Difficult to explain.
We're in SAO, at least.
Currently, we're doing a small arc that Charlia really wanted to do, which includes a boss fight on Floor 99, where the characters currently are.
But we are thinking about rebooting, and the question is what to do after this small arc ends.
The options as of now are to remain in Aincrad, and have plots and fun and stuff, or to try to move to a new story arc of SAO.

Interesting, but judging from the explanation provided above yours, it doesn't seem like the greatest environment to introduce a new character.
Haha...
Like that'll stop me.

I say we go to GGO, imagine Aterro with a Minigun, or Noble with a pair of proton swords.

Well Parcia.. usually acts as if he is in a MMORPG.
Which is true, but the rest of us tend to forget that from time
Well, you can certainly bring a character in, at any time you want.

GGO is dark, gritty, and has provided very little information on the full extent of what's possible in that world.
I think Alfheim would be better.
I've just shown up, though, so my opinion doesn't have much sway. XD

Well, we are kinda stuck on this, so any opinions would be helpful XD
Yeah, it's true. But Alfheim would lack a main plot. Like, in Aincrad it was to beat all floors and to escape the game. In GGO, it would probably be to catch Death Gun.
But in Alfheim.. I'm not sure how we'd be able to put in place the story arc's plot.

That's where creativity comes into play.

Well, we could certainly use some ideas. Because adapting the main plot with Sugou as its antagonist would be difficult.. because of Sugou.
But if we think about it, we can certainly find some main plot.
The other (small) problem is what our characters would do in real life, in the short time between Aincrad and Alfheim.
Because I don't know, I would like to roleplay that.

For the characters, they probably would remain in the hospital for a few days to do some medical examination, then be released back to their families to begin physical and psychological therapy.
But they might not want to jump back in.
That's my best guess.

That is one of the issues. Without something to drag them back in, I don't see the characters directly jumping into ALO.
But then, I don't think that any of us, the old players, will be dropping their old characters. I mean, I hope not, at least. We've had those characters for quite a lot of time. So we need to find a way around that. We need something in the plot to force them to enter ALO.
And in terms of what they'll do in real life, that's the thing, we have characters with special situations. We have characters that might be in dangerous situations once the game ends. And things like that. And besides from that, the SAO characters did meet in real life.
So before starting ALO, even if it is in this thread, before we reboot, I'd like all characters to meet in real life, one way or another.

I'm just imagining Noblemind finding out about Sugou and angrily calling everyone else and screaming at them over the phone that they will find this guy, and they will kill him.Tracian Empire wrote:Sky-TheLandOfNekos wrote:For the characters, they probably would remain in the hospital for a few days to do some medical examination, then be released back to their families to begin physical and psychological therapy.

They could have a "Survivor Reunion" or something similar to that where they could have tossed around the idea of jumping once more into the virtual world to honor their lost.

Are they still traumatized by being caught in SAO for more than two years? Noblemind doesn't care! They need to find Sugou!
No problem!
