If you're referring to Charlotte's books, that's one of the traits she received from me. Characters are easier to write in a more believable manner if they share a few traits with you. One of those traits, at least for Charlotte, is a love of Sherlock Holmes. Another is a subconscious predilection towards symbolism.

And then there's the red hair, but that's mostly just because I like red hair.
