in the Pacific Northwest or California would know her name. No one knows anything about her, though. Hex as the name of a contract killer that never misses is commonly known; the fact that it's a 22-year-old pink-haired female NEET is not.

Eh, gets the job done. I hate doing intro posts. It's hard to get a handle on your character until you've been writing them for a bit, you know?

Yep, once you get a feel its much easier to characterize them.

Bran brings up a good question. How the fuck is Paddy so old despite being so outspoken? Pretty much dumb luck and skill, I'd say XD

Couldn't be much else.

I'm enjoying writing Bran. It's all these paragraphs of interior monologue, careful analysis, moral agonizing - followed by four actual spoken sentences. I don't usually write quiet characters, and the contrast appeals to me.

Yup, I did love it. Its a good thing to bring up. Paddy is a crazy old bastard, he's only become more of a loudmouth in his old age. Its amazing that he's been able to be in hiding for so long.

He probably was the one who set up the whole interview thing, mostly so he could brag about the job that everyone seems to try covering up XD

Oh its wonderful, totally. I love reading it. Padraig is very much an action first and moralizing above true logic. Hell, to be a revolutionary you gotta be willing to throw away a good bit of your logic, practically :p

I thought it was pretty good. Don't worry too much about length, so long as you're responding to things I'm not going to harass you. I know it's hard to fit content in when you just don't need to.

A bit of a news update for everyone.

I know school is starting up for many, and the end of the Summer is going to mean a lot for everyone regardless. I work semi-full time, so my posting frequency will not change. That said, if anyone finds themselves unable to keep up with regular updates, feel free to let me know and we can write your character out for a short time to give you a break and bring them back later. If anyone intends on leaving permanently, please let me know beforehand so we can work out a suitable departure for your character!

Regarding more pressing matters, I figured I'd let you all know that I will be away visiting friends this Labor Day weekend, September 3rd - September 5th. I will have my phone with me, so if I find the time I will continue to make small updates periodically, but expect my posting to drop between those dates, 'specially since I'll likely be too drunk to remember how to phone.

To alleviate my need to post, however, I hope to launch your runners on the first part of their mission, which will largely be the first half of Chapter One, by the end of Friday before I leave. That way, you folks can hopefully continue on without me breathing down your necks, and I can pop back in as needed to move things along.

In that vein, I want to talk about NPCs in this RP. Obviously, major actions against NPCs, be they individuals, corporate compounds or the megacorps themselves, should be left to me so that everything remains fair and fun. That means no kidnapping execs or destroying buildings unless I've got a chance to try something first. That said, I don't want you guys to have to wait on me every time you want to snap someone's neck or fire a rocket at a car.

If the result is pretty predicable and the target not critical, you do NOT have to wait for me to finish your action. That means, if you're sneaking through a facility and happen on a guard, don't feel the need to wait for me to RP his response. I trust you guys to be fair and give the poor mook a chance, and to temper yourselves and remember your vulnerability. Similarly, unless a high alert has been called, deckers and technomancers don't need to wait for me to hack. Feel free, again, to do what you think is necessary to put out good content.

In general remember that the challenge is half the fun. This universe wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't a David versus Goliath story, and keep in mind that as OP I do want say in major events of this RP, not so I can force you guys in a certain direction, but so that I can keep this organized and entertaining for everyone involved.

That all said and done, I'll be working on my next IC post for a bit, feel free to ask if you've got any questions. I'm very, very happy with how things have been going so far!

Oh yeah, and I can help with running NPCs if you'd like Ceann. Not every NPC would be able or hvae the knowledge to direct the plot but its easier making good drama and fights when someone else controls the NPCs, I should be able to help with that.
