The year is 2552

Humanity is at war with the alien alliance known as "The Covenant".
We are losing.

The Covenant have burned our worlds, killing billions in their genocidal campaign.

Earth is our last bastion - a carefully guarded secret.

But not anymore.

A Covenant carrier has breached Earth's defenses and attacked the African mega-city, "New Mombasa".

Initial reports confirm major damage and heavy civilian casualties.

You and your platoon were deployed in New Mombasa to fight back the Covenant ground forces.

You are nothing special, you aren't government funded super soldiers, you're Marines.

And we're counting on you, all of, to save our very species from certain extinction.

You may not make it, we may not make it, but it's now more than ever where you sacrifice is needed.

You are a member of 2nd platoon, Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 101st Marine Division. Alpha company was stationed in New Mombasa prior to the covenant invasion. There is no Alpha company left. Everyone except 2nd platoon has been killed during the initial stage of the invasion. Your platoon is cut off, struggling to regroup with UNSC forces, but between you and friendly territory stands an army of Covenant forces. The only thing keeping you connected to battalion HQ was destroyed. Now, more than ever, does humanity require it's soldiers to be brave, and stand in the face of the enemy that has destroyed and taken so much.

Long story short, most of your company was destroyed, and you're stuck in the middle of New Mombasa, where everyone is ferociously fighting off the Covenant. Your CO (Yours truly) is trying to regroup with the nearest friendly unit. There will be heavy resistance, and casualties, don't expect your character to survive (You're always welcome to make another). The story will follow 2nd platoons fight, from the evacuation of New Mombasa to Voi.

Short Bio: Born on Reach, Marcus enlisted at an early age well before the Human-Covenant War, only commissioning as a lieutenant after news of Harvest. His unit stayed behind the lines most of the war, mostly in support rolls, until the fall of Reach, Marcus' home world. His unit engaged the covenant in multiple missions and was one of the last to be evacuated. They were deployed to Earth for it's defense and recovery after heavy casualties.

Marcus turned down a promotion to 1st Lieutenant and a position as Executive Officer in favor of being in charge of a platoon. He was reviewed by UNSC shrinks to see if he was still combat reliable due to the destruction of his home world, and it was determined that he could keep his command. He earned many military honors in his career for saving countries civilians on Reach and being wounded twice. Now, his unit is stationed in a FOB outside of New Mombasa for the time being, waiting for orders from higher ups.

Short Bio: Born on January 8th, 2528, New Legaspi, Mars. Drew never wanted to enlist originally, however as the years progressed, by 2539, hundreds of colonies, and billions of lives had already been ended. This spurred a hatred for the Covenant, and gave him his reason for enlistment. Drew completed JROTC, alongside several years of tertiary education, bumping him up to his current rank of E-3. Despite not having made Corporal yet, Drew is not green by any means. He's survived the past three years with the 101, that in itself is quite the feet.
